what in the world do we got here a buffalo ender
Hey everybody it's Rob with Rob finds treasure and I thought I'd pick up a couple of nickel boxes today
and do a two nickel box hunt once again I ran over to a Chase Bank I've added
two cross streets here for my reference and another Chase Bank same thing cross
streets for my reference and I got in the car and like I always do I popped the tops and I
just want to make sure that they're circulated nickels and they are you can
tell her that so I get this in the car popped it I'm pretty excited I'm like you
know what I'll get that one home go to the next Bank grab a box of nickels same
thing popped it open in the car the very first nickel I popped up to see
if it was circulate or not was a Buffalo ender Buffalo ender it's been a long
time since I got one of these now I've been cool for it but an o-5 Buffalo
ender on this side that I've been really cool but to any extent boom we got one
here and I don't see a mint mark so it's gonna be a plain date still really
excited now this is my second box I'm gonna hunt don't you go fast born in
ahead to see what you're that Buffalo is we've got a whole nother boxed up right
here I'm keeping that to the side I'm so excited about that I haven't found one
in a while and it feels good I have found to Buffalo Enders before that's my
third ever so we'll have to see what other goodies are in that box now I
haven't checked all the others in this box or this box all I've done is check
the top and look down the sides I didn't see anything else in this box I haven't
seen anything else in this box so we're ready to get this hunt started
right off the bat we're all one I think that's the fifth nickel in we've already
got a 40s nickel it's a 1949 Philadelphia rolled over fives gonna
give us a couple of fines here 1941 pretty beat-up
it is a San Francisco though and I saw a few coins behind it
a 1947 Philadelphia rule number nine another 40s nickel right there took a 46
Philadelphia rule 12 another 40s nickel right here 47 out of Denver same role
the 1940 San Francisco rule 17 another 40s nickel and this was in 1946 nineteen
another 40s nickel 1947 Philadelphia but you can box so far with the early
Jefferson's well 25 and we might have a pair of oldies first and foremost we got
a 1941 Philadelphia in the front of the roll and it could be wrong but that
looks pretty old right there to 1947 Philadelphia it's four forty sevens roll
40 still no sewers of Buffalo's or V Nichols in this box but we did find
another 40 and it's a 1940 Philadelphia stacking up the oldies but not the
goodies rule 43 got another 40s nickel a 1946
Philadelphia rule 47 and we got a little bit of a rainbow going on here so I
figured that pulls them up one by one to see if we got any goodies could be a
silver there in the middle or the second to the last one
2011 nothing major 76 nothing major
striking out boys 84
we got silver 1945 San Francisco all right got some silver and zip box with
three rules to go rule 49 another 1947 holy cow
San Francisco this time box number one is hundred twenty-eight total fines
we got 409s three from 1940 a41 silver nickel we'll get to that in a second we
got three from 46 five from 47 49 of 50 to 156 357 s 458 159 three nickels I'll
check against my album they might upgrade and then of course the fine of
the box is a silver wartime nickel 1945 San Francisco not the greatest box a
little bit better than the average got silver got more than 25 fine so that's
good but we got another box to go and we know there's a Buffalo ender in it roll
three first phone in the new box 1948 Philadelphia Ron roll number four guys
and it's a good sign check it out another oldie 1939 it would be really
nice if it was a D or an S just show me a mint mark
let's hope 39 Philadelphia but guess what that's a great find thirties nickel
roll number five guys I want to show you something that's a crying shame
take a look other than a huge scratch across look at this 1946
oh man it's got a good luster - look at that I see the back
pretty clean fields good detail it's a 46 s and it's gonna scratch across the
entire face
Wow we still like it a lot you don't see him like that too often
look at the other 46 as I pulled no comparison oh well still fun rescuing
him we'll call it Scarface grab rule number six and we've got an ender as
well right next to the Buffalo ender actually that's a 1954 next role is the
Buffalo ender guys and we're gonna wait to open that one till the end don't you
go fast forward it to the end we got other roles to look inside first role
fourteen we've got a 1941 Philadelphia wait or is that a mint mark it is it's
an S I thought I saw something back there 41's roll 22 you got another 1941
San Francisco again well 24 we've got a 1946 and it just has that Ward nickel
look you know there is a certain variety of nickel that if you could find a 46 on
a silver thirty-five percent silver planchet that'd be something but you
can't wait so one way to find out is to get it actually tested you could ping it
on the off the counter as well but I won't be doing that because whenever I
throw coins against this table it drives my dog crazy and he's sleeping well pull
it aside though cool fine 1946 Oh Denver rule 25 another 1946 Philadelphia
this time rule 31 we've got a 1940 right here Philadelphia and I saw it's all
bring it on it I think I saw a 57 somewhere in here there it is
57 D rule 25 and we've got another what do you know it 1946 San Fran rule 40 and
I just laid him out haven't done anything else and that's a silver I did
not see it by its edge and that's why you can see it barely in there 1943
pretty toasted but it's a 43d those are tough polls definitely take a second
silver in the box and a forty three D check your mints on those guys they're
not everywhere figured I'd get my book out just to make sure you were aware the
same thing I'm aware of 1943 D Nichols only fifteen point three million minted
look at it compared to the other silver nickels 58 million 33 million two
hundred and seventy one 904 1 1932 21 1 1937 59 15 million minted it's pretty
much it not is pretty much it is the rarest of the silver wartime nickels and
yeah that's in bad shape but hard to get nickel for sure just the collection
filler I've already got a couple so this is my third one I gave one away to mr.
dirty nickels as well but tough to find and we just found one rule 42 gonna have
another 40s nickel here this was a 48 and I think I've only found one of these
out of the two boxes so far so we'll take it 48 Philadelphia hunting we're
all 43 and guess what another 48 48 Denver we're all 45 and we
gotta have an old one here it's got a demon mark on the back what do you think
46 47 forty-seven all right guys ruin rule 50
it's not the last rule because we still have one of the rolls in there I think
that was actually roll six or seven but this is a crazy rule because look at
this we got 39 there and I bring in because
I'm not a stranger to seeing reliefs and I think we got a few oldies in here that
one looks old yep 54 and that looks old I could even see the 49 so in 1949
Denver always nice to find one of those 54 Denver we found a lot of those and
I'm taking my time because I'm hoping we've got a mint mark on this 39 we
don't yet know mint mark oh well guess what
second 39 in the box though all right it's time to open the Buffalo ender and
I think we checked earlier right no mint mark no mint mark on this bad boy so
judging by the condition in the back looks really good I'm pretty certain
we're gonna be able to get a date off this guy pretty certain and it's
probably gonna be late 30s 35 36 37 maybe 38 I guess we'll just jump right
into the action here here's the back of the Buffalo most definitely a
philadelphia and it's not as good a shape as I thought it was will I get a
date we do have a date I'll be able to get that no problem and that is my
friend's looks like a 1923 fairly certain that's what it says no doubt all
right good no Nick a date needed glad I didn't have to use any treatment on it
and we get to have a 1923 buffalo nickel Philadelphia
and the Mocs I'll go through this role and then I'll
get you a monster wrap up so that box of nickels is hunted guys and that was a
really really good box because you recall we had 28 total finds at the end
of the first box well we've got 65 now so 37 finds in that box high level we
got a total of seven 2009's in the two boxes look at all of these forties
nickels I mean I can go through them all but we got four 40s a 41 we got 7 1946
--is we got five forty sevens 348 to 49s we did find a 1951 in there it's not a
denver three 1952 to 1953 for 1954 'he's a 1956 we got 5 1957 s 8
1958 359 s for coins to check against the album we got a buffalo nickel 1923
philadelphia to silver wartime nickels one's a pretty common 1945 san fran and
one is the hardest silver wartime nickel to pull 43 denver hard to get those only
15 million minted and then of course you found 239 PS which you can't get too mad
at either so at the end of the day the second box was ridiculous the first box
was pretty good so in total 65 finds five nickels that I'm really excited
about of course anytime you get silver or Buffalo's or pre 40s nickels you
can't get mad at that if you enjoyed the hunt guys and I hope you did because I
sure did I'd appreciate the thumbs up and as always everyone happy hunting and
thanks for watching
