Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is one of the main tourist attractions in Thailand.
It is a reminder of the old days when rivers and canals served the purpose of today's roads.
Nowadays floating markets mainly play the role of tourist attractions.
The products sold at the market are locally supplied and always fresh.
Some examples include: mango, rambutan, pineapple, coconut and others.
If you want to taste some Thai food you will find plenty of vendors...
...who sell hot dishes (and desserts) that had been prepared from their floating kitchens.
You will also find many other items at the market apart from delicious food.
You can buy clothes, handicrafts, Thai silk, local spices and other souvenirs.
Damnoen Saduak is the largest and best known floating market in Thailand.
It is located around 100km from Bangkok and it takes about 90min. to get there.
The market is opened everyday from 06:30 to 11:00. Best time to visit is early in the morning.
If you're just passing through Bangkok then consider that the visit to the market will take at least half a day.
The market is worth a visit if you want to see how Thai people lived in the past.
