[♪INTRO]

Down in the forested streams of South America lives a curious little mammal called the yapok.

Also known as the "water opossum," it's the only marsupial adapted for an aquatic

lifestyle.

And to be so at home in the water, it's developed a curious trait: the males have

pouches, too.

And what's a male yapok do with his pouch?

Tuck his junk, of course.

Yapoks are nocturnal, spending their nights diving in streams in search of small fish,

crustaceans, insects, and frogs to eat.

They're sort of like an otter or muskrat, but cousin to the good 'ole Virginia opossum.

And they have a lot of similar aquatic adaptations—webbed feet, water-repellent fur, and tails that

they use as rudders.

But one of their water-adapted traits stands out.

They're the only living marsupial species in which both sexes have pouches.

The females use their pouch like other marsupial ladies do—as a nice protective case for

their developing young.

But because they enjoy such a wet lifestyle, a female yapok's pouch is watertight.

That way, it keeps the babies safe and dry while mom's swimming.

The male's pouch isn't watertight, but it's definitely there, which is more than

you can say for any other adult male possum—or any other adult male marsupial, for that matter.

Some young male marsupials have pouches, but they lose them by the time they mature—except

for yapoks.

And like a female's pouch, the male yapok's pouch keeps something safe and warm while

the animal swims: his scrotum.

And that's probably in part to help keep his sensitive sac safe, as dangly bits are

thought to be a bit inconvenient when swimming because they create drag and could snag on

an unseen object.

Youch.

Perhaps more importantly, a nice pouch ensures the sperm-makers stay at just the right temperature.

One of the reasons mammals have an external sac for the testes is actually to keep them cool.

Overheating damages sperm, so hot testicles can hamper a male's fertility.

But it's not good for sperm to get too cold, either, and getting wet is a sure way to catch a chill.

That's because water acts as a better heat conductor than air, so you lose heat more

quickly in it.

Hence the yapok's unique system.

Other water-dwelling mammals face the same issue.

But since they lack pouches, they've come up with other ways to hit that Goldilocks

temperature.

In whales, dolphins, manatees, and seals, the testicles are internal, but they're

hooked up to a kind of cooling system that uses chilled blood from the extremities to

prevent overheating.

Sea lions do have scrotums, but they can be a bit flexible about the degree of dangling.

They're able to tuck their testicles up and in, and only poke them out into their

scrotums as needed to cool off or during the breeding season.

And otters are considered seasonally scrotal—their testes are so small when they're not breeding

that they don't really protrude from the body, so they don't create much drag or

catch on things.

But since yapoks come from an evolutionary lineage where pouches are a thing, natural

selection apparently co-opted a part already at hand to help males with their tender testes

when they took to the water.

Because if you've got a pocket right there, you might as well use it!

Shit better have bars."

After listening to most of the song, Joey starts to question when exactly 'Ye will

begin rapping pointing out that more than half the song was over.

The track then builds momentum with a bass-heavy beat, before Kanye jumps into his whoop di

poop rhyme.

After realizing it was a troll move, he fell back onto a couch and began laughing.

Of course, he couldn't wait to share the song with everyone else in his crew.

Aside from Joey getting a good laugh, you can catch some never before heard track that

may appear on Joey's upcoming project.

Hopefully he doesn't throw any troll tracks in their either.

Hey guys, what's up? It's Melissa here, so today?

I'm going to film a makeup tutorial for you guys cuz I asked you guys on Instagram and you guys

Majority of you said you wanted to see this makeup look right here so yeah

Yeah, I am gonna show you how to do this look honestly, I really love this look legit the halo eye...

Yeah, without further ado let's get on with the video

So the first thing I'm going to do before apply any makeup on is to get a wipe and wipe off any excess oil

Or dirt off my face

then I'm going in with a face primer, by Lacura Beauty; and

What this is going to do is make the makeup not only last longer, but also smooth out the face

So just apply it like you would with a moisturizer and then on to fou ndation

So I'm going to use two foundations to get the right color match for my skin

So the first one is the Covergirl Trublend foundation in the shade 15 creamy natural and the other one is the Revlon Colorstay foundation

In 220 natural beige so mixing the two, I'm going to dot that on my face and using a damp sponge, dab it

Making sure, it's up my hairline and down my neck

All products I used in this video will be in the description. So don't worry about missing out on what I said

Now we have concealers, so we will be using my favourite, Loreal Infallible Total Cover Concealer Palette and guys

We've hit pan on the lightest shade

so we'll be using this shade and the shade next to it too. Just taking some off my hand we will be lightly dabbing and

Swiping it on our panda eyes and any other blemishes or redness we have

Going into the FaceofAustralia

translucent powder we will be tapping the beauty blender in that powder

And setting the concealer with it as well as in places where I get oily faster. So that's generally the T-zone

Now we are going bougie on the brows

But before that we need to groom these strangers and then using the NYX eyebrow pencil crayon in black noir

To fill and reshape the brows

Remember brows don't have to be twins they can also be sisters as well. Now, I'm pretty horrible with brows so

I'm going to correct my past by concealing it and oooolala we have our brows

This is going to be the palette we are using and it's the Glamorous O.M.F.G eyeshadow palette by ChiChi

So I'm going in with this peachy shade we will lightly cover the whole lid with this. Then going back into the same colour

We'll be concentrating that color on the outer and inner portion of the lid. Really

intensifying that colour. In with the orange shade, we are going to do the same thing by making it even more intense and sunset like.

Now with some glitters so with my favourite colour

We are going to use our finger and place that on the center of our eyelids, so it gives a pop

With an eyeshadow brush you'll want to blend that harsh line and do the same thing on the lower lash line

Like you're wearing matching pajamas

With a black liner pencil we will be lining the upper waterline to up make our lashes look like they have volume and

Speaking of lashes will be grooming these with the Maybelline lash sensational mascara

Coating it to the max

so what I like to do is sweep it to the right then to the left and

up to get that lift and volume we want and

We need to show some something love to our lower lashes, too, so I'm using the Maybelline great lash mascara to do so

once done and we are going in with the Rimmel glam eyes liquid luck eyeliner in black glamour and

Line that line close to the lash line and flick it with a nice angel wing

After that we want to curl our flat lashes to the sky, and that's the eye look done moving on to the face

I'm using the Rimmel Kate Moss

Golden bronzer palette and I'm using this to contour the hollows of our cheeks,

jawline, forehead and my Voldemort noise

Then going into the highlighter

We are going to blind those haters by applying it on the nose, inner corner of the eyes, brow bone and cheekbone

With the lips I'm using the Maybelline

Vivid matte liquid in the shade 50 nude thrill and smear that on my lips

Once done we will go in again with another lipstick

And it's the NYX butter lipstick BLS10

so this orange colour and dab it on the inner portion of the lips for that more summer vibe and

Musk: 'We will not be starting production of Model Y next year' - Duration: 8:13.

Tesla Inc. could begin production of its Model Y small crossover in early 2020, CEO Elon

Musk said Wednesday.

"Model Y is going to be a manufacturing revolution," Musk said on an earnings call in which he

expressed frustration with certain Wall Street analysts' "boring" questions.

On Wednesday, Tesla reported first-quarter financials, during which the Palo Alto, Calif.-based

automaker hemorrhaged $784.6 million on revenue of $3.41 billion.

In comparison, Tesla reported a net loss of $397.2 million a year ago, on revenue of $2.7

billion.

Tesla has posted positive net income in just two quarters since it became a public company

in 2010.

Automotive revenue in the first quarter totaled $2.73 billion, up from $2.29 billion during

the first three months of 2017.

The company had a cash balance of $2.7 billion at the end of the first quarter.

Model 3 production hit 2,270 per week in April, below the 5,000 units per week that Musk noted

would bring the company to cash-flow positive.

"Our understanding of production is improving exponentially," Musk said on the call.

"We are seeing ways to achieve improved volumes with dramatically less [capital spending]

by simplifying production line and engaging [employees] in improving the way parts are

made."

Tesla revealed it had more than 450,000 Model 3 reservations at the end of the first quarter.

The company hoped to hit the 5,000 weekly production mark in about two months.

Model S and Model X deliveries in the second quarter are expected to be similar to the

first quarter but should "pick up considerably in Q3 to achieve our goal of 100,000 deliveries

for the full year," the company said.

Tesla shares fell 4.5 percent in after-hours trading to $287.46 as of 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Earlier report

Musk dismissed an April 11 Reuters report that claimed Tesla plans to begin production

of the Model Y in November 2019.

The article, which cited two unnamed sources, indicated the vehicle would begin to be built

at its Fremont, Calif., plant.

"The Reuters report is based on nothing," Musk said.

"We will not be starting production of Model Y next year.

I would say it's probably closer to 24 months from now… [early] 2020 is a more likely

prospect."

Musk also clarified Model Y would not be made in Fremont, noting the plant is "jammed

to the gills" and "crazy packed."

While noting the site of Model Y product has not been determined, Musk said a site decision

on a second Tesla factory could come "maybe next quarter, but not later than fourth quarter."

Tesla also expects to announce the location of a new battery Gigafactory, which will be

in China.

"In future, all Gigafactories will incorporate vehicle production," Musk said.

Currently, Tesla manufacturers its vehicles in Fremont and lithium ion batteries in Nevada.

'Excessive automation'

Musk, who bucked traditional auto manufacturing practices with a mostly automated Model 3

production line, has had to recalibrate his expectations.

Musk acknowledged an overdependence on automation on the Model 3 production line has led to

quality issues and slowdowns.

"Yes, excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake," Musk tweeted last month.

"Humans are under-rated."

More humans, however, are going to escalate costs for a company already buckling under

pressure to manage costs.

"There are some things that are very well suited to manual operation and some things

that are very well suited to automated operation, and the two should not be confused," Musk

said on the call.

"…We did go too far on the automation front and automated some pretty silly things."

As Tesla burns cash, it shoulders $10 billion in debt -- $1.2 billion of which is maturing

in the next 12 months.

Those headwinds have buffeted the company's stock and credit ratings.

No pot of gold in sight

"We have moved beyond the limitless horizon line, in terms of patience with Tesla's

financials, to a limited horizon line," Karl Brauer, senior director at Kelley Blue

Book, which is owned by Cox Automotive, said in an interview earlier Wednesday before the

earnings report was released.

"People are starting to say we need to see a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow and

we are not going to wait forever for it."

Musk waved away a question on whether Tesla needed to raise more equity capital.

When pressed by the analyst, who then asked if Musk "wanted to" raise capital, even if

he didn't need to, the CEO curtly responded: "I specifically don't want to."

Beyond body panel gaps and autonomous technology accused of being "half baked" in a 2017 class-action

lawsuit, lurks a more existential threat to Tesla's long-term survival.

The much deeper pocketed competition is finally catching up.

Jaguar, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Audi have announced premium electric vehicles

in the near term.

"The premium-badged multi-hundred mile EV market that Tesla has owned for five to 10

years will not be nearly as exclusive," Brauer said.

"The market is going to shift dramatically in that it's not going to be that unique

to have a 200-to-400-mile-range EV in another 12 months to 24 months."

Market value

While Tesla's current frothy valuation -- its shares closed Wednesday at $301.15 for a market

value of more than $50 billion -- shields Tesla from a takeover, a buyout might ultimately

be the way this story ends.

"Tesla would be an attractive way for a Chinese automaker to enter the electric vehicle

market," Brauer said.

"China by itself will be the backbone of the EV revolution, and they've got a lot

of money."

Tesla could provide the next billion-dollar market opportunity for a tech conglomerate,

such as Apple.

Tesla not only offers top-tier battery and computer technology, it offers an enviable

brand cachet thanks to legions of loyalists.

While Tesla's future as an independent company is more uncertain than ever, the company has

proven with certainty that there is a market for attractive high range EVs, Brauer said.

"Finally, we are seeing a concerted effort from a number of premium brands to produce

essentially a Model S, or a Model X competitor," he said.

"Tesla's existence has sped up the effort to produce practical (200 miles+ range) EVs

by ... five to 10 years."
