Do you want to migrate your Blogger blog to WordPress? Well keep watching, in this
video I'll walk you through how you can migrate your Blogger site to WordPress today.
There are a few things that we need to set up to get this process going
so I'll show you the things that we'll be doing. First we need to set up a
hosting account, second we need to install WordPress, and then we need to
migrate or import Blogger information from your Blogger site over to WordPress.
So if you're ready, let's get started. If you don't already have a hosting
account you'll want to get one set up so that we can start the installation of
WordPress to get this going. Since you're setting up your site for
the first time we usually recommend Bluehost it's a very inexpensive way to
get started on your own WordPress site and WPBeginner has worked with Bluehost
for several years so we've been able to get a discount for you. If you click on
the link below you can claim that offer. From here you just want to click the big
green button to get started now and during this process you can select your
plan. normally if you just have one web site then the basic is fine. I tend to
like setting up a lot of websites or a lot of domains so a lot of times I will
choose the plus area but the basic is fine as well. For you just want to select
the one that's best for you and then we'll move on. On this screen you'll want
to choose your new domain. If you already have a domain for the website then you
can put that in here otherwise you'll want to put in the
domain that you want to set up and the great thing about this discount is your
domain name comes free with this and from here you just want to fill out the
account information that'll be associated with this account.
Scrolling down real quick I want to just show you that by default the account
plan is for 36 months but you can change this here if you need to and you'll see
how much you're saving here. Also under the package extras we usually suggest
unchecking all of these to get started and then down here you'll see the total
discount and the amount due today. So go ahead and fill out all this information
to set up your hosting plan and then we'll move on. All right once you setup
the hosting account now we need to install WordPress. They make it really
easy, what you want to do is from your cPanel scroll down until you find
something called install WordPress. We'll click on that button from here you see
that we have an overall progress side up here it shows everything that we've done
so far and what still needs to happen. Then down here you want to pick the
domain that you want it to go under as well as where you want it installed. We
want to installed right where the domain is so let's click Next. Now it will go
through the process of installing WordPress for us and there's not much
that we have to do except just wait. Once it's completed installing you'll notice
the installation details here. You want to copy that information now we can go
to our website and log in. To do that open up a new tab, type in your website
address, and at the end type in wp-admin that will take you to the login area so
that you can enter your login information and login. Great now that
you've logged in you see that you have your dashboard area for WordPress. The
next thing we want to do is we want to go back to Blogger so that we can export
the information from our Blogger site. So log in to your Blogger site and go down
to your Settings area. From the Settings area let's click Other and we want to
backup our content. So we'll click backup content and yeah we want to save it to
our computer. You can name it whatever you want and it will be an XML file for
us to import into our WordPress site later. So let's click Save and you'll see
down here that it's saving to our computer. Great once that's done I can
close that out and we want to head back over to our dashboard in WordPress. So
I'm going to click on my dashboard for WordPress because we need to import what
we just exported from Blogger so on my side tabs I'm going down to my Tools
area click Import. There are a few different import features that we have
that we can import from other things. This is the one we want to import
so we need to install it first and once its installed we can run the importer.
Now it'll bring us to this screen so now we have to find where we just saved that.
You can also if you have it in your taskbar, you can left-click and drag it
up to choose the file and you see it's there or you can click Choose file and
go find the XML file click on that we see it's ready and we can upload file
and import the content. What thats, what that's going to do is now that we
imported it we need to decide do we want to create a new user for all of the
posts that were under us or from the drop-down select the user that we want.
I'm going to assign all of them to an existing user on this site and click
Submit. What this will do is you can see at the bottom is that it'll go through
and start the import process and once that's done you get a message saying
'All done. Have fun.' make sure to update the passwords and the roles of the users
if you've imported users. We didn't but if you do import users make sure you
update the password information. Now that we have that we can go to our posts. It's
imported all the posts that we've had from our Blogger area so you can scroll
through and make sure that you see all of the ones that you import. Now what
we need to do next is we need to set up the permalinks, that's what comes after
your url. Blogger has a different URL structure than what we normally have
with WordPress so we need to make sure that that matches as closely as possible
so that we don't, use, lose any rankings. To change that let's go over to our
settings area, click on Permalinks, and we want to, you see by default it'll do post
name that's the typical setting for WordPress but we want to go to custom structure
and we're going to remove that and I'm going to paste this in here. You
can see it in our blog post basically you want the Year, the month number, the
post name .HTML that's if you want to keep the structure
the same. So once we enter that we should be good to go and you can come
down here and click Save Changes. Now sometimes the structure still won't be
the same and what you can do is if you look at our link on our site you can
copy this bit of code into the functions.php for the WordPress theme and that
should get it close to the Blogger's URL structure and I'll show you how to do
that now. I'm going to highlight this bit of code that you see on our post, gonna
right click and copy. Minimize this, now we need to go back to our WordPress
dashboard we want to go to Appearance, let's head down to Editor and what we
need to do is we need to first we need to say that we understand that we're
making changes to the code and that could break things. WordPress has gotten
really good about saving you from yourself
so we'll be alright. We'll just click 'I understand' and what we need to do is we
need to click on the theme function that's what we're looking for,
scroll all the way down, get into a new line, and right click and we want to
paste that bit of code that we found on wpbeginner. We can update the file, once
we update that all we have to do is visit any of our posts on our website. So
I'm going to scroll down and I'm going to view this post. Great, so what it did
is it simply updated my information, it went it took a script it went and
updated all of the posts permalinks to match what I needed it to match for my
Blogger site so now this is good to go. We only needed to do that once so now we
need to go back into our Appearance area and remove that code we don't want that
in there anymore so we'll click edit and go to the Editor again, go to our theme's
function, scroll all the way down, and we need to make sure we only remove what
started on line 70 and remove that. Again update the
information, now that the permalinks structure is set we can keep going so
basically we have imported everything from our Blogger site into our WordPress
site which is awesome now we need to make sure that anybody who goes to our
old Blogger site will get redirected to our new website. That's very important
otherwise we're not getting any of the traffic to our new site. So to do that we
need to install a plugin and it's called 'Blogger to WordPress Redirector'
and that will help us set up all the redirects that we need to make sure that
anybody who goes to our old Blogger site will now come to our WordPress site. So
let's go to Plugins, Add New from here we are like I said looking for a Blogger to
WordPress Redirection and this is what we want so let's click install now. With
plugins once you install it you also want to make sure that you activate it
for your website and you see it here which is great and we need to go back
over to tools, go to 'Blogger to WordPress Redirection' to get some things set up.
You see some great notes here that we need to keep this activated for the
redirection to work so all we need to do is click start configuration for this to
start and they found the list of blog that we need to update so let's click
'Get Code' and what it's going to do is it's going to generate some code that we
can go back to our Blogger site to put in to make sure that people who come
there will be redirected properly to our new website. So I'm going to highlight
this area, click copy, and with this code we need to go back to our Blogger
dashboard area so I'm going to click back over here and from here we need to
update our theme so I'm gonna go to theme and we need to edit the HTML now
if you have custom code on here that you want to keep now would be a good time to
copy that and save it locally otherwise we're going to select all, delete all
that's there, and we're going to paste in what we got from our Blogger
to WordPress redirection plugin. So I'm going to right click put paste and you
see all of that information that it gave me. Perfect, now we want to make sure that
we click Save theme and we need to do one more thing for the mobile users so
let's go back to theme and you see you have live on blog and you also have
mobile so under here let's click on the gear box and just make sure that this is
showing 'Show desktop theme on mobile devices' and that means that they'll see
what the desktop people see so that's good. So let's click Save Changes and now
if I go click view blog and open it in a new window now you see that it just
redirected everything to my WordPress site which is perfect that's exactly
what we want. So now everything that was in Blogger is now on my site you can go
under blog and you can see all of the posts that I have done over the years on
Blogger and that's perfect. Now here's the caveat for this when you want to
move other content from Blogger to WordPress like your pages or your
widgets that's more difficult you'll actually have to go in and copy the
information for instance I'll right-click select all and I'll
right-click and copy, and then you'll have to go into your WordPress site, go
up to pages, click add new, and you'll need to add each one separately. Make
sure you add the title of the page like it was in your Blogger then click
publish and then you'll have that there. So you'll need to do that for all of the
pages that you have and then one final thing that you'll want to make sure that
you update is if anyone reads your Blogger website and has it in an RSS
feed you'll want to update that as well. So to do that let's go back to our
Blogger area, we'll go to settings, we'll scroll down, go to 'Other', and under post
feed redirect we need to add our own feed so make sure you add in all the
information before, add your URL, and do /feed that is the normal
WordPress RSS feed address. Put that in there and let's click
save settings. So now anybody who reads your Blogger blog they'll now be able to
read it in your WordPress site. So now you've done it
you have successfully migrated your Blogger site to WordPress without losing
any Google rankings. Sid you learn something from today's video? If so

Updated: Improvements to the GTM Copy Paste Extension - Duration: 9:54.
Hey there Julian here.
Back with another update for our GTM Copy Paste extension.
Now, I'm blown away by the feedback that I've gotten from you guys from this extension that
makes it easy to copy paste any kind of tags, triggers and variables over to another account.
And it's been really great.
I've been publishing this for a week now.
And I've already gotten loads of feedback, loads of praise as well.
So I'm really happy about this.
And people actually using it, it makes a difference.
So what do I want more?
Now I've already gotten some downloads.
We have over 500 downloads now.
We have we have some reviews here as well.
So shout out to Thomas, Visani, Rohed, Vladimir, Dilma and Chris who've given already a review.
Thanks for that.
And if you have any reviews, or a support message, then please let me know.
Now I've gotten lot of feedback as well to what I could do better in this extension.
And I'd love for you to keep that coming.
Right.
So what I have gathered from the feedback most of the time is it's pretty clunky that
I have to sign up to Chrome.
Now, why do I actually have to sign up to Chrome to use this application.
And for one, I'm using the chrome identity API to actually get access or do the auth
flow to your Google Tag Manager account.
So we can actually pull the data and then upload it to your account as well.
And this all happens through Chrome, which means that if you have your Chrome connected
to a Google account, I can get easier access to Google Tag Manager by asking for the auth
flow that is built right into Chrome.
Really, really handy.
But the downside is if you're not logged into Chrome, so that's really what you see up here,
it's sinking to my demo account right here.
If I'm not logged into Chrome, then I can't really be using the extension.
And therefore it makes it quite hard for people who are not familiar with this whole chrome
sinking thing.
And what you would even do this, why they can't use the Chrome extension.
And it's really just because of the identification or the authentication flow that the application
needs to go through.
Now, this also poses another problem, because if you have a Google Tag Manager account,
and you are on one Google Tag Manager account, you copy from here, and then you go over to
another Google Tag Manager account, then you wouldn't be able to actually upload this because
the wrong account is authenticated.
You would not be authenticated with this account that you actually logged into Chrome to, and
therefore, it makes it really hard to copy from one to another account.
And therefore I was sitting down and thinking, How can I solve this problem.
And I came up with a solution that actually doesn't involve this chrome identity API.
Although it's very convenient for me, as the creator of this extension, I actually opted
for a workaround that I come up with.
And this involves Firebase.
Now, Firebase is this
suite of different developer tools that you can pull into for app developers, but also
for web developers.
And now I'm using the authentication of Firebase actually to authenticate yourself with a Google
authentication and then actually give access to your Chrome,
not your Chrome, your Google Tag Manager authentication.
So you don't have to log into Chrome anymore.
So let's try this out.
If I click on the application, there is a little pop up here, it takes a little while
and notice, but then you can choose your account, you can put in your password.
And you can say which account it should actually have access to, it will ask you for all the
details that I'm actually I want to create and get the data from your container.
Now, this will not pop up for me because I'm already authenticated with this account.
But once this is done, we are ready to go into our application.
And then again, copy and paste as we see fit within that account.
Now, what happens if we have something in here, and we want to actually copy this over
to another account that we all should also have access to.
So for example, this account here, if I go over, and I want to put this into this test
account,
and I paste this, I get an error.
Why?
Because
I'm not authorized to actually upload into this account.
That's
obvious, because I have actually authenticated with another account.
So what I have implemented now with this new flow, this makes it also possible to actually
log out.
So if you click on the menu here, and you actually log out,
you will be logged out of the application.
Next time you click it again, this pop up will come up and you can authenticate with
the next account that you have available that you actually want to upload to.
So in this case, I will go with this account.
And now it will ask me for my auth flow because I haven't yet done this.
And I will allow
and you notice we didn't actually log out and then clear the clipboard, everything will
be staying in the clipboard as you had it before.
And then you can just paste it into this existing account that you now are authorized to.
And obviously you can copy and paste anything within that account.
If you want to do this again, with the next account, you would need to log out first,
and then login to the next account.
So I hope this helps you with some of the problems that some users had by trying to
copy between accounts.
Now this is possible, you just need to log in and log out, unfortunately, to do all this.
But I hope this helps you to make this work when you try to copy and paste from one account
to the next.
Alright, one other thing that you have already seen, you are now able to login and the reset
clipboard is up here now.
So if you want to empty this, you can do so as well.
Now a new feature that I've also built in his container upload.
So you might be aware that a lot of people put out their containers on their blogs or
on GitHub, and you find these JSON files.
These JSON files are normally generated by just going to the admin section and exporting
one or the other account.
We can just do this for now you get this JSON file, and you can export it and save it to
your computer.
And then you would need to go into the next account again, and import this.
Now, a lot of people actually, or people who publish their work, they put this out on GitHub,
or on their own block like Lunametrics, they have a SEO pack here.
And I thought, wouldn't it be nice if we could just skip this whole import flow of Google
Tag Manager.
So I would need to download this, then I need to go over to Google Tag Manager import this
again into the container by just uploading it into the GM copy paste extension.
Yes, you can do that now.
If you have the JSON file open, and it needs to be valid JSON, otherwise, it won't work
obviously.
You can now
mark this all, you can do this with control a or Command
A on Mac.
This didn't work.
Okay, now it's all marked.
And we can right click, and again, then say add to GTM Copy Paste.
And voila, we have an now our whole container in this
extension.
And we can go over to our account and then obviously paste this again into the account
that we want to implement this in.
I need to go to the workspace
actually, and paste this in.
So then all the tags, triggers, and variables that were in this container download will
be uploaded to our account.
If you wanted to do this with a file that you have already on your computer or if you
wanted to,
yeah, just open this JSON file in the browser, you can do so as well.
So just what we did, just then I will just
reset the clipboard here.
Let's press Command or you can also go to your browser settings file and just open the
file and then you choose the actual JSON file and it will open it up in your browser.
And you can do exactly the same mark this all right click and it doesn't work.
That is unfortunate.
I need to look into this.
Anyways, if you find this useful, then I'd love for you to try it out.
I will try to get some more box out.
And I love to hear your feedback.
Now, this is super important.
If you have anything that doesn't work for you, or you have a different workflow and
you want to make this work.
I love to hear from you to see if I can actually build this into the application and if it
makes sense to put us into into the application and make this work.
This is actually what made for you so I'd love to hear your feedback.
And if you're already using this, then why not give us a review or some support in terms
of some feedback.
Just write me under this video.
I read all the comments and answer them.
As always, my name is Julian.
Till next time.

Classical Musicians React: Lee Jin Ah 'Run (ft.Gray)' vs 'Yum Yum Yum Reboot (w/ TAK)' - Duration: 17:33.
Elizabeth: Yeah, there's a lot of different sounds all happening at once James: Yeah, It's so many layers
Elizabeth: to create the rhythm. James: It's like an onion.
*wheeze*
Jordon: Next, you'll be reacting to two songs by Lee Jin Ah,
who is an indie jazz solo artist that we reacted to a few times last season. Elizabeth: Oh!
Umu: First you'll be reacting to 'Run', Lee Jin Ah's 2018 comeback with hip-hop R&B artist Gray. The song is composed by Sam Ock and Lee Jin Ah,
and the arrangement is by Sam Ock, Lee Jin Ah, and Gray.
Seiji: Bass. Wow!
Isaac: Reverbs.
Kevin: There we go!
Oh, wow!
Elizabeth: Whoa! James: Wow!
Elizabeth: That is very interesting, as far as texture.
Collin: Huh! Jarod: There's like this apathy to his voice, and then you just seem him like...
Stephen: Man, I'm really loving like the rhythmic variety right here, the hits. Seiji: Yeah
Stephen: Also the textures he's getting, like, ay, this is really good.
Kevin: What? The song feels so fleeting, like it's,
like it feels so horizontal. There's nothing vertical about it. It just kind of moves.
Collin: Okay. And hit it.
Jarod: That was cool cinematography, in time with the music. I love stuff like that.
Elizabeth: This is such an interesting video, too. It's all about like,
minimalist colorblocking. James: It's very like art pop-y.
Elizabeth: Yes.
James: I love her voice.
Lindsey: Oh, my God.
It's just, it's like floating. Everything's floating. Fiona: Yeah, her voice is so high it's as if she's whispering all the time.
Lindsey: Yeah! Fiona: (mimicking whispery voice)
Stephen: I Like this cuz it's not like traditional K-pop, it's fresh and it's very creative. Seiji: Yeah
Fiona: I love how this thins out. Lindsey: It's like ethereal. Fiona: It sounds like you're underwater, if you think about it.
Lindsey: Yeah Fiona: Underwater Mario level. LIndsey: It's like there's no percussion.
Fiona: Submerge! Lindsey: And then it comes back in.
Elizabeth: They're singing the same pitches, but just like an octave apart. James: Yeah
Elizabeth: Which is so interesting. There's no like harmony with the voices.
James: Love the vocal percussion, too.
Jarod: Oh! What the....?
Wait, what?!
Oh, this is actually so sick!
Seiji: All right, here we go!
She can play!
Like she's actually playing it, too, damn. Live solo.
Jarod: Ohhh!
Like where did that come? What?!
Fiona: He just like,
Lindsey: Yeah, he just like, Both: It's okay! Fiona: I modulated, it's okay!
Lindsey: Oh my gosh, so many things are happening, but it's so light! Fiona: It sounds like, it's so forward-moving.
Lindsey: Yeah!
Jarod: Uhhh, uhh
Elizabeth: You hear the bass?
James: And it's so weird. Elizabeth: (singing)
I can't really tell what the harmonic
structure is.
Elizabeth: Yeah James: Like it seems predictable, but when I listen closely, there are like weird, chromatic, like
Elizabeth: Yeah James: little chords.
Elizabeth: All these verses; every time they add the verse back, there's more
synthesizer, more texture.
But like the bass is so low, and really growly, which is why it's hard to get a sense of the harmonic
structure. James: I like all these little chords.
Seiji: Man, she's dope.
Wow.
Stephen: Woo!
Henry: Oh!
The way his voice is mixed with the keyboard there was very tight.
Emiel: Yeah, it was like the same timbre, almost. Henry: That's really cool.
Stephen: Yeah! That was great!
Seiji: Oh, man, that was cool, yeah.
Stephen: Dude, seriously though, it's like....
I loved the grooves, I loved the melody. It wasn't like overdone or anything like that.
It wasn't flashy--didn't need to be, because it was very musical, and that just spoke for itself.
I loved the hits. I loved all the synth patches he used.
You know, like the orchestration, how the song peaked, and how it went down and how it peaked,
it wasn't like, oh, we're just loud now. It's like, it was a very gentle, subtle build that paid off. I loved it.
I'm gonna download this song when I'm done. Like, I really liked this. Seiji: Yeah, that was an amazing piece of music right there.
Holy cow, and just like soooo phat, like, those hits too, just not necessarily like, you know
like these really sporadic things, just like (sound effect).
So, I really dug it. Stephen: Yeah, dude. It's great. Seiji: Yeah, it's really good.
Umu: How was how was the keyboard solo?
Stephen: Oh, man! Seiji: It was pretty...
Stephen: It was sick! Seiji: It was pretty lit.
Stephen: Yeah! Some of the harmonies that she was doing?
Stephen: She did this one thing, she was repeating like a four note motive, and then just taking it through different keys.
Seiji: Yeah, the chromatic stuff, and holy cow. Stephen: Oh, yeah.
That was...oh!.
Seiji: Yeah, she was showing off a little bit. Stephen: Dude, I want to play with her. Seiji: Holy cow, yeah.
Emiel: The chorus bumped. Henry: Yeah. Emiel: Yeah, and some parts of how the vocals mixed in with the music was
interesting. I liked it. Henry: I thought the production was really good. I liked Gray's contribution
I feel like it didn't really take away or take over from Lee Jin Ah's stuff.
I thought that it wasn't too harmonically dense for the kind of vibe
it was going for. Sometimes that happens, which is cool that it didn't.
Jarod: F*ckin', the keyboard solo in the middle... Collin: Yeah, like that was
unexpected, to say the least. Jarod: Because they keep like this like, you know, like deadpan Like very, uh...
Collin: It's a weird aesthetic. Jarod: Yeah. Collin: Well, the apathy.
Jarod: Yeah, yeah. But in a way, kind of badass!
Collin: dude Jarod: Yeah
Collin: Yeah. I think that was actually rather artistic. I mean all the different textures, each have their own color scheme. It was good.
Jarod: And it's like, I feel like at that turning point that leads into that "should I run away, should I-"
we get this kind of like mushy, kind of, I think earlier I said like the ethereal vibe, because that's kind of
like, I don't know, it doesn't feel as kind of rooted as the other, because it was kind of wishy-washy, sound-wise.
So it's kind of like it leads to
the idea of just like this pondering, you know,
this not really knowing where to go kind of thing, and it was just--ah! It was so cool.
Kevin: It's a fascinating song. Like I really like it and appreciate it for what it is, but
something about it just, it just fleets. I mean the solo's great.
There's a subtle shock value to it, because it's so different from the stuff that I'm used to hearing in these react sessions.
Isaac: I feel like the song's like,
it continuously evolves, starting with very simplistic and very basic rhythms. So you have like the beats that just come in--one!
Duu! And then later it starts developing more.
It's like they have a little bit more, and then the way they speak their lyrics are a little bit faster, and then
even like the rhythms, like it continuously grows.
It's not too memorable in repetition, because it's a song that continuously evolves and continues to grow.
Kevin: Why did they suddenly make the harmonies more complex during this
Iasaac: Piano Kevin: keyboard solo? Usually in jazz,
the solos are built upon the chords of the original tune that they choose. So, by
suddenly changing up the chords, you give us a hint of a more interesting song that could have been, harmonically.
But then it kind of just goes back to like a more standard chord progression.
I think one of the reasons that I had trouble
appreciating the song as much was actually because of the music video, and because everything was, everybody was like
still, while the song was so mobile. There's this weird dissonance that honestly caused a sort of unpleasant feeling when listening to it.
Just this, like, something's not right.
Something is uneasy about this song. So I'd love to listen to this song in another context, like just the audio.
So, that's that's my final schpiel.
Fiona: That song was a collage.
There are so many sounds and like, different little instruments and voice lines going (singing) all throughout.
It made for a really complex, engaging experience. Good job!
Lindsey: The visuals were really neat going along with it too, because it was weird things,
but on very simple Fiona: familiar Lindsey: like backgrounds, kind of.
So it would be just like the girl peeking out of the curtains, and it would just be like a frame on there, and then
it would go somewhere else, and it was just like a hallway, but there was a girl dancing in it.
So, it was just like they took these simple things
and then kind of jazzed it up a little bit in their own way, and that's kind of what the music did too. It took
these things from other places and then put it all together and like just made a big
masterpiece.
Umu: Next we'll be reacting to a b-side song called 'Yum, Yum Yum', which is a reboot of her song
she used for the first round of competition
in K-pop Star, that she ended up winning second place in. This is not a lyric video, again,
it's just like, the audio of the track,
and it's featuring
TAK.This tells a story about a girl who falls into a dilemma as she is stuck in between like and love.
Elizabeth: Been there. James: Relatable. ELizabeth: Yep!
James: That's so funny. Okay. Well, I'm ready to get hit with the feels.
Isaac: Beep!
(making popping sounds) The bubbles.
Seiji: It's still dope.
Lindsey: It's very 8-bit sounding in the background. That's awesome.
Kevin: I like how she's exploring with lighter tambors.
Her songs are always so light, but this is really making it her playing field.
And then it goes back, of course.
Elizabeth: I've never heard somebody use that kind of like 8-bit unironically in a song.
Collin: Oh, man.
Seiji: It's like an Esperanza Spalding type of progression. Stephen: Yeah.
Stephen: Can we just talk about the bass, though? It's just so phat.
Seiji: Every time.
Oh, solo.
Kevin: Oh, I love that solo, with all of the syncopations.
Emiel: That was a nice little riff, right there. Henry: It was, yeah. A lil turn around Emiel: Should have expanded it more.
Emiel: Put on a different patch. Henry: I feel like, by the end of the song, you'll probably hear a little bit more riffing
James: This is very dreamy to me.
Elizabeth: I think that fits the idea that song was going for. James: Yeah
Both: (laughter)
Kevin: See?
Active, vibrant, accompaniment. It's so underrated. I guess not underrated. It's just
not preferred in the pop sphere.
Stephen: Her voice reminds me a lot of something I would hear in neo soul.
Kind of like very laid-back, kind of airy-breathy,
but still intense.
Seiji: I can see that. Yeah, I can see that.
Elizabeth: Do you hear that? It's almost like fake castanets that's doing like that- James: Yeah Elizabeth: the offbeats? James: Yeah
Henry: I like that they bring back the intro. Emiel: Yeah.
Henry: That's smart. You gotta bring that back.
Kevin: Oh, oh, it doesn't stop. Oh, it's a solo!
Isaac: (popping sounds)
Kevin: It's a solo that doesn't start like a solo. You think it's just a continuation of the Zelda thing.
Even her solos have so much variety. Like she knows what kind of solo she wants.
Jarod: Ooh! That was tasty! Collin:It's like- nice lil licks!
James: See, this is more harmonically interesting. I don't really know what's happ...oh!
Elizabeth: There's a lot of chromaticism. James: Yeah
And the percussion in the back is really helping the groove, too.
Oh, now it's a real piano. Or a real piano sound.
Collin: Woo! All right.
Kevin: See, by the end of the solo we're ready for the last chorus. You know, we're ready to hear that again.
It's great
Lindsey: Her talent just feels way beyond her years. Like, her voice is really high-pitched, which makes her sound younger,
but her vocal quality just sounds very mature.
Jarod: Oh, my god!
Kevin: I like the solo on the high notes. it makes, it doesn't make it sound cluttered. It actually stands out without being too loud.
Elizabeth: Yeah, there's a lot of different sounds all happening at once James: Yeah, it's so many layers.
Elizabeth: to create the rhythm. James: It's like an onion.
Fiona: Ahh! Lindsey: Woo hoo!
Fiona: I love that ending! Lindsey: Oh, my god, that was just like so classic, in such a fun way. Fiona: I love that ending.
Lindsey: Ah, that was great. Fiona: What a treat!
Seiji: That was really good, too. Stephan: It's just so nice to listen to her.
She'll have material in her songs that not only just you know, regular people who maybe aren't musicians will be able to appreciate and
understand and still be able to bob their heads and you know, like sing along with the melody,
but then she'll add things, like maybe it's a harmonic progression, or like certain rhythmic hits, or like her solo,
for example. Us, as music school students, we hear that, and we find that, it's ear candy,
you know. Seiji: This is how you take over the world with jazz. You make it Stephan: A pop song! Seiji: relatable
Seiji: and then gradually, the common person begins to dig jazz. Good job, her.
Isaac: So, this one was a lot of the use of the, I guess, is it 8-bit sound?
It's interesting how they use that as an ornamentation, and the way they play around with, I guess, the blue scale a little bit.
Part of that just kind of like drowned me out a little bit, was just like the Yum Yum Yum. Kevin: You don't like the Yum Yum Yum?
Isaac: No, I got like, I don't know, it kind of like puts me to sleep. Kevin: Her voice has a very
ASMR quality to it. Isaac: Yes, so maybe that's it. Kevin: Which is
good.
Kevin: I loved it. It's the best. Isaac: Was it delicious?
It's a delicious song. and it hits all the tasty
videogame-esque nerves, the chiptune nerves, the jazz nerves, and
just the nerve for very light music that you can chill to, but you can also just low-key bop to.
Bop to the top!
Collin: It's interesting, like there's that laziness to that, as was in 'Run'. Jarod: Yeah!
Jarod: Like there's just no hurry, and I love that.
Collin: Yeah, I personally liked the other one more. Jarod: Yeah
Collin: I thought was that a little wandering, you know, with like what I wanted. That was still good.
Like, I've never heard someone combine that in such a unique way.
Yeah, I think what what she does a really good job of doing, in the line,
it goes like high-low-high. There's like a line, but typically whatever we write music,
it's like we kind of stay in the same register, which we're right, but this, there's a lot of like back and forth,
but yet it's coherent.
Lindsey: I liked the first one better. I liked the variety in it. This did this didn't have as much variety.
I mean, I still really, really enjoyed it and I'm not saying that variety is what makes a song good per se, but I just liked what
they did with the other song. Fiona: I say I would like this song more. This song,
I kind of felt like I was on a journey the whole time, like if I closed my eyes, like everything was like fun colors.
I don't know. It was like cute and-
reminded me of like candy, and like some weird, wacky world that she's in.
James: Yeah, no, they're pretty similar.
They're both like pretty chill, like laid-back, relaxed songs. There were layering in both of them, too, like really interesting electronic samples.
I think the second one, not only the layering itself, like was utilized in a more catchy way,
but I think the samples themselves were actually a little more interesting in the second one.
Elizabeth: No, I like I liked the first one.
I liked the use of the electronics better in the first one.
I thought it was a little less cheesy, and I liked the addition of the male voice.
James: Yeah Elizabeth: Especially having those in octaves. I thought that was really cool.
Stephan: I liked them both. Seiji: Yeah Stephan: I liked
'Run' maybe a little bit more, but that's just me. But I think they're both great. Seiji: Yeah, they're both really good.
Stephen: They're also a really different songs. So I feel like it's weird to compare them, cuz they're both really creative and both appealing.
Seiji: Yeah. Stephen: Very attractive Seiji:I like them both, too. She's a great artist. All her art is great.

Wedding Escort Card Holder | Michaels - Duration: 3:58.
(gentle guitar strumming)
David Tutera - Escort & Place Card Displays
Michaels Weddings
- Well you're invited to someone's wedding
and I think what's really is great is when
the couple takes the time to truly think about
where every single guest is going to be seated
at the celebration.
But let's start with the escort cards
because this is really crafty and super fun
and I think very visual.
It starts with a purchase of this particular frame
which comes just like this from Michael's.
You have the gold frame, the jute, the clothes pins,
and we're gonna add a little special touch to it
as we get started.
So with a little bit white paint,
we're gonna begin to paint the outside
of the entire picture frame.
But look very closely
'cause we're not going to paint over
the accent pieces
because the gold will wind up being
an accent, not a primary.
So keep the inset, which is the beading, gold.
And the corner and the side appliques
as well gold.
So when this is completely finished,
now you can see how the gold just sorta pops out.
And by the way, you can do this any color
that you choose to with your paint.
And I even painted the little, teeny clothes pins white.
With these you're gonna hold up your place cards.
They're from my line.
The place cards that I sell come just like this.
Fold it in half.
Just cut it
into two cards.
Real simple.
Take a fine pen
and then write the name of the guest
and then the table number you've chosen to seat them at.
And then take your little place card and your clothes pin,
tie it to the ribbon.
And you'll notice what I've done is,
I removed the jute and I replaced it with
a beautiful antique gold ribbon from side to side.
That allows the clothes pin to be held onto the ribbon
with the escort card to be displayed.
The one last touch to this
which makes it really extra special.
Think about the flowers you have
either on the guest tables or in the bouquets.
We're gonna work with faux flowers.
And you're gonna take the faux flower and cut a stem off
so we have just a flat surface here.
And with your glue gun
you begin to decorate the outside of the picture frame.
With, I'm using now ranunculus and lilac.
And you can do as much as you want.
I've decided to just add it
in the corners of the frame, asymmetrical.
And when it's completed
with all your cards,
you can have one of these up with just certain cards on it,
or what I'd love to see is a series of frames
at different heights that show all of your guests on them.
And you alphabetize them.
And the last thing you can also do out of my line
is I have these wonderful place card holders.
And these can be used to either coordinate
to your place settings
so that guests now know exactly what table they're going to
and what seat they should be seated at.
A simple way to add a wonderful look to your wedding.

Ireland: 2 cities, 1 trip - Duration: 5:45.
(Irish traditional music)
- Ireland, one of those places that begs
to be explored again and again,
and since I've only been here once before I'm back and
this time I've brought along (glasses clinking)
my good friend and fellow travel videographer,
Courtney Scott, for her first time
to a land of Guinness and greenery.
We have three goals: discover the food revolution
that's finally giving Ireland its due,
see the sites and hang out with the locals,
all to gain a deeper understanding
of what makes Ireland so special.
(upbeat Irish music)
(upbeat music)
Belfast, one of my favorite up and coming cities
best known for its culture around food,
music and rich history.
Wanting to get a local's perspective and recommendations,
we signed up for the Black Taxi Tour.
- Hello, welcome to Belfast.
You're in the capital of Northern Ireland
and want to see a wee bit of the city this morning
and tell you about our culture and our history.
- [Gareth] Our guide Billy was born and raised
in Belfast and with his insight and guidance we saw
where the Titanic was constructed and the ingenuity it took
to build it, heard about the importance and history
of the city's Peace Wall, and were invited
to leave our own message, and explored the
up and coming Cathedral Quarter and,
as it often does with travel, one connection leads
to another and on Billy's recommendation,
we meet up with Caroline from Taste and Tour
for a crash course on Irish cuisine.
We started with one of my all-time favorite foods
and Kryptonite, cheese.
Ireland is known globally for their world-class cheese
and Kieran of Sawers is an expert on the topic.
- Wow. - Voila.
- Hello. - Come on.
- We've got everything here to make a perfect cheese.
You've got your blue and your white and your Guiness there.
These were made in Belfast.
This was made in Newtownards.
It just got voted the best Irish blue cheese, as well.
Here, try this chili jam.
See this? - That's jostling.
- Heat, one to 10, how hot?
- No? - It's a three.
That's a four?
A four? (Kieran chuckles)
- [Gareth] After hitting up a few more spots,
we finished up our tour at one
of the most famous pubs in Northern Ireland.
- Welcome to the Crown Bar.
This is an institution in Belfast.
You cannot come here and not see this place.
And, indeed, you can't come here and not have a drink in it.
So Michael is gonna teach you how to pour the perfect pint.
Although, did you know the true color of Guinness?
- No. - No.
- Ruby Red.
- Is it really? - Yeah.
It's not black at all.
- [Gareth] Look at that.
- Say cheers or we can say Sláinte.
- Cheers. (glasses clinking)
- Cheers, Sláinte. - Sláinte.
- [Gareth] With the warmest of welcomes in Belfast,
we packed up our car and set out on our own
to discover the surrounding terrain.
On our road trip out of the city,
I take Courtney to some of my favorite, iconic locations.
From the canopy trees of the Dark Hedges,
also known as the King's Road in the Game of Thrones,
to the suspended bridges of The Gobbins
and the legendary Giant's Causeway,
it's easy to see why this otherworldly landscape
attracts travelers the world over.
In the car and back on the road, it's time to head South
to the other Irish metropolis, Dublin.
(upbeat guitar music)
Dublin loves their visitors so much they started a program
called the City of a Thousand Welcomes,
where they arrange a meetup with an everyday local
to get tips on what to do do, where to go, and what to see.
Over a coffee and Guinness, our new friend Finola
helped us map out how to spend our days
in and around the city and her first
recommendation turned out to be my favorite.
(adventurous music)
(record scratching)
Sports are woven into the fabric
of Irish culture and heritage.
There are over 2200 Gaelic clubs on the island
and the Gaelic Games are a reflection
of the comradery and community of Irish people.
(upbeat Irish music)
We meet up with Experience Gaelic Games
to learn three sports: hurling, Irish football and handball.
Brian is an elite Irish hurler and offers
to show us this ancient Irish tradition.
- Don't have two hands together.
Have them well apart, nice and balanced.
You catch it like an apple off a tree,
pop it up, strike, wiggle, wiggle.
- Hurling is the oldest and fastest field game in the world.
Oh, this hurling is awesome!
It's so much harder than I thought!
(Brian shouts directions)
To say that we were out of our league was an understatement.
(guitar strumming)
After pushing our physical and mental limits
at the Gaelic Games, I wanted our last day
in Ireland to be a relaxing one.
Minutes outside of the bustling city
of Dublin is the small, sleepy fishing town of Howth.
We welcome the change of pace with a tour
around the harbor on a fishing boat
before meeting up with another new friend,
Declan McManus, the owner and chef of the famous
family-run King Sitric Restaurant.
- We're gonna make Dublin Lawyer.
It's called lawyer because the recipe
has butter, cream, and whiskey.
So it's fat, rich, and alcoholic
- Whoa, look at that beauty!
Oh my god! (pan hisses)
Those big chunks of lobster. - Woo!
- [Gareth] If I was a lobster, this is how I'd wanna go out.
This was the perfect way to finish a perfect trip.
Whether you're traveling alone or with a friend,
Ireland is a place where the locals
make you feel like family. (upbeat Irish music)
The food is constantly evolving and no matter
where you go, there's always something more to discover,
but don't take my word for it.
Go see for yourself.
(upbeat Irish music)

4L80E Tear Down & Common Problems - Duration: 9:29.
hi welcome to monster transmissions you're here in Curt's corner today we're
going to go over a 4l80e transmissions and the common problems or common failure
components that happen with these unit now this is a GM transmission that was
put in a lot of their heavy-duty applications primarily trucks one ton
three quarter two ton too big trucks all run this big heavy-duty 480 transmission
it's a four-speed automatic and then went from 1990 all the way up to 2008 so
it's a very strong durable unit but just like any transmission is the evolution
of the transmission to improve the performance and quality of the
drivetrain so we're gonna take apart a later model unit this happens to be a
2003 and we'll go through the changes to the unit as well as the common things
that go bad on a 4L80E and why and what we can do to correct those issues we're
now going to take off and remove the tail housing on this two-wheel drive
application collapse the metal seal the metal clad seal and it will come right
out of it out of the tail this is to seal the drive shaft on the two-wheel
drive application roll the transmission over to expose the pan most of these
have a 10 millimeter head some of the earlier units have a 13 millimeter head
so we remove the pan this is the pan gasket
some have neoprene like this cork we're gonna remove the filter this is actually
the linkage assembly here the tensioner for the linkage so we're gonna remove
that first I'm going to put all these bolts in the pan to keep it organized if
you'd like you could disassemble the valve body bolts and you can set the
entire Valarie with the bolts on it into the pan keeping it together
I'm gonna disconnect the harness
Remove -this oil feed tube this is the
pressure manifold switch that takes 8 millimeter bolts we're gonna remove that
and the value bodies release a lot of problems with the transmission on this
particularly that don't involve the valve body but now we're going to remove
the actual front servo it has a spring assembly here and this is actually
reverse servo we're going to remove this cover to expose the servo
we're now going to go ahead and remove the balance of the harness so simply just tap this
into the case and this is the actual manual linkage assembly here so we're
going to remove this assembly now what they have here it looks like a common
nail right here in the unit but it's unique stop for the linkage so it
doesn't slide out of the case so we're going to remove that and the nut to
remove the shaft so you can change the linkage seal as well as removing the
manual linkage system
linkage shaft out of the case and this is the linkage
assembly and then you'll notice that there's a series of check balls there's
steel check balls so just use a magnet to collect them all up we're going to
remove this and there's one in the back of the case that were in a move which
holds a center support in place so we're gonna remove both of those before we
remove the pump there is the lock-up seal on the input shaft you must remove
this seal now we're going to remove the assembly to free that up apply pressure
tap the case break up that gasket seal that it has to the case it could have
been there for many years you see how easy it is to remove the pump once that's removed
remove the snap ring here on the perimeter. We removed the snap ring
now we remove the fourth clutch the top backing plate which will expose the
clutches themselves you remove all the steals from the clutches that will
expose the the input shaft pull up the fourth clutch housing here's the
forward drum and they're going to see some of the problems with this drum here
as well as the discoloration you see how black this is got that's another sign of
overheating and now we're expose the direct drum reverse band and you can
simply just grab the intermediate clutch assembly
here's are the clutches the seals and now we can remove the center support and
the rare planetary assembly there's the whole rear planetary assembly one of the
issues that the for all ATS have number one is overheating in the early years
they have the coolant line fittings both fittings were in the front of the
transmission here in fact it still has the casting for the coolant line fitting
in the front and then later like 97-98 they moved the oil fitting from here the
return line from your trans cooler came back here towards the front of the
transmission case and he ran an oil feed tube from here back to the rare
planetary in 97-98 they changed that design eliminated that oil feed tube and
ran the cold line all the way back here to the back of the case the cold fluid
came back to the transfer returned right the planetary right through the center
support so relaxing was fed directly into the center support here
okay so ninety eight and up they changed and corrected that issue with the with
the planet Aries this section here from burning up to prevent that from
happening another issue that these transmissions
had was with the overdrive planetary they would also burn up but what would
happen is this shaft goes into this drum assembly here this shaft has two teflon
rings here and what would happen is it'll cut ring grooves inside here and
lose lubrication and that can tell you that's exactly what happened with this
drum set because there's deep ring grooves in this drum you can also tell
overheat it just by the coloration of this drum you can see how dark it is
here that means it was starving this planetary for oil and the other area
that these things have problems is when these drums that you see here on this
forward drum area that these areas right on the clutches for example in this drum
and what can happen is if it runs low on fluid and these clutches burn the other
thing that happens is these clutches can eventually try to slip pass this drum
and will cut grooves in this drum and when the drum goes to apply the clutch
pack it'll apply part of it half of it or want to play at all because these
will get hung up on the grooves of this drum and the other common issues with
these units is the rear planetary that even though they're lubricated you run
it low on oil just a few times that these planetaries will get hot and
wobble okay and then it ultimately will break one of the gears and then break
the the Sun gear and that's a common issue with Afro 80 transmission so
there's several issues with the pro 80 the main thing is overheating and
maintaining the service of it and the other issues are if it runs long fluid
and you fill it up damage may already be done be
because it starved cause the teflon rings not the seal calls the clutches of
prematurely burn and wear out and then not shift properly or shift at all but
if you have any further questions on the 480 transmission on how to purchase one
what application you have for them to work in feel free to give us a call here
at monster have one eight hundred seven oh eight zeros are eight seven and we'll
talk to you then

- At the risk of sounding like an overly proud parent,
I'm gonna tell you about my daughter Linnea,
who, over the last decade, has become strong and proud
just like the system in place for children
who are deaf and hard of hearing in Minnesota.
In 2006, Linnea was born with beautiful blue eyes,
just like her sisters and her dad.
And just like her oldest sister,
she was born with a hearing loss.
Of course, we didn't really know it at the time,
but Linnea didn't pass her newborn hearing screening.
Because of that, she went for further diagnostic testing
and we learned that she had a profound hearing loss
at 10 days of age.
While I didn't feel it at the time, Linnea was lucky.
Despite the fact that she had an older sister
with a hearing loss, I was sure Linnea could hear me.
Newborn hearing screening was the only reason
that Linnea received that further testing
and diagnosis that she needed and was identified so early.
And even though her older sister had a hearing loss
and I feel like I should have known
because we've been through this already once before,
I felt completely overwhelmed.
I had so many questions.
I wondered what's her future gonna be like?
I didn't really know any deaf or hard of hearing adults.
And I had so many questions, so I Googled it,
just like any parent would do.
One of the things that popped up in my Google search
was learning that it was likely that Linnea
would graduate from high school
with a third grade reading level.
I was shocked and terrified.
And what about school?
Would she have friends?
Would she be able to play sports?
And how would we communicate with her?
How would I tell her that I love her?
Would we need to learn sign language?
Would we learn cued speech,
would she have cochlear implants?
Or would she do all of it?
I wasn't really sure.
And what about that very practical question
about how am I gonna get my insurance,
to navigate insurance to be able to pay for hearing aids
if that's what we choose.
It just felt completely overwhelming.
Now just as Linnea was taking her first steps in 2007,
and wearing her adorable little hearing aids
behind her ears, a package of Early Hearing Detection
and Intervention legislation was passed.
Over the last 10 years that that legislation has been
in place, we've really built a strong system of supports
for families like mine of children
who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Now when Linnea was born, newborn hearing screening
was voluntary.
Hospitals could choose if they wanted
to provide a newborn hearing screening or not.
Imagine if I had taken Linnea, or
if Linnea was born in a hospital
where they didn't do a newborn hearing screening.
I really wonder when I would have
learned that she had a profound hearing loss.
Now, every hospital is required to screen all babies
for hearing loss before they leave the hospital,
unless the family chooses.
They also report the results of the screening test
to the Department of Health, where the Department of Health
connects with primary care providers and families
to help follow up on those screening results to insure
that families get the diagnostic testing that they need.
Now, around the time Linnea was born,
the average age of diagnosis for a child who was deaf
and hard of hearing was two and a half years old.
Today, it's two months old.
And for those of you who are around children and know,
infants, their brains are like sponges,
and just absorbing so much information.
And without access to language, no matter
what kind of language, through ASL
or through spoken and listening language,
whatever kind of communication, without that communication,
there can be permanent delay in development.
Now, parents have a lot more support to help
answer the questions like I had after Linnea was born.
Within days a parent guide from Minnesota Hands and Voices
will contact the family.
These parents are parents of children who are deaf
and hard of hearing themselves, they've walked those shoes.
They're trained to be able to let families
know about resources and information.
They're located throughout the state of Minnesota,
and they even speak different languages.
They connect families to resources like where teachers
can come out to the house and work with infants
and provide special interventions
so that those babies will stay on track for development.
Deaf and hard of hearing mentors that
can connect them with as well.
So, they can connect with adults who have been there
who know what it's like to grow up with a hearing loss.
And what about that very practical question
I had about hearing aids and insurance?
Now, Minnesota has a hearing aid loaner program
where families can get hearing aids immediately
for their babies so they can have access
to sound immediately while their parents
are working through the maze of insurance and financing.
Now, after 10 years, we've really done a much better job
of answering that all so very important question
about what is the future like for children
who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Well, we're really beginning to understand factors
that impact outcomes, and then
doing something to improve those.
State agencies are working together,
such as the Department of Health,
the Department of Human Services,
and the Department of Education on tools
such as The Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System
to help show growth and achievement for our children
who are deaf and hard of hearing in Minnesota.
Using this important data, we're beginning
to see how participation in education
and social programs early on effect
how children do in school later.
No longer do parents need to worry
about their child graduating from high school
with a third grade reading level.
Now we can see data about how our current deaf
and hard of hearing students are doing
in Minnesota, and it's really good news.
Linnea turned 12 recently, a year ahead of
our Early Hearing Detection and Intervention legislation.
I'm not sure which I'm more proud of.
Well, of course it's Linnea.
She recently spoke at our 10 year
Early Hearing Detection and Intervention celebration.
She wrote and gave her own speech.
And she ended that speech by saying,
"My hearing loss has never gotten in the way
of what I want to do."
"I'm deaf and I'm proud of it."
We have a lot more work to do here in Minnesota,
but over the last decade we've really made strides
in helping all children who are deaf and hard of hearing
achieve great things and be proud to be who they are.
Thank you.
