and today we are talking about Google my business now you may not know what this
is but chances are you've seen it because it is Google's version of yelp
which essentially shows up in your search results
anytime you're looking for a very local search especially so let's say you put
in something like restaurants in Bethesda and that pops up it shows you
some reviews it shows you maps and it even helps you get to the website
exactly and this is very very important to fill out for instance one of our
clients is a real estate agency in a very posh neighborhood in a very posh
part of the country and they never heard of Google my business and I was like ok
that's fine explain to them what it was you just go in and you fill out your
information your hours your address your phone number it's very very basic nformation
it is but it's actually a great benefit to you because like we
said this is Google is pushing more and more for the local search and so and
they love to show them their own stuff
right and this is helpful this is what
people are searching for
and so it's gonna be it's going to help you quite a
bit when people are searching you know it's not the type of long extended
description it's just hey give me a realtor in Florida, Miami what you
know whatever it may be give me a restaurant give me a psychologist
whatever you need that's what you can show us
yeah where's the nearest CVS
like when you're traveling you we do this all the time you don't know where
anything is locally so this is a huge benefit for for visitors.
if you're fancy
if you're fancy. if you're in a high
tourist area you get a lot of business travelers you get a lot of visitors you
know like people coming to visit family like we live in the DC area this is a
hot spot for people coming from out of town to visit locals to go and see the sights
so a lot of it like I said it's very basic but there are some really
cool things to it because part of it really comes from Google Maps so you
know when you're on Google Maps and you hey show me this 360 view I want to see
where it is you can get the same thing for your business and you could have
kind of like do a pan circle of your beautiful waiting room of your dentist
chairs of you know whatever you've got you can put that in there you do need a
Google trusted photographer to help you get this going but it's
actually really cool so people can see if they want to come hold their event at
your restaurant
yeah I had no idea you could do that that's really really well
that's a great benefit and something that I would definitely take advantage
of it if I had a bricks and mortar location just because people are so
drawn to you know to photos and videos which we've talked about a gazillion
times but this also helps people get to know your space better and feel more
comfortable and it's interactive and people love to interact online so I
could see it being a huge benefit
it really so she actually just covered tips
4 and 5 really quickly this is really important if you are a brick and mortar
business if people are going to come to your location and they need to
find you you need to get on there and get on the map so you show up better and
then the most important aspect of this is your pictures. your visual. but
right in there is your reviews when you have a lot of really good reviews
especially that only helps put you up in the in the search we all
know that social proof is important too it so if if people have had a great
experience at your place that's gonna help you all the more
yeah and it can
help you make you the easy choice if your competitors do a Google search see
if your competitors have any reviews if they have none or just a couple and you
have like 25 oh wow you're gonna be the obvious choice
