Hello! How are you? Today I show you 3 easy and economical ideas to decorate your notebook covers.

In the first notebook I will place white cardstock on the front and back cover.

Remove the excess.

With two highlighter pens of different color trace small lines.

I'm using a pink and a blue pens.

I have this gold gel pen and I will put points in some of those lines.

You can use acrylic paint as well.

In the center, you can put a label with your information.

I want this notebook to write project ideas.

Sorry, I do not have pretty writing and I do not practice lettering.

To frame the word I put dots of golden gel pen around.

You can protect it with contact paper or layers of glue for decoupage.

I'll put scrapbook paper in the second notebook.

I do the same procedure for lining the covers as I did with the first notebook.

Using the golden gel pen again I will color the centers of some flowers.

I want this notebook to draw sketches and write measures of projects for youtube videos.

I frame the phrase "making magic" with the golden pen and it's ready.

The decoration of the notebooks is flat because they will be in constant use.

The third notebook already has cardstock on the covers.

I do not have watercolors so I will use this pink distress ink.

I'll just make circles and leave a few spiral brush strokes around those circles.

I put 4 dots in the center with pink gel pen to look like buttons.

This notebook will be like a planner to write down the daily to-do list.

If you want you can add elastic closure to your notebooks.

DIY SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO MAKE WHEN YOU'RE BORED ~ BACK TO SCHOOL 2017 | @karenkavett - Duration: 10:48.

Alright, double checking my hair, this is the second time I'm doing this, because

the first time, I had a giant piece of hair just sticking straight out of my head.

It was really bugging me.

Alright, hi guys, so who's ready to go back to school?

Or, who's not going back to school but loves back to school season because that's when

all the best stationery comes out?

Today I have five DIY school supplies for you and you guys seem to be obsessed with

the craft projects I come up with for when you're bored aka the ones that are easy

to do but take a little while to finish.

So if you're just finishing up summer break, this is a great way to fill those last couple

days while also getting prepared for the school year.

Alright, let's get started.

First up we're going to be turning a cheap notebook into this rainbow masterpiece of

gorgeousness.

Ok, maybe that's a lot to say about your own craft project, but I love how it came

out.

Grab some magazines, and I'd recommend home decor or lifestyle magazines, anything that

has a lot of bright colors.

You'll also want to cut out a triangle from a piece of cardstock to use as a pattern.

So open up your magazine and look for any large swatches of bright colors or textures.

Use a craft knife to cut roughly around the triangle.

Keep doing that until you have a large pile of different colors.

Now is the fun part - arranging your colors into rainbow order.

As you go and you decide which ones you actually want to use, use a pencil to trace your triangle

pattern and cut it out.

Once you have all of your triangles cut out, arrange your final design for your notebook

cover.

Then, use a gluestick to glue down each triangle.

Really be generous with your glue and make sure you're covering the entire thing so

you don't have any corners peeling up.

Is it just me, I just think it is so satisfying to watch the pile of triangles get transformed

into this beautiful rainbow gradient.

Once you've glued down all the triangles, carefully trim any that are hanging over the

edge.

And then if you want it to be really durable, you can always cover it with packing tape,

clear contact paper, or decoupage glue.

I think this turned out so cute and it would be such a fun afternoon project to do with

your friends or your siblings before you head back to school.

Next we're going to cover a textbook in what else but emojis.

I think this is adorable and you can use the same emojis I did, or pick your favorites.

I started by printing out several pages of emojis, and you can download these pages down

below.

I'll also link to the site where I found high-quality images of all the emojis, in

case you wanted to use any different ones.

After that, it's just a matter of cutting them out, one by one, leaving a white outline

around each one.

This is a great time to put on a podcast because it's gonna take a while.

Once you have all of your emojis cut out, grab your textbook, and I already covered

mine in plain white paper.

Use your glue stick to glue down each emoji, and you'll want to start with your least

favorites, since they'll end up the most covered up.

Keep on gluing them down until you've covered the entire book.

Then trim down any bits that are hanging over the edges.

And then, since you'll probably be pulling this book in and out of your backpack all

year long, make it really durable by covering it with clear packing tape.

I think this is so cute, and I'm sure everyone in your class who just covered their books

with boring paper bags is going to be so jealous because you're gonna have the coolest textbook

around.

Next, if you have a few leftover emojis from that project, you can turn them into key chains.

Begin by cutting down one of the emojis the same way we just did, but for the second one,

leave a little extra space all the way around it.

Then grab a piece of cardboard like a cereal box and glue your first emoji down onto it.

Carefully cut it out.

Then glue your second emoji onto the other side, and cut off the extra paper.

It might not be exactly centered, but just do your best to keep them lined up.

Now cut a piece of clear packing tape and tape it onto the front of the key chain.

Then cut notches into the tape so you'll be able to fold it over, overlapping the notches

as you go.

Once the entire edge is covered, put a second piece of tape over the back of the key chain

and trim off the excess.

Now the entire thing should be covered in tape.

To turn it into a key chain, poke a thumbtack through the top, and then use jewelry pliers

to add a jump ring.

Add more jump rings and a keychain, and you're done.

You can do this with any emojis, but if you've chosen one with a more unique shape than a

circle, you'll just want to print out the same emoji twice, but have one be mirror imaged.

Then follow all the same steps to make a second key chain.

I'm not going to lie, these aren't the most durable key chains in the world, but

since they're made out of cardboard and paper, they're really cheap to make, so

you can switch out your favorite emoji every week if it starts looking a little grungy.

Next I have a really easy craft hack for how to make a pencil case.

This isn't a totally original idea, I've seen lots other people do it, so you can head

over to Pinterest if you want even more design ideas for this project.

But basically, take a quart sized slider top Ziploc bag and trim it down to the size you

want.

Then, cover one side with strips of duct tape.

Flip it over and fold the extra tape around the edges.

And then cover the back with more tape.

Keeping on our emoji theme, I decided to make mine look like the heart envelope emoji.

To do this, cut a piece of silver tape and cut it down into four thin strips.

Add the two bottom strips first, making sure that they meet at the center.

And then add the two top strips to make it look like an envelope.

Then carefully trim the extra tape on the edges and in the center until it looks like

this.

To make the heart, lay down three pieces of pink tape and use a marker to draw half of

a heart.

Carefully cut that out and remove the extra tape.

Then fold over the heart and carefully cut the other side to get a perfectly symmetrical

shape.

Pick it up from your cutting mat and place it right in the center of the envelope.

And to finish it off, you can attach one of the emoji key chains we just made.

Just cut a piece of string and poke both ends through the jump ring.

Pull the ends through the loop so the string is attached to the jump ring.

Then very carefully poke each end of the string through the zip top closure on the bag and

then poke them down the other side.

Tie them in a double knot and cut off the extra string, and this is what it should look

like.

I think it is so cute and I love that this entire pencil case is made from supplies you

probably already have around your house.

And finally, this last one is more of a project for when you're bored in class rather than

when you're bored over the summer, but we're going to make doodle-ready lined paper for

your binder.

All you have to do is print out these patterns that I designed which I'll link down below,

or design your own.

Load up your printer with your lined paper and one by one, print out these designs on

the edge of the paper.

It's such a simple idea, but now you've got lined paper ready to doodle onto in between

taking notes, and I've actually found that doing something mindless like coloring in

triangles can actually help you concentrate better, especially if it's a subject that

you're not very interested in in the first place.

Haven't played with that for a while, so let's take a look and see what we've got, just kinda

around the moment, at the moment, on my radar, what's, you know, what vibe is going down.

Hang on.

Laziness!

Laziness.

Now this is fun for me.

Laziness is the Nine of Cups.

Okay?

And you know, most of the time, we think of laziness as bad.

This guy really isn't motivated to move at the moment.

He's got everything that he wants.

I mean, the implication here from the title of laziness, is that, oh well, he might just

be a little bit too content.

He has no motivation or no, nothing's spurring him on.

And while I'm really good with contentment, okay?

There is something to the idea that when things aren't quite the way we want, when things

aren't quite the way we would consider to be perfect, there's definitely value to be

found in those situations.

A lot of improvement comes from disruption.

Or discomfort.

If you say, "Okay, this isn't what I want," it really brings into clearer focus what you

do want!

Okay, what do I want?

What would I like changed?

So while we might go through life thinking that we want to live a nine of cups life,

we want everything to work out perfectly all the time, no disruptions, and you know, money

rolling in and, and, and, and admiration and everybody loves us and everybody does what

we want to do...while we might think that that is the kind of life that would be awesome,

there's value in every bit of it!

Every single bit of it.

Okay?

Whether, whether it's the lottery win or the car wreck.

It all is part of this grand performance art the we are calling life.

If you do your best to appreciate the value in everything, the beauty in everything, the

God force, the source, the, the, the, the Universal energy, the, the prana, the whatever-you,

however you wanna visualize it, okay, but the magical divinity that is in everything,

then you'll get the most out of it and your life will go better, too.

So that's my message for right now.

So I thought I'd do a quick money affirmation for ya.

Because who couldn't use more of that, man?

Hang on.

Let's see what we get.

Just, just...okay.

We are each responsible for the thoughts we think.

I've had the opportunity as a Tarot reader to work with folks from all socioeconomic

backgrounds.

And abundance or prosperity or feeling like you have enough?

Okay, that sense of security about money?

Is not tied to how much you have in the bank!

For some people, they can have what is lotto, you know, lotto kind of money to other people

and still feel very insecure.

It's a lot like weight.

Like, when you feel fat is about how you feel, not what the scale says.

And when you feel rich or poor is about how you feel, not what the bank balance does.

It's very, very obvious to me.

So, you've got to acknowledge the ways that you are doing okay, that you're already doing

well.

Appreciate what you have.

And you also have to kind of shift your energy towards what it would feel like, to feel more

secure or prosperous with your income.

Because you can't get from desperate to secure.

That's not a direct path.

You can get from desperate to less desperate to more assured to, you know, eh, a little

less pessimistic to more, a little more optimistic, to hopeful to secure.

I mean, the path is like this.

You have control over the thoughts you think.

Exercise it!

It's really important also not to take score!

Don't start taking score as soon as you get out there.

'Cause that's when you get in trouble.

So that's your little money affirmation for right now.

In the week gone by, the Sensex and the Nifty scaled new highs and RBI predictably cut repo rates by 25 percentage points

RBI seemed to be concerned about inflation since oil has been on the boil. But I expect the oil prices to come down after August

While many experts feel that RBI may not cut interest rates but I do feel that they may still cut interest rates

Banking stocks have been getting hit. They have been in the overbought position. This is starting to get reflected as some of it gets rolled off

It was buy on the expectation and sell on the news. So, once the RBI announcement happened, people started selling the banking stocks

I stick to my earlier position. I believe August will be bad for stocks

The correction will be a great opportunity to buy stocks, especially banking stocks. In fact there would be a global rally of banking stocks.

In auto stocks, it has been premised that a lot of the impact of GST will be favourable for the consumer

The prices of auto stocks have raced ahead

While larger companies will benefit due to abolishing of state and local taxes like Octroi but many small suppliers will get hit when GST filing starts

Auto stock valuations are sky high now. One should wait for the correction before entering these stocks

R. Kelly Denies Reports of Cancelled Shows Following Alleged Sex Cult Scandal - Duration: 1:40.

For Complex News, I'm Hanuman Welch.

R. Kelly is shouting fake news following reports of canceled tour dates and low tickets sales

in the wake of his alleged sex cult scandal.

While on his way to perform in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, the 50-year-old singer recorded

a message for his fans, claiming none of his shows have been canceled, saying:

"I want everybody around the world to know, ain't no tours canceled, man All right,

despite what you hear, don't believe the hype.

I haven't canceled not one show.

All right, I'm ready to get it in tonight."

Interesting choice of words there at the end...

Last week, it was reported that Kelly's team had canceled four dates on his After

the Party Tour—one in Los Angeles, one in Dallas, and two in Louisiana.

Sources close to the artist claimed the LA stop was canceled due to a scheduling conflict,

but they refused to comment about the other three shows.

Other sources told TMZ the cancelations were due to poor ticket sales, because, you know,

alleged sex cult.

There were rumors Kelly would pull the plug on his tour in light of the allegations; however,

he later called the sex abuse claims "a bunch of crap" and told fans he had every

intention of continuing the tour.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Saturday's show has sold out.
