Chapman to all stations. Recon environment.

Cole, what's wrong with you? How you even got an appetite right now?

Eating's for the living.

We just got taken down by a monkey the size of a building!

Yeah.

That was an unconventional encounter.

Is that really all your brain telling itself right now?

There's no tactical precedence. We did the best we could in the situation.

Griffin Co.!

Thank God you guys are okay.

- Good to see you, sir. - We're all right.

- How many left? - Seven survivors.

Seven confirmed KIA. Galleta, Saraf, and Hodges.

Slivko and the rest are unknown.

Where's Randa?

- How you doing? - I'm fine. Thank you.

Good. Glad to hear it. I was worried about you.

You are going to tell me everything I don't know...

...or I'm gonna blow your head off.

Monsters exist.

No shit.

Nobody believed me.

Yesterday, I was a crackpot.

- But today... - So this was never about geology.

You dropped those charges to flush something out.

- Who are you? - You heard of the USS Lawton?

Neither did the public.

Out of a thousand young men on that ship, I was the only survivor.

They told my family she was sunk in battle, but I know what I saw.

It had no conscience.

No reasoning, just destroy.

I spent the last 30 years trying to prove the truth of what I learned that day.

This planet doesn't belong to us.

Ancient species owned this earth long before mankind.

And if we keep our heads buried in the sand, they will take it back.

My agency is known as Monarch.

We specialize in the hunt for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms.

You knew that thing was out here?

I'm sorry for your men, Colonel, I truly am.

Get us home, with proof.

So we can send the cavalry.

I am the cavalry.

It's called the Hollow Earth theory. Randa hired me...

...because I wrote a paper substantiating what most people think is a crackpot idea.

That there are these massive underground spaces isolated from the surface world.

Passageways. Randa believed this island may be one of those.

An emergence point for whatever lives below.

Ancient species like what we just saw.

I thought he was out of his mind.

This is Slivko. Do you read? Anybody out there?

We're headed north to the exfil location. Everyone here seems way too calm right now.

- Do you copy? Anybody? - We're out of range, Slivko.

Oh, shit.

Save it for when we get closer to the group.

Nobody move.

Easy.

- Slivko. - What?

Put it down.

Jeep Wrangler Strike Force Zebra Half Doors (2007-2017 JK 4-Door) Review & Install - Duration: 5:03.

These are for those of you looking for a half door on your JK so that you have better visibility

when you're on a trail or just more of an open feeling while you're driving down the

road without having to purchase a steel half door.

Today we're gonna talk through the installation of these doors, which is a very simple one

out of three wrench install.

The first time you install these, putting the mirrors in place might take you a little

bit longer than every time after that.

But from there, it's really just a matter of popping the doors on and off very simply

just like you would a factory door, and we'll talk more about that installation in just

a second.

The benefit to something like this over a steel door is one, it's going be significantly

lighter than a steel door.

Two, it has built-in storage on the inside of the door, which is a really nice feature.

And three, this is an impact resistant plastic, so if you are doing some hardcore wheeling

and getting some off-camber situations, you might catch a rock to the door, this may get

a little bit of damage on it, but you're not going to dent and break a much more expensive

and painted metal door.

So that's where these really fall into place, in my opinion.

Now these are going to be more expensive than a tube door, less expensive than the factory

steel doors, they fall right in the middle there.

But again, they do have some features that make them worth the money if you have the

budget for them.

As far as construction goes, like I said before, these are a lightweight molded thermoplastic

material that has been UV treated, so these aren't going to fade in the sun over time,

they're gonna stay nice and black.

These have an OEM style hinge, which makes the install very simple, they're just gonna

drop right into the hinge that's on the top of your Jeep already.

Of course, they heavy built-in latching mechanism that's also lockable and you might be saying,

"Why do I need a lock?

These half doors don't have uppers, you're gonna be able to very easily reach or even

climb over top if you really wanted to get in my jeep."

Well, the lock is really to keep the door on the Jeep.

It's something that is lightweight, it's very easy to just open the door and lift them off

even if you were to attach the nuts on the door hinges, those can be very easily removed.

So the lock makes it much more difficult for someone to walk away with your doors.

So that's the construction itself.

These also have some weatherstripping on the inside of them which make them seal up very

nice and tight, and you're not going get any whistling from wind, you're not going to get

any water in between the door and the tub, they're gonna seal very well.

And like I said before, on the inside of this door, you do have a good bit of storage, which

is something you're not going to get with a factory door.

Now these are going be less expensive than steel, but they're also a very expensive door

and there are a couple areas in the mold where I'd like to see a little bit more fit and

finish.

Now this is really just around the latching mechanism here, it's not something you're

gonna see when the door is closed, but for my money, I'd like to see every detail taken

care of, and that's one area where these ones lack just a little bit.

But again, this is a unique piece.

It's still I think a pretty fair price for all of the quality and the features that you're

getting, just one area I wanted to point out.

So to get these installed, you are gonna have to remove your factory doors first, and that

process is pretty much just unplugging the wiring harness to the door, removing the limiting

strap, and then removing the retention nuts if you still have a them in place before lifting

the door off of the hinges.

Now when you have that limiting strap removed, be very careful up front, that door can hyper-extend,

and if it does, the mirror will [inaudible 00:03:20], that's a very common dimple for

a lot of JKs that has, so be very careful.

The second you release that limiting strap, make sure you keep a hand on the door, don't

let it swing all the way open.

Once you have your door removed, you can remove your factory mirror, go ahead and install

it on your new half door, set the half doors on the factory hinges, attach the limiting

strap that they come with, again, same issue comes into play there, so use that limiting

strap right away.

If you wanna put the factory retention nuts back on these hinges, you can do that.

If you're gonna be switching doors back and forth a lot, you don't need to.

And then you just close the door, get in the Jeep and go.

Very simple install.

It's just like taking your factory doors on and off, which again is very, very easy.

So these are gonna run you right around $700 for a pair, $1,400 if you have a four-door

JK and you're looking for a full set.

So these are certainly not an inexpensive option.

If you're looking for something less expensive, you can get a two-door or a two-door with

a door skin on it, which is gonna give you a similar feel, though it's not exactly the

same, but be a lot less expensive.

This is going to be for those of you that aren't looking to spend the money on a steel

door that want an impact resistant plastic door lightweight that has storage built into

it and has the budget for these.

Again these aren't gonna be for everyone because they are a little bit expensive, but I think

they do have some nice features that make them worth the cost.

So that's my review of the Strike Force Zebra Half Doors, fitting all 2007 enough JKs, that

you can find here at extremeterrain.com.

The Detailed System Of Runway Design - Duration: 4:48.

Airports are places where lots of pieces of engineering come together.

Different focuses are needed to design terminals, landside accessibility, equipment, airside

logistics and the topic of this video: runways.

As an example for runway design, I will use the newest runway of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol:

the Polderbaan.

A crucial first step in finding the optimal spot to build a new runway is estimating the

needed dimensions: the width and mainly, the length of the runway.

Assuming world's largest operating passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, needs to be able

to take off and land on the runway, we can safely assume that it needs to be at most

15,000 ft. long and 300 ft. wide, plus the needed space for taxiways of course.

These numbers are a function of many different variables including wind speed and direction,

altitude, local temperature and the already mentioned aircraft type.

Now, a spatial analysis of the airport needs to be made.

Considering that aircrafts need to taxi between runway and terminal before and after flight,

creating a short route between the two would be preferable, since that will decrease travel

time and emissions of CO2 and NOx and increase passenger experience.

Of course, a runway intersecting another runway can't be used optimally so that should be avoided if possible.

And the same holds for runways build to close to one another.

Obstacles near the airport like highways, mountains (which we don't have in Holland)

and entire cities are something important to evaluate as well.

Not only are cities avoided for collision purposes, also reduction of noise and air

pollution are reasons to diverge from towns.

Considering Schiphol's layout, several options are possible.

Most, however, can be neglected because of towns, pieces of nature and highways nearby.

Also the fact that strong winds from the South-West are not uncommon in the Netherlands, rule

out several options since operation with crosswind is not advisable.

Schiphol decided that the Polderbaan should constructed over here, with long, long taxi times as a result.

Once the location has been determined, internal design of the runway is the next thing to consider.

Runways - usually made from asphalt or concrete - can be optimized by creating a runway gradient

(not really possible in this flat country) or a porous pavement.

The width of the runway usually has three sections: the runway itself, the shoulders

and a safety area.

The first two are usually paved while the latter is normally, well.. just grass.

All three are direct functions of the airplanes expected to use the runway.

The dimensions I put on screen are the minima for airplanes in design group VI, which covers the needs of the A380.

To assist pilots, two features are added to runways: lightings and markings.

You will always see a set of green lights indicating the start of the runway and a set

of red lights marking the end.

Both are accompanied with flashing lights on either side of them and threshold markings

just before or just after the lighting.

Runway edge lights are added to mark the side of the runway, these are colored white at

the start of the runway but turn into yellow when less than 2000 ft. and halve of the runway is left.

The last 500 ft. of the runway will be indicated by red lights.

A similar coloring system is used for the centerline lights, which - together with the

centerline markings - have the function to help pilots align the plane with the runway.

This - together with finding the optimal landing spot – is the key part for an arriving aircraft.

This optimal landing spot is indicated with four longitudinal lines on both sides of the

centerline, with a similar marking placed 500 ft. before and 500 ft. after that.

The final remarkable marking you'll see at runways are the big numbers at the start.

These indicate the direction of the runway.

36 means heading north, 09 indicates east, 18 means heading south and 27 equals west.

A simple, but clear system for naming runways.

But it is also ambiguous when multiple runways are parallel with each other, as it is - for

example - in the case of Schiphol.

This can be solved by adding an 'L' for 'left', a 'C' for 'center' or

an 'R' for 'right' to these numbers.

And of course, if a runway is designed to be used in two directions, lightings and markings

need to be added for both directions.

The discussed lightings and markings are usually accompanied with other signs, equipment and

possibly even more lightings and markings.

Whether it be for the this new runway of Schiphol, or for any other airfield: lots of parameters

and considerations are involved in designing a runway.

[Adding subs? Put your name here]

Oh and by the way, did you know that Schiphol is actually pronounced as Schiphol in Dutch.

Yeah.. Dutch lessons by MrEngineeringGuy..
