Hello and welcome to the SAP HANA Academy.

The topic of this video tutorial series is SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 02 - What's New? and in

this video we will discuss high availability and the SAP HANA cockpit.

Hi, I am Denys van Kempen.

We have seen that for the topic areas of platform and application lifecycle management, security,

database backup and recovery, to name a few, there have not been many radical changes.

It is a minor release, SPS 02: enhancements and improvements.

For high availability, this is more or less the same.

For example, should you have activated the new Active/Active (read enabled) system replication

operation mode in HANA 2.0, SPS 00 or 01, and attempted to query a row store table,

HANA would return you the message 'feature not enabled'.

Only column store tables, initially, supported read access on the secondary node.

This restriction has been lifted, all row store table types are now supported.

For the details, see note 2391079,

Access restrictions in Active/Active (read enabled) system setup.

Several restrictions have been lifted, as well, for the Dynamic Tiering option.

Most importantly, as of SPS 02, you can enable the system replication Active/Active (read

enabled) mode when Dynamic Tiering is active.

Previously, this was not possible.

It was either, or.

There is a note, 2447994, which has a document attached.

SAP HANA System Replication on Systems with Dynamic Tiering.

Here we find it on page 10.

But there are about 20 pages.

So if you intend to use dynamic tiering together with system replication, make sure to take note.

You might also want to check out note 2488106.

Also lists some additional notes for Dynamic Tiering with system replication.

Support for multi-tenant systems has been enhanced, as well.

You can now copy (or move) a tenant database both to and from a primary system that has

been configured for system replication.

The process has not changed.

It is documented in the SAP HANA Tenant Database Operations Guide.

If you are not familiar with the process, you might want to read up about it here.

There are quite a number of steps.

Most have to do with securing the network configuration as data must be replicated via

a secure SSL/TLS network connection, by default.

For training and test environments, you can disable this, however.

Makes it a bit easier to setup.

Some parts you can do in HANA cockpit.

For others, you will have to enter SQL.

Here we have a sample.

After you have setup security, you create your tenant with statement

CREATE DATABASE AS REPLICA OF database name AT hostname and port of the name server.

Next, you query the view M_DATABASE_REPLICAS on REPLICATION_STATUS.

Initially, this will be 'Initializing' but after some time the status will be 'active'.

Then, you can finalize replication with statement ALTER DATABASE database name FINALIZE REPLICA;

Now, as mentioned, tenant database copy is not new but the supported use cases have been

enhanced and we now also find the replication status 'tenantcopy' displayed in HANA cockpit.

Concerning HANA cockpit, this is not the only enhancement.

What's also new is the display of the Secondary Read Access in the header here of the System

Replication Overview page together with the Network Security Setting, here, default.

Network Security Settings has its own tab now and here we can view the configuration

of the different related parameters.

The section above, Network Speed Check, was introduced in the previous release but what's

new is that we now also have a direct link to this page on the Overview page.

Just a couple of improvements to the HANA cockpit for system replication.

Then, we also have a new alert, alert 104, 'Log shipping backlog for system replication secondary',

which will alert you when there are network issues and the primary has trouble

connecting to the secondary.

You really want the secondary to be in synch with the primary, so, a log shipping backlog

is a bad thing.

Should a takeover have to take place with a large backlog and the primary is no longer available,

data loss will occur, so you want to be alerted about this.

Finally, we have a new hook, a new HA/DR provider - high availability, disaster recovery -

as the API is fully named.

The Python script HADRDummy.py lists them all, as sample.

SPS 02 adds the srReadAccessInitialized() provider, which shows on the primary system

when the SQL ports are open on the secondary system;

similar to the header of the HANA cockpit System Replication Overview page we just discussed.

Well, that pretty much wraps it up.

A new hook, a new alert, UI enhancements in cockpit

and support enhancements for Dynamic Tiering and multi-tenant database container systems.

Ford Adrenaline Days - Duration: 8:11.

Hey everyone! We're here at the Circuit de l'Ouest parisien, in Dreux

For a "discovery day", let's call it like that

On the schedule today, passenger rides in

the Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350 R

I think I got that right... right?

And also, a RallyCross workshop with the Fiesta ST

and an off-road workshop with the Edge, Ranger and Kuga etc

I've personnally never did either off-road nor RallyCross

Hence why I'm quite impatient to see what it's all about

But the best part of the day will have to be

THIS

So, now I'm about to go off-roading in the KUGA

I've driven this car but to go to England Not exactly the same thing, is it?

Let's see how it behaves

So what you have to do is keep it steady on the accelerator

steady, steady, no matter what

... a bit more than that, I imagine

It's a bit disruptive because you have NO visibility

Yet, I kind of enjoy it, but it's a bit scary in a way because

... well, you lose every point of reference you might have

and that's the big big big downhill part

foot on the brake...

*aahhh*

*weird noises*

Now this one you take it broadly

I'm super careful actually

And the bipping sensors are ... they're not stressing me, far from it but ...

But I keep telling myself "shit shit shit, what have I done?"

" What have I just done ??"

** bip bip bip bip **

Yeah, like that

So I'm well aware I have a silly face throughout the whole thing

But I can assure you it's not as easy as it looks

When in movies you see the cars going uphill, downhill, everywhere, blablabla

... NOPE. It's not like that guys lol

This is NOT Hollywood

You have to carefully balance braking and gas

and this is even easier, it's not a manual gearbox

I believe I wasn't too bad. What did YOU think?

Instructor: "it was really good"

So now I'm looking forward to having a go in the Ford Ranger

Which is more adapted for this kind of thing

See that big hill over there?

Well you can't pass it with the Edge or the Kuga (safely, I assume)

But with the Ranger, you can

So now we're off to the RallyCross workshop with the Fiesta ST

It's probably going to be quite cool because

The coating changes throughout the track

Sometimes it's pure asphalt, sometimes it's like dirt

and water puddles, stuff like that (yes, RallyCross, basically)

Let's see what it's all about! I think I'll go easy, knowing myself

I've just finished my rides driving the Ford Fiesta ST

First time for me on the track WITH a manual gearbox

The car handles pretty well

Especially on that turn over there

When you're out of the small straight line

There's a little segment where you have to accelerate

And the car behaves really well, a lot of grip

I actually wasn't expecting that

Which is why I was reluctant to go for it

but you had to maintain a small acceleration... ...and off you went!

Now I'm off to try out the Ford Mustang

That one

Now I'm just done driving the Focus RS

Again, I was a bit weird because of the whole manual gearbox on track situation

When you're not used to it, you think of everything, braking points, trajectories

But it was allright

Even if I messed up on 2 or 3 occasions

So yeah. And now...

We're about to do the passenger rides

In the Mustang Shelby GT 350 R

Simply from the noise, it's a whole other story

With the most powerful V8 developped by Ford - 533 bhp, 581 torque -

As you know, this model will only go to middle-eastern and north-american markets

So sadly we won't see it in Europe ( in theory )

Which is why it's that much cooler to see it here today

That thing !!!

Just go out ...

from my passenger ride in the Shelby GT 350R

with a real pilot behind the wheel

I can tell you, it's not a drill

Going from the Mustang or the Focus RS (driven by yours truly )

to THIS ...

It's NOT the same :)

Especially sound-wise

It has a very american noise I feel

Very deep, very heavy ...

You can tell there's a lot under the hood

And it only wants to unleash the horsies

Actually, the track is probably too small for the car! Seriously !

3 Etapas por que pasamos como un expatriado (Subtitled / Altyazili) - Duration: 3:04.

Recently I have come across with this article online

It's about the stages you pass through as an expat

Let's see in which stage we are

And find out what awaits us

The stages of being an expat

Welcome to Good Times

I am Tarkan and in this channel I am making videos so that we can make the world a better place for all of us

And naturally we are beginning with ourselves

About 1,5 years ago

I moved to Barcelona

During this period, as an expat

Physically I have done a lot of things

I have spoken about those in other videos

But how about my emotions

And more dramatic version

But how about my emotions

Well, we are going to see right now

This article calls the first phase as Honeymoon

The original version is in English so...

... I am going to try to translate it

Do you ring this first period

You are so excited of your new experience

Open to try new things

And explore your host country

Naturally. Can we expect otherwise?

Everything is new

People, food, the culture

But let me begin with language

I am still struggling to learn

But Spanish people,

You guys are speaking so fast

A bit more slowly please

OK, we are moving on to phase 2

Rejection

Oh this is stressful

Even the title

I have gotten nothing to do with this

I am rejecting the rejection

You can miss your job

Job? No!

Your daily life. Mmmmmh...

Relationships ......

Your school. School?

You can feel homesick and idealize your life in your birth city

Feeling homesick...? yes...

Many times I was thinking why am I in Barcelona

What am I doing here far away from my friends

But now I feel better

I don't feel much homesick

But on the friends' part...???

Your motivation my decrease

Dear, I feel much more motivated in Barcelona

Or it could be that there were more things that distracted me in Istanbul

In any case, I am quite well-focused here

Be cool, it's all right, check!

And finally the third phase, Recovery

It is important to understand that as time goes by,

You are going to enjoy more of your environment

Friends and your new life

I totally agree

Yes I am not at this level, definitely

But currently my life is a mixture of feeling homesick and enjoying more of my new life

There is too much more on this list so I am going to leave a link in the description along with the others of my social media accounts

Well it's time to say goodbye

But before leave a comment below, on which stage are you?

And as usual, don't forget to subscribe to my channel

Until next time, peace for all

[Fact] 15 Fast Facts About Google - Duration: 4:20.

15 Fast Facts About Google.

Google really does in essence control the World Wide Web.

Jimmy Wales put it best "If it isn't on Google, it doesn't exist", and that's

exactly my opinion, when have you ever had a problem and not said "Google it?".

Google makes any homework, research or general collation of information a thousand times

easier than a trip to the library.

All this, whilst allowing you to look anywhere in the world at any point in time, and yet

you'll still always go straight to your street first.

Google often settles many arguments in my house and here we are going to look at some

mind-boggling facts that'll make you want to work, use and learn about Google even more!

1, In the early days of Google, it could process 30-50 pages per second, today it processes

millions of pages per second.

2, As of 2009, at their Mountain View headquarters, Google rent 200 goats to mow their lawns as

a low-carbon alternative from California Grazing.

3, The first of many Google Doodles was an out of office message in 1998, the doodle

was a man standing behind an O, the second in Goo

4, Klingon was added as a Google language option in 2002.

5, Google's headquarters feature a range of random items and decorations, including

Google colored phone boxes, a T-rex nicknamed Stan and adult-sized ball pits.

6, Oxford English Dictionaries and Merriam-Webster both in 2006 added the word 'Google',

it's defined as a "search for information about (someone or something) on the Internet

using the search engine Google".

7, Google's new employees are known as Nooglers, they are required to wear blue, yellow and

red hats at their first company-wide meeting.

8, Google offer all employees a free lunch, in an all-you-can eat buffet style system,

and snacks including cookies and salmon.

The first snack given to employees was Swedish Fish in 1999.

9, Google acquire a new company each week on average, obtaining YouTube over meetings

at Denny's in 2006 for $1.65 billion.

10, Google at first was stored on ten 4GB hard drives in a Lego casing for easy storage

expansion.

This is now on display at Stanford University.

The index now has over 100 million GB of data.

11, Google owns numerous big names including Android the mobile operating system, Waze

the GPS traffic system and Nest a smart home system.

12, Google bought Motorola in 2011 for $12.5 billion and selling it after its surprise

downturn for $2.5 billion.

13, If a Google employee dies, their spouse gets half of their salary for 10 years.

14, Originally the Google homepage was aligned to the right and was very sparse as the founders

didn't know HTML and wanted a simple interface.

15, Google, in 2013, had a blackout that took down all of its services for five minutes

causing a 40% drop in internet traffic across the world.

So there we have it, some facts about the internet juggernaut Google in all its glory.

Who doesn't want to work for Google, I mean free food and an army of goat mowers, does

a day at the office get any better?

Evgeny Morozov summarises it better than I ever could "A lot of the geeks in Silicon

Valley will tell you they no longer believe in the ability of policymakers in Washington

to accomplish anything.

They don't understand why people end up in politics; they would do much more good

for the world if they worked at Google or Facebook."

And who doesn't agree with that?

Google really is by far one of the biggest names across the planet, a powerhouse that

won't be going anywhere soon and are just going to gather even more momentum swallowing

up companies like YouTube, making searching for information easier and more efficient,

whilst giving you a great mail client and a million other side ventures.
