Problem-based learning - Duration: 5:13.

Problem-based learning, or PBL for short, is an educational approach that's collaborative

and built around solving a complex real-life "problem" or scenario that you might come

across in a professional setting.

Now, in traditional teaching, there's teacher who stands in front of a big group of students

and gives a lecture while the students scramble to listen, understand, and remember everything

teacher is saying.

It can be hard to keep track all of that new information, let alone really absorb it.

In contrast, problem-based learning is designed to teach students how do teach themselves

while becoming master problem solvers along the way!

The classroom looks like this: a handful of students work in small groups exploring real-life

scenarios with the guidance of a tutor.

Problem-based learning is often used in medical education where students work through clinical

cases based on real life patients.

As an example, let's say that our problem-based learning case describes a 72-year-old man

who has chest pain.

The student-doctors start thinking about this problem by brainstorming a list of follow

up questions.

Where exactly is the pain?

When did it start?

Are there any other symptoms?

What is the past medical, drug, and family history?

Could the patient have a heart, gastrointestinal, lung or even musculoskeletal problem?

Over the course of the session, the case might include lab data, pictures, videos or even

a real life patient actor who will answer their questions.

Together, the students figure out what they already know and where they may have gaps

in their knowledge.

Many questions start threads of information that lead to more questions and more threads

and it can quickly evolve into a giant tangled spider web of knowledge and questions!

All of the information and these questions are tracked by a student scribe either on

a whiteboard or a shared document online.

Many groups also create concept maps to organize their thoughts, to help untangle the web,

and that helps mirror how our brains work to construct knowledge.

So while the students are asking questions about the problem, creating and tangling and

untangling information - where's the tutor and what's their job?

Well, the tutor supports self-directed learning by facilitating the process, generally staying

in the background, and strategically directing the discussion to get students to dig deeper

into the material.

The tutor also helps make sure that everyone is participating, collaborating, and thinking

critically about the problem.

Rarely do tutors provide actual information.

At the end of the discussion, the group makes a list of learning issues- or "how" and

"why" questions that need to be researched before the next session.

For our 72 year old man, the group might research: How exactly does the heart pump blood?

Why do heart attacks cause pain?

Students divide up the list of learning issues and head off to research on their own.

Now before the next class each student gathers information from online resources and books

and shares it with the rest of the group.

That way, when the students meet up again, they can dive right in and apply the new information

to the case.

This critical step provides students with the opportunity to weave individual concepts

together to get a deeper and richer understanding of the material by putting it into the larger

conceptual framework of the case and our web! - which becomes stronger, more organized,

and more easily remembered!

The case might be revealed in a single day or over several sessions.

Either way, students continue to build and iterate on their knowledge webs, applying

what they learned and clarifying anything that's unclear.

By actively engaging in learning through problem solving, students do more than memorize content;

they also learn how to work together to build a strong web of interconnected information

which they use to solve real world problems.

Additionally, students master meaningful skills like teamwork, critical thinking, lifelong

learning, and communication.

All right, as a quick recap, through problem-based learning students can examine cases or problems,

follow their curiosity to answer specific questions that come up as they explore, and

collaborate with their group to share and learn information.

In this way they can actively construct complex webs of knowledge which helps them remember

the information that they use to solve this problem and the next one too!

National Guard Storms Mexico Border, Makes Game-Changing Impact In Just 30 Days - Duration: 4:41.

National Guard Storms Mexico Border, Makes Game-Changing Impact In Just 30 Days.

A major game-changing incident took place after the National Guard stormed the border

to protect the immigration laws, and defend citizens from having nearly 2,000 people break

into America illegally.

America is a land of laws and those wishing to immigrate to the country must follow the

proper laws and protocol, because people cannot simply walk in without following the rules.

Thanks to the National Guard arriving at the border to help lend a hand to the roving tribe

of potential illegal immigrants, The U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers were

able to arrest 1,600 extra people, who were trying to allegedly cross the border illegally.

Out of those 1,600 it's unknown how many people have criminal records, but they were

all about to have a criminal record if they broke into a country illegally.

The National Guard helped protect the border and provided the extra manpower, that was

needed to keep the situation under control.

It was reported that the level of criminal activity has slowed due to the agents being

present.

The Washington Examiner provided this information about the border situation: "U.S. Customs,

and Border Protection officers have apprehended an additional 1,600 people, attempting to

illegally enter the country from Mexico since April 15, as a result of the deployment of

National Guard troops to the southwest border, CBP and defense officials said Wednesday.

National Guard officials overseeing the border state deployments said, troops helping monitor

the international boundary have freed up more border agents to physically guard the border.

The result has led to a surge in the amount of criminal activity agents have stopped.

The increased surveillance and communication between guardsmen, and border officers also

led to CBP intercepting an additional 451 people, who were turned back before illegally

entering the U.S.

Those numbers could tick up considerably if the 4,000 National Guard troops President

Trump approved on April 4 are called on in a future request from CBP.

As of Wednesday, 775 troops have been deployed and are on the ground providing "direct

support on the ground", in seven sectors assisting law enforcement officers.

Troops are providing support from the air, surveillance back-up, and assistance with

infrastructure projects like vegetation clearing and road maintenance, not including to the

border wall construction.

Another task is to specifically free up agents to leave their desks and get back out to the

field.

The troops monitoring remote video surveillance systems have then been able to report sightings

to a greater field of agents and thus, the number of apprehensions has increased, officials

said.

"Those folks are giving us the additional situational awareness in the radio rooms,

which are allowing the Border Patrol agents sitting in those areas to go into the field,"

said one National Guard official, who described the addition of the Guard as a "force multiplier"

for the CBP.

"As a reminder, these guardsmen are not carrying out law enforcement duties," an

official representing the Texas National Guard said.

Guardsmen have been deployed to the following Border Patrol sectors: 200 to the Rio Grande

Valley, 120 to Laredo, 90 to Del Rio, 70 to Big Bend, 110 to El Paso, 135 to Tuscon, and

50 to Yuma.

In late April, the California National Guard said 200 guardsmen were in training at Camp

Roberts, and would be deployed in early May.

Around 55 troops are already working in those sectors.

The deployment is funded through the end of fiscal year 2018, September 30.

Ronald Vitiello, CBP deputy commissioner, said in April the intent of the mission is

for CBP to regain operational control of the border."

With the deployment being funded through to the end of the fiscal year of 2018, that means

the law should likely be upheld for quite a while, until it's time to renew the budget

or the illegal swarm backs off and follows the law.

Some critics are upset that America won't simply allow people to break into the country,

but borders exist for reasons and permit the land to adhere to their laws.

Some people want borderless countries, but that would result in absolute chaos much like

what's happening to Germany, Sweden, and London where they have been ravaged by refugees.

Feminists Attack Ben Shapiro Over Story About His Daughter, He Schools Them With The Facts - Duration: 4:40.

Feminists Attack Ben Shapiro Over Story About His Daughter, He Schools Them With The Facts.

On Mother's Day, conservative writer Ben Shapiro shared a heart-warming story involving

his 4-year-old daughter.

Naturally, the feminist harpies on Twitter tried to tear him apart.

It didn't take long before they were eating their words.

In this day and age, young, inspiring conservative leaders are lighting up the Internet.

From Milo Yiannopoulos to Candace Owens, these thought leaders are using social media to

expand their considerable influence.

That includes Ben Shapiro, editor of Daily Wire and syndicated radio host.

Like many other influential conservatives, Shapiro uses social networking sites like

Twitter to share his views.

The left cannot stand that there are so many smart, entertaining, and likable conservatives

gaining popularity online.

It's why they work so hard to censor and bully them.

Despite their best efforts, leaders like Shapiro continue to gain steam.

This Mother's Day weekend, Shapiro took the opportunity to share a story about his

4-year-old girl.

Most people who read it found it heart-warming and appropriate, given the day.

Not liberals.

Ben Shapiro shared an adorable story about his 4-year-old daughter on Mother's Day,

but since this is Twitter, it was immediately met with scorn and ridicule from the blue-check

mob.

[Source: Twitchy] How could anyone find that story offensive?

Considering this was on Mother's Day, it was a pitch-perfect story to share.

His sweet, young daughter wants to grow up to become a loving, nurturing mother.

Most likely, this is in thanks to her mother, who has shown her nothing but love and attention.

In any other era, this story would have been met with appreciation by virtually everyone

in society.

But these days, we have a group of nasty, clucking chickens who detest anything resembling

traditional gender roles for women.

They were oh so quick to attack Shapiro over this innocent tweet.

Really?

He was asking his daughter a simple question.

The fact that you frame it as a "problem," Liz, is troubling.

Teaching children to hate those that are different than you!

Way to progress, liberals.

I can't tell you how many liberals project their own childhood onto others.

Could her entire adult career as a leftist be just a way of getting back at her daddy?

I can't say for sure, but yes.

Yes, because spending time with your daughter and listening to her makes for bad parenting.

Apparently "your friend Helen" puts Ben above all those absentee dads who don't

even pay attention to their children.

Even more shocking, the liberals over at Dictionary.com abused their Twitter account to bash the conservative.

I know one website I will no longer be visiting.

It's so amazing to see how little it takes to get these feminists screeching.

Shapiro simply shared a touching story about his daughter.

It was Mother's Day, dummies.

It's time to appreciate everything (good) mothers do for their children.

Shapiro's story was about celebrating the impact his wife has had on their daughter.

Duh!

I can't believe I have to explain that.

Not willing to give these harpies the last word, Ben took them to school.

And to really put the nail in the coffin, he shares this little inconvenient fact.

It's amazing how quick these feminists attacked Ben.

Apparently, they knew nothing about him, his family, or even the occupation of his wife.

All they knew was that a conservative man mentioned something about traditional gender

roles.

And they pounced, without even knowing the facts.

Knowing his wife is a doctor puts the story in even more perspective.

She's both a mom and a doctor.

But what inspires the little girl more?

Her Ph.D. or the fact that she takes care of her as a mom?

The answer is obvious.

It's this inconvenient fact that liberals don't want to acknowledge.

We all know women can pursue whatever career they wish.

But the best thing they (or men) will ever do is raise a family.

Ask any mother or father what they care about more: their careers or children?

Only a monster will say their careers.

If a child sees that and responds accordingly, it only means she has a great mother to look

up to.

It's sad that the left can't see that.

what do you think about this?

>>BAILEY: Hi, welcome to the FAITH ALIVE SHOW. My name is

Bailey and I'll be your host on today's episode. We have an

incredible message from Pastor Brent Rudoski about discipline

and correction. I know it's not always the easiest topic for us

to listen to, but when we realize how much God talks about

it in His Word, we realize how important it is to Him. If it's

important to Him, it needs to be important to us. The better we

can give discipline and correction but even more so

receive discipline and correction, the better servants

we will be in the kingdom of God. Before we head into the

episode, let's make sure that we check our hearts and that

they're ready to receive all that God has to say for us in

today's episode. I'll see you at the end of the show.

>>BRENT RUDOSKI: But today He actually spoke two words to me

and they're not words we like. They're not things that we're

happy with. It's usually not the best or funniest sermon or

whatever that we wanna hear. But He spoke two words He said,

correction and discipline. Those are odd words, you know. But at

the same time, when you study the Bible you'll find out that

there's so many words and scriptures and, you know, ideals

along the that vein. That, you know, I began to study it and I

wanna help people because in this day and age there's so many

people who don't like to take correction and who aren't very

discipline, right? Now I found that people that don't take

correction will soon become people that have no discipline.

And if you have no discipline, then you will allow anything

into your life. You will do anything. You'll go anywhere.

You'll be anything. You'll have no restrictions. You'll have no

boundaries. You'll have a hard time struggling, you know, with

right and wrong and good versus evil. And so, you know, the

ability to be corrected is a powerful thing. Now, we don't

like to be corrected. We don't like to be disciplined. And a

lot of people actually believed that if you correct somebody or

discipline them, that it's some kind of hate or abuse or

something like that going on. But I need to tell you something

that it's none of that at all. And although there have been

abuses. Although mankind has done it improperly. Although

it's been overdone at times. You know, you can throw it out. You

don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, right? You clean

the baby. You throw the dirty water out but you keep the kid,

right? And that's what people, they don't know how to do. They

just throw everything all the time. You hear them in the news

all the time, you know. Something bad happens so the

whole society has to change and everything goes this side. And

I'm like, "Oh, no. That doesn't work that way either." You don't

throw out the truths of God's Word because somebody abused it.

Or maybe you've been abused or maybe you've been hurt by it or

maybe you had parents or authority figures or somewhere,

somebody someplace who didn't do it right and you got hurt by it.

And now you're like, "Well, I'm never gonna do that, you know."

You know, my parents, you know, corrected me improperly. They

discipline me improperly. So therefore, I'm not gonna

discipline my children anymore. How many even know that's a

mistake? And this is not about child training. I might touch on

a little bit but this is about human being training. Now, how

many of you know that as a child of God you are still in diapers?

Just look around the room picture everybody in diapers,

you know. Let that sink in, because the truth is you're

never gonna be anything but a child to God. If your 80 or 90

or live passed, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how

old you are, you will always be a child of God. None of us will

ever get to the place where He look at us and thinks we're old.

How many of you know that? Even when your old and grey and

you're walking with a cane, in God's eyes you are a kidly. You

are not old. You are still a baby and that's you'll always

be. Let's go to Hebrews 12:5-6, and it says, "And you have

forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons." It

says, "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord."

This is the New King James version. It says, do not despise

the chastening or the correction. Say, "Correction."

You might look at that word chastening and, "Oh, my God. I

don't wanna be chastened. I might wanna be chased but I

don't wanna be chastened." It said don't be when you're

corrected by the Lord. Say, "Corrected." "Nor be discouraged

when you're rebuked by Him." Again, corrected. Say,

"Corrected." For whom the Lord loves He, What? He corrects.

Say, "He corrects." For whom the Lord loves He, What? Corrects.

If you love somebody, what do you do? You correct. That's

right. And He scourges. I like that word. How many of you need

a good scourging? That means again disciplines. Discipline.

Say, "Disciplines." Every son whom He receives. Amen. So he's

quoting from Proverbs 3:11-12 and basically it just means

simply that God is a God who corrects and disciplines.

♪ [Instrumental Music] ♪

>> The book of Proverbs tells us that he who ignores correction

will lead others astray. And that will also lead us astray

from words of knowledge. Correction and discipline is not

a very fun thing. It's not a very comfortable thing. But yet

if we really understood its advantages and its benefits and

then we would truly grasp what this whole concept is all about.

In fact, you know, if we truly practice this whole concept, it

would start to mold character within us and would also start

develop maturity and responsibility inside of us. And

would even, put us even in a state of order and structure in

our lives. And so my challenge to you today is that learn how

to appropriate the whole concept of discipline and correction. I

want you to just take a few moments to imagine where you

would be if you always heard what you wanted to hear rather

than what you needed to hear. I want you to just let that sink

in for a few moments. You know, as a parent, as a father, you

know, I have a very tremendous responsibility towards my son to

initiate this thing called correction and discipline. And

it's not a very fun thing. It's not a very comfortable thing.

But yet I know that it must be done because I know that it's

gonna put my son on a path that he will never forget and I know

that it's gonna make him into a better person. And you know this

whole concept of correction and discipline. Again, you know,

it's gonna shape something inside of us and so I want you

to think about in context to the body of Christ. You know, the

thing that the most of us are probably a part of. You know, if

we truly loved one another. If we were truly committed towards

one another and then we would start to practice this thing. We

would start to confront one another because, you know,

there's something that we are gonna be fighting for when we

think about, when we think about correction and discipline. And

that is for the maturity of the other person and for one

another. You know the Bible says that, you know, that the Father,

that the Father disciplines whom He loves. And so as we start to

appropriate and grasp that reality, grasp that truth, and

start to practice it more and more within the body of Christ.

I believe that we would start to see a lot more better people.

And so, you know, this is my challenge to you today is, is

that learn to love correction and discipline, because we know

that it's going to develop something very wonderful inside

of us. And so again, you know, this is not gonna be an easy

task as we look more and more into it. But this is a truth

worth telling.

purpose was to get them to hate being in that spot. So that they

would live their lives in corrective thinking and change

that's the whole point. The whole point of correction and

that we don't end up in that spot. Ultimately it keeps people

out of hell. Naturally, it can keep them out of prison. How

mean it's not good for us. But if we don't look at it properly,

we might think of it as it's wrong and it's not right. It

shouldn't happen to me and all that kind of stuff. And so I

wanna get out from underneath it. The truth is we need to keep

ourselves in it. The definition of discipline, listen to this

you guys, is the imposition. Say, "Imposition." I don't even

know what that means. The imposition of a painful

consequence or other advantage upon someone for their

disobedience as a part of the process of improving their

character and actions. How many of you think we need to improve

our character or our actions? I think we do, right? Proverbs

5:12, says, "And say, 'How I have hated instruction, and my

heart despised correction.'" How many of sometimes that happens,

right? We hate correction. We hate instruction. We hate being

told we're wrong. We hate being lectured, you know. We might

even hate preachers, you know. 'Cause how do we come across? We

But now how many know that's the truth of what we're supposed to

do? Did you know that? You go find in Timothy in different

places. This is actually our job, is to do this. We are

from underneath that, you know, vanish. You know, just, you

know if that happens to you, if you do that to your kids, you

are gonna cause them trouble and you're gonna be in trouble. You

know, and how many of music, how much music is out there that,

you know, enforces this kind of beliefs. And I don't know what

it is today, I don't listen to music today of that. But in my

day, when rock music was, was still is, I remember one group

called Pink Floyd. You guys remember them? I think it was

called "Another Brick in the Wall" or Breaking the Wall. I

don't know what it's called, The Wall. And their song if I'm not

correct said something like, "Hey, teachers! Leave those kids

alone." Right? You guys remember that? And so it's like, those

bad teachers, they're teaching those kids. Leave those kids

'cause that's the best way. Is that the best way? How about

Alice Cooper? What he used to sing? Schools out. Come on,

Shaun. You know this one. Forever. You guys remember that

one? He's a Christian, by the way. Alice Cooper, still sings

his music but he's a Christian. Not two set apart yet, but he's

getting there. But that was just a couple of song. There were

lots of song, a lot of that were just, you know, downright

rebellion against being corrected or discipline or being

under, you know, authority and all that and just steady

rebellious music, right? And some people believe that's the

best way and I have actually had people tell me, you know, we

don't really discipline our kids or correct them. We kind of just

let them figure things out as they want, you know. I'm like,

"I don't think that's the way to do it." How many of you think

that's the way to do it? Just let your kids figured out for

themselves as they bite and punch and stab each other.

That's not the best way, is it?

>>TOM TROUT: Hi, everyone! I'm Pastor Tom Trout. I teach a

class here at Faith Alive Bible College. And I wanna talk to you

for a few minutes about the power of music. It's interesting

to me when we start talking about the power of music because

the early church hundreds of years ago was arguing about

music and the power of music. They want to argue about whether

it's major or minor, whether it's model. And so many saying

they thought they came from the devil. Then later on the church

had composers and the composers were paid staff people that

played the organ or led their choir, whatever. And usually had

to write cantatas or hymns and quite often because of the

pressure to put those new pieces of music. A lot of those tunes

came from the local bars and pubs and the people weren't even

aware but yet here they were doing music. It was what we call

a kind of carnal in its way. But in our times, there been a lot

of people who've even dedicated themselves to ministries that

went around of really well-presented presentation

about how music could spoil your children and corrupt their

hearts and their souls and they were backmasking messages. A lot

of those things happened. So the question could be asked, where

did music come from? And I think it's pretty logical if you think

about it. If God is the creator, then God must have been the

source of music. And if you go back to the very beginning of

the Bible it's talks about the earth being formless and empty.

It says darkness was over the surface of the deep and the

Spirit of God was hovering over the waters or that watering

matrix and that were hovering there can really be defined as

"vibrating or oscillating." In other words, there was a power

moving. Of course, it was the Holy Spirit power, but there was

still nevertheless a power moving. And then a verse later

says, God said, "Let there be light." And so it was the sound,

it was sound and a power of sound that began to process of

bringing order out of chaos. It was sound that began to initiate

this thing that we call creation. And light was

immediately there and light was available. So you get sound and

light working. I question here in my mind 'cause later it talks

with Adam and Eve being in the garden and it says they heard

the Lord walking through the garden. My question is, what do

they hear? Could it be possible that they heard the Lord

singing? 'Cause Zephaniah says that the Lord likes to sing over

His children. And so I have to wonder if music was in the part

of even the garden environment and the presence of God emanates

with this sound we call music. So if we have God creating

music, then it becomes a vehicle. And then if you take

that powerful vehicle, obviously anything of God that's being

created on this earth can be perverted. So if you take

something powerful and perverted or put, put it to the wrong

direction or wrong purpose. It will have a negative effect. And

that's the problem with music when the words, when the words

were not right because music becomes a force. It becomes a

power to drive the words home. And so if you have negative

words, unbelieving words, challenging words, then you have

the power of music to drive them into the heart of the listener.

Whether you even realize it or not, they're being given a

source of attitude and a source of character change and whether

the opposite is exactly through the same way. You could take the

Word of God and put it to music and you have the thoughts, the

ideas, the heart of God being expressed. Because music itself,

I would say to you comes from the very beating, vibrating,

vibrant heart of God Himself and that's where the source of power

is and then you put the right word to it. You have the fruit

of God's presence, the fruit of God's glory, and the fruit of

God's goodness in your life and being given to God. So let the

power of music work for the glory of God.

>>BRENT: Proverbs 19:27, "If you stop listening to correction, my

son, you will stray from the words of knowledge." So if you

refuse correction, you don't want to hear anymore. You will

end up going what? Astray. That's just make sense, right?

And that's why, I know it's so important for us to be in the

Word of God. The number one way that God corrects us or

disciplines us is by the Word of God. It's by instruction. Turn

to someone say, "Instruction." And so we need to be in the Word

of God daily, weekly, always. Why? So that we don't turn our

ears from it and we don't go astray. And then I find a lot of

people they're like, "Well, I don't wanna go to church so

often." You know, they bark at that. They sight all kinds and a

lot of reasons why church shouldn't be done except maybe

once a week. They don't realize that the only one getting hurt

is them. That we need the Word of God more than we think. How

many of you understand that? We need it day and night. Actually,

God told Joshua meditate on the Word day and night. Now, how

many even know we need to do the same thing. There are a lot of

forces are already against us. That's why doubt and unbelief is

so prevalent in the North American society 'cause the Word

of God is just not in people. And the only way that you gonna

get out of doubt and unbelief and have faith is to get in the

Word of God and says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing

the Word of God." I'll say that again, faith comes by hearing,

and hearing the Word of God. If you only hear it once a week,

your faith is gonna be weak. Don't deceive yourself and

you're thinking you're gonna be the mighty man of faith and all

you ever do is getting the Word once a week. Come on. It's not

gonna happen for you. I'm sorry. It doesn't work that way. And so

we need to change our idea, right? 'Cause godly instruction

and correction is good for us because it leads to the words of

knowledge which gives us wisdom. So when wisdom produces life, it

produces a long life. It produces health. It produces

prosperity. It produces everything good that you need in

life. Without the words of knowledge, you're gonna go

nowhere. Say, "Nowhere." And so we cannot refuse good godly

instruction. That's not just natural instruction. It's godly

instruction. Amen. So we don't get lead away. Say, "Lead away."

I would not ignore what I'm just saying right now. Unless, you

know, because it would be to your own peril to do so. And I

know, I am better off coming to church hearing the Word of God.

I don't even care if it's exciting or not. I don't care.

It doesn't matter. You know, so many people will just gotta be

excited. It's gotta have hype. You gotta have this and you

gotta have, that's great. We want all that but at the same

time, you just need to hear the Word of God. You just need to be

instructed. You need to be corrected about your thinking,

right? About our thinking, our thinking goes awry, most of the

time we get into trouble because our thinking is all mess up. And

God gave us Romans 12, they we're supposed to renew our

minds by the Word of God, right? Isn't that He says? Renew our

what? Our minds. Some people say, "I like Christianity. It's

just a bunch of brainwashing." I'm like, "Yeah, pretty close to

the truth, you know." But I don't know about you guys, I'm

glad I've got my brain washed. You should have seen my brain

before. It needed a good wash. I thank God that He washed, kept

the brain, washed everything else. So we don't throw the

brain out with the bath water, right? I kept my brain intact.

salvation testimony. So I grew up in Christian home and

unfortunately I never had a personal relationship with God.

So when I finished high school, I pretty much strayed away and

that led to a life of a lot of poor decisions. But through

series of events God had a bigger plan for us and I ended

up meeting Melissa at a bar of all places.

very quickly at seven weeks we found out that we were pregnant.

And I really believed that's where God decided to enter,

re-entering our lives, to tell you is really what started to

straight our path with following God and ever since then

everything has just gotten better every day.

we were to where we are now. We all owe that to God, for Him

Everything in our life that we have it's good. It's because of

Him and trusting Him. We wouldn't have gotten to where we

think when people try to do life without God, you'll find out

really quickly that you just gonna keep, you know, failing in

Google Analytics - Tracking Website Traffic - Duration: 3:31.

This week we are going to be talking about Google Analytics.

What's up Fish Fans!

My name is Marcus.

You're watching Marketing Madness, the Blue Fish vlog!

Measuring the behaviors of those visiting your website is the foundation of any good

Digital Marketing strategy.

You have to know what is resonating with your audience.

So I want to use this episode of the vlog to explain Google Analytics.

If you are not familiar with Google Analytics, it is the standard when it comes to tracking

website traffic.

I think every website should have Google Analytics installed and there are a few Key Performance

In you should be keeping an eye on.

If you have Google Analytics installed then go login so you can follow along.

When you first log into the reports Google Analytics shows you a graph of the visits

over the last 30 days.

Typically, I start by looking for spikes in traffic.

That would indicate that either something we wrote was extremely popular or that the

site got posted somewhere that is sending us a lot of traffic.

Either way, I want to know who, when, and how the spike was generated.

If you hover over the points on the graph it will tell you the numerical value of the point.

The initial page also shows how many Users, New Users, Sessions, Pageviews and the Average

Session of Duration.

All of these are important to know.

Users & New Users are just barometers for how much traffic you are getting.

Generally speaking the more the better.

But I also want to caution you that a ton of traffic without conversion means you are

missing something.

I'll gladly take a lower numerical value of visitors for a higher percentage of conversions.

Pageviews and Pages Per Visit tell me that once the person is on the site they are poking

around a bit.

The Duration of their visit tells me whether it was just a cursory glance of the site or

if they are reading through something on the site.

For example, several years ago I wrote a blog post that was the longest I've ever written

and the duration of that site averages around 9 minutes which is just crazy!

Next, we are going to look at the Acquisition / All Traffic / Referrals report.

I like this report as it will tell you where your traffic is coming from.

Remember those spikes I mentioned?

Those should manifest themselves here as a site that has sent you a large amount of traffic over the last 30 days.

Clicking on the link should give you a breakdown of the URLs that are originating the traffic.

The last thing (and quite possibly the most important) that I look for is under Behavior

/ Site Content / All Pages.

This report tells you what people are looking at on your site.

It is important to note that / represents your homepage.

So more than likely "/ " will always be at the top of the list.

I like to check these Key Performance Indicators weekly.

Especially if we are blogging a lot.

It tells me what topics are hitting the mark with folks that read our blog.

If a certain topic is getting more interest than others then I will spend more time writing

content on that topic.

Well, that's a wrap for this week!

I want to thank you for checking in.

Make sure to hit that like button.

And if you have any questions or comments leave them down below.
