In this video, we are going to take a look at 10 best cases for the Samsung Galaxy S8
and the S8 Plus.
Many companies sent me their cases to take a look at, and out of those I have selected
10, that I think you guys might be interested in.
While the S8 feels great in your hands, the glass back makes it very slippery, and it
also catches a lot of fingerprints.
Applying a skin to the back might take care of the fingerprints, but it barely adds any
protection to rest of the phone.
Putting a case on it, helps solve both the problems.
I know a lot of you are like me, and don't like to put cases on your smartphones.
But given a chance, I would always go with a case
rather than having a broken phone.

We will start with the case that is good, but provide the least amount of protection,
and then move up towards the one that provides the most.
And at the end, I will show the one that I like the most.
First up we have the Rhino shield crash guard bumper.
While, It provides excellent protection to the sides and corners and gives you a lot
of grip to hold the phone, it leaves the back glass completely exposed.
All the ports are easily accessible, but the buttons feel a bit rigid and you have to press
down a bit hard on them.
This is a great option if you want to have your beautiful phone on display, while adding
a bit of protection to it.
But the open back isn't going to save the phone from fingerprints or smudges, and it
is most definitely not going to be much help, if the phone falls from a height onto an uneven
surface.
Next we have a transparent, flexible, thin TPU case from Olixar.
With this case, you can still show off the back of the phone, but also protect it from
from getting damaged, if the phone falls from a small height.
There is a small lip at the front, which keeps the screen from touching any surface.
After using It for 2-3 days, sides have started to feel a bit loose for my liking.
It comes in various colours so you can choose the one that you like the most.
This one is good for someone who is looking for a minimal case, which also shows off the
beauty of the S8.
Then we have this flexible TPU case, with Karbon fiber design on its back, it is the
Karbon shield case by Poetic, and this one is for the S8 Plus.
I don't have the S8 Plus, so haven't got a chance to test this one out, But I have used
Karbon Shield case on my S7 Edge, and it provided a lot more protection than the previous cases
we saw.
It has a nice grip at the sides, better lip at the front, and more protection at the corners,
to keep your phone safe from drops.
Next we have these Flex S series cases from Ringke.
From the name, you can tell that these cases are flexible.
This red one has a leather like finish to the back, and the One for the S8 Plus has
a different textured finish which provides even better grip.
I like these cases, as they not only look good and provide a lot of protection to the
phone, but they also feel very good in the hand.
Buttons are tactile and easy to press, all the ports are accessible and the cutouts align
perfectly.
All the cases from this point forward have a hard back, and are not flexible.
The first non flexible case that we have, is from TUMI.
This one has a plastic back with leather like finish to it.
I actually got this case free with my S8, so I have had this longer than any other cases.
Its a thick case which provides a lot of protection to the phone.
There is a soft material inside the case, to keep the back of the phone from being scratched.
The texture behind the case is supposed to provide a good grip, but for some reason it
doesn't stay very well in my hands.
Then there are the Affinity and Revolution series cases for the S8 Plus from Poetic.
Again, I don't have the S8 Plus so I haven't tested these specific ones.
But I have use both these cases before for the iPhone 7, S7 edge and the OnePlus 3T,
and they provide excellent protection to your phone.
I specially like the Affinity case, since it shows the back of the phone while keeping
it protected.
This transparent plastic does not turn yellow with use, like on some other cases.
It will however gather scratched with use, but I think, its always better to have scratches
on the case rather than having them on the back of your phone.
I hope you guys will agree with that.
The poetic revolution series case is a 2 piece case, while it will provide better protection
to the phone, it will also make it a bit bulky, which might or might not be a good thing,
depending on your preference.
Next up, we have the case that provides the most protection to the S8, but also ends up
making it huge.
It is the defender series case from Otter Box.
This is a 3 layered case, and it also comes with a holster, which will let you attach
it to the belt of your pants.
All of these layers are designed to take the maximum impact if the phone falls down.
The outermost layer is made of rubberised plastic, which feels really soft great to
the touch.
I wish there was a thinner case with material like this.
This case is definitely not for everyone, but if you are into adventure sports, or if
you travel a lot and handle your phone very roughly, this case might come in very handy
for you.
With that, we come to the final case.
As I said before, this is my favourite case for the S8 and I ended up using this a lot
more than the other cases that you see here.
It's the Pathfinder series case from UAG.
It fits the phone perfectly while providing a lot of grip and protection, And while it
looks tough, it doesn't make the S8 feel bulky at all.
It is light and rugged, and I really like the way it looks.
There is a lot of protection to the corners, screen is very well protected thanks to the
big lip at the top and bottom, and the buttons are textured and very easy to press.
All of these cases provide some level of protection to your S8, which one you end up using, depends
on your needs, taste and style.
The UAG Pathfinder case works best for me.
