Welcome to a new episode of "Detective Dan!"

Previously, I exposed some less-than-ethical behavior on the part of the center Elight,

and this time, I'm going to expose a center that's even more deserving,

none other than . . .

Yeah, Langmaster Learning System.

If you're not aware of Langmaster, it's a chain of English centers here in Hanoi,

with 10 centers around the city,

and a very powerful marketing team.

Also, they're a center that specializes in plagiarism.

They've plagiarized from BBC Learning English,

the International University of Japan,

AJ Hoge, and a lot of other sources, too.

I've known about Langmaster for a number of years,

and recently I read some negative comments about them,

so I decided to investigate them for myself.

The first noteworthy thing about Langmaster is all the reviews on their Facebook page.

There are loads of 5-star reviews,

but the majority have no content or comments whatsoever.

People are just clicking "5-stars" and leaving.

And a lot of other 5-star reviews appear to just be advertisements for courses at Langmaster.

However, when you look at the 1-star reviews, the content tends to be more explicit.

"Fraud page! All the content is taken from other places."

"Specialists in stealing the intellectual property of test-prep teachers and college lecturers,

then putting their logo on it like it's actually theirs."

"Can't comment on the quality. But don't go stealing other people's work so blatantly."

Almost as if the 5-star reviews are all fake, and only the 1-star reviews are genuine.

Interesting, huh?

And Langmaster's videos on YouTube are really interesting, too.

Their channel currently has almost 1,500 videos,

and for a huge number of them, they just plagiarized the content.

One of their favorite sources is BBC Learning English.

For example, read this passage below, and watch Langmaster's video up above.

And this text, too. Langmaster copied it word for word.

I found 18 videos they plagiarized from the BBC,

and of course they didn't bother to list the source.

And I found three more videos that they plagiarized from the International University of Japan.

For example, in this video she's going to read the introduction to a course there.

Uh, wait a sec. What's "OCSALS?"

According to my research, it's a course at that university which includes . . .

Oh my god!

They even used the name of the university!

If you're going to plagiarize, you at least need to be smart about how you do it!

Those were just a few examples of Langmaster's plagiarism.

After a period of research that wasn't really that long, I found 100 Langmaster videos with plagiarized content.

That number doesn't mean that Langmaster only plagiarized 100 times.

It's just that after I found 100 cases, I quit looking,

because I felt that number was enough to prove that for Langmaster, plagiarism is par for the course.

Just like I did with Elight's book before,

I collected all the examples of plagiarism into a spreadsheet.

I've included a public link in the description.

And I want to mention here that I think the people who've appeared in Langmaster's videos may be innocent.

I'm guessing that Langmaster just hired them, gave them a script, and told them to read it,

not that these guys took it upon themselves to commit plagiarism.

However, I still feel that they were irresponsible and lacking in judgment if they didn't have any suspicions

about the source of the content in all of those videos.

This girl, in particular.

She's appeared in hundreds of Langmaster videos,

many of them with content that absolutely reeks of plagiarism.

Did she actually think that Langmaster staff had written all of that themselves?

Or did she just not care?

At this point many of you might be thinking:

"Eh, they're just free videos on YouTube. No big deal."

I disagree.

All those videos, after all, are a marketing tool.

The put their logo in every video,

in the description, they guide viewers to their website,

and at the end of the video, they always say:

In short, a major purpose of those videos is to get new students.

And if Langmaster manages to get any,

then they're making a living off of other people's work.

And if you still think Langmaster's plagiarism isn't a big deal, or it's not worth mentioning,

then why don't you get in touch with the people from whom Langmaster plagiarized?

Like the BBC, for example?

Get in touch with the people who put their time and energy

into researching and writing those lessons themselves,

and tell them:

"It's no big deal! There's nothing wrong with it."

I think they won't agree with your perspective.

Langmaster's dirty deeds aren't just on YouTube, though.

Perhaps many of you know of Langmaster as a center that is in cooperation with AJ Hoge,

the founder of the Effortless English program.

On Langmaster's website, AJ is listed on their "experts" page,

while here, the founder of Langmaster, Tony Dzung, appears in a photo with AJ,

and on Langmaster's YouTube channel, there are a number of videos with AJ.

But now let's see what AJ had to say about Langmaster a few years ago.

Oh, that's not good.

Uh, what company, AJ?

One more time.

Ok, continue.

Oh, that's interesting!

On Langmaster's site, they've got an article called "68 reasons to study English at Langmaster,"

and reason number one is:

"We're the exclusive provider of the Effortless English training method in Vietnam."

If AJ's story is the truth,

then what Langmaster is doing isn't just plagiarism, but theft.

And it's not just AJ.

On Langmaster's "experts" page, you'll also find Paul Gruber,

the founder of the Pronunciation Workshop program.

However, about six months ago, Paul put out this message.

He's working exclusively with another center,

and Langmaster is using his name to assert that:

"We're the organization with the world's leading team of methodology experts."

And here . . .

"Come to Langmaster! You'll meet and be trained in English and personal psychology in person by AJ Hoge, Mr. Vas, Paul Gruber, and Jack Canfield."

They're lying through their teeth.

So, what's the conclusion?

I can't judge Langmaster as a whole.

I don't know what their teachers are like.

I also don't know what their courses are like.

They may have helped a lot of Vietnamese people learn English.

However, committing plagiarism and, especially, using people's names and lessons without their agreement

are totally inappropriate for a serious, professional center.

So, I think this will be a test for Langmaster.

If they're a serious center, they'll come out and explicitly admit what they've done,

they'll take down all of the videos with plagiarized content,

or at least cite the source,

and they'll stop using the names and intellectual property of AJ Hoge and Paul Gruber.

In short, they'll try to fix their mistakes.

And if they don't do those things,

if they keep silent or if they come after me personally . . .

then you guys will know what kind of educational organization they are.

And I've got one more thing to say now.

You guys already know I'm not the type of YouTuber who's in the habit of saying:

"IF YOU LIKED THIS VIDEO, REMEMBER TO LIKE, SHARE, AND SUBSCRIBE!"

I don't like that.

But this is an exception.

If you're a person who cares about justice,

if you're a person who wants Vietnam to have an honest and professional environment for studying English,

then please share this video.

Or, you don't necessarily need to share my video.

You could share AJ's video instead.

One way or another, please share the truth about Langmaster's unprofessional behavior,

so that they can't just keep silent, not fix anything, and not suffer any consequences.

There's one more thing.

He's been dead for like, three weeks,

and I'm still wearing his tail as a choker.

And lately, I've been using his blood for rouge.

I know it sounds disgusting,

but who could argue with these results?

And this teen, chooses to kill her captor Jonathan.

I'm so weird.

What goes better with rosy cheeks

than cement-colored eyeshadow?

You can find concrete from any sidewalk,

fortified basement,

or Sephora.

Use any tool you have to scrape off some cement.

Now, I know a lot of girls who have

lost a lot of fingernails scraping the walls in here,

so I don't recommend that.

Save those nails, to claw Jonathan's face.

Personally,

I use this spoon I found.

Finally, don't forget about those luscious lips.

It's the closest thing to feeling high in here.

Forgotten Realms Pantheon - Tyr and Umberlee - Duration: 6:03.

Hello everybody Jorphdan here the PH is silent.

I've gotten a few requests on facebook and twitter for future topics to cover.

Just to keep you in the know I have a fairly long list of topics that when I need to make

a new video I pull from.

I can't promise I'll get to your long awaited topic soon but eventually I hope to.

That being said let's get to the lore!

Today's video is about Tyr the god of justice and Umberlee the evil goddess of the sea.

Tyr known as the Grimjaws, the Maimed God, The Blind Overlord, and the just god is the

deity of law and justice.

His followers uphold the law and seek out those that break it, bringing them to justice.

His will is justice through force and armed vigilance.

He opposes trickery and rule-breaking.

Known as the Maimed God because Tyr is missing his right hand, and both his eyes.

Tyr lost his hand fighting Kezef the Chaos Hound, who was an ancient primordial that

appeared after the creation of Realmspace.

This creature was based on Fenrir from Norse mythology and appeared as a huge mastiff with

red eyes and maggots teeming in his fur.

The Faerunian gods chased Kezef to stop him from eating the souls of the Faithful.

When they cornered him they bet Kezef he could not break a leash created by Gond.

Kezef agreed Gond could put the leash around his neck but insisted that Tyr place his hand

in Kezef's mouth.

When Kezef discovered he could not break free and was truly defeated he bit off Tyr's

hand and feasted on its divine essence for centuries.

Tyr lost his eyesight by questioning Lord Ao.

During the time of troubles Lord Ao punished all the gods by sending them to the prime

material plane for the theft of the tablets of fate.

Tyr spoke ill of this decision saying not all should be punished for the actions of

a particular god, it wasn't just.

At that exact moment Lord Ao took Tyr's eyes and he was struck blind.

It was Ilmater that taught Tyr how to work through his disabilities, but being a greater deity

he wasn't set back by much.

Torm and Ilmater serve Tyr and the three are known as the Triad.

Tyr's faith is popular, in part because everyone knows what Tyr expects of his faithful.

The public can also trust Tyrrans to be honorable, honest, just, and righteous.

Judges, bureaucrats, and merchants tend to worship Tyr, seeing the world in clear-cut

moral terms.

They are the people who don't find mockery, or parody amusing.

Questioning their faith, their word, or even the law is not acceptable or understood.

The church of Tyr is highly organized, there are unsurprisingly rules for everything.

At a Tyrran temple the faithful can find lodging, healing, weapons, gear, and holy advice.

There is a hierarchy to the temples of Tyr, and it is followed strictly.

"Reveal the truth, punish the guilty, right the wrong, and be always true and just in

your actions" is what Tyr calls upon for his faithful.

It's not about equality or fairness it is about truth and punishment.

In the wilderness the priests of Tyr serve as judge, jury, and executioner.

There is no law but that of the sword.

In the city they become lawyers or legal experts dispensing advice, and fees charged go directly

back to the Church of Tyr.

The Fortress Faithful in Tethyr is the most popular temple of Tyr.

There are organized clerics, knights and especially paladins of Tyr.

Two church-sponsored orders of paladins are the Knights of Holy Judgement and the Knights

of the Merciful Sword.

The first tend to be lawful followers and the second tend to be the more good followers.

In more recent history Tyr killed Helm in a dual in 1384 DR when he mistakenly thought

Helm stole Tymora's heart.

Soon after in 1385 DR Tyr gave up his godhood and his portfolio was absorbed by Bahamut

who then served Torm.

Tyr died sometime after 1385 DR defending the upper realms from a demonic incursion.

It wasn't until the Sundering occured that Tyr was reformed and brought back into

the Faerun Pantheon.

Many of his followers still worshiped Tyr despite his death and were very excited to

see him return.

Up next is Umberlee.

In sharp contrast to Tyr she is the chaotic evil deity of the sea.

Commonly known as the Bitch Queen she is most often worshiped by sailors or people traveling

by sea.

Like other evil deities she is worshiped out of fear, people pray to her so she might avoid

them on the sea.

Sometimes crew of a ship will throw over gems into the sea to calm stormy waters.

Not so many temples to Umberlee but there are shrines in coastal areas.

Sailors will leave gifts or flowers at these shrines before setting out onto the water.

Merchants who have goods traveling by sea might also worship Umberlee, as well as island

communities who could be frequented by oceanic storms.

Umberlee lives in a flooded layer of the Abyss and contests the sailors of Faerun with Selune.

Selune who aids sea navigation through the stars.

Umberlee is malicious, mean, and evil.

She is vain and expects to be flattered and has a heavy greed for power.

During the time of troubles Umberlee lived in the Sea of Fallen Stars destroying ships

and creating storms.

Evil and some neutral people follow Umberlee.

Her priests and followers are extremely disorganized.

All those offerings given up at shrines to Umberlee, her priests will travel between

coastal cities and take them.

Often trying to demand more gold coin be left at altars to Umberlee for their benefit.

They will throw buckets of sea water onto the shrine as if to say the Sea Queen has

taken her gifts.

The dogma of the church revolves around the sea as a savage place.

The faithful of Umberlee have no ethical outlook on life.

Merely stating that if you wish to travel by water you best pay the price to their

goddess.

Priests spend their spare time preaching fear of Umberlee into the hearts of others.

Looking for new followers who will worship out of fear.

They preach doom and destruction in the form of oceanic storms that could destroy ships

or coastal towns.

Some places will pay priests of Umberlee to escort them along their ocean voyage, hoping

the Sea Queen will overlook them.

The House on the Cliff in Cormyr was the largest and most influential temple of Umberlee, but

alas was destroyed during the Time of Troubles.

Currently there are other temples vying for the position of "greatest temple" but

the lack of organization within the church prevents this from really happening.

There are no affiliated orders of Umberlee, but there is an adventuring order that pursues

treasure along the ocean floor.

Her followers are extremely greedy, which I find odd for a sea based deity.

That's it for today.

Being a paladin of Tyr is that paladin archetype, and I like playing against type so I don't

think Tyr is the deity for me.

A pickpocketing water genasi paladin of Umberlee, that would be an interesting choice.

BOMBSHELL: Hillary Illegally Laundered $84 Million They Found Everything!

Politics is all over the place right now as President Donald Trump works on making America

great, theories and investigations into made-up collusions going on, Robert Mueller getting

caught up in some shadiness, and Hillary Clinton photos surfacing with her wearing a back brace

or bulletproof vest cause the people on social media to turn into a comedy factory.

While the shenanigans take place, there's real stuff going on in the background.

One of the biggest breaking stories just uncovered has Hillary Clinton linked, to an alleged

case of laundering $84 million and there appear to be FEC records to back it up.

If you thought Trump was the only one dealing with a "stormy" situation, then think

again.

This time Hillary Clinton and her alleged laundering case steals the show as the headline

act, and the storm of criminal activity looming above Hillary are about to rain down upon

her legacy.

The clouds of the mainstream media may not be able to shelter people from this storm,

so let's embrace it and base it strictly upon facts and the evidence revealed in the

story by The Federalist that reveals what the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and

Hillary Clinton could face legal trouble over.

Right away it involves $84 million in a money-laundering conspiracy that may have been done, during

the 2016 election which would be a violation of a campaign-finance law.

The Federalist revealed more: "That lawsuit, filed last week in a DC district court, summarizes

the DNC-Clinton conspiracy and provides detailed evidence from Federal Election Commission,

filings confirming the complaint's allegations that Democrats undertook, an extensive scheme

to violate federal campaign limits.

From Bundling To Money Laundering Dan Backer, a campaign-finance lawyer and

attorney-of-record in the lawsuit, explained the underlying law in an article for Investor's

Business Daily: Under federal law, "an individual donor can contribute $2,700 to any candidate,

$10,000 to any state party committee, and (during the 2016 cycle) $33,400 to a national

party's main account.

These groups can all get together and take a single check from a donor for the sum of

those contribution limits, it's legal because the donor cannot exceed the base limit for

any one recipient.

And state parties can make unlimited transfer to their national party."

This legal loophole allows "bundlers" to raise large sums of money from wealthy

donors more than $400,000, at a time filtering the funds to the national committees.

Democrats and Republicans alike exploit this tactic.

But once the money reaches the national committees, other limits apply.

Suspecting the DNC had exceeded those limits, a client of Backer's, the Committee to Defend

the President, began reviewing FEC filings to determine whether there was excessive coordination

between the DNC and Clinton.

What Backer discovered, as he explained in an interview, was much worse.

There was "extensive evidence in the Democrats own FEC reports, when coupled with their own

public statements that demonstrated massive straw man contributions papered through the

state parties, to the DNC, and then directly to Clinton's campaign in clear violation

of federal campaign-finance law."

On behalf of his clients, on December 15, 2017 Backer filed an 86-page complaint with

the FEC, asking the FEC to commence enforcement proceedings against Hillary Clinton, her campaign

and its treasurer, the DNC and its treasurer, and the participating state Democratic committees.

The complaint, and an attached exhibit consisting of nearly 20 pages of Excel spreadsheets,

detailed the misconduct and provided concrete evidence supporting the allegations.

In short, here's what happened and what the evidence establishes.

During the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton, the DNC, and participating state

Democratic committees established the Hillary Victory Fund (HVF) as a joint fundraising

committee to accept contributions from large donors, some exceeding $400,000.

So far, so good.

To comply with campaign finance law, the HVF needed to transfer the donations to the specified

recipients, whether the Clinton campaign, down-ticket Democrats, the DNC, or state committees.

FEC records, however, show several large contributions reported as received by the HVF, and the same

amount on the same day (or occasionally the following day) recorded as received by the

DNC from a state Democratic committee, but without the state Democratic committee ever

reporting the contribution.

For instance, the HVF reported transferring $19,500 to the Mississippi Democratic Party

on November 2, 2015, and the Democratic National Committee reported receiving $19,500 from

the Mississippi Democratic Party on November 2, 2015.

But the Mississippi Democratic Party never recorded the receipt or the disbursement of

the $19,500, and without the Mississippi Democratic Party controlling the funds, the HVF contribution

to the DNC violated campaign finance law.

Over a 13-month period, FEC records show some 30 separate occasions when the HVF transferred

contributions totaling more than $10 million to the DNC, without any corresponding record

of the receipt or disbursement from the state parties, thus illegally leap-frogging the

state Democratic parties.

On the other hand, of the contributions state parties reported as received from the HVF,

99 percent wound up at the DNC.

They were transferred immediately or within a day or two, raising questions of whether

the state Democratic committees truly exercised control, over the money something necessary

under campaign finance law to allow a later-legal transfer to the DNC."

What can the American citizens do with this information?

If you're a Democrat, then how do you feel about the beloved Hillary Clinton possibly

facing legal trouble over that much money being laundered?

Republicans will likely applaud the day that Hillary faces a true legal situation, although

it appears that the chances of her "going down" in court are slim to none do to the

people who back her up.

First lady Melania Trump just sent them packing!

She released multiple people from their positions, as she would not allow taxpayers to be ripped

off for jobs that were simply not needed quite contrary to the former first lady, Michelle

Obama.

While Melania Trump takes on bigger roles and a more active schedule, she has proven

herself to spend a lot less than what Obama did.

This news comes about as Melania Trump runs one of the lightest East Wings in recent history.

Michelle Obama was reported to have 16 people working under her, being paid a combined $1.24

million.

Melania Trump's staff is only four people who earn a combined $486,700, much less in

comparison to Obama.

Knowing that Melania Trump refuses to hire 12 extra people to do jobs, that can be handled

by herself and four others is a wonderful bit of information, as it reduces wasteful

spending of the taxpayer money.

Not carrying the extra staff for jobs that can be handled by fewer people is a step in

the right direction towards reducing the amount of money spent by the administration and shows

that Melania cares to be mindful in her position as the first lady.

That's an enjoyable quality for a first lady to have as it spreads a message about

being responsible and not overspending.

Fox News reported more on Melania's smaller staff: "The details are contained in an

annual report the White House sends to Congress showing the names, positions and salaries

of all its personnel.

Both the Obama and Trump administrations acknowledged several additional staffers beyond those listed

in the report with the term "first lady" in their titles.

But even counting all those employees — 24 for Michelle Obama and nine for the current

first lady — Melania Trump's office is relatively small.

It's an approach her spokeswoman says is intentional.

As with all things that she does, she is being very deliberate in her hiring, focusing on

quality over quantity," communications director Stephanie Grisham said in an email.

"It is important to her that the team is a good fit for what she wants to accomplish

as first lady, and that everyone works well together.

She also wants to be mindful and responsible when it comes to taxpayer money."

While the 2009 annual report listed 16 staffers for Michelle Obama, her press secretary said

at the time the staff actually included 24 people.

A 2009 FactCheck.org story said Obama's 24 aides might have broken records.

"That may indeed be the largest of any first lady, but Hillary Clinton, with 19 staffers,

and Laura Bush with at least 18 and perhaps more, weren't far behind," FactCheck.org

said.

Grisham told Fox News this week there are nine people working in the East Wing under

Melania Trump, a few more than listed in the annual report.

According to those personnel reports, Melania Trump's staffers include a chief of staff,

a communications director, a deputy chief of staff and a deputy director of advance.

Michelle Obama's staff included those same positions and a slew of others: additional

press aides, a director of policy and projects, a personal aide, a traveling aide and a director

of correspondence.
