Trump Driving US Towards Another Great Depression Say 1,100 Economists - Duration: 4:08.

Donald Trump could very likely be sending the United States into another great depression.

And I know that's kind of hard to hear.

After all, we just got the news a few days ago that in April the economy added I think

what, another 139 or 169, somewhere around there, new jobs.

Unemployment fell 3.9%.

That would indicate that the economy at least in terms of employment only, is doing better

right?

So how in the world could it be that we're headed towards another recession/depression?

Well, don't ask me.

How about you ask the 1100 economists, who this week sent a letter to the president of

the United States warning him that his trade wars that he has going on right now, are repeating

the exact same mistakes from the 1930s that made the great depression so much worse.

And of those more that 1100 economists, 14 of them have won Nobel prizes, so I'm going

to go ahead and assume these guys know what the hell they're talking about.

And before you say that this is just a bunch of liberal bull crap, how about you consider

the fact that this letter from 1100 economists was actually put together by a conservative

organization.

It was the National Taxpayers Union.

Conservatives, they're the ones telling us that Donald Trump is repeating the same mistakes

of the 1930s that made the great depression so much worse and he's doing it again today.

One, either because he's stupid and doesn't understand or two, because he simply doesn't

care.

In 1930 there was something called the Smoot–Hawley Act which enacted a bunch of tariffs in the

United States.

They were trying to fix the great depression but according to researchers these tariffs

actually made things so much worse.

In the '30s before this act was passed, the Smoot–Hawley, economists in the country

got together, sent a letter to Congress in 1930 telling them exactly what was going to

happen.

If you pass this act you're going to make the depression worse.

People are going to lose their jobs.

You're going to harm farmers.

You're going to harm industry.

You're going to make things so much worse in this country.

And they didn't listen to the economists.

Those lawmakers in the '30s thought they knew better than people whose job it is to study

what happens to the economy.

So in the new letter today, 2018 they actually repeated the same warnings and in fact quoted

that letter from 1930s that they sent and said, nothing has changed.

These things will still happen if Donald Trump continues this trade war with other countries.

Farmers in the United States today are already starting to feel the squeeze of these tariffs.

Money is being lost every single day.

Large, substantial amounts of money.

Millions, upon millions, upon millions of dollars from the United States economy and

Trump shows no signs of stopping.

And what's even worse is that his idiotic followers think that he's doing this because

he's a great businessman.

He understands what's going on.

He knows how to do this.

Well, no.

It's one thing when you're a businessman, and move into an area bully everybody out

and you know, get a good price for the building you want to put up.

It's another to attempt to bully countries that have more people, more products and more

money than you do.

Politics, goverment is not a business and you cannot run it as such because when you

do, you lose every single time and that's what these 1100 economists are trying to warn

Donald Trump today.

And I can promise you this.

Having seen what Donald Trump does when people who are smarter than him tell him what to

do, I have no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is going to ignore this letter and continue

on with his disastrous trade war, regardless of the negative economic impacts that it has

here in the United States.

complaining about the outcome, even after more than a year with him in the White House.

The despicable display reached the height of annoyance during every ego-stroking awards

ceremony since President Trump was elected.

All have turned into a Trump-trashing session for pissed of celebrities to get far too much

off their chest about our unapologetic leader.

However, not everyone in Hollywood shares the same opinion as the most outspoken offender,

Meryl Streep, as Kurt Russell just showed her and all of Trump's other famous foes

that it's time to shut up about our president.

If you haven't heard much from Russell lately, it's because he falls into the rare category

of celebrities who isn't crying over Hillary Clinton's loss and doesn't feel that he

needs to make his political opinions known.

He's simply doing what he's paid well to do and wishes others in the biz would too.

Since they continue to throw tantrums and trash Trump on a public stage, Russell reached

his breaking point and finally fired back hard.

"This is a business that's heavily promulgated by people who have a politically liberal bent,"

Russell began in his blistering beratement of these overpaid crybabies after what Streep

said at the Golden Globes.

"I don't begrudge them that.

I'm a libertarian; frankly, I think my liberalness goes far beyond theirs in a lot of ways,"

he added, as reported by the American Lookout.

"But yeah, we think differently, and maybe that's cut me out of some things.

I don't care," he said before dropping a brutal announcement on these Streep and

her lemmings that left them burning.

Explaining that they're not empowered in this business by their disgraceful attitudes

against our leaders, the badass actor said they better be prepared to put their money

where their nasty mouths are since they could be out of work.

"People know I get along great with all kinds of directors, all kinds of actors.

And I tell you, you hire me, I will show up, 24/7, and I will give you 100%.

I will help you fix whatever problems come up.

You hire me, I'm your boy.

It's just, it's all about the work.

And when that's done, I am done."

Kurt has said recently that "the last thing I like to watch is entertainers or actors

get political," which he just proved by clearly pointing out that nobody cares what

celebrities have to say about politics, and that their obnoxious behavior only shows how

unemployable they are.

They need to just stick to what they are overpaid to do and leave the rest to the adults in

charge.

happy Sunday everyone its Rob the backyard gardenerr here and you know what

I felt like I should go ahead and give you an update on my plum trees that I

started from seed they're four and a half months old now and I'm really

interested to get my viewers input on them and I'll tell you one looks like a

peach tree all of a sudden and the other one I'm confused on what I should do

next with it so let me go and flip the camera around take you into my indoor

grow room and show you these plum trees that I started from seeing at four and

half months old all right guys I believe my plum tree that I started from the

seed is probably outgrowing the grow room here as you can see up here he's

running out of space I could move him to a different shelf or I could lower the

shelves here change the configuration but at the end of the day he's getting

too big question for you this is what I'm thinking as you look around here

she's got a branch here and a branch here and I'm thinking and I know it's

not the best idea to top young fruit trees but I've really not had any

problems doing that and so I'm thinking I'm gonna top him just to promote some

more swelling of these lower branches I think I'm gonna top them off right

around here that way could buy some more time indoors or the only other option is

take him outdoors now get him used to the outside what do you guys think

should I top them a little bit? don't do anything just remove the shelves? or take

them outdoors and plant them you'll recall on the last update that I had to

cut off this first leader here and it's because it had the deformed leaves

matter of fact here's one more deformed leaf right here

but anyway ever since I've done that he's growing like a weed the new Leafs

the new growths look really good here's the irony of it you recall that I had

two of them and I topped one guys I don't know what's going on here but

these are not plum leaves that I can tell looks like somehow someway this

plum seed and maybe it's because it's from a store-bought fruit but it looks

like a peach

I mean the difference plum leaves those are peach leaves I mean I I guess I

could be wrong there's a lot of varieties a lot of species in plums but same

exact batch of store-bought plums you saw me cut them open to the first video

what is going on here so odd maybe it's a different variety of plum maybe it's a

maybe it's just a hybrid plum that's now gonna be a peach I don't know

but let me know your thoughts have you ever seen plum leaves that look like

peach leaves I mean I know they're in the same family of snow fruits so maybe

it's possible but that's that's a pretty big variance in what they look like but

anyway this guy was topped last time you recall and he's really shot up as well

so these guys are doing fantastic doing fantastic so I'm pretty happy

about the progress no matter what I really want to know your thoughts though

top him move the shelves to keep them indoors or just bite the bullet

let's get him outdoors and get him acclimated now crazy I would say and I'm

judging by the height from the top of the plant

he is so if my hands about 10 inches from there to there 20 yeah he's about

lower two feet he's probably 26 to 28 inches tall so

he's doing great growing fast four and a half months

already almost approaching three feet tall and he's been in a pot his entire

life so this guy I bet you if I got him outdoors he would take off anyway I

wanted to give you an update on him curious to hear your thoughts on this

peach / plum variety and what to do with this guy I've got a lot of people asking

me about my indoor growing setup and I don't want to spend a lot of time on it

today but I'll put a link down below of the rack and the Lighting's that I use

and I'm telling you guys this makes it real simple these lights and the rack

really give ample enough artificial sunlight to my plants all day as you can

see we'll catch you up on the next one and probably give an update at the end

of the month where they're officially five months old that way we can

see what's happened well there you have it everyone that's my plum trees from

seed update for today and I hope you enjoyed them

I plan on updating my apple tree series this weekend as well and I'll try to

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool: Reds dealt blow with top-four race to go to the wire

Liverpool stuttered when they needed to perform as they conceded vital points to Chelsea in a 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

The Reds are a side who relish a big-game atmosphere, and after sealing a 7-6 aggregate win over Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night will be buoyed as they head into another huge clash.

Though they lost in their second leg in Italy, and arrive having suffered back-to-back draws in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopps side will be aware of the stakes at Stamford Bridge.

A point will all but secure a place in Europes top tier for next season, and taking all three would guarantee another Champions League berth, though Chelsea will present a considerable challenge.

Klopp made one change to his side from midweek, as Jordan Henderson dropped to the bench and Trent Alexander-Arnold shifted forward into midfield.

This highlighted the need to perform in west London, but it ultimately proved a bridge too far for Klopps side in Fulham.

Klopp rests Henderson as Clyne comes into side at right-back Moses tees up Giroud to spring Chelsea opener at Stamford Bridge Reds struggle in tired second half with weary legs evident Liverpool still need to beat Brighton to guarantee top four.

The Reds controlled proceedings from kickoff, taking a patient approach in their buildup and seeking opportunities with long balls, with Roberto Firmino coming close early on.

Chelsea began to gain a foothold after the 10-minute mark, however, and Tiemoue Bakayoko was denied a clear opening by Olivier Giroud after a mixup in the box, before Marcos Alonso tested Loris Karius from range.

Sadio Mane stung the palms of Thibaut Courtois with a powerful effort, before the Belgian made a vital intervention to thwart Virgil van Dijk after Alexander-Arnolds resulting corner.

Despite the focus on Mohamed Salah in the buildup, Mane was the key man in the first half, with the Senegalese determined to beat Courtois for his 20th goal of the season.

But it proved to be the hosts who broke the deadlock, with ex-Liverpool winger Victor Moses beating Andy Robertson on the flank to deliver a cross for Giroud to head home in trademark fashion.

A difficult first half for Salah was compounded by a booking for an embarrassing dive, as the Reds lost their footing after a bright start to the game.

Chelsea kept up the momentum after the break, with the elusive Eden Hazard particularly impressive as he danced through the Liverpool back line with ease.

They had the ball in the back of the net again before the hour mark, but Antonio Rudigers effort was ruled out in a major let-off for the Reds.

Klopp took the initiative and replaced Clyne with Henderson soon after, with Alexander-Arnold returning to right-back after his more experienced counterparts difficult afternoon in his home city.

The pattern of the clash remained the same, however, with Chelsea the more threatening side, prompting Klopp to send on ex-Blues striker Dominic Solanke in pursuit of an equaliser.

Hendersons first-time delivery from deep almost saw Cesar Azplicueta divert the ball past Courtois, but the Belgian was in the right place to make the recovery.

Liverpool continued to push but Chelseas firm defence held on, with Klopp now needing wins in the final two games of the season to ensure a successful campaign.

Kanye West's Twitter account may have replaced Donald Trump's as the most watched in the

world.

The only consolation to the president, should this irk him, is that it's all because Kanye

deigned to praise President Trump, and slam former President Barack Obama.

While we've all seen plenty of tweets from the rap superstar in the news of late, this

one is probably his best:

In fact, Chicago may have gotten worse during that period.

But never mind that, at least as far as the media was concerned.

This didn't get as much play as his "dragon energy," remarks and it's easy to see

why unlike stuff that can be mocked and used to create a narrative about Kanye, this raises

an uncomfortable question about the city that both the former president and rapper have

called home.

In a series of tweets on Thursday that have since been deleted, another prominent Trump

supporter who's received flak Roseanne Barr stood, by the rapper's characterization

of the Windy City.

"(Kanye) is telling the truth about (Mayor Rahm Emanuel's) Chicago," the sitcom star

wrote, according to Breitbart.

"Ppl (sic) do not want to hear the truth-that Chicago could be a better city for its citizens,

but the establishment is corrupted."

In a follow-up tweet, she added, "Let's do something about #Chicago — all of us…

instead of hurling insults and division.

"Let's try efficient government and unity JUST THIS ONCE!"

That's unlikely to happen, of course, at least as long as the city remains in the hands

of Mayor Emanuel, formerly President Obama's chief of staff, who has overseen Chicago's

descent into America's gun crime capital despite some of America's most draconian

gun laws.

In fact, a 2017 study revealed that 20 percent of the increase in violent crime in the United

States could be traced to Chicago alone, and 10 percent of it to just five neighborhoods.

"Crime is incredibly geographically concentrated … which suggests that any sort of take on

what's causing this has to take an incredibly nuanced look because it's not just what

makes Chicago different from New York City, it's what makes one neighborhood in Chicago

different from other neighborhoods," John Pfaff, a law professor at Fordham University

in New York City, said at the time of the study's release.

The fact that it's geographically concentrated in Chicago, however, is no surprise.

During the Obama administration, which was supposedly a renaissance for African-Americans

in this country, Chicago saw a dramatic rise in crime.

It also also fell from seventh to 21st when it came to the percentage of black households

earning over $100,000 a year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

And yet, Cook County — the county where Chicago is located — also has the largest

number of black residents in the United States.

That number is dwindling, thanks to black flight from the city.

However, it raises the question: If Obama was so great for African-Americans, what the

heck happened to Chicago?

That's a question Kanye would like answered.

Roseanne wouldn't mind an answer, either, from the sound of things.

Sadly, that request is going to get lost in the media speculation over Kanye's sanity

and coverage of his other comments regarding slavery.

If the media's so willing to spend time on that, however, they should also be willing

to spend some time covering what's happened to the town Barack Obama likes to call home.

She became Acting Director following her predecessor Mike Pompeo's resignation to become the

U.S. Secretary of State.

Gina Haspel would be the CIA's first female director if chosen.

She must be confirmed by the Senate before she takes command of the spy agency from Mike

Pompeo, who is now serving as the Secretary of State.Haspel has avoided the limelight

during a 32-year career that has included stints running overseas "black sites"

where dangerous terrorists were waterboarded.

Trump tweeted in March that he had selected Gina Haspel to replace Mike Pompeo, who is

currently is serving as Secretary of State.

The President tweeted, "Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary

of State.

He will do a fantastic job!

We are in Merida, or, said in old latin… Augusta Emerita!

We are at the San Lázaro aqueduct.

The ancient Roman construction has disappeared.

The only part that remains are these two pillars.

They were the official access to the old city.

We are in the Roman Circus.

It was one of the biggest in the Roman world.

It had a capacity of 30,000 spectators.

Just behind us there is the "spina", that separated the circus during the "cuadrigas" races.

Here, Diocles started his career.

He was the best "auriga" (driver) in the Roman Empire.

So, we have the Fernando Alonso regarding cuadrigas,

but with a good car and horses, things that Fernando would like…

Amphitheater: Gladiators fought here.

There also were battles recreations and hunts.

In the gladiator fights people shouted "yugula", so, "kill him", or "berbera", "whip him" or "missus", "forgive him"…

We are now in the Roman Theatre:

It is possibly the most spectacular and well-known Roman building in Mérida.

It's hard to understand that this theatre was buried for ages.

In fact, it was used as a field! Just the second part of the building, these columns, were visible!

Although Mérida was populated beforehand, it was officially founded by the Emperor Octavio Augusto in 25 BC.

They called it "Emerita" because the Emperor gave a lot of fields here to the veteran legionnaries

who fought against the Cantabros.

We are in Mitreo's House.

The owners of this house were rich.

All of the rooms had mosaics on the floor.

Be sure to see the Cosmologican mosaic, it's one of the most beautiful of the Roman Empire.

Close to Mitreo's house, there are the columbarium.

It's a funerary area for two Roman families.

Romans believed in life after death.

That's why they followed a number of steps: for example, they buried the bodies with the eyes opened,

so they could see how their soul passes to the other life.

Besides, some objects were essential like a light shaft to help the soul to find the way to the afterlife

and a coin that they had to pay to Charon so that he let you pass across the lake.

Behind us there is the Guadiana River, or Anas, its Roman name.

there are a lot of bars and wineries that can be recommended.

Merida also has a Moorish past.

Now we are in the alcazaba, the oldest Moorish fortress on the peninsula.

Santa Eulalia Basilica. It's worth it to walk down into the crypt.

It's very funny because it first was a Roman house.

Later it was a necropolis and finally they built the basilica above.

We were lucky to come to Merida this weekend because they are celebrating Carnival.

It reminds us of the Cadiz carnival.

There are some groups of friends organized as "chirigotas", they sing on the street,

you will see that this party is really fun.

Thanks to our ambassador, Willy, we are going to get to know La Marara.

We are here with Zapa, founder of La Marara chirigota.

What's the difference between a chirigota and a comparsa?

A chirigota has fewer people, more informal, funnier… a comparsa is more serious.

How do you choose the topics?

We are thinking about them for the whole year.

The topic has to be current.

For example, this year, the Catalan issue has taken all our lyrics.

You have to meet a lot and to rehearse very often.

So, I understand the comparsa is a group of friends.

Yes, we are like a family. We have been together for 37 years.

We are now with Zamora.

How could we encourage people to come to Merida in Carnival?

Merida's carnival offers a lot of opportunities to "live the street".

This year there is a novelty: in Diana's temple there will be groups of "coplas"

singing songs devoted to our Roman history.

There is also a "tapa" contest to wink our gastronomy.

So, you know, fellow travelers, you have to come next year!

We walked a lot today, friends, because Merida has a lot to see and we concentrated it in just one day…

you have to know that the right thing is to do it at least in two days.

We are in a restaurant that they recommended, Rex Numitor.

We are in the Marara's headquarters with our ambassador, Willy.

Here, at my back, there is the Milagros aqueduct.

It was built in the first century.

It brought water from the Proserpina's reservoir to the city.

It's popularly called the "Miracles aqueduct" because they say it's a real miracle

that this aqueduct is still standing.

Well, mates, after yesterday was a really intense day, we slept in the Parador.
