- Good morning, huntees and hunkles.
I'm chillin' on the balcony.
Here's our view, a view of the pool.
The ocean.
(sigh)
Anyways, Adam and I are getting dressed.
Well I'm dressed.
I usually get dressed first because I take the longest
and then he'll jump in the shower when I'm like,
when my make-up is finished.
Oh you ready?
Okay so, right now we are about to meet up with
Judy and Benji and we're going to Prisoner's Island.
And Adam and I, we've been there, about four years ago
when we were here last time and we saw
really old huge turtles, so we're just going to go
and experience that again,
with Judy and Benji.
So, we will see you on the ferry.
We're walking to the boat, morning Afla.
- Morning.
- [Latoya] There's Judy and Benji.
- Good Morning!
- I love when you do that, it's so cute.
(laughs)
Are you ready for Prisoner's Island?
- Yes, are you?
- Yes I'm excited. - (mumbles) hunkles.
Right, I wanna see the turtles.
I haven't seen them in so long.
- [Latoya] Aww, thank you, thank you so much.
- [Judy] Oh, thank you!
- [Latoya] Thank you.
Here you go.
- Appreciate that.
- [Latoya] Ooh, the water is actually refreshing.
Okay here we go.
(wind)
- I gotta balance the boat.
(hip hop music)
- [Latoya] We're getting closer.
(boat motor)
- Come on let's go.
Let's get it.
He had to change his shoes.
Alright, ready?
Okay ya'll are you ready to see the turtles?
- Well this guy's clearly excited,
he's about to meet his family.
(laughs)
You're right in with the turtles.
- Why don't you go in? - You look like one.
(laughs)
- Y'all are so funny.
They fight like brothers.
Well they are brothers but, oh god.
They're always going at each other.
Like children.
- [Adam] Thumbs up if you think this guy's a turtle.
(laughs)
- [Latoya] Both of them, thumbs up if--
- This guy's a big monkey here.
- Do y'all hear that noise?
- What happened, the wind?
- That's Adam dragging his feet.
Will you pick up your feet boy?
Jeez, you walk like (shuffling)
- [Adam] That's me relaxing.
- That's how Adam walks.
- Yeah that's how he walks.
How a monkey walks.
- [Adam] That's me relaxin'.
That's my vacation walk.
- And that's your everyday walk.
- [Latoya] It's been a while,
I haven't seen you in four years buddy.
How have you been, how's life?
You're still in the same position I see.
Oh my gosh, I wish Samia and Zayn could meet you.
Hopefully one day.
Yo dude, what's good?
Aww he's so cute.
- [Afla] Yo don't be shy you can't change who you are.
Smile Adam.
- Okay I thought,
'cause he was like make sure you watch your fingers,
the turtles, you know, could bite.
So I thought their neck would be like ahh,
trying to eat the entire thing,
but no it's super slow and chill.
(roars)
Oh my god you, I have to see another one,
you already fed him, he's full.

right now you'll blend in.
This guy looks like--
- Okay Afla, we need to come back with good
comebacks for this dude.
- You don't even know.

- You look more like a turtle than him.
- No he don't, no I don't. - Yeah you do.

sick people so they kept them in these rooms here.
If you were sick with Yellow Fever or Chicken Pox,
or whatever disease you had.
You were kept in these rooms, with blue,
the blue doors there.
And I believe they have rooms at the top.

I just wander off all the time and then I get lost.
Is he behind the tree?
Oh there he is.
There you are.
Adam?
I think that hospitals need to do a better job
of not feeling like a hospital.
You know, I hate going to hospitals.
It just reminds me of, oh my gosh I'm sick,
this person's sick, I need them to do a better job
of you know, painting the rooms really nice,

Afla got squid, Benji got fried squid.

Rihanna is my mini-me.

Okay so we're grabbing some souvenirs for the kids
and myself, did you get anything?
- [Adam] I bought, a (mumbles) soccer jersey.
- So Adam got a soccer jersey. Been into jerseys lately so.
- I got this Hakuna Matata dress,
it's so pretty I love it.
And Samia, what does Samia get?
And then Samia got this cute little outfit,
it has beads on it.
It's so cute.
Love it, look at how cute that is with the beads.
And a little skirt, Samia's gonna love it
because she loves dresses and skirts.
Yeah and then Zayn got this jersey.

they didn't have anythings smaller.
- So make sure if you come to Zanzibar, look for Asha.
- Asha, Asha number eight okay?
Yes she's so nice, and her store, they have
a beautiful artwork, pictures,
nice Zanzibar, Tanzania clothing, African clothing.
A lot of souvenirs, so if you're into that stuff, like us
then, come to her store.
Yay, thank you!
Asante.
- Asante sana.
(electronic african music)
- Okay y'all so I bought this African print top,
I don't know what it's called.
What is this called again?
This is a dashiki, okay Adam said dashiki,
what is this called?
This.
- Ah.
- What is this called?
- Kitenge. - Kitenge?
- Kitenge.
- Kitenge, so yeah, so I got this.
- I like his better.
- Oh you like his better?
But I didn't ask you that,
I asked do you like my shirt, not Adam's shirt.
And the way he clowns you, you should be on my side.
Don't compliment this dude, what's wrong with you.
- I'm not complimenting him, this.
- [Latoya] You're complimenting his swag okay?
- He's looking like a cat with--
- [Latoya] This guys wants to meet up with us two hours ago
to go souvenir shopping.
I know.
- You came to Africa to sleep?
- What time you guys are going?
Tomorrow?
- Morning.
- Hey, hey.
Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna.
(laughs)
I know she can dance, I know she,
she's acting shy.
I know she dances like, at home.
- [Adam's Mom] Ay Rihanna.
- Hey look at Weston, go Weston.
Dance. (laughs)
Look at Weston (mumbles)
(drums)
- Good Morning.
Why am I sounding like Judy?
(laughs)
Oh my gosh, I'm like, good morning!
Okay good morning Huntees and Hunkles.
So we're at the airport.
Adam say good morning.
- Hey, what's up guys?
About to head down to Kilimanjaro.
- So we're heading out to Arusha,
and we had a connecting flight in Darsalam.
And then we're checking into the airport
and Ravina was like, Latoya!
Hey Ravina!
- I don't know where the cape went right now,
(laughing)
but she was like does someone want a direct flight?
And I said, absolutely.
- Yeah she hooked us up with a direct flight.
(laughs)
- Yeah he (mumbles) just said go, let's go.
And the direct flight, we're the only
passengers on the flight.
That's amazing.
- Just the four of you.
- Yeah so it's like a private experience that we get,
all the four of us.
Yay, so thank you so much Ravina.
Oh my gosh I just crashed into the door.
Always, I'm a moment killer.
Okay, so right now we're going on the shuttle
to our plane, our private plane.
Our private plane, after you.
Okay you're gonna take my, okay look
see our plane is that blue and white one right there.
This is the plane everyone.
This is it.
Okay let's go.
Mambo!
- You can sit anywhere, this is a free sitting.
You guys are the only people on board, it's all yours.
- [Latoya] Thank you so much.
Asante sana, okay.
- In case we have emergency landing,
I'll be sure to open the door for you,
so these are the exit doors.
- [Latoya] Oh you're good at that, these are the exit doors
(laughing)
Wow we've never experienced anything like this before,
nobody on the plane.
Wow.
Shout outs to the
airline, As Salaam airways.
Are you excited for Arusha?
- Yeah, I'm excited to connect with the community there
see some kids, it's an awful big impact.

- [Latoya] Dang.
Ya'll he's going quite fast.

- That'd be the first place I'd vomit.
(laughs)
- You're so dumb.
- I'm not lying, that'd be a great opportunity.
- Look at my foot.
- I'm not vomiting on your foot.
I'm vomiting right on your beef.
(laughs)
- That would be mean.
Oh my gosh.
I don't like turbulence.
You don't care?
You don't care that you feel the feeling like,
like you're gonna fall?
- As long as I'm alive, I'm good.

We're here.
Oh there's a nice breeze.
Thank you so much, asante sana.

Okay so we're at the Convoy of Hope headquarters.
- Yes we are.
- And shout outs to Judy and Benji for
inviting us on this trip.
- For those who don't recall, last December--
- Uh-huh for Dancember.
- Dancember, which is a charity event ran by
Judy and Benji, where they raise funds for Convoy of Hope,
which is another charity and they distribute that funds
to the various parts in the world in various communities
that need help the most.
- Right, feeding the children, women empowerment,
entrepreneurship, you know just--
- Agriculture.
- Uh-huh agriculture.
- So when they found out that I was from Tanzania
and that they were coming here,
they reached out and again that's why we're here.
We're about to go see a site where they serve.
- One of the tribes which is called Masai.
And we're gonna see the children
and just spend time with them,
and just live in the moment with them.
- We're so excited to share this experience with you all.
Especially in my homeland.

- [Latoya] Mambo, eh!
Okay we brought them some little freezies.
They're so cute, they just run off.
They're so cute.
And we're about to hop back in the car
and continue our journey to Masai tribe.
- Yes.
- Oh my gosh that was so nice.
I think you missed out on a freezy.
(Adam speaking african language)
- [Latoya] I love how they run off after.
It's so sweet.
(xylophone music)
- [Latoya] We're here.
Hi, oh my gosh.
Oh wow.
Mambo.
Hello, hi, hi.
Hi, hi, hi, hi.
Mambo, hi.
How are you?
Aww they're so sweet.
Thank you so much.
Asante sana.
Oh wow, this is amazing.
Mambo, mambo.
Hi, hello.
They are so polite, they are so good.
They are so disciplined too.
Oh they have a disciplinary teacher.
So if anyone ever gets in trouble, she handles it.
Mambo.
Yeah so, this is where the money we donate,
go to these tribes here, and this is the school
and they get lunch every single day.
And I'm seeing it first-hand.
So this is the kitchen I believe.
Where they distribute the lunch for the kids.
So today they're having beans and it's hot.
- The best thing about this stove,
it's really efficient, it doesn't look like much
but it's really really efficient
so the use of firewood is much lower.
- [Latoya] They're lining up for their food.
I know, they're so cute.
Karibu.
Karibu.
(laughs) They're so shy.
Karibu.
So the kids now are just eating their food.
I love this one with the little boots.
Little boots.
Okay so this is Convoy of Hope,
this is what they do, they're here feeding children.
For some of these kids, this is their only meal of the day.
Every year we participate in Dancember,
and the money goes to Convoy of Hope
that feeds children all over the world.
It's amazing.

The water tank just came in today
so they're filling up the water, their water tank here.
Her name is Galelah, hi.
She's beautiful, just gorgeous.
And there's Supine with his red boots.
I think that Zayn and Supine would get along just great.
Supine looks like he has a lot of fun out here
with his red boots.
And look at his smile, he's so sweet.
So sweet.
You're so beautiful.
They don't speak Swahili out here,
they speak the tribal language I think called Masai.
So they don't understand Swahili.
The younger kids.
But the older kids they do, they speak the tribal language,
the Masai language, and also Swahili.
(motor drowns out dialogue)
Let me take off my glasses.
I'm having so much fun spending time with you.
I know you don't understand what I'm saying,
but hopefully one day I can learn your language.
And we can have a conversation.
I'm learning Swahili you guys, I'm learning Swahili.
Oh I love this, look at this.
That's very nice.
That's nice.
This is my buddy, he's so cute.
So we just fed the kids
and I gave them some water and so
they're nice and full.
So now we're gonna head on over to the older kids
and hang out with them.
Hi baby.
I love your jacket with your rainbows.
You're so cute.
Okay so right now we're gonna give out some tropical juice
and freezies to the kids.
I'm so excited.
And I hope they're excited.
There are the freezies.
There you go, there you go.
There you go.
You are gonna love this freezy, here let me show you.
Here put it in your mouth.
Yummy, oh and you get the blue one.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I know you love that one.
Right now we're just giving the kids freezies
and juice boxes, they just had lunch.
And they had water, and now we're giving them
a sugar high, a sugar rush.
(laughs)
Here you are, ooh it's so cold.
That freezy will be quite refreshing.
Refreshing right?
Say hi.
Oh this is amazing.
There's life everywhere you guys.
there's life everywhere.
My camera just died on me.
But luckily I had an extra battery
so as I was saying I don't wanna break down
in front of any of these kids
and make them feel like their situation
is bad, but...
It's very emotional to know that, woo I'm getting emotional.
It's emotional to know that some of these kids,
some of them go to sleep hungry.
And a lot of them, lunch time is their only meal of the day.
I wanna do so much, but it's like, where do you start?
How do you start?
How we started is just giving.
But it's a different experience when you're actually
in it, in the situation.
It's one thing to give money, but when you are experiencing
where your money goes first hand,
it's a very humbling experience.
Hi, say what's up.
- Yeah.
- Say what up.
- Yeah.
- Hey, they're so cute.
Is it good?
Is that good?
Is it good, you like it?
Okay good (laughs)
They're like, uh, what do I do here exactly.
Oh my gosh, oh there's my dude.
Hey Supine.
But one thing that I'm happy about,
is all these kids just look so happy.
They're full of life, they're full of energy
they're full of love, they're full of smiles.
I love it, oh my god, here I am
about to cry again, I'm just so happy.
So my name--
So my name is Latoya.
Your name?
Elizabeth, Elizabeth.
You?
Bayima.
Okay what's your name?
Nayema.
And you?
What's her name?
Nayosu?
Dio?
Eh, your name?
Oh nice to meet all of you.
So Sayiidi was telling me that some of these kids
don't eat for two days sometimes.
And their only meal is here at school.
We're working on it.
We're going to make their lives better.
(singing in african language)
(clapping and chanting)
(hip hop music)
(music continues)
