Hi everybody, my name Khuong Nguyen, an Australia resident.

I migrated to Australia under skilled immigration visa.

In this video, I gonna show you ALL important things you need to know about skilled immigration.

If you watch this video, you know one of the best and most cost effective way to migrate to Australia,

which 99% Vietnamese might have not known.

You don't have any relative or company to support?

All you have is an education degree, working experience and relatively good English skills?

Skilled immigration could be the way FOR YOU.

Migrate to Australia with Khuong Nguyen

Ok, the first thing you need to know is what are the benefits of Australia immigration?

Well, there are many benefits and I will go into details in the next video.

Here, I just mention the most important benefit.

It is that not only you but also all of your family members

(wife, husband and children) will be granted by Australia government

the so called PR (Permanent Resident)

This PR will allow you to live in Australia indefinitely

and you can exit or enter Australia at any time.

You can consider Australia as your second home.

Along with this residence allowance, you also have social benefits

Along with this residence allowance, you also have government support

like you can apply to have support when you have baby,

when you are unemployed, have low income

or when you are unfortunately suffer from accident and become disable.

In addition, you have other social benefits

such as free medical care and education.

Completely FREE.

Those are the benefits which I think they are very good

when you are lucky to migrate to Australia.

If you have PR and move to live Australia for 4 years,

then you can apply for Australia citizenship

to officially become Australia citizen.

The second thing you need to know is what occupations are eligible to migrate to Australia?

It is easy to know.

You can use your mobile phone, laptop

to access to internet,

use Google and search for 'Occupation List Australia'.

From the google search results,

you should choose links or websites which have .gov.au in the end.

It is because you want to ensure that the website you are looking at

is the official website of Australia Immigration Department or Australia government

is the official website of Australia Immigration Department or Australia government.

Please note that if you access to other websites which do not have .gov.au in the end,

you still have information but you can not always ensure that

the information you read is the most accurate and up-to-date.

The best thing you can do is to only check information from .gov.au website.

After you access to Immigration Department website,

you find the link 'Combined current list of eligible skilled occupations'.

From that, you have the compete list of all occupations

which are eligible to migrate to Australia under skilled immigration program.

Just quickly looking at the list,

you can find common occupations in Vietnam

like software developer, architect,

software tester,

electronic engineer,

nurse,

teacher, cook etc...

These occupations are very popular in Vietnam

are they are in the list of skilled immigration program.

You can also see that Australia government,

they put occupations into 3 groups

The first group is Long Term,

which means if your occupation is in Long Term group,

you can independently apply visa to Australia,

no need state sponsor.

If your occupation is in Short Term group,

you will need state sponsor.

For those who have occupations in Regional group,

they will need sponsor from small states or regions.

The third thing you need to know is

which visa is skilled immigration and what are the requirements?

Let's talk first about which visa is skilled immigration.

There're 3 visas.

189, 190 and 489 visa.

Like I said earlier, 189 visa is for Long Term occupation group which does not need state sponsor.

190 visa if for Short Term occupation group which needs state sponsor.

If your occupation is in Regional group,

you have only one choice is 489 visa and you need to apply for sponsor from small region or state in Australia.

Each state has different requirements for state sponsor

and they can change from time to time.

Therefore, if you want to check requirements of state sponsor,

you must go into state's websites.

You might need to check regularly because the requirements can change any time.

There are 8 states in Australia.

New South Wales

Victoria,

Australia Capital Territory,

Queensland,

South Australia,

Western Australia,

North Territory

and Tasmania.

Checking these websites is easy.

You just google search '<state name> immigration'

A quick note that NSW and VIC are 2 big states

A quick note that NSW (Sydney city) and VIC (Melbourne) are 2 big states.

Sydney and Melbourne are 2 biggest cities in Australia.

Sydney and Melbourne are 2 biggest cities in Australia

so you should expect high requirements from NSW and VIC state sponsor.

It is because NSW and VIC are hot state

obviously since almost all immigrants want to live in big city.

If you really want to live in big cities,

be prepared to compete with meet high requirements for state sponsor

as you have to compete with strong candidates

not only from Vietnam but also from all countries around the world

such as Singapore, England, India and European countries.

Talking about visa requirements,

you would like to take it simply that

all 3 visas require you to get at least 65 points

in according to Immigration Department's point test system.

I will go in details of the point test system in the other video,

here you just need to know whey they create such 65-point test system.

Their purpose is to rank and filter to find the best and most suitable people

who can move to Australia as skilled immigrants.

For example, if you are young,

you are very good at English,

you have Bachelor degree from notable university,

and you have lots of working experience,

then it will certainly easier y for you to achieve 65 points

than your friend who are older than you,

are not very good at English,

only have College degree and

a few years of working experience.

In general, among these 3 visas,

189 visa is the most difficult.

If you have 189 visa,

you have PR right away,

and you can live anywhere in Australia (any state, any region in Australia) as you wish.

For 190 visa, you also have PR right away,

but the visa has the condition that

you should live at least 2 years in the state which sponsored you.

489 visa is easier than the other 2 visas,

but 489 visa requires you some further steps before you can get PR.

489 visa holders don't have PR right away

and they have to live in small state / region for at least 2 years.

and in those 2 years, you also need to have Full Time employment for at least 1 year.

If you meet those requirements, you can apply for PR after 2 years.

The forth thing you need to know is

step-by-step to apply visa.

I'll show you.

Step 1, you need to certify your education degree

and working experience.

Depending on each occupation, there will be different organisation to certify it.

You want to know which organisation to certify your occupation?

Just check the Occupation List,

open it out and find the column named Assessing Authority

For example, my occupation is Systems Test Engineer,

I find that the Assessing Authority is ACS,

then I google to find the website of ACS or click the link to go to ACS website.

in order to find out what documents they require me to send them

so that they can certify that I really have knowledge and working experience

in the nominated occupation.

Usually, they require certified photocopy of your University Degree and transcript.

For working experience, they require reference letter

certify by the company you are working or used to work for

to show the duration of your employment

your job description, duties etc...

Normally, they will show you guideline and example so that

you know how to write reference letter,

which details you should include.

All you need to do is going to the website of your Assessing Authority

to read their required documents and submit exactly what they are asking for.

Step 2 - taking English exam.

You can take step 2 while you are preparing for step 1.

While you are preparing documents to send to Assessing Authority,

you can practice to get good score in English test.

The 2 most common English exam format are IELTS and PTE.

You can take either one of them,

depending on your preference or

which one you find most comfortable with.

Recently, I heard that people get high score with PTE easier than with IELTS.

So if have not known about PTE and are stuck at getting high score with IELTS,

consider to learn about PTE and take PTE exam as soon as possible.

Step 3 - after you have your degree and working experience certified

and you have desired score of English exam,

you log in to Skill Select system of Immigration Department

to make Expression of Interest (EOI).

EOI is simply an online form

where to list out your personal information,

you occupation, education degree,

your score from English exam,

and which visa you want to apply.

The Immigration Department create this EOI so they can control

numbers of people applying for visas every year.

Otherwise, there will be too many applications and they can never process all properly.

For 189 visa, you only need to create EOI.

For 190 and 489 visa, besides EOI, you need to apply for stage / region sponsor.

When your EOI is processed and you have state sponsor,

you will be invited to submit application directly to Immigration Department.

After you are invited, you carry on step 4.

If you reach this step,

you can say that you complete 80% of the whole process.

Many people are very happy when they receive invitation

from Immigration Department asking you to submit application.

In this step, you simply gather all documents

which you prepared in the previous steps

to submit to them.

If you are honest to fill in all of your information,

if you have all required documents and everything is clear,

your risk of having rejected visa is very low.

Documents normally are personal documents

such as Passport, National Identity Card,

form 80

and education documents

like degree, transcript

Employment documents such as

employment contract,

payslips,

bank statement showing you receive salary,

tax statement etc...

If your application include your spouse and children,

then of course you'll need to show relationship documents

to prove your relationship

like Family Household Booklet,

marriage certificate,

birth certificate.

There are also other documents like health check result

certified by approved doctor that you have good health, no infectious disease.

Then you need police check,.

For example, for Vietnamese, you'll need Personal Criminal Record (PCC).

If you live in a foreign country for more than 1 year,

then you'll need police check of that country

showing that you have not violate any rules

showing that you have not violate any rules.

All of these documents, you just gather all and provide to Immigration Department.

About visa cost, it could take roughly from AUD3,500 to AUD10,000

or more depending on how many people in the application.

For instance, your application only include you and your spouse,

you won't need too much money to pay for visa fee.

But if you have 2 or 3 children, then you need to pay more.

But don't worry, the visa fee is not very high.

Just around AUD3,500 to AUD10,000 or a little bit more.

Only one last thing I would like you to know - number 5 -

is that information of skilled immigration visas

is not very much difficult to understand and it is easy to find.

All information is public on Australia Government website, clearly.

You just need to read,

try to understand correctly what they say

and follow exactly as per guideline

to apply visa successfully.
