Hello nice to see you again and today we're going to take a look at the rather sexy
Edifier Luna E active speaker system. You see this is a two main speaker
system with one massive subwoofer. It's pretty heavy as well it's got some heft
to it, you can see in red this looks absolutely fantastic.
the little left and right speakers are really nicely styled and they remind me
of the Covenant guns from Halo.
When you first get this you'll know it's a
premium product as it comes really well packaged. Each of the speakers has its
own little bag and you take it out the bag and you're presented with this
lovely glossy red finish. So you get the two speakers and you get a box of bits,
in that box of bits you get the instruction manual, an optical cable, a
phono to aux adapter, an aux cable (which is very handy for using a laptop) and
then the cable that connects the two left and right speakers together.
There's also a little remote and a cleaning cloth included. There's wires to connect
the left and right speaker together and they're powered separately from the main
subwoofer; The subwoofer has its own power supply and connects to these
speakers, it's paired wirelessly, so you don't need to worry about running wires
between the two speakers and the main subwoofer. There isn't any sort of
Wi-Fi connection on this, there's no Spotify Connect, I'm going to be testing
this with the Audiocast, little Audiocast dongle, this allows this to become
basically a wireless speaker system, so if you're interested in this please hit
subscribe, this is going to be the next review I publish. Around the back of the
speaker is an aux in or optical in, so you've got a choice there, this also has
bluetooth on board for directly connecting to your phone or tablet or
laptop and music sounds really great out of these speakers
[MUSIC PLAYING]
So you've got no problem with music, it sounds fantastic, really good bass, fills
the room really nice and easily. These can also be used as a great set of
speakers for your laptop or TV. They've got a really nice clear stereo
separation and they add a real umph to proceedings when you're watching a film
such as Star Trek First Contact. It can be really difficult to demonstrate this
on a video because of course it depends on the speakers you've got, so first I'm
going to play this from the laptop speakers then again using the Edifier speakers
[Quiet sound FX]
[Loud sound FX]
So as you just heard these can add a real punch to your normal sound setup if
you're just listening to your laptop or tablet speakers or maybe even just your
normal TV speakers this will add a real depth, a real punch.
As you heard there that was the same volume recording on the microphone, the
laptop sounded very tinny and you probably had to strain hear it, whereas
this was really nice and clear and packed a nice THUMP to it when those
photon torpedoes hit the Borg ship. I do think these look fantastic, I think
for the price it's a shame Spotify Connect and other streaming services
aren't built into these, at least though, for a very low cost, you can add
something like this Audiocast dongle, and that will also allow these to be
part of a multi room sound system. But if you want to add a bit more power to your
TV or your laptop these are great for music, great for gaming great, for TV
great for movies, they look fantastic and I'll put a link in the description below.
Thanks for watching hope you have a short review useful don't forget to hit
the subscribe button and make sure to check out the Audiocast review because
this is a great little dongle if you've invested in speakers like this and they
haven't got Spotify connect or you want to make them part of a multi-room system.
Thanks for watching, I'll see you next time.
