Youtube daily May 16 2018

Hey, this is the Daily Overpass, my name is Eric and I make apps!

Now today let's ask the question - Does it help to update your admob libraries?

Ok, last Friday night on the live stream we talked about a bunch of topics!

We went from GDPR to running your own business to admob revenue - we talked about loads of

different things and we'll probably do all that on the next live stream if you can join

us!

But one of the things I mentioned in that live stream was that I need to update my admob

SDK's and maybe that will help my rpm for a little bit.

Because my revenue has fallen a lot since last year but I'm waiting for the GDPR stuff

to play out so I know when to update it.

I had a question the following day from Hicham raf who said "Hi Eric, yesterday you said

that you're having a low rpm maybe because your admob sdk is old.

Is that true?

Because I have like version 9 of the sdk and my rpm is like really low, almost nothing.

Nice videos.

Salutations from Morocco."

Hey Morocco, cool!

So, just to be clear, I don't know if that's gonna make a difference.

I'm gonna update my sdk just because I need to do that every so often and it's been a

few months since I've done it, and my suspicion is that it will have some effect, although

it might not.

It's probably gonna bounce me back to where I am.

I know the reason my rpm is low is mainly because of the target locations.

The majority of my users are coming from, at the moment - the majority is still coming

from the US - but a substantial portion is coming from India, and those rpm's are a bit

lower.

So I still have the impressions, which is the only thing that I really have any control

over, so all that's good but the revenue is low.

So I still have hope, I still have faith, and my suspicion is that updating the sdk's

is gonna help eventually anyway.

Because you have to think from admob's point of view, or from google's point of view, they

have a certain amount of inventory that they send out and they always want you to update

sdk's, get the latest security enhancements and everything like that, so I do try to make

sure that I update every so often.

And sometimes you can't actually do that.

Like, some of our apps are in corona, it gets compiled with them, and I don't know which

versions of the sdk they even use with their plugins and everything like that.

But it's something you have to keep updating, and it could be a hassle, especially with

that.

One of the benefits of actually removing all the free versions from the apple side of things

is that I don't have to worry about that anymore.

So, what I'm gonna do is wait the next couple of weeks until May 25th, that's the deadline

for gdpr, and we talked a lot about that the other night, and I have no answers!

I know nothing!

I've read the articles.

You have some people who say just like y2k, it's a big nothing, everyone's stressing about

nothing, and on the other side you've got people who say "hey, we need to set up our

own server and our own database and get consent from users to serve them ads and all this

kind of stuff, and I haven't seen anybody show me any implementation or "hey, this is

specifically what you wanna do".

And I think it's because nobody really knows.

But to be clear on that hicham, I don't know if it's gonna help, but I would like to ask

the rest of you guys - have you ever updated your sdk's for admob and seen a boost in your

rpm's?

Because I'd be really interested in that!

For me it's just a suspicion, there's only so much data that we can see in terms of what

quality of ads we get and what else is available out there on the inventory.

So we don't know if we get good ads to our apps or bad ads, so I'd be really interested

in what you guys have to say.

Anyway, thanks very much for showing up to the live stream last week hicham and watching that!

And that's it for today, I'll talk to you guys tomorrow!

Quan Chức Trung Cộng Mạo Hiểm Tính Mạng Đào Ngũ | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 12:52.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

the inside story of a Chinese official

who risked his life to defect.

Hi, welcome to China Uncensored.

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

You know, life can be tough for Chinese communist officials.

Long hours of hard work,

monitoring dissidents and critical voices.

But Chinese officials are only human,

and sometimes they simply get fed up.

I sat down with Chen Yonglin.

He was the consul for political affairs

at the Chinese consulate here in Sydney.

But then, one day in 2005,

he decided he'd had enough of being forced

to spy on overseas Chinese.

And he walked out of the Chinese consulate forever—

and put his life on the line to tell the world

how the Chinese Communist Party really operates.

Thank you for joining us, so tell us,

why did you defect from China

and seek political asylum in Australia?

This is complicated.

I'd been thinking a long time

for leaving the Chinese government.

My father was persecuted there

during the Cultural Revolution by the Chinese regime,

and also when I joined the Tiananmen Democracy Movement in 1989

and witnessed the Massacre event,

and also in the past several years I can see that,

I feel there is no future for China,

and I don't want to live in that environment.

And also I don't want my child being brainwashed as I was.

Before you defected, you were doing things that,

you felt were morally questionable.

I used to be certain kind of proud to being a Chinese diplomat,

it seems I'm joining the policy decision to contribute to the national interest.

But when I arrived in Sydney,

I found this is not the case,

and I found Chinese diplomat is a shameful career, shameful job,

and because what the diplomats are doing

is not trying to contribute to the country,

it's actually,

try to join certain kind of persecution

against dissidents, dissident groups.

After you defected, did you face any danger or retaliation from the Communist Party?

Yes, actually, they are a lot of risk.

At the beginning they found us and tried to

take us back to the consulate.

Probably they tried to kidnap me back to China,

and said that this guy voluntarily returned to China.

They tried to take something like this.

I believe I remember hearing you say

that you had a source who told you there was

some kind of assassination squad, sent after you?

Yeah, so from my colleagues in Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

and of course sometimes I can get sources from other department,

which some friends I make when the delegation visit from China.

What did they tell you?

They implied that there's a team of MSS,

and they are going to doing some mission so that,

well targeting, my family.

So they went after your family?

They targeting my family,

actually of course the main target is me.

Are you in danger right now?

If I do too much

If they thought that I'm playing a leading role in some area,

they may try to hurt my family or harm myself in a certain way.

And if you're too quiet?

If I'm too quiet, same thing.

Too quiet, they can also take action.

So you need to be just loud enough.

Yeah, that's right.

Just loud enough, and do as much as I can.

So how did your family and friends react to you defecting?

When I left the consulate, I have prepared that these friends

or relatives will all cut the relation, the connection with me.

But for my family, my wife and my child,

we just want pursue a life here,

in the freedom world.

How does the Chinese consulate silence critical voices

within the Chinese-Australian community?

There's many ways to silence the dissident's voice,

there's many ways, and one is actually they trying to infiltrate

the Chinese community organizations,

and it's generally via money,

use money to influence these communities.

And also try to isolate the dissident's voice...

And Falun Gong at that time, from 2001-2005,

when I was in the consulate, was actually the main target,

and to make the Chinese community

generally resent the Falun Gong practitioner,

and it's very effective, obviously,

because the propaganda to defame the Falun Gong totally.

And I understand after you defected,

you quit the Chinese Communist Party.

Can you tell us a bit about that?

At that time, not many Chinese have the courage

to declare publicly that they quit from the CCP

because in the communist system,

you can only join, usually, or expel,

there's no resign or quit.

It's like a bad party, and you can't leave.

You can't leave, you're controlled,

you joined the Party, it's like cult, evil cult, biggest,

you can see the largest evil cult group.

That's funny, they usually call the Falun Gong the evil cult.

Usually if you read the Chinese Communist Party propaganda,

you should read the opposite meaning that is correct,

so if CCP say that this is the evil party,

the evil group, Falun Gong is evil,

that means Falun Gong is really good.

How do Chinese-Australians feel about

the Chinese Communist Party's presence in Australia?

They feel very scared, obviously...

Yeah, the feeling is awful, because many Chinese immigrants,

they have very, the family, usually,

they suffered from persecution from the CCP.

They came to Australia, they feel relaxed and feel safe,

but in the past decade, the Chinese-Australian feel that

their lifestyle been threatened.

So how do you feel about the growing influence

of the Chinese Communist Party in Australia?

I feel very bad, extremely bad,

because my child will live here,

and this is our new home.

Because of Chinese influences,

Communist influences is here,

and we feel that, we're still in China.

This place is turning red, and it's also against my will,

that I don't want my child be brainwashed as I was.

And now we can see that a lot of Chinese propaganda here,

and if you can see that the only Sam Dastyari case,

even the MP's speak for China's interest...

Is there anything that can be done to stop

the Communist Party's growing influence around the world?

That rely on the Western democracy;

they should know that China has never given up

the Cold War of thinking,

the ideological, the propaganda, they just-

They have the Cold War mentality.

Yeah, totally.

And they just stay low,

and as Deng Xiaoping said,

hiding our capacity, biding our time.

So when time is proper,

they will launch the fierce attack

at the Western ideology again.

What do you think is the most important thing

about the Chinese Communist Party

that the West doesn't understand?

The Chinese Communist Party is very cunning, deceptive.

All the propaganda are lies,

but in the disguise of a beautiful looking,

and it's like the Red Ballet,

the Red Detachment of Women.

It's fascist aesthetics, looks beautiful,

but it's all about hatred and brutality,

and that will actually influence the public

about the basic human rights values.

Thank you very much for joining us, Mr. Chen.

This was a very enlightening interview.

My pleasure, thank you.

blankets and paper to shred in order to create a

comfortable area to give birth and raised puppies

Bothering

Often a dog suffering from false

Pregnancy will be found adopting up stuffed animal or any other inanimate

Object and treating it as a puppy often the dog may even guard it

against the owners and stranger

Physical changes

The most stunning symptoms are those

Affecting the dog's body dogs affected by false pregnancy may exhibit enlarged

nipples, and eventually they may even

Secrete milk or fluids dogs may also exhibit weight gain

Abdominal swelling and even vaginal discharges some may even mimic labor

Diagnosis

Your vet will palpate the dog's

Abdomen to insure the dog is not pregnant

However, this method is not very accurate

X-rays or an ultrasound are much more accurate and reliable

Treatment

Luckily the condition resolves on its own within two to three weeks

dogs that tend to lick their mammary glands should be prevented in doing so because this may prolong the

Alia Bhatt And Vicky Kaushal Interview Each Other - Duration: 4:45.

He really complains and he looks at me with like...

Annoyed eyes, like, where have you been?

Umm.. He's not Raazi of your busy life?

He's not Raazi of my busy life!

So, one of the things we're going to do today is

Interview each other.

Let's talk about, umm..

A being that's closest to your heart,

Which I think the entire world knows.

Edward?

Edward, her cat...

The..Edward, Mr.Edward.

Mr. Edward, the man of her life!

Let's talk about it..

How is it being a parent to Edward?

Right now, it's a tough time between Edward and I,

Because I've not been able to spend too much

Time with him, so whenever I go back home,

He really complains and he looks at me with like..

Annoyed eyes, like, where have you been?

Umm.. He's not Raazi of your busy life?

He's not Raazi of my busy life!

Because I go and meet him and I,

Also when I meet him, I forget to give him his treats.

Umm, but I have to say..

We make up for our time when we, like, sleep...

Because he comes and cuddles up next to me

And then we go to sleep, and...

It's good, because usually he wakes me up at 6am,

In the morning...

But because my call time is only 6am,

I have to be up at 5am!

So, Edward sleeping with me is a great thing!

It sounds really wrong!

#Soulmates

He's my cat, guys!

Yeah! # Soulmates.. That's cute, that's really cute.

This is interesting!

This is something I would want to know...

You're a spy in the film, obviously!

How much of a spy are you in real life?

When it comes to...

Being on the social media!

I feel like,

There is a bit like,

Indulgent! So, I don't stalk my ex's,

But you don't feel like doing that?

No, I stalk my friend's ex's maybe,

Like for fun!

To like make fun of them about, like,

That's being indulgent!

So, no! Nice to just be normal...

But I stalk people every now and then,

I may stalk my current's ex's!

Same question for you.

Umm... Definitely don't believe in like blocking people

Because I feel, It's like,

Don't think of an elephant and only end up thinking

About an elephant !

So, it needs to just go out of your system naturally or organically.

And... Stalking actually I've...

I'm a great stalker of random people.

Two hours down the line I'll be like,

I'm, I'm like you know being like such a waste in life...

What is your workout playlist like?

Do you have a workout playlist?

Or do you like working out in silence?

My go-to music in life for,

Depression, for happiness, for..

Gymming, for anything...

Punjabi music is like the safest!

You know Bhangra music just peps me up for

Anything and everything! It's like my lullaby also.

But yeah! That's mine.

What's yours? Are you a music person

When it comes to working out?

I need lots of the changes so I will go like,

To like, today's trending songs..

Like Tareefan, to like a...

You know, Attention,

*humming a song*

No, Dilbaro and all I would not work out to.

But actually sometimes when I'm walking on the treadmill,

I am like listening to beautiful melodious tracks.

Okay So, now I'm going to ask you the most like,

Non-cliched question

Because I'm so different and unique!

What is it like, tell us about your character!

My character, in the film Raazi is...

His name is Iqbal Syed.

And, as you know!

I'm playing Sehmat's husband in the film,

The thing I like the most about Iqbal,

As a character, is,

That there's this beautiful contrast to him,

That you know he's a guy with,

With a solid spine but a very tender heart.

That is a shade that I really love playing

It's not in the quintessential frame of an army guy

Where you know he's just,

There's a certain way you walk, there's a certain way you talk...

Your sweet tall husband in the film.

Your turn!

My turn?

So, I'll also be,

As...

Surprising as you were!

So,

What's your favorite thing about Sehmat?

One thing that I really liked about Sehmat was

At least in the initial bits, that's what I tried to portray also, that,

Approach and very nice like,

Lens on everything, like everything is,

It's just very pretty!

It's just like, simple!

She just has a very simple, like almost,

You know like a kheer like attitude to life...

Like a what like attitude?

Kheer!

What's a Kheer's attitude towards life?

Kheer is so nice!

It's not complicated, It's just like,

It's not like Jalebi!

Jalebi's are out there, like dessert,

Kheer is like,

It floats...

I just love it, I feel we should only talk about food!

That's how life should be...
