Youtube daily May 8 2018

(electronic music)

- Google I/O is here and that means

we finally know what's happening with Android P.

Company's focusing on three things:

A simpler interface, an intelligent interface,

and this thing they're calling "digital well being".

What's that all about?

(electronic music)

So, the new Android P beta should be available

pretty much right away on a whole bunch of devices,

like seven or nine devices.

It's on the Google Pixel 2 XL, which I have here.

You can also get it on a OnePlus 6,

Nokia phones, et cetera, et cetera.

Anyway, I wanna show you the most obvious thing

you're gonna see on this beta of Android P

because, oh my god, they took the home button away.

So, what you do is you give it a little swipe up

and that takes you to the overview screen.

All of your apps are listed horizontally here.

They're even live, so you can, like, long press on something

and have it do a search for that thing,

or copy the text or whatever, which is kind of cool.

If you give it a longer swipe up, or a second swipe up,

it takes you to all of your apps.

And it lists your most-used apps or, sorry,

the AI-detected apps, what they think you're

gonna wanna use, right there at the top.

And that's also in this half swipe up down here

at the bottom, which is pretty neat.

There's a little tab, also, for your work apps.

So if you really want to, you can just

turn those damn things off, because who wants work apps?

One last little clever thing with that button,

if you just slide it over to the right,

you can get to that list of your most recent apps

to jump into them.

So it's a really quick way to switch between apps.

And then, of course, when you're in an app,

the home button is there.

To go home, you can just tap it to go home.

And, the good old back button is there, too,

if you want the back button.

Notifications: things are basically the same,

but there are some really nice updates.

So, if you start dismissing stuff a bunch,

eventually it'll ask you if you just wanna

stop seeing those notifications.

You can long press on a notification

instead of remembering that weird little

swipe over to get to settings.

And then there's just a plain old

"manage notifications" button at the bottom.

When you tap on that, it takes you to a list

of your most recent notifications

and then you can just turn those things off

because they've been annoying you lately.

So it's a much faster way to handle notifications.

Now, this is just some of the stuff on Android P.

There's a lot more.

There's all the stuff about digital well being,

there's a bunch of AI stuff.

And so I want to talk about that stuff now.

(chill electronic music)

Now, because this is Google and because Google

can't string more than five words together

without saying the words "AI",

we're talking about AI again.

AI is built into Android in a few different ways.

There's a new machine-learning kit

so that you can make your own intelligent apps,

and that works on both Android and iOS, actually.

But, in Android itself, AI is gonna watch

what apps you use and then shut them down intelligently

to save battery life.

It's also gonna adjust your

brightness automatically for you.

I don't know, saying that that's AI feels a little

bit buzz-wordy and a little bit overkill,

but it should, hopefully, give you better

battery life in the end.

What are some of the things that are more intelligent

that's happening on the phone now?

- Right, and so, there's the whole premise of this

is, you know, we think smart, we call them smart phones,

but, you know what, they could be a lot smarter.

- Okay. (laughs) - And they could be

a lot more intelligent and, you know, what does that mean?

Well, in our case, it's really we think

the phone should adapt to you.

One area that we've worked on which I like a lot

is what we call "adaptive battery".

It's a project we did with DeepMind.

It uses on-device machine learning

to figure out which apps you're gonna launch next

and which ones you're not gonna launch for a couple hours,

and which you may not do 'til the evening, if at all.

That's one example.

Another is auto brightness.

Now, in pretty much every modern smart phone today,

we'll look at, it has a light sensor

and it will adjust the brightness depending on the light.

But it doesn't take into account you're preferences, right?

Or your environment.

And so what we've done, it'll actually learn

how you move the brightness, given different

lighting conditions and then it will do it for you.

- So, one of the things that Google's doing in Android P

is they're introducing these new terms.

There's a "slice" and there's an "action".

And they're basically deep links, which means

that an app has got something you want to do

deep down inside the app, but you wanna do it

somewhere else in the operating system.

So if you do a search for Lyft,

it just surfaces a link to just go home

and it jumps right into the app to do that.

Or, if you want, if you are opening up your app drawer,

there's a couple little things inside the app row

at the top that lets you jump right into some action

you do all the time.

Like, you know, call your significant other

or open up Seamless when you get home

because, let's be honest,

you're gonna open up Seamless when you get home.

You're lazy as hell.

Those are all the whizbang features that

are gonna make you more productive with your phone

and use your phone more and they're all great.

But, Google's doing this whole other thing

that's designed to get you to use your phone less.

- Digital well being, for us, is a theme,

is a set of capabilities we're putting into Android

to help people become more aware

of how they're using their device.

And then be in control, have a set of controls,

where they can decide how they want

to change that behavior.

So one of the ways you're doing that is you have this thing.

What do you call it, the dashboard?

- [Sameer] Yeah, there's a dashboard.

- Is it just a lot more checkboxes

for people to have to look at?

Like, are you finding that people are actually

finding value in this thing?

- The first step is awareness.

And that dashboard is pretty straight forward.

It shows you how much time you spent on your phone each day,

what apps you spent that time in,

how many times you unlocked your phone,

how many notifications you've received.

And then it lets you drill down on those things.

And then the next piece of it is:

okay, so how can the software help me

if I want to change my behavior?

So that's where we're putting a bunch of capabilities

we're calling, you know, user controls.

So, you can set a time limit on the amount of time

you want to spend in an app.

And so I could say, for example, I only wanna spend

thirty minutes a day in YouTube or in Instagram,

or my favorite game, maybe Subway Surfer, right?

And another situation that we find people

really talked to us a lot about was

trying to be fully present for something.

And the phone, perhaps, not helping with that.

So, Do Not Disturb's being improved where I can...

When I turn on Do Not Disturb,

now all the visual interruptions go away.

- So it doesn't show notifications on lock screen.

Not only does it not vibrate, it doesn't

show anything at all. - No vibrations.

Basically, no interruptions.

- So after that really brief look at Android P,

what do I think?

Well, I'm kind of hopeful.

I really love the idea of exploding apps

out into the rest of the phone,

so that you can just do a search and jump

right to the thing you wanna do.

And, I'm really intrigued by the idea of using apps less

'cause, I don't know, I use Twitter way too much.

If you take those two ideas together, what's really

interesting is Google's trying to set up a system

where you think about your phone less.

Both because it does stuff for you automatically

through AI, and because you just use your phone less.

And maybe we could all stand to do that.

But even though I'm hopeful, that doesn't mean I'm naive.

Android has a huge update problem; it always has.

And the theory is that this new Treble system

they've developed is going to get it on more phones sooner.

We're making a good step here.

It's gonna shop up on, like, seven manufacturers

in beta right away.

And we should have it on a bunch of phones,

not just Pixel phones, by the end of the year.

But, Google has to execute because every year,

we see a great new version of Android

and then we have to wait to get it on the phones

that everybody buys: Samsung phones.

I would really like to see them fix that

this year with Android P.

Thank you so much for watching.

If you like this video, there's another video

over at Verge Science you should definitely watch.

It's about eye charts and are they actually useful

for helping you see if your vision's any good

and why they're always all the same.

You should go check it out.

Natasha Lyonne Finds Exercise Highly Humiliating - CONAN on TBS - Duration: 3:54.

You look fantastic.

Thank you. You look like

you take very good care of yourself.

Thank you so much for noticing.

No, I mean that. (audience laughs)

Yeah. But you also look like,

I have people on the show that look like,

and they tell me, oh I love working out.

They love doing it.

You strike me, your personality is

you're not a person that wants to work out.

No, and I'm not.

Thank you so much for saying so.

(audience laughs) Thank you for noticing

that my physique is like a person who exercises

and my personality is not.

That is a typology that I strive to really transmit.

(Conan laughs) Thank you so much.

Kate Mulgrew who plays Red on Orange, she always says,

"I don't believe you work out," in character she says to me.

And I think that's

because I exercise exclusively in the dark.

I try to not be found exercising.

I'll walk into a gym class.

I like gym classes that are very dark

and I put in ear plugs, I go to the back corner,

I found the whole thing highly humiliating.

Modern people, what do they like?

They like putting on Katy Perry or something, high-fiving.

I don't like that kind of a thing.

I find that very minimi lazing as a human being.

I don't wanna high-five you. (audience laughs)

If, let's say, you're the gym instructor which I think of,

then if you come up to me in the middle of the class

and my eyes are closed, I'm just trying to make it through,

just survive by the skin of my teeth.

Then you suddenly high-five me, I'm terrified.

I find that terrifying.

Are you talking about a spin class.

Is that what you're talking about?

Vaguely but I was trying to be non-specific on purpose,

ya know, for shame. Okay.

Because I went to a spin class once and I love to ride.

I ride a bike like out in the world.

But I went to a spin class.

My wife loves spin class and she's like, you gotta try it.

I went there and there was too much enthusiasm in the room.

That's what was getting me.

That's what I don't like!

And the woman at the front was going like,

"Come on, everybody, oh oh!"

And everyone was like, "Oh, oh!"

I hate that! And like,

"Come on everybody!"

Where do you want me to go, I'm on the bicycle.

Know what I mean? Yeah.

And why is it even orchestrated this way?

Incidentally I saw a great video of you guys

over the weekend at a party involving wrestling

which I just wanna let you know.

You were dressed like a sort of a turkey or something.

What are you talking about? Oh, oh, yeah.

From the Mexico show.

Oh! From Mexico.

Yeah, yeah. That's what it was.

I thought you had a stroke.

Yes, yes, yes, also I had a stroke.

But I'm back, baby!

Andy and I when we did our Mexico show,

we did Mexican wrestling and we dressed up.

We were Luchadores. We were Luchadores.

Now I do have another, I just think of it

because we're exercising and you guys were in leotards.

I do have a wonderful trainer, Joe Holder,

but he also trains proper super models

like Naomi Campbell and stuff.

I'm always wondering when is the part

where I get to be like Naomi Campbell which is why

I think the amount of complaining is turning into

a sort of Larry David of the gym.

That's why I feel like I don't go.

I don't wanna be jumping, I don't wanna work too hard.

I feel like there's people there, the lights are on.

Naomi is always on his Instagram.

I feel like I'm never featured.

(Andy and audience laugh)

I'm wondering what I'm not doing that's not accomplishing--

What are you wearing when you work out?

Do you wear the cool workout clothes?

There's a whole look. A blazer, a blazer.

A blazer. (Andy and audience laugh)

A blazer, a T-shirt that says Gold Gym.

Ya know, bell bottoms and Gucci loafers.

And let me guess, you're smoking the whole time.

And I'm smoking and I'm like,

hey you do the push-ups baby.

(all laugh) That's how I exercise.

I love it, that's the way to do it.

(audience woots and claps)

There's a really weird story

I wanted to share with you coming out of Germany.

(fast rock music)

A politician from Hamburg Germany.

I'm sorry where is that music coming from?

Do you hear that music Andy?

Yeah a little bit I guess,

I mean it's not that loud.

(audience laughing)

Andy it is loud,

what's going on with your lectern,

what is that?

Oh oh this, okay well listen

you know how my cousin was arrested by park rangers

for doing that really

creepy thing in Griffith Park?

No.

Well my family's collecting bail money to get

my cousin out of jail and to replace the RV

that he damaged and to buy that little girl a new pony.

So I thought I'd make some extra money

by getting a sponsor for my lectern.

(fast rock music)

Tonight's lectern is sponsored

by Gold Winner 10-in-1 sport gel for men.

Andy I didn't approve any of this.

Well yeah that's why I didn't ask you.

(audience laughing)

Is it okay if I show the add for the body gel?

No Andy it's not okay.

Thanks Conan roll it Billy.

[Billy] Real guys don't buy

10 bottles when they can buy just one.

Introducing Gold Winner 10-in-1 Sports Gel for men.

10-in-1!

[Billy] 10-in-1!

(audience laughing) (audience applauding)

So well what do you think?

That is awful.

That's terrible and now you're stuck

with that stupid lectern.

Oh no I'm not because 10-in-1

Sports Gel is also very flammable.

(audience applauding)

See!

The Explosive Gunpowder Art of Dino Tomic - Duration: 1:33.

My name is Dino Tomic and I work mostly with gunpowder.

Normally I do work as a tattoo artist and overall artist.

I've been doing gunpowder art for about a year.

Working with gunpowder, it requires a lot of patience.

people don't really have a guidebook how to do it

so I needed to figure out everything step by step myself.

So the first step here is to find the image that actually fits the gunpowder process.

Second step is to find a suitable surface which is a wooden plate.

It means that the grains when they burned they burned themselves into the plate.

Then we fill up our little bottle which contains only the gunpowder

which helps us gather around the gunpowder flakes where they need to be.

When they're on the plate itself, I used a tiny scissor and I moved those

grains around to create the final image that I'm gonna set fire on.

And at the very end then we set image on fire.

I love discovering a new way of working and making things, and that's really interesting for me.

New Mosasaurus Vs TRex Playmobil Action 9091 and 9090 RC Vehicles Vs Dinosaurs Jurassic World 2 - Duration: 10:53.

New Mosasaurus Vs TRex Playmobil Action 9091 and 9090 RC Vehicles Vs Dinosaurs Jurassic World 2

chief the Flynn will build cars what's going

okay it's great to see you again I'm so glad you came back we've got two awesome

toys today Playmobil sent me these awesome remote-control cars this is the

first time that I know of the Playmobil actually made remote-control cars so

we're gonna go ahead and check these out so it says Playmobil action Bluetooth

4.0 so I guess you could connect it with an app or use the remote control it says

it's got light effects this is German so anyways we're gonna go ahead and open

that up check it out and then we're gonna also go ahead and open up this one

this is the Playmobil action 9 0 9 0 ah this is a seven piece set so I guess

you could take it apart it does come with the remote or we could control it

through the app once again most of that is German

English Wow okay well anyways let's open okay so this is what's in the package

before I take anything out it also does include a little racecar Playmobil

racecar driver and a set of instructions okay then in the second one let's see

what we get in this one okay so once again awesome car with working lights

remote and driver with the beard and a set of instructions cool let's go ahead

and check okay so let's go ahead and check out these awesome remote cars

bro Playmobil so uh so what I know these are the first one Playmobil made I mean

I don't that making or

so they really did a great job with them on this one here there you've got

forward reverse and you could control was speed they go slip here we got like

a younger kid you could set it on low speed or you have an older kid and and

on high speed here you've got the different speed settings from one to

five just simply push up here down here so there's a simple control up moves

forward back down is reverse left-right

and it's really cool each of them comes with a little

this guy's like a white guy fight your helmet

ready to go so nice big rubber tires on the front obviously this one the

Roadster eight cylinder you can see the big pipes come out the Indiana says

eighth year for like an Eightball you do have lights on these so when you're

driving it if you like go to stop and forward or reverse the lights do turn on

so they are like brake lights

okay so uh that's really cool that the top pops off look at the other side look

at the front it's got like the lights look like they're made out of glass that

is really cool and it does use for triple-a batteries so that's that's one

thing that's little unusual go ahead and turn this one off and turn on the other

one so you could use the same control for both if you want to

I guess not you do have to use different remotes for different cars so once again

the same thing with this one you have the low in the high speed so if you go

too low it's going to move

might be going a little low because I was driving it outside as you seen the

video earlier or fast but fast is all walk faster does come with a cool little

Playmobil driver here the helmet pops off you can see this one's in like a

racing outfit so go ahead put the helmet back on

driver back in his seat so that's that's cool I like the fact that they gave the

little driver that is awesome and then uh nice oversized rubber tires

the ones in the back are large the front you've got number 78 here this looks all

alike a dune buggy so that is cool now this one too it does have working life

so here you can see why when you stop pushing it the brake light turned on it

is a lot brighter than that this is set up for whites my set

bottom once again this one for so if you have rechargeable batteries

that's the best and then you got to triple-a so that is a little bit unusual

because usually you don't get triple-a

okay that was totally intuitive playful feel hard right drastic world and

chasing each other yeah

majority are dressed world dressed for Godzilla

King Kong and a lot for check out the playlist on

my channel for wait to this video ends to see more ballin

place you guys are awesome I will see you tomorrow

in today's secret word is the word

go ahead and put that in the comment section down below the video I know you

Secrets of Quantum Physics and Bhagavad Gita || You Are Not The Body - Duration: 4:03.

Lord Krishna to Arjun in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 22.

Explanation by Swami Vivekananda: As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones,

the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

Life is an illusion.

It's a controversial claim that belongs to Einstein.

The claim has more and more supporters in the scientific world, in the sense that it

is an illusion generated by each one's consciousness.

Life is eternal, it does not end when the physical body stop living.

Hey there, This is Bhaskar Banerjee and you are watching YouTube Channel Bhaskban.

Researcher Robert Lanza supports this theory in his book Biocentrism.

Lanza was part of the team that cloned the first human embryo in 2011.

His theory is based on quantum physics.

Biology and life are the origin of reality and of the Universe and not the other way

round.

Time is a life-created entity that notices it.

Lanza also maintains that there are several realities supported by different levels of

consciousness.

Life does not die in time and space, but only in our consciousness.

The difference between past, present and future is an illusion.

Immortality is out of time.

Biocentrism formulates hypotheses according to which there are a multitude of universes,

where there are variations of people and similar events.

The idea of ??immortality exists in a space without spatial or linear boundaries.

Biocentrism is the theory of everything, it is the center of life.

Consciousness creates the world we live in.

If we look at the Universe from an biocentric point of view, space and time do not behave

in a rigid manner and as fast as consciousness, they are mental constructs in which eternity

exists indefinitely.

Without consciousness, matter is undefined.

An experiment in 2002 demonstrated that two remote photons are quantum-connected to each

other and each one anticipates what happens to his pair.

Lanza claims that energy can not be created or destroyed, only transformed, according

to the first law of thermodynamics.

A man's consciousness is preserved to death in the form of a 20-watt energy, even if the

body is destroyed.

This energy is not dissipated in nature, because there is no reality outside of consciousness.

Every man creates his own realm of reality.

Therefore, this energy has no place to disappear to our death, but travels from one world to

another, thus rendering immortality the essence of every human being.

"Sinking Ships" in the Spreewald | VLOG | TVG - Duration: 14:19.

Yep, I know

Hello and Welcome to a new Video

We are now in the "Spreewald", we will stay here for a weekend and take you with us...

"Those boats are pretty cool"

Radio: "Wait on the corner, the other boat is blocking the way through, I will follow"

Radio: *Silence*

Radio: "Repeat that please!"

Radio: " I will wait here for a second, you can go on"

Experiment: paddle whilst kneeling in the boat. I´m putting our stuff in a waterproof box for safety...

"just try it"

Very good idea!

*weird sound and laughter*

now we try to get secure everything and return back

"is the radio dead?" "What?"

*random talk*

"My boat is now laying deeper in the water" "How surprising xD"

We now made it back, will rest here for some time, get dinner, and probably do another trip after that!"

*later*

"we are now going to make a short trip on the other side of the river"

"get the rope in"

*misses*

"I was about to say it would be bad if it gets wet xD"

"Greetings from the campyard. We finished paddling, we are now preparing the next trip and the way back and I´ll see you tomorrow ;)

"Its the next morning. We finished with breakfast and will now go on paddling"

"Interesting. If you already were paddling, your hands will hurt even if you just start paddling..."

"We now came back from the last trip and will get ready to leave"

*quite difficult...*

"We are on our way back now. Please tell me if oyu were in the Spreewald one time in the comments. See you in the next video and bye ;)"
