Welcome to this episode of Deliverance Ministry.FM, where we give you proven insights about the

demonic realm and deliverance ministry so you can wage spiritual warfare more effectively.

This is Dr. Don Ibbitson. I'm here with my cohost Dr Phyllis Tarbox and today we're going

to look at how word curses opened the door for demonic torment in a person's life. Before

we get to that, I want it to tell you, uh, give you a little bit of insight about some

a review for us on itunes. All right. We have had many podcasts we've done now. We've done

well over over [inaudible] and a different topics and the aspects of spiritual warfare,

Christian counseling, deliverance ministry. We've looked at open doors for demonic torment.

We've done some things on looking at certainly the generational curses. We looked at sexual

sam on godly soul ties, how those open the doors for demonic torment. We're going to

be talking in the future and looking at specific things about children to open doors in terms

of video games and music, and we're also going to have one coming up on a cult exam. How

we get involved in the occult that opens the doors, but today's topic is on word curses

and that is related to the tongue, the power of the tongue.

Proverbs 18, 21, it says in the tongue is the power of life and death. And once those

words are released into the atmosphere, you can't get them back. So we need to be able

to know how to break them and cancel them and walk in the freedom of things that have

already been spoken. So today we want to focus on that

just just to emphasize something that's so important about the tongue and james even

talks about it. Then it is a spiritual force. We just think of it, you know, where you know,

people say, well, sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me. You

know, that's a lie. That's a lie. That's not true. But the notion of the tongue being a

spiritual force is, um, is something that I've seen that many Christians really don't

grasp. You know, the Bible tells us in Genesis, when God created the world, he didn't do a

lot of arm leaving. He didn't, he didn't do any hard labor, manual labor, it says he spoke

the world into being and we need to understand that that same power, that same God, that

even that spoke the world into being a raised Christ from the dead dwells in us.

And so that's something that Jesus spent some time really trying to talk about and make

sure that we understood that. And you talked about the scripture. One of our, if you like,

um, signature scriptures that talks about the power of the tongue is the one in proverbs.

18 is the power of life and death. But Jesus has a one in the New Testament, Matthew Twenty

1:21 where he talked about the power of the tongue also. What did he say? There are, but

you can also say to the mountain, go throw yourself into the sea and it will be done

to Jesus cursed the fig tree. He spoke, spoke to it, and we'd talk about speaking life and

his word over God situation. And that was the one way that he did it. You know, he just

spoke right over that big tree and it was done. He cursed it and it was dead the next

day, and the analogy he has for us is he says, OK, I want you to speak life to your mouth

to speak, and obviously you know, we can look at that in the natural realm and think about

mountains, but Jesus was talking about speaking to our situation, practical obstacles, whatever

they are, so the words, the pawn, it would, being that words have power.

There is a creative power in the tongue and there's book that we were that we talked about

on our website. We certainly recommend to people I haven't sitting up in my office for

people to see. It's a tough. It's A. It's a book by a gentleman named Charles capps

as, oh, it's this powerful book is powerful. It's called the tongue. A creative force certainly

encourage you to take a look about. That goes into much more depth than we can go into here

about how the tongue is a spiritual weapon, a spiritual force. Him and Jesus wants us

to understand it for good, that we speak life over situations that words have power for

life, but James in the book of James Talks about the other part of it, how it is a force

for evil as well, right? What does he say in James Three, but no human being can tame

the tongue.

It's a restless, evil, full of deadly poison. We praise God, but we also cursed men so we

know we have been made in God's likeness, so we have to be able to attain that tongue

and not be able to just release that poison into the atmosphere and he no human being

containment. So I'm not. That means we need his help, right? True. In the natural. We

can't team it, but, but it is something about the spirit we need to get control and I love

the word picture he uses in likens it to a rudder on a ship and all that little that

it's first of all, he says it's evil is evil in and of itself, but it. But it's life changing.

It's a spiritual force because. And I think that's the part that we really want to understand

and it's, it's, um, in and of itself, it could be used for great, good, and it can also be

used for evil. And we certainly see that in, in deliverance ministry, in, in, in the realm

of spiritual warfare. And so, um, like you said, we've touched on it already. Um, and

maybe we can talk about one of the handouts we give people, but we really like to emphasize

to clients the first time they come in here even is to try to encourage them and show

them how does this, how the tongue speaks life. So how do we do that?

Well, we have, um, connect with who they really are, you know, spiritually who, what their

spiritual identity is. You know, we are sons and daughters of the king. We are not, we

are not just less than we are. We are greater because of he who dwells in us. So when we

have a handout called, who am I that connects the scriptures with your spiritual identity

and who you are in Christ. And so that helps you to speak out authoritatively. Encourage

people to speak them out loud, but yeah,

believe what you're hearing because yeah, the word, the words have the power that the

tongue speaks life and and where to do it over our kids. Write it over work situations,

family situations, declaring

the word of the Lord. Then I tell that to people all the time. You know you can identify

certain things about your children. You know them very intimately, as as well as I know

mine and I have a very strong daughter. Now, if I wanted to say negative things, that would

not be in agreement with how God created her. So when I refer to my daughter that is strong,

I say that she's a debra. She's a mighty woman of God and she rules with justice. So that

speaks about her identity in the Kingdom of God. That you always want to appropriate the

identity that God has and speaking to those gifts powerfully. You don't ever want to agree

with what the enemy is doing to them and the natural because then that if when you do that

and you speak that out, like Don said, you speak death over them and then you're bringing

them underneath those curses, so always speak the spiritual identity of what they were created

to be over them and you'll see greater life to the fullest. Can

we back your daughter's in the example you talked about how you speak over declare she's

a deborah. You're declaring scripture prophetic words over her so that the Holy Spirit, if

you like, can be activated in order to carry those out. Now, if you were on the other mindset

and you were in, you were going along with the demonic realm, I mean, what sort of words?

Where would a person so I think people listening can identify their listening to thinking,

oh my gosh, you know, I've not spoke life. I don't speak life over my children. I don't

speak life over my marriage, or my husband or my wife was what do these. They look like?

What the things on the mothers say over or child or a son or a daughter or husband there

or a husband of course speak over. That would constitute word curses,

controlling. Would it be one anger that they're always angry, they're controlling their dominating

things like that or their week and their babies. They're stupid, never amount to anything.

You know those kinds of things that they, they, they agree with the demonic kingdom's

agenda for that person and when you speak them out into the spirit realm, you are actually

glorifying the demons at work in that person's life and giving them greater power. So the

counterfeit identity starts to be established in even greater measure and then you see that

way more than what you would see if you were speaking out their kingdom identity over them.

You never want to speak out what you, what you feel or what you think you know that could

be lined up with the demonic kingdom because then actually what you're g you're doing is

you're judging them as you word, cursing them and you know I teach a lot on that, but then

you're going to get judged when you speak those kinds of things out over other people

to be very, very careful about who you're glorifying, but always remember your tongue

has to line up with how God created the people, so when you look at others, you've really

got to look at them with discerning eyes and s and see into them what God's plans were

and speak into that kingdom identity.

Never, never, never agree with what the enemy's doing in their life.

Once again, to take a look at it from the other perspective, because I know there are

many people listening to this is, oh my gosh, that's not what I'm doing. OK, but how does

that become an open door? Like if you're speaking to somebody like, you're stupid, you're stupid

kid, you'll never amount to anything. Nobody will ever want to marry or you won't and you'll

never be happy. You will always be broke enough, right? Or never be to go to where we constantly

call closes, curses that my, that person. And I say mother or father could be anybody

cursing. So in the spirit realm, what do we believe? How does that, how do those curses

work in [inaudible] or torn or to bring an open door for tomorrow

child. If it's a child they're going to come into, they come into agreement, they begin

to agree with it. That's true. You know, I am like that, you know, like I had one lady

that came in and she said to me, you know, you need to kind of go slow and kind of break

it down real slow for me cause I'm, I'm kind of stupid. And I said, well why? Why would

you say that? And she said, well, when I was young, my father used to tell me all the time

that I was stupid and a slow learner. And she sat there probably 50, 60 years old. And

she goes, you know, he was right. And I went, well, you didn't know and agree with that.

You're not a slow learner. God created you to be very different from that. And so we

had to break those word curses because she agreed. She actually came into agreement it

and then it established itself over her.

And I think that's an important distinction to understand because many people are. The

mindset will say, well, you're a Christian. You can't be cursed. Nobody can curse you.

When can say, well, you know, anybody can put a curse out against you. Those sort of.

And they can start as a child like we've talked about, but the reality is for many of these

people in here, this woman that you answered it is a typical example we spent many times

people get this spoken over them. We believe happens, is that demonic kingdom can assign

a spirit of stupidity, for example, to that little girl start falling around putting thoughts

and her thought mine, she starts doing stupid things and over a period of time she's hearing

it. She's doing stupid things. And one, at some point you say she comes into agreement

with that she doesn't know it could be just accepts it.

She just OK, I am, I must be stupid. Mommy's homies stupid. I'm doing really stupid things.

And that opens a door. And that spirit of stupidity enters into a person. I think that

that's what's important, that we need to understand that these, you know, these curses, if we

come into agreement with them and or potentially some other open door we've talked about and

other teachings, we don't have time to go over all that ground again, but spirits just

can't jump on a person. They need an entry point. Do you need an open door? And one of

them can certainly be in the Rama word. Curses. Can we come into agreement with them? We agree.

And in many times people will speak things over themselves.

I'm so stupid. I in my depression, my anger, my add, I'm adhd man workers. We come into

agreement with most things board here that all the time from the kids, right? Yeah. Any

I am word curse that does not line up with your kingdom identity needs to be broken.

Anything that you've spoken over yourself in the form of I am, that isn't good that

those are powerful words. Yeah,

exactly. Exactly. And so that's how it works. The demonic keenan picks up on that. And,

and um, and so the words have power. And once again it comes back to what we talked about

at the outset. Words have power already, spiritual, um, for a weapon or spiritual forces get unleashed

through the power of our tone for good and for evil. And so the tongue can bring life

or the tongue can bring death. Now let's talk a little bit more about some of the different

aspects or different types

of word curses. I mean, we talked about one that you mentioned about the woman who was

um, uh, called dumb by her, by her father, right? Well, then, you know, there's always

people that are close to you, you know, people that speak to you over you. Some of them are,

you know, not intentionally harmful or you know, I had one client whose mom used to say

she was just too fragile to have a career and she needed a man to provide for her. Well

that, that brought her into a place of and she felt like she could never really accomplish

anything on her own and left her pretty codependent. I'm kind, Kinda like a princess in a tower

that she was just waiting for her prince to come and, you know, she, her livelihood was

cutoff with that. She wasn't able to produce modern exactly, exactly.

That happened in her life. She didn't, uh, she pretty much took her through deliverance

and boy, the first week after delivering, she's on a television show and she's doing

all sorts of great things now, but we had to break that workers because she kind of

felt like she was maybe too fragile. And I had another lady that I talk about all the

time. She came in, she was beautiful, but her father said that she was so beautiful

that the only thing that she'd ever be good for was to be a prostitute. Now, you know,

that's a horrible thing for a father to say now that that wasn't good, but she, she knew

the root of it. She said, listen, I know the root of my tournament. She said, I've always

been very insecure. I've always felt very inadequate and I always felt like I wasn't

smart enough and that I would have to use my body in order to get what I wanted in life.

I mean, that's what that spoke to me. I'm not smart. I'm beautiful. So I'd have to be

a prostitute. So I've been married six times and one of my husband sold me as a prostitute.

She told me so we had to go back and pray that word, curse off of her and then call

out any spirits that came in of insecurity, inadequacy inferiority that really kept her

bound in that place. And boy, she just was on fire afterwards. But that, that's, that

had really locked her in to place. Also had, you know, and I talk about this to one lady

that came in and um, she was young, but she was, um, she was involved in the gay lifestyle.

And her grandmother said, I would rather have you be a heroin addict than to be a lesbian.

So she looked at me and she goes, guess what?

Now I'm both because I just came into agreement with that. And so that was, that was something

that had to be broken off of her as well. So people that are close to you, mothers,

fathers, whether they're doing it intentionally, they're not doing it intentionally. I mean,

I've even had, you know, sadly, pastors, you know, scream at me that I was always be their

spiritual daughter and you know, that, that, you know, that's not really the way God's

kingdom sets things up. That was the place where they wanted me to stay underneath their

submissions so they can control and so very curse.

Curse. It was a manipulative curse. Yeah. And you'll see that a lot when we talk about

witchcraft and, uh, called, um, when you have witchcraft in the church and words are spoken

over you, you know, that they're spoken over you as a form of control or try to get you

to submit to be under the authority. You'll feel it. It comes in and kind of squelched

as your spirit, but be careful with that because you'll hear it oftentimes through pastors

that trying to use you for selfish motivation or reasons. Also, if you've had any false

prophetic words spoken over you, they can set themselves up as a curse too. So what

I would say is when you're leaving a meeting, you don't really know if it's a good word

or a bad word. I would just break any false prophetic words that have been spoken over

you on your way out and then canceled their assignment. Leave him with the Lord. Don't,

don't worry about about that sort of thing, but you want to cancel that as you walk out.

Demonic Kingdom will be activated to try to carry that out. That that's how it works.

I mean, God gives good, accurate words and the Holy Spirit to carry those out. But as

you say,

counterfeit.

Yup. And counterfeit comes to counterfeit and comes in on the other side. And so I think

it's important to highlight, you know, these word curses from who you know. Well, it can

be for mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, boyfriends, girlfriends, co teachers, pastors,

wives, ex wise, um, I mean we've seen a lot of eating disorders even at the route we've

had ladies in here one time in their life where gymnast and they were, you know, in

the realm they were under, they were just tiny little girls and they were kept tormented

in terms of being there. They were told they were, they were fat, fat, you're fat and they

weren't fat at all. And guess what, a lot of them ended up with eating disorders. It

was like a curse and apart from any other things that were going on in the relationship

with that coach in terms of control and whatnot.

I mean, that was a word curse. And so that, you know, so people can speak, curses over

us when we see a lot in, is in the realm of, Gosh, we love doctors. We loved the medical

profession. They and um, and praise God for doctors. And he said, God, you know, Jesus

loved doctors. Got Doctors because Luke medicine man, if you like a medical profession or up

or you know, wrote, uh, wrote the book of acts and Sir, look at, um, people will come

in sometimes and they've caught up in the jargon and they will talk about my, add my

Adhd, I am bipolar and you know, once again, you know, where there's just declaring who

you are and what you are is different than, than relating some sort of a medical diagnosis.

They'll claim the diagnosis is permanent or manic or chronic and you're never going to

be able to get over it. You're going to have this the rest of your life. I mean, I went

to the doctor last year and the words right out of his mouth were, we're going to call

this cancer until we, until we call it something else and I thought you can, but I'm certainly

not going to call it that. And it wasn't, but you know, I, you have to cancel. You can't

come into agreement with those sorts of things.

Exactly. Right, exactly. And that we hear that a lot in the matter. And once again,

we're not at a doctor's and, but in the realm many times what they see medically as facts

doesn't necessarily transcend into the spirit realm is true. Say, no, I don't receive that.

I break will always have this need to have a transplant or whatever it is. It's like,

no, I don't receive that. I break that word speaks in into the natural this is and how

it's going to be forever and ever ever say no,

you can tell when people come into agreement because you brought that up when they declare

it as my mind, you know, and even the advertisers for a lot of the lot of the anti depressants,

I don't know if you remember that commercial last year with the little umbrella that followed

the lady around and he, she would say, Oh that's my depression that follows me wherever

I go. I wanted that commercial off the air quickly. Cause you know, that's the kind of

thing where they come into agreement and it actually sets up almost

identity is that I'm an addict or I have an addictive personality or my disability disability

and we've got people in here for the truck treatment programs and some of them are supposed

to stand up and say, hello, my name is Joe and I'm an alcoholic. And look, we're not

speaking against those programs. I know aid help people. But even people when they've

heard the teaching about word curses, it's ever come up and said, you know, Gosh, even

when I spoke that I never liked speaking. That's not who I am. And that's why we give

them a handout. We can contact us and we'll get you a copy of the hand or what we say

is who I am in Christ with. God says you are. And you know, that's, that can become a curse.

And so those. So what we're trying to give me real briefly here is there's a cross section

of some of some curses that people have spoken over themselves.

And many times people will, um, speak things over themselves, like we've talked about it.

And then there's the, so that's one. And then there's another realm which we don't see as

frequently, but I won't, I won't say, but we do see it and that's when we would people

more typically think of in the realm of word curses. And those are things coming from the,

what we call the you people talk about witches, warlocks, Satanists, Voodoo, Hispanic heritage.

There's Santa Maria, Santa Rosa and Centerra is African American community. They have roots

and whatnot. So there's people in all cultures and certain, even in this part of the world,

when they want something done, they will go to a central, to a Santera, Santeria to our

roots person to get it done. You want a husband, you want a man, you want a wife, you are,

you can put a spell out, could pay somebody to put a curse out against somebody to either

draw them in or drive somebody.

I'm in. I know, and I've also dealt with some people from Africa, had a whole tribe, almost

of a particular area of family members come in from Africa where they, that the tribes

would word curse each other's tribes. There was barrenness and marriage. They would never

be able to get married. They just spoken over them. Um, through rivalry they would go to

the witch doctors are the roots men over there and have these curses performed over these

people. They would always have miscarriages. They will never be married. Um, there was

a lot that went on with that with infirmities that would run down through the family bloodline

that were all based on witchcraft curses that were set out over others. So, you know, that's

typical probably more for Africa, but over here we have a lot of things going on in the

witchcraft realm as well where people are being cursed by witches and warlocks, um,

for, to keep them out of their, their destiny. So yeah, you just have to be very careful

with that. I side, I have seen quite a few with the love spells over here and with the

San Antonio, with the Hispanic Culture, um, a lot of that goes on to, to limit them and,

and it's not good. So those all have to be cancelled and broken.

Well, I think that's the key point. I mean, I, I say some are of the mindset of the teacher

will, you're a Christian, you can't be curse, you don't need to worry about any of that.

You know, Jesus became a curse for us and we talk about that and other things on generational

curses. It's like we can appropriate that victory, but a lot of the Jesus of course

on the cross in terms of breaking generational curses, but you know, that the spirits can

still be operating and still trying to attack us a tour and they need an open door and entry

point. That's what we're talking about. And part of it literally is OK, the curses word

curses that have been spoken over us or we spoken. We need to break those. And I'm sure

many people are listening to this and probably there are palms are getting sweaty or they've

pulled off to the side of the road.

And I said, oh my gosh, I recognize all this in my life. I'd had this in my life since

the get go, we even talked about people can have spoken over them, even in their mother's

womb was just all sorts of things can be word cursed even in their mother's womb before

they've drawn breath one. So they're sitting there thinking, oh my gosh, I've got this

in my life. I've said these things, people have spoken this over me. They've got these

curses operating in mind, the spirits associated with operating in my life. What? What do we

do? What's. What's our recommendation? What's the remedy, if you like, for a dealing with

word curses

while we break them in the name and the blood of Jesus Christ and we come out of agreement

with them and of course we will cancel any spiritual component with that through deliverance.

But you want to cancel those words. You want to break them in Jesus's mighty name and and

no longer be in agreement with them

given, given, given some example, say one of the things we've talked about where somebody,

the woman that you talked about, her mother spoke over your boat or being stupid. I mean

what I mean once again here, what we're laying out here is the provision for breaking the

curses and breaking curses can be one aspect of deliverance ministry. It's not, but it's

important to recognize those curses and it really is as simple as breaking them, declaring

them so as taking that one as an example, what does, what's the verbiage? A word

curse that my mother spoke over me that called me stupid and I canceled those word curses

in the mighty name and the blood of Jesus Christ and I and I come out of agreement with

them and I call them to know and no effect. In Jesus's mighty name can be that simple.

In other words, curses, spoken on myself. It'd be the same thing. Every word curse,

word, curse. It really is that simple and go and do that. That's it. That come back

from break the power of the workers is now, once again, the whole aspect of deliverance

ministry. What are, what the spirits are, things are operating in your life. I mean

there's just, there's, there's reasons why spirits were there. Um, there may be reasons

why they're still there and that needs to get dealt with, but I think, you know, diagnosed

if you like, or the revelation knowledge gets you part of the way there yet. And so what

we're trying to do is get you some understanding of the fact that, look, if you have these

curses spoken over you and, or in the past by any of these people and you're in, there's

things in your life, your walk with God, their relevant lyman and you can't get the victory

over.

It could be very likely that the word curses spoken over you have been an open door for

a lot of this tournament. And I think that's the, um, that's probably what I like to people

to really understand in terms of teaching about word curses that you can be cursed,

there can be curses and a word curses spoken. And those need to get broken and you can do

that. Those word curses, broken and keep them focused and emphasizing going forward. I mean

this cuts both ways, that that our tone apart from others cursed us, that it can be a vehicle

for life and death to and as you've talked about, we can curse others and we can certainly

judge others with our tongue. But it's important to understand and we just want you to get

the understanding as a starting point. That word curses over you that had been spoken

even out of your own mouth can be an open door for demonic torments. So Phyllis, what

would you like to emphasize is

proverbs 26 to I think that an undeserved curse will not come to rest. So for many of

these word curses that are spoken over you or that you've spoke, that has been spoken

over you, I'm your agreement is key. If you do not come into agreement with those words,

like if somebody in the neighborhood said, oh, you're a, you're a bad neighbor, don,

we hate you. And you would say, well, I need to go pray for that neighbor. He's obviously

having a bad day that that curse wouldn't come. But when it's someone that speaks it

over you that you now think has spiritual authority over you, or it's a parent or you

come into agreement with it, then then that, that now it may settle. But keep in mind that

if it's an undeserved curse, you do not have to come into agreement with it. You can cancel

it if it is already there and be free so that your kingdom identity

is restored. And I think just to piggyback off of that, or we're where many people will

say, well, I don't know what was spoken over me. I didn't hear everything that was spoken

in some of these, what we would call a cultic cert, curses or Santeria or Voodoo curses.

So not many people are not aware spoken. Once again, that's a different aspect. We have

curses spoken over us that we're not aware of, that we don't hear. And there maybe isn't

somebody, um, that we know so, but those, but many times people have an inkling or a

discrepancy and all my mother and my ex, I managed to do guy one time is his ex mother

in law for 25 years ago was into Santa Maria and he just had a sense and just a discerning

thing, if you like, about that, did it was a curse over his life.

And you know, want to remember praying deliverance for him. There was a manifestation when we

broke that curse, the ungodly soul tie between him and his ex mother in law. But there was

no, no monique manifestation. So I believe something, their interaction with his ex mother-in-law

potentially occurs. Santa Maria curse, that spirit was operating in his life 25, 30 years

after the fact. So that's why it's important to cover all the bases when it comes to word

curses. So once again, we've covered a lot of ground here in this kind of a high-level

How to Find High Quality Backlink Opportunities (in Real Time) - Duration: 10:16.

real-time alerts that'll help you get more backlinks.

What's up guys?

It's Sam Oh here with Ahrefs and I'm super excited for today's tutorial.

Throughout this tutorial, I'll be using Ahrefs' Alerts tool to set up 5 passive

real-time notifications that I think everyone should be using.

Now, all of these alerts have one purpose and that's to find new and relevant link

prospects with as little effort as possible.

Now you might be wondering how monitoring keyword mentions in new articles can help

you get backlinks.

The thing with marketing, particularly, link building is that timing is a critical component

in successful outreach.

So, the sooner you can reach out to someone from the time that they publish their article,

the higher your chances will be to get a link placement.

So with that in mind, let's jump right in.

The first alert we're going to create is the "brand mentions alert."

So go to the Alerts tool from the menu bar.

Next, click on the "mentions" tab and then the "Add Alert" button.

This is a great way to find unlinked mentions of your company's name.

So anytime someone mentions your brand, but doesn't link to your site, you can reach out

to them and just ask them for the link.

It's also a highly effective way to start building relationships with influencers and

journalists who are talking about your company.

And on the other spectrum, you can monitor sites that are giving you bad press.

Here, you need to enter in a search query that you'd like to monitor.

So, rather than creating a separate alert for different variations of your brand name, you

can set up a single alert by using the "OR" search operator.

For our website, we might put "ahrefs" OR "ahrefs.com" OR, common misspellings

like "a hrefs" OR "aherfs."

And it's important to note that when using search operators in your query, you must use

uppercase letters on the operator since they are case sensitive.

When setting the mode, you can choose to search everywhere, just in the title, or only within

the body content.

So, for this alert, I recommend searching everywhere.

We'll leave the language setting to all languages

and for blocked domains, we'll actually block our own domain since we don't need

to get alerts from our own site.

For recipients, you can add people on your team like an outreach manager or maybe a client

who wants to do their own outreach.

Finally, you can choose the interval to get the alerts.

There's real-time or a daily or weekly summary.

So, we'll choose real-time.

Finally, we'll save it.

Now anytime someone mentions any of these keywords within their content, we'll get

an email where we can check if they added a link to our site with the brand mention.

And if they didn't, we can just send them a friendly email and ask for the link.

One other thing to mention is that you can track your branded product keywords in here.

So for example, if Apple were to add in their company name, you know, they'd get a lot

of irrelevant results.

So instead, they could track branded keywords like iPhone, iPad, Macintosh, and a phrase

match like Apple TV.

Recently, we've been thinking about adding in a super cool feature that will automatically

detect if the web mention is linked or not.

So if you want to see that feature added to the Alerts tool, then make sure to leave a comment.

While we're waiting for some cool sites to mention us, let's move on to the second

alert, which is what I like to call the "The Intruder Technique."

The principle behind this alert is to find websites that are mentioning two of your direct

competitors, but not you.

Here's how it's done.

If Mailchimp wanted to monitor sites that are talking about their competitors, but not

mentioning their tool, they could achieve this by using boolean operators.

For example, their search query might look like this:

+aweber +activecampaign -mailchimp.

This search query would alert Mailchimp every time a website mentioned both Aweber and Activecampaign

but not Mailchimp.

They could then reach out to the site owner to "intrude" in on the party, right?

Now, this is an awesome alert to find prospects that you can send samples to, give free trials,

find new affiliates, or just to bring your company to their attention.

And again, we're just going to leave the settings as the same as we did before.

So far, we've covered a couple cool company/brand mentions.

But you don't need to limit yourself to your company's name or branded product names.

The next alert is the "related keywords alert".

At Ahrefs, one of our tools is Site Explorer, which is well-known as our backlink checker.

Then we have Keywords Explorer which is our keyword research tool and we also have

"Rank Tracker" which checks your Google search rankings continually over time.

Since people aren't always searching for our branded product names as much as they

are these related terms, we can set up an alert to find content mentions that are highly

relevant to our products.

So for our search query, I'll type an open bracket, "backlink checker" OR "keyword research

tool" OR "rank checker" close bracket, and then -ahrefs.

We'll leave the rest of the settings as we did in the previous examples and click

the save button.

You could also use this for general keywords that are highly related to your niche.

For example, at Ahrefs, we might search for something like title:"SEO Tools",

which I've set as a phrase match, -ahrefs.

These alerts will open up opportunities to introduce our tool to bloggers and influencers

and potentially get links to our product pages, which are generally tougher links to get through

other link building tactics.

Alright, onto the last one for our mentions alerts, which I call, "recruit the hype man."

The idea of this alert is to find people who are reviewing your competitor's products

and services and then to recruit them to promote your products.

So, for this example, we could do a search like this:

Title, colon, open bracket, your competitor's name, so I'll use Salesforce as an example,

space, review and close the bracket.

And this will mostly send us real-time alerts when content creators have done a full-blown

review on a similar competitor.

So we could reach out, offer trials and have our products reviewed by experts and evangelists

in our industry.

For each of these alerts that you create, you'll get an email notification based on

the set interval that you choose.

And the beauty of these keyword trigger alerts is that you can get as creative as you want

and create hyper-targeted real-time alerts so you'll never miss an opportunity to get

your name out there.

Now, since the mentions alerts will only start sending you new notifications from the time

that you add it, you can go to Content Explorer, which shares the same database as the Alerts

tool, and use the exact same search queries to find existing mentions.

For example, if I wanted to check the "intruder technique" example, I could type in the search query,

+aweber +activecampaign -mailchimp, and run the search.

Next, I'll click on the "one link per domain" feature since we don't want to

pitch the same site multiple times.

Then, I'll click the "highlight unlinked domains" drop down and in this case, I'll

type in mailchimp.com since in our search query, we're looking for pages that have

mentioned a couple other email marketing tools, but not theirs.

If we scroll down a bit, you can see this one on starting a fitness blog which mentions

the two competitors, but not Mailchimp.

And the highlighted domain in yellow tells us that this website has never linked to MailChimp

before, which makes them a great prospect for outreach.

If we scroll back up to the top, you can also use this date filter here and see only the

mentions in the last 7, 30, 90, or whatever date range you want to check.

So if I filter for the last 30 days, then you'll see this recent post called, "List

of Best Email Marketing Platforms," which also has never linked to Mailchimp.

When you're setting up your mentions alerts, I highly recommend testing your search queries

with Content Explorer first to make sure that you get relevant results sent to your inbox.

So everything we've covered so far are keyword mentions alerts.

But there's one last alert that will help you find new link opportunities.

And you might already be using this one because it seems so obvious, but let me cover it anyway,

just in case you missed it.

The last alert you should use is one that helps you spy on your competitor's fans.

Alert number 5 is the Linkerati Alert.

If we click on the backlinks tab here, then we can create a new alert by clicking on this button.

Next, we need to enter in the domain or URL of a competitor we want to track.

Setting this as a domain search will likely leave you with an overwhelming amount of junk links.

So I recommend using either a URL to the homepage or to an individual article to get relevant results.

For example, if I had a blog on body building, then the kind of homepage URLs that I would

be looking for are ones similar to muscleandbrawn.com, which talks mainly about power lifting and bodybuilding.

Now, a homepage link that I would avoid putting in here is something like menshealth.com.

While they do talk about similar topics, they cover a lot of other topics that would likely

send me irrelevant backlink notifications.

But I could track this page called "The 10 Best Back Workout Moves," which may be

relevant to an article that I'm building links for on an ongoing basis.

So I would copy and paste this URL in here, make sure that the mode is set to URL and since

I want daily alerts, I'll leave the interval as is and click the "add" button.

Now, each time you get a notification, you can contact relevant link prospects, quickly

introduce your products or content and start getting more backlinks to your website.

How To Get Better Search Results - Duration: 2:53.

Welcome this week's episode of Momentum Monday. I'm your host Paul Halme and

today we're gonna be talking about search traffic. Where does search come from?

People always arguing about Facebook, Instagram, Google AdWords. We had an

interesting conversation on a coaching call last week, I was talking to my clients and somebody's like

"hey I'm looking for a new accountant what should I do?" And I

was like well you should search on Facebook and then pause to see what they

would do because nobody searches for anything on Facebook maybe in the

future they will but now they don't. If I'm gonna look for something I'm gonna

go to Google I'm gonna type in what I'm looking for and I'm gonna go through and

look at the ads and look at the reviews and look at the top SEO pieces that come

up. I'm gonna search first I'm always looking for social proof so when it

comes to your business it's the same thing.

yes Facebook's good yes, Instagram is good. There's so many different things

new but you have to have your organic base down and you're paid base down. So

that would be your organic SEO. Your pages have to be SEO optimized. You have

to have everything relevant, updated, keep improving your content. Once that's

done then get into paid ads. You have paid AdWords, you have Bing, which covers most

of the Microsoft Network. You have YouTube, anything like that. So cover all

the paid traffic. So if someone searches for something on YouTube they're gonna find

you. If they searched for something in Google they're gonna find you and also

too on your Google Places or Google local or whatever you want to call it. Make sure

your user is up-to-date. You have a bunch of reviews. Everything's optimized on your

page, you've filled out everything the page asked for. And just really dial on

those things. And then start branching off and other things because just think

about when you're trying to improve your marketing. Think about when you go to buy

something. If I'm looking to buy I'm looking for a new accountant or I'm

looking for a new washer and dryer, whatever, something like that. I'm gonna

go in I'm gonna search "best accountants in my town"

Boom!

I'm gonna look through it, read reviews, look through that, narrow down my choices from there

and then move on to that. So when you're thinking about your business make sure

to go in and optimize for search. Then have paid ads on top of the search ads.

And then look at option marketing which is Facebook,

Instagram things index. We all know like you'll see ads on Facebook you just

scroll through and see something really interesting but looking for something

and it's there then I'm gonna look at it. And possibly be targeted. That's a whole

other thing we'll get into is if somebody goes and sees your Google

information clicks on that goes to your website and your pixels firing then you

could run ads them on Facebook. So all this stuff creates a big traffic pyramid.

Almost where you're going like straight up. You can build your traffic as much as

you want but you have to have a strong foundation first.
