-Thanks to newly developed technology, we here

at "Late Night" now have the ability to record the tiny voice

that is inside Donald Trump's head.

You might be surprised to know

that like everyone's inner voice,

Donald Trump's is filled

with paralyzing fear and self-doubt.

So here it is again,

the tiny voice in the back of Donald Trump's head.

♪♪

-Hey, Donald, it's the tiny voice in the back of your head.

And are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Hat! Cool hat!

You're supposed to be focusing on what this man is saying,

and how come you don't have one.

Also, he's got a kick-ass sheriff's badge,

But you know what? You gotta listen.

You're the president.

So think about anything other than the hat.

Hat, hat, hat, hat. Hat, hat, hat, hat.

-Jared, how about saying a few words?

You've worked so hard on this.

Trump và Tập Đã Nhất Trí Điều Gì Tại G20? | - Duration: 8:57.

Donald Trump...

versus Xi Jinping.

Saturday's meeting between Donald Trump and China's Xi Jinping

ended in a trade truce...

...or did it?!

Hi.

Welcome back to China Uncensored.

I'm your host, Chris Chappell.

The G20.

It's like going on vacation with your entire extended family

that you barely get along with.

Unlike the G7,

which is like going on vacation with your immediate family

that you...

barely get along with.

And just like my family vacations,

there were plenty of protests,

tons of security,

and loads of photo ops.

Now doesn't that just scream

"we're happy to be here!"

Anyway,

the annual G20 meeting

was held in Argentina over the weekend.

It's a forum where world leaders get together

basically to discuss ways to avoid international crises.

And in some cases,

to slap exuberant high-fives to cement their budding bromances.

I wonder if there's a backstory here.

"We meet later.

I show you how to kill many journalist."

Poison.

The trick is poison.

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned,

the G20's single most important event was

a working dinner between

US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

One of the big issues for Trump

was stemming the flow of fentanyl from China.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid drug.

And fentanyl coming illegally from China

is a big part of the deadly drug epidemic in the US.

The closed door dinner meeting

lasted an hour longer than expected,

so there was obviously no shortage of other stuff to talk about.

For example:

trade tariffs, intellectual property theft,

government subsidies, and of course,

whether you should eat steak with a fork or with chopsticks.

Of course,

the press had to leave before the steak arrived,

so we don't know exactly what Trump and Xi Jinping talked about.

But we do know how it ended.

Sort of.

OK, it's complicated.

The White House issued a press statement....

...and so did the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

And they don't exactly match up.

The US said China would

"designate Fentanyl as a Controlled Substance,

meaning that people selling Fentanyl to the United States

will be subject to China's maximum penalty under the law."

But China merely said it would

"start working to adjust related regulations."

Those two statements are not the same.

It's like your wife expects you to fix the garage door,

but technically you only agreed to start

exploring garage-door-related issues.

Now when it comes to trade,

there was also a bit of a mismatch.

Originally the US was going to raise tariffs

on 200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25%,

starting on January 1st.

After the meeting,

according to the White House,

Trump agreed to delay those tariffs for 90 days.

That aims to allow both sides to reach an agreement on

"structural changes with respect to forced technology transfer,

intellectual property protection,

non-tariff barriers,

cyber intrusions and cyber theft."

But did the Chinese Foreign Ministry admit to

any of those things?

Of course not!

They just said both sides reached consensus

and agreed not to impose new additional tariffs.

Wait,

did they not hear the "for 90 days" part?

Or did they just forget to write it down?

Also, according to the White House,

"China will agree to purchase a not yet agreed upon,

but very substantial,

amount of agricultural, energy, industrial,

and other product from the United States

to reduce the trade imbalance."

But the Chinese statement merely said

"it will work to open its market,

expand imports and resolve economy- and trade-related issues."

And they "called on the two sides to

realize cooperation for win-win results."

And of course that

"The foundation and premise of any positive moves

is a concrete agreement featuring mutually beneficial

and win-win results."

Yes, it's a win-win.

China has even said they're going to allow

Trump's speeches on state-run CCTV.

With some minor edits.

"We're gonna win-win with trade.

We're gonna win-win with health.

We're gonna win-win at so many levels.

We're gonna win-win.

You're gonna get so tired of win-winning.

You're gonna say,

'Mr. President, please!

We don't want to win-win anymore!

It's too much!'

And I'm gonna say,

'I'm sorry,

we're gonna keep win-winning.'"

I guess that's what happens when you make deals

with Win-Winnie the Pooh.

That being said,

it's possible the Chinese Communist Party

has a somewhat different definition of win-win.

China expert Bill Bishop says

it's likely that China has

no intention of making the kind of structural changes

to its unfair trade policies that the US is calling for.

"The Chinese are always playing for time,"

he says, "and any pause that involves more talking

is a victory for Beijing,

as it only adds to the chances they have

for a shift to a more favorable US domestic political environment."

This is echoed by the South China Morning Post,

which argues that now comes the hard part:

making good on China's trade war truce promises.

And that,

according to Nicholas Consonery,

director of the research firm Rhodium Group,

just doesn't seem likely.

"We've got a window now to see how serious

the Chinese government is about moving forward

with structural economic reform," he said.

"And recent history doesn't lead us to a very optimistic place."

So it would seem that it's a pretty tall order

for Chinese and American negotiators to agree

within just 90 days on the massive structural changes

China needs to make.

Especially when they can't even agree

on what they agreed on at the meeting.

Besides,

Xi Jinping may try to drag things out as long as he can.

Because he knows that while President Trump

only has another 2 to 6 years in office,

he gets to be president for life.

Provided that Xi can continue

to fend off the other Communist Party faction

that's out for his blood.

But that's another episode.

So what do you think about the G20 meeting

between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping?

Leave your comments below.

And before you go,

it's time for me to answer a question

from one of you who supports China Uncensored

through the crowdfunding website Patreon.

David Blatt asks:

"Why don't states in the middle east,

where Islam is so important it's often the official religion

and justice systems are based on it in the form of Sharia Law,

help the Uyghurs of China

from the oppression of the infidel CCP?"

Good question, David.

My simple answer is,

geopolitics are strategic,

and decisions are not always based on good moral choices,

or even based on religious alliances.

Consider this:

For most of the big Islamic countries

including Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey,

and the United Arab Emirates

their biggest trade partner is China.

So a lot of governments might think it's not a good idea to rock the boat.

And also countries like

Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt,

don't have the best human rights records.

Many of them are authoritarian regimes that,

like the Chinese Communist Party,

emphasize so-called "social stability",

as well as also non-interference

with the internal affairs of other countries.

Which really means that they don't want other countries

to interfere in their internal affairs.

Just like the Chinese Communist Party.

So this looks like a case where geopolitical

and strategic economic interests

are more important than religious interests.

But I would argue that even for people

who don't care about Islam,

it's important to condemn what the Chinese Communist Party

is doing to the Uighurs.

The techniques they're developing to spy on and oppress Uighurs

they're honing those skills,

and the next time they go after another group,

they'll oppress that group even more.

And if you're in China,

one day, that group could include you.

So thanks for your...

depressing question, David.

Welcome to the speak your success podcast

I'm your host TEDX speaker and best-selling author Jonathan Jones. And today we're here

Today we're here

today is my

31st birthday, so today is our birthday episode

I don't want to really waste too much time

I want to go ahead and get into today's episode cuz I'm really I'm really excited actually about

Just about what was prepared today and and and how I hope the content is going to bless some body

I was thinking how do I want to come at this topic? And

Just really trying to figure out what needs to be said

so I said

Ten lessons that 30 taught me that's right one more time ten lessons that 30 has taught me

So we're gonna go straight into today's

Content and I want to just shout out everybody who's been following on YouTube who's been liking who's been coming who's been subscribing?

I really appreciate you all I'm rocking with you. I love just the engagement that you have

Everybody who comments on my youtube videos miss Nikki. She's a real faithful supporter

Man, who else I just want to I just want to call out some people match

What just keep it real for those of you who have not subscribed to YouTube make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel

Individuals like one minute one life. He's been a great great great great supporter. Also individuals like Joss

Poet Yahoo! The poetic wordsmith. He's phenomenal. They're all around vegan. I love her man

Lobo show the Lobo show like these people have been faithfully supporting and just really

Showing up and showing out. So I really just wanted to give them a quick second to give them those roses and say

Thank you for what they've been doing but now we're gonna go ahead and dive in to today

There's ten things. Hmm

We're gonna count them down so number ten

Following up matters

I think so often we think that just because we do something or scratch that at one point

I would go and do things I would go call the school. I would reach out to somebody about speaking somewhere and

I will send an email I

would just do a phone call and I never took the time to go back and

follow up

but one thing that xxx has taught me is that

Following up matters John if you're expecting that if you're expecting to grow with individual you need to follow up

So I learned this year on follow up

Before the engagement follow up after engagement stay connected with these people because following up is very important in whatever

Area you tamo if you met somebody's mom or dad or whatever at Thanksgiving or Christmas send them a card shoot them a message

um, well maybe not shoot message on Facebook, but send them a card follow-up just so people remember

You and so you're always in the forefront of people's mind

number nine

Relationships are the new currency get you some

They say the sum of your five closest friends if you look at those individuals

That is all you need to know to see where you'll be in the next five years

So I want you to begin to think about who are those people that's in your circle at one point

I used to want to know everybody I used to want to be so popular

I used to want to have all the friends in high school and I think I actually heard Jay will say this on a podcast

a brother by name of Joshua Wilson

I was listening to one of his podcast

Interviews, and he was saying that it's funny because you want to be popular when you're in high school

But then as you get older and as you age a little bit

Then you began to realize that I don't need as many friends as I once desired to have

because the more friends that you have the more you required to be available for them the more

Funds that might cost you if you have somebody who gets in a jam

so I want you to begin to think about who are these people who are

your relationships because like I said

Relationships are the new currency and if you're not connecting with people and seeing how you can add value to them

Or seeing hell you can put them in position to benefit then. What are you really doing, right?

Number eight

Ask for what you want. That's what you want baby. Ask for what you want when you go to the drive-thru

They always say, how may I help you? When you go to stores in different places like that?

People are always asking you questions. People will ask you what you want in your life

But if you never take the time

to ask other people

How can you expect to get what you desire?

You have to ask and you have to be direct in your ass. You don't can't be uh think I kinda wanna

No, no, no, no ask for what you want because if you don't ask then you will never know

Hello. Hello

hmm think about some of the think about

Number seven Oh

Lord that's a I did. Oh I did for for number seven

Yikes, if you're listening to the podcast need to watch on YouTube because I'm struggling to count down my fingers right now

But number seven passivity is so unattractive. So

I

Have a girlfriend right and she would tell me when we first dated that

Then I was passive and

Hearing that really grinding my gears

Okay, can I be honest can we be transparent even though it's not Tuesday? It grinded my gears man

He grinded my gears ladies. It was very upsetting to me, but ultimately it challenged me to

Challenge my passivity. So now when we have conversations and we talk about certain things I

Eliminate passivity at all. I don't want to seem indecisive at all. I'll give a straight answer

I'll give a clear answer and I'll move forward because I want to kill passivity in moderation. I don't want passivity anywhere

No, get away from me passivity. You have no place here. You need to get out my face

Kill it

Number six number six do what you're passionate about doing not what others make you do

Right, we have to begin to move through our lives and do what we want to do

Do what we're passionate about doing so many times

I was doing things that I felt other people wanted me to do as opposed to doing what I wanted to do now

I'm at a place in my life where if you asked me to do something, and I don't want to do it. I

Won't do it if it's for my mom or my dad or somebody who I respect and they asked me to do something

I know it's something that needs to get done or it's required to get done then I might bite that bullet. However

But in my life the things I'm doing with what I desire in my life this podcast is what I wanted to do

Okay speaking is what I wanted to do

Doing these things

I had to come to a place where I would no longer allow myself to be subject to do

What people want me to do in my life? You don't have no stock over here playboy you cannot

Tell me what I'm gonna do with my life because at the end of my life

I'm gonna be satisfied because I did what I was passionate about doing

Not what everybody else told me to do not what was necessarily popular

But what I wanted to do

Number five

Procrastination kills progress. It's

It's tough sometimes because we want to wait scratch that I got I don't want to say we I'm gonna talk about myself

Procrastination the times that I would stay up late in the times that I would end

Up waking up later in the day. I would say man. I feel like I missed out on X amount of hours

Typically, there's like two hours or three hours

Because I stayed up late

So I would I missed out because I was procrastinating and I didn't get the amount of work. I wanted to get done that day

Because I wouldn't make to sleep

now in your life

Where's the area where you've been procrastinating is?

2019 new year new me

Happy new year great. That's that's wonderful. But there's still some things where you're you you're holding your Biden punches

You're like hi. I don't I

Don't know should I should I do this? I don't think I want to do a

Prime example, okay, probably example West whereas weird women down

Right for me. I saw patreon and I was like, I don't wanna do a patreon page. I don't think that's necessary

I don't want to do that

However, I just finally put it all together and I'm releasing the patreon today on my birthday

So now we have a patreon page

So if you want to check out that and get more information on that, we definitely can do that. I

have the information down at the end of the episode so

We just listed off number 5 which is procrastination kills progress

Too often, like I said before I was dragging my feet. I

Thought everybody else around me creating patreon pages

I was like what is patreon and I was like, I'm not gonna create no patreon that don't make no sir

I don't want no patreon page

but then I was dragging I

filled out a couple of boxes

Then I'm just dragging to fit a little bit more information. Then I was dragging I was like, okay

So now I'm happy to announce that we have a patreon page for speak your success

We created a patreon page for speak your success, which is now releasing on my birthday, which is January 25th

Boom, there. It is. So patreon kills progress. Don't allow yourself to get caught up waiting around for other people

Don't allow yourself to get caught up waiting for everything to be perfect everything to be right for that relationship everything to be perfect

Before you pop the question waiting for everything to be perfect

Before you start your business everything to be perfect before you have a logo everything be perfect for you release your podcast

perfection does not exist unless

We're talking about Barbies because Barbie is supposed to be what profession looks like. I guess. I don't know

But Bobby's not even perfect

So don't get caught up in

In procrastinating because you're waiting on perfection because that's not the best way that it goes

So I want you just to constantly remember that and remind yourself procrastination kills next

number four

Contentment does not equal complacency I

Wanted to share that because I had to realize and come to realization for my own self is that

John you you can become tenth right here where you are in your life

You're 30 now about to be 31

You got your college degree. You got your high school diploma. You've been able to achieve a certain level

You can be content here. You can enjoy this you can appreciate this

But just because you're an enjoying and just because you're appreciating this don't become complacent and I and thinking about that

it really motivated me steal because

Complacency can be can be really dangerous and that's when we sit and we revel too long

We can celebrate the things that we've accomplished we can celebrate what we've done. We can celebrate where we are in our lives

However, we have to still remember that there's so much more of the journey that continue to keep going

If we're on this side of the dirt if we're on this side

We need to just keep moving keep going keep going and keep growing number three

If you want to pick my brain

That comes with the invoice

once again

This is ten lessons that thirty years taught me if you want to pick my brain

That comes with an invoice because I've realized that I would sit down and I would talk to people and I would give them great

information

Life-changing information information that would allow them to generate income

And I wouldn't put a price on it

So they decide to put that price on it, which was nothing because they didn't take the information

They didn't utilize the information and then they didn't see the benefit of what could it came from it?

But what did it cost me? It cost me time

It cost me gas and it cost me money to go meet up with these people. So

Therefore I realize if you want to pick my brain we can do it. I have no problem doing it

I will sit down and have a consulting session with you. But you're going to pay an invoice first before that even happens

Because there's too much information out here too much information. I have accrued by reading books by watching videos by paying for car

I've invested over

I've invested a decent amount of money in coach at this point and

people

Sometimes want to get information for free

Which is cool. You can do it on YouTube

But nah, if you if you couldn't pick my brain you go you gonna come with the same voice

You definitely come to the same voice

number two

It's one thing to prepare

for something

for that moment for

that significant other

for that job opportunity

But it's another thing to get it

You can never forget what level of preparation it took you to get to the stage that you desired

You might have been here and you're like well

I have to get I have to work a little bit harder

I have to show up to work a little bit earlier. I have to pursue her like this

I have to buy her the roses after by the candy. She has to see an effort

She wants to go on date. I have to do these things, but if you are

Preparing you're here. But you're preparing to get the woman who's up here

My friends

You have to continue to keep this level of effort up

You can't digress because once you digress mi, hope my friends are watching on YouTube because I'm doing a visual right now

I'm showing you what it looks like

If you're at the bottom of the mountainous she's at the top

Once you climb to the top of the mountain, you have to continue to keep that same effort

For that individual for that opportunity for that job you it took you a certain level of hunger took you a certain level of dedication

it took you a certain level of sacrifice took you a certain level of

investment people and if we don't stay invested if we don't stay locked in if we don't stay committed to

What was at the top of the mountain which first peaked our interest in which first really helped us generate that Drive that grit

Then we'll lose it faster than we even gained it

number one

the most important thing that I've learned that life has taught me at 30 the

Most important lesson I feel in life has taught me at 30

Life happens

No matter what you plan no matter how well you prepare

No matter what you do life happens and it will continue to happen

But how will you respond to life happening?

When life hits you upside the head how will you respond?

Hmm, how are you respond?

Will you get angry?

and react to life

Say life. This isn't fair

What do you mean I can't do

What do you mean? I can't have

Well, why can't I?

But why did they break up with?

Life happens

Or are you gonna respond and say you know what?

That was tough. You know. Hey

This person left my life, but maybe they weren't meant to be with me in the long haul

But I decided to get this but maybe I wasn't ready for it in that moment

But I thought that I was ready but I might need to invest a little bit more a

Little bit more time a little bit more effort a little bit more dedication show where my heart really is

Show that I'm really in

To building a podcast Empire show that I'm really about

building that level of impact show that I'm really here to do what I said I'm here to do because life happens in life will

Test you my friends

And see if you're really about what you said you're about

My favorite speaker speaker inky johnson, he always says that versity will hit you

And it will see if you have the same feelings before

As

After when adversity because adversities gonna hit you is gonna test you to see how strong you really are

To see how strong your character is

To see where your motives really lie and

That's just the question. I want to ask you today. Where do your motives live?

If adversity hits you are you going to quit?

Because

If we quit then imagine the amount of people that we won't be able to reach

because they'll say but John I mean you I love what you're doing here, but

On this part you you came up short because you stopped

John your influential book man, what happened over here? I mean, you're a great businessman, but what about what about your family over here?

John you had two kids and then you got what you walked out on your wife. Why would you do hmm?

Adversity is gonna come in your relationship. It's gonna come in your business idea. It's gonna come while you're at work

It's gonna come when you're on the climb of the corporate ladder. How will you?

respond

Or will you react when life happens because it's gonna come at you from all angles and all sides

But when you overcome that adversity, my friend

Then you're ready for that next level

I just want to share ten lessons that thirty years taught me because it's my birthday, baby

Man I'm grateful for all of you

All who took the time to listen to Dave took the time to rock with me

And who helped me bring in my birthday this year?

so friends
