welcome everyone I'm Ricky from Tech Talk and you may have just purchased
your brand-new Honor view 20 today is a basics video just showing you key
aspects you may need to know before you get started and really enjoy this brand
new device with so many great new features such as a brand new pinhole
notch design there now and also the massive 48 megapixel camera you're going
to find on the back loads more about that in my review and camera tests or
what's out for that but today I want to show you some key basics on the honor
view 20 and first of all what's actually inserting your SIM card so this what we
need to do to power our device off so pressing holding the power we're going
to turn our device off here make sure they always turn off your device so
using the sim tool that was provided and also this device is a dual SIM this
device can take two SIM cards there is no micro SD card storage option for this
device and it uses a nano sized SIM card so looking down the left-hand side near
the top here is our sim tray take the tool that you was given in the box and
we're just gonna put it in this hole here but straight down you'll see your
tray come out and I just pull this out and here is your dual SIM tray when your
SIM cards are inserted they should look like this the gold plates are facing
underneath and also the cuff edges are down at the bottom right hand corner so
when placing back into your device make sure you hold nice and straight don't
tip it upside down return this back to your device which all the way in and
make sure it's securely in that's that power button back on again when turned
back on you'll be pulled into the menu option here so one of my sim cards I
need to choose if it's a monthly or if it's contract its contract which is fine
then here we go we can see we've got Vodafone UK and then you've got a EE as
well so they're both working here which is great I can then choose which one I
want to use as a default SIM and you have other options as well you've got
dual SIM 4G connection you can turn that on or off you can change the name as
well here if you so wish to and again you can change and adjust the settings
depending on your choice on what you want to choose for dual SIM taking a
closer look here if you look at the top it's got Vodafone and E and then you
have some signal bars there as well so now you've just inserted your SIM card
but when you're at home or in a Wi-Fi area that you know and trust I recommend
turning on the Wi-Fi settings you've got Wi-Fi bar up here at the top so if you
press this it's gonna then turn blue which means it's on but if you press and
hold it's going to show you all the available network
in around your area so mine is the top one from Sky so I'm going to click on
this and it's going to ask you to insert your password which you should know or
if not look on the back of your Rooter box and it should be there once your
password is inserted hit connect it will then stay connected and good quality
which is nice to know I can go back home and then I'm using my Wi-Fi network here
and I'm saving my data from them Joule Simms or saving my data from a single
sim depending what you are using I pull down now it will be highlighted in blue
and it will say the network I am connected to so now you know that is
connected to that Network securely and you can use data without interrupting
your data from your sim cards also in here there's the ability of changing
your widgets for multiple different uses you can also change your brightness and
this has the high brightness of 500 nits on your display you can also connect to
a Bluetooth device pressing and holding will take you into your bluetooth menu
here and you can connect your Bluetooth devices and it will start searching for
you obviously I've connected to some devices and it's coming up with other
devices that are near me around me now again very easy to do so coming back
home at the bottom you're going to find three competitive touch buttons you've
got a home button you've got back button you've got menu button so with this it's
showing open applications you can dismiss one by one or hit down here at
the bottom and that would dismiss all the back button is as what it says it
will take you back and the home button always take you home I stand holding
will launch Google it has Google assistant on here so what's the weather
tomorrow in Paris tomorrow's forecast for Paris is 3 degrees with snow with
brief sleet so coming home again it takes me back home so looking at our
home screen here - rather large could obtains the display size and the text
size so I can read it for the purpose of my videos but you can change and adjust
your home screen depending however you want it it comes with this default
wallpaper and it comes in a set style we come across to the far left hand side
you've got Google News and news articles that relates to you which is really nice
to know coming back and scrolling through again you have some applications
here you also have an application drawer here as well the full of list of
applications and you can scroll down by letter and you can see which
applications you need again pressing that back button will take us back we
touch and hold here so this will bring up further customizable options one is
wallpapers you have them widgets transitions and
then home screen settings let's have a look at wallpapers so inside wallpapers
we have a rain of wallpapers that you can change and
adjust to here and you can choose which one's your favorite so let's change this
nice green one here so tick the little tick down here and we're gonna set this
as our home screen it's gonna save that and then we can go back home and we've
got a new design now to our home screen you can then change and move your
applications around so you've tap and hold an application you can then move
that maybe up there if you want to that stays there you can have ones in certain
areas I can then move this Google bar for want to move that maybe up there I
can move the time and however I want to if I want to add a different widget so
if I come along to this page here I'm gonna actually have a new page now we're
gonna go into widgets and we're gonna go into calendar and I want to see like in
a schedule type that there they go the schedule is on there ready to go
straightaway which is really good I can then move that schedule around if I so
wish to to remove a widget you don't want any more tap and hold and simply
take up the top until you see it goes read it all dismissed there for you
there's a lot of different widget options to choose from inside here and
depending on the applications you use obly or widget for it in transitions you
can show different features of moving from screen to screen and one of the
cool ones is windmill over here at the end if I go home here if I just add this
screen in and they'll go home you can see it sort of flies around like a
window which is really cool I like that that's a great feature there so you can
change and adjust these depending on your choice and there's loads to choose
from you have home screen settings inside here you can change and adjust
the settings depending on your choice and you've got layouts as well that you
can set different grid sizes so coming back home using at home button that's
how to change and modify your different apps or modify your wallpaper and make
the device more about you and it is all about you as well and with this gorgeous
display you're gonna want to show as much of it as possible one other thing
you can do is either have the app drawer like this or you can have all the
applications just on a single page as well so to do this go into settings in
the search box it's easier to just search for this and actually search for
home screen style so this shows that you can either have a drawer or you can have
it as standard the choice is yours let's go back to standard so you've seen it
once I'm back home that draw button is now gone so the applications are now
gone and they're all here pulling down you can then search for your
applications as well if you need to search for them but that's
nice option also I want to talk about the knotch as well you can change the
notch style as I said it's a brand new 0.5 mil pinhole notch on the top there
it's very small anyway you can change it so in the settings again search for
knotch click on notch here so you can either
have it as standard as it is now or if you press this button here you can see a
black bar goes across the top so the choice is yours me personally but just a
notch it's fine it's so small and when you're playing games when it's round
this way you don't even notice it because you are covering it so easy to
do also inside here is full screen display what you need to do is allow
certain applications to use full screen display this means it will push it right
edge to edge for you so when you're watching YouTube that looks beautiful
and it's really pushed edge to edge so let's show you that now let's have a
look at the unboxing of the currently at the moment we have bars either side but
if I pinch outwards there you go it's a full view display now and you're with
that brand new or viewed display and it's fantastic to use and that pinhole
there especially with this background I'm using black here it's hardly
noticeable which is great as well when you first set up your device it will ask
you to sign in with a Google account or create one this is so you can use all of
these applications from Google and also all the features on the device that
Android P gives you so I recommend doing that if not sign up for one it's very
easy just take your time remember your passwords and make sure it's secure so
when you've done that you'll get access to the Google account and you'll get
loads of great features such as Google photos with Google Maps Google Drive and
the Google Play Store so the Google Play Store is where you download all of your
apps games movies TV shows up to whatever you need so let's jump in and
show you now so at the moment it's got the applications up and you can just
simply download an application so if we go in here to this application if you
tap install so when it says install that's free it will have a price next to
it as well if it's a paid application and you will need to link a paying
system so once that's downloaded you can either hit open or we can go back home
come across and it's down here as well for you obviously I've got other games
such as Pokemon go as well and other great games are available on this device
depending on you choice they're coming back in and let's
take a look at movies along the top is different colors as well which is really
good for movies and TV shows so inside movies and TV shows you can
look through and find the one you want to look at I'm interested in make here
and it has traded for you to play at the top so you can hit that trailer you can
see your buy price you can see the rent prices well like I said you will need to
link the pain system to this device once in music you do get the option of google
music for 30 days that you can use but please remember that it's a subscription
or you can buy albums individually so click on an album you can also preview
the album as well by clicking the play button you'll get preview you can buy
individual songs and see reviews so that is the Google Play Store and I really
recommend that you use that and enjoy it to download all the content you need
want and gonna love on this device another feature in settings that I want
to show you is system navigation so I have the three compacity of touch
buttons you can have gesture control or you can have a navigation dot so it's up
to you let's go to gesture control now the buttons have disappeared I just
swipe up to go home I swipe back to go back and then also if I swipe up and
hold it'll bring up my opener applications there for me remember touch
that bottom one and it will dismiss all applications for us that are open then
finally to wrap up this video I just want to talk about accessibility as you
may see my the screen is slightly larger and that's due to me being registered
blind so accessibility options are right at the beginning that you can change and
add adjust to your disability if you so need them if you do need to change them
go into settings go all the way down to something called smart assistant go into
accessibility you have a whole range of options here to change and adjust
depending on your use of your device it's very easy very simple to do also
there is a shortcut that you can press and hold the two volume keys at the side
to turn on talkback and this will talk back everything for your device and
navigate you to wherever you need to go I hope you enjoyed the basics of the
honor view 20 and welcome to a beautiful device I hope you really enjoy it thanks
always for watching if you're new to channel hit subscribe and remember to
hit the notification bell stay updated with all my latest videos from me Ricky
I'll see you very soon bye for now
