BUS IN FRONT OF IT.

ONE STUDENT ON THE MIDDLE BUS

SAID SHE COULD SEE THE BUS WAS

GET TOO CLOSE TO THE ONE IN

FRONT.

THE STUDENTS WHO WERE OK WERE

TAKEN TO THE ST. JOHN COMMUNITY

CENTER WHERE SCHOOL BUSES FROM

THEIR HOME PARISH CAME TO PICK

THEM UP.

Jeep Wrangler Rock Krawler Full Drag Link Flip Kit (2007-2017 JK) Review - Duration: 7:39.

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review of the Rock Krawler Ultimate

Steering Upgrade Kit, fitting all 2007 and up JKs with three and a half inches of lift

or more.

Today we're gonna talk through the installation of this kit which is a two out of three wrench

install because it does require some drilling, and it is not easily reversible.

You're gonna wanna give yourself around two hours to get this installed, but we'll talk

more about the installation in just a second.

We're also gonna talk through some of the features and the construction of this kit.

This kit is for those of you who are running big tires on your Jeep and do some heavy wheeling

and want a steering linkage that can hold up to that.

This is not only going to be stronger in the linkage itself, but also in all of the joints.

And this comes with both your track bar, your drag link, and your track bar bracket to make

everything work together.

This is going to be a drag link lift kit, which will help to flatten out your drag link

angle a little bit giving you a bit more of that factory steering feel back.

And because this does come with your bracket, you're going to ensure that the drag link

and the track bar stay perfectly parallel, which is going to ensure that you're not going

to get any bump steer.

Now, this is going to be a lot stronger so that when you're on the rocks and you're actually

hitting something physically up against this linkage, it's gonna hold up better.

But as I said before, these joints are also a ton stronger.

So, when you have those big tires and they start pulling back and forth and wearing on

the joints, these instead of tie rods ends on your track bar are going to be spherical

joints.

You have a big beefy spherical joint here as well on your drag link, and those joints

are all going to hold up to the abuse of big tires and heavy wheeling a lot better than

that factory system would.

Now, this is going to be a kind of a pricey system, but when you think about the fact

that you're getting all three pieces that you need, they're all gonna work well in conjunction

with each other.

And they are so strong.

This is a system that is not going to fail you all of a sudden it becomes worth the cost

if you're somebody who does some heavy wheeling.

As I said before, this system is very, very strong and it comes with everything you need.

Here you have your new drag link which is a much heavier material than the factory drag

link was.

You are going to be using a factory-style tie rod and at the Pitman arm but you can

always go with an upgraded factory-style move or the like, which is going to be stronger

than that OEM tie rod end.

But other than that, everything else is going to be replaced.

Again, very strong, very beefy linkage itself.

You have an adjustable end here that's actually going to be going onto the steering knuckle

and you have a spherical joint at the steering knuckle and then your track bar, of course,

is going to be adjustable.

You have spherical ends on both ends of the track bar as well, they're gonna hold up a

lot better than that factory system would and you have your track bar bracket.

Now, the benefits to a flip drag link system, which is what this is, is it takes where the

drag link mounts on the steering knuckle from below the knuckle to above the knuckle.

And when you have three and a half inches of lift or even more, your drag link angle

can get very steep.

So, flipping it on top of the knuckle, it flattens out that angle a little bit.

Now, you can't just flatten out the angle of the drag link without also flattening out

the angle of your track bar, they need to be parallel to ensure you don't get any sort

of bump steer, and that's where this bracket comes in.

Now, sometimes adding a bracket can add some additional leverage which isn't necessarily

a good thing but this bracket is incredibly beefy.

This is gonna be very, very strong.

You get this installed on your Jeep, you're going to have a ton of strength, and you're

going to have a system that performs closer to stock or even better than stock, even with

three and a half inches of lift or more.

As I said before, this system is going to be more expensive than some of the other ones

on the market.

But you are getting so much strength here, you're getting a warranty that says Rock Krawler

will stand behind this, no matter what happens to it.

Not only are the links themselves gonna be very strong, but you're also getting greaseable

spherical joints that are gonna hold up really well.

The bracket that's really solid.

Everything you need to keep all of your linkage parallel where it needs to be.

This system is really complete, and this is a system that you can feel confident and comfortable

running on your Jeep, whether it's on the road or off the road.

To get this installed on your Jeep, again, is a two out of three wrench install because

there is some drilling involved in getting the system bolted up, and you're gonna wanna

give yourself around two hours, maybe even a little bit more.

The first step is to take some measurements off of your factory setup.

That's going to ensure that your steering wheel gets as close to center right off the

bat, and ensures that the toe of the front tires is going to be as close to the spec

you had it at, after you swap out your steering components.

So, you'll take some measurements end-to-end, tie rod end to tie rod end, and you'll go

ahead and adjust your drag link and your track bar to similar lengths as that factory system

was set up.

After that, you can go ahead and remove your factory track bar, remove your factory drag

link.

You're gonna do that by removing the cotter pins and the castle nuts.

And then either using a Pitman arm puller for the drag link you can also use that same

Pitman arm puller on the other tie rod ends.

It's also a good idea to strike the mounting point for that tie rod end perpendicular to

the threaded part of the tie rod end.

There's actually a flat spot on your steering knuckle that will help.

You're gonna wanna hit that.

That should pop that loose as well.

It's a lot easier than trying to pound on the threaded end of the tie rod end, which

can, of course, mushroom that end make it more difficult to get out of the hole or even

using a puller.

So, once you have those factory components removed, all you have to do is bolt up your

track bar bracket on the factory axle side of the track bar.

Now, go ahead and install your new track bar between the frame and your new bracket.

And then, finally, after installing your tie rod end whether it be an OEM or an OEM-style

tie rod end, on your drag link at the Pitman arm side, you'll go ahead and install the

Pitman arm into the Jeep.

Before you can bolt this side, which is actually the steering knuckle side of the drag link

down, you'll have to drill out that hole.

That hole from the factory is a taper-fit hole, you're gonna be installing a nice big

bolt that goes straight through that, so you do have to open up that hole and make it round.

And that is where most of the drilling of this install is going to come into play.

So, you're gonna drill out that hole and then you can get everything bolted up.

Now, at that point, you will wanna check your toe, whether you do it in the driveway or

you take the Jeep to an alignment shop and have them align it.

And you also want to check and make sure that your steering is nice and centered.

That's something you can adjust with the link of your drag link if it is a little bit off-center.

So, tools that you're gonna need to get this installed.

Probably a nice big mallet to get those taper-fit tie rod ends out of their seats and moving

so that you can get your new system installed.

Your traditional hand tools of course, and you're going to need a drill and a good set

of sharp drill bits.

So, if you're looking to upgrade the steering component on your JK to something that's going

to be a lot stronger, hold up a lot better, take a lot more abuse and give you a more

beneficial geometry a little closer back to factory when you have three and a half inches

of lift or more, I think this is going to be a really nice kit to look at.
