expand people's cultural horizons
I think this one's a real uphill battle.

Collective Leadership - Duration: 2:07.
America is facing a stark reckoning.
The racism and hatred on display have been simmering under the surface for a long time,
and it's time to confront it.
Students deserve leaders who understand this truth and who have the courage to live up
to the American ideals of equal opportunity and justice for all.
You'll find these leaders at Teach For America.
We are 56,000 strong, and together with our students and all who support them, we strive
to create the world as it should be.
We come to this work from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
For most of us, TFA wasn't our plan.
We signed up to have impact, but we didn't know exactly where that choice would lead.
Then we met our students.
And their families.
And looking back, we know that this was never just about two years.
From wherever we are - we are all fighting because of our uncompromising belief in every child,
because we've seen their potential come alive in our classrooms.
TFA is among the most diverse, integrated organizations in the country.
Being part of this community means being connected to perspectives that are different from your own.
Every day, we recommit to working across lines of difference in pursuit of enduring change.
This is the foundation of collective leadership.
It's what this moment in history requires.
Twenty years from now, our children will ask us about this dark hour.
I plan to stand with you and say we were builders.
That we were part of rebuilding America into a more powerful, just, inclusive nation.
This is hard work.
It's the work of a lifetime.
It's what we signed up for.
And we will keep at it until the work is done.

Spontaneous Cooking for the Soul Ep#1: Mauritian Idli [Vegan] - Sweet Semolina Steam Cakes - Duration: 11:42.
Hi Friends.
Welcome to the 1st episode of a totally new series of videos entitled
Spontaneous Cooking for the Soul, which is geared towards a more unplanned cooking.
We came up with this series which we will publish in addition to our usual videos and
this series will be more about recipes that we cook on a daily basis.
So, when we can and when spontaneity kicks in, we will just grab our camera and start
filming with a more natural approach and without all the meticulous planning, cuts
and other editings.
This way you'll not only be able to enjoy more videos from us, since some of you have
requested more frequent uploads, but at the same time you will get a better sense of what
goes on in our kitchen.
These videos are going to be a little longer than our usual videos with fewer cuts depending
on recipes and it is in the perfect pace in case
you would want to be cooking along with us.
If you are not, please make yourself cozy with a nice cup of tea and some snacks,
sit back, relax and watch.
Let's cook!
So, for this first episode, I'm going to be doing a Mauritian idli recipe, a vegan
version of the Mauritian idli.
So, the Mauritian idli is a sweet steamed cake which is not fermented like the Indian
version which is fermented overnight and then cooked.
The Mauritian one is made with semolina flour and it's really easy and very quick to make.
So, let's get started.
For this, you are going to need an idli mould.
But if you can't find an idli mould you can use these kind of silicon cupcake liners,
or you can also use something like this - stainless steel bowls.
But idli moulds, they have those little holes in there
that help the idli to become more fluffy.
So, that's nice.
So, first of all before we start the preparation, I'm going to put some water in a pan here.
This is where we are going to steam the idlis.
So I'm going to turn this on so that it starts to heat up.
Now I'm going to grease the idli mould.
So, you just take the trays out.
And you can use any oil.
I'm using coconut oil.
So, just lightly grease each cavaty.
So, these idli moulds, you can find them in Indian grocery stores, some of them carry
those moulds.
Or you can also buy them online.
I'll leave some links down below in the description if you want to get them online.
If you're using the silicon liners, then you don't need to grease them.
So, now I'm going to set this aside and then we can prepare the batter.
So, in a mixing bowl, we're gonna add all the ingredients.
This is semolina flour, fine semolina.
You can find semolina in fine, medium or coarse.
I'm using fine.
You can use something from fine to medium but not the coarse one.
So next we're gonna add some baking powder.
So, one teaspoon... of baking powder.
And that's salt, just a pinch because this is the sweet version but we just need a pinch.
So next we are going to add the sugar.
I'm using granular sugar.
So you can use white or brown sugar.
This is demerara.
So, as usual you can check the recipe for the exact amounts of ingredients.
Okay, so I'm going to mix this now, all the dry ingredients together and i'm going
to start adding the wet ingredients.
So, that's coconut milk.
This is canned coconut milk.
You can use other non-dairy milk.
So, if you are using other non-dairy milk, then you can just replace the water with the
other milk.
So, next I'm gonna add water.
And then that's vanilla.
So, one teaspoon.
Now mix all this together.
So, we're looking into a thick batter consistency.
Make sure all the ingredients are well mixed.
So lastly I'm going to add some coconut flakes which are optional.
So just one tablespoon.
So, now we're going to fill the mould with the batter.
So don't overfill them as they will rise while steaming.
So now the second layer.
When you place the second tray make sure you're alternating the cavities.
So place it like this.
So that the steam can travel in between the trays.
And then the last tray.
So now attach the knob and we're ready to steam the idlis.
Cover the pan and steam the idlis for 11 minutes, not more or they will lose their fluffiness.
Turn off the heat and let the steam go down for about 30 seconds before uncovering.
A toothpick inserted in the middle should come out with just a few bits of cake but
not any wet batter.
So, once the idlis are cooled,
remove them from the mould.
And you can dip them in some coconut flakes if you like.
Idlis are mostly enjoyed at breakfast time.
They go down a treat savoured with a cup of tea.
They will keep in the refrigerator for two days and can be frozen for longer.
To reheat, just place them on a steamer rack and steam for about 5 minutes or until they're warm
As you can see they were very easy to make and they don't take that much time.
They only take about 11 minutes to steam.
So, they look really nice and they look very fluffy.
So, i'm gonna taste one for you.
Mmmm!
They're really good.
So... like I said, if you want to use the silicon liners, you just place a tablespoon
of batter in each and you put that on a tray and then you steam it the same way.
So, I hope you're enjoyed this recipe.
Don't forget to give us a thumbs up if you have and also share the video.
You can subscribe to our channel and also subscribe to our newsletter.
We send an email every time we have a new recipe on the blog and on the channel.
So, I'll see you soon for our next episode.
Bye!

What is under our feet on the other side of the world: The Antipodes Explained!! - Duration: 3:36.
Did you ever imagine, what is under your feet, on the other side of the world.
Today we'll help ourselves understand, the antipodes, (the other side of the world) of
any place on Earth.
In geography, The antipode of any place on the Earth is the place that is diametrically
opposite it, so a line drawn from the one to the other passes through the centre of
the Earth and forms a true diameter.
For example, the antipodes of New Zealand's lower North Island lie in Spain.
In the Early Middle Ages, Isidore of Seville's widely read encyclopedia presented the term
"antipodes" as referring to antichthones (people who lived on the opposite side of the Earth),
as well as to a geographical place;
So if you start drilling down right under your feet & keep advancing in a straight line
you would reach your antipodal location.
There are no non-stop scheduled flights between any two antipodal locations by any commercial
airline service or anything even close.
In addition, there is currently no commercial aircraft capable of travelling between antipodes
at full load non-stop.
Around 71% of the Earth's surface is covered by oceans, and seven-eighths of the Earth's
land is confined to the land hemisphere, so the majority of locations on land do not have
land-based antipodes.
By definition, the North Pole and the South Pole are antipodes.
The two largest human inhabited antipodal areas are located in East Asia (mainly eastern
China) and South America (mainly northern Argentina and Chile).
The Australian mainland is the largest landmass with its antipodes entirely in ocean, although
some locations of mainland Australia and Tasmania are close to being antipodes of islands (Bermuda,
Azores, Puerto Rico) in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The largest landmass with antipodes entirely on land is the island of Borneo, whose antipodes
are in the Amazon rainforest.
So following this antipodal theory if you drilled down & created a tunnel from Christchurch
new Zealand you would come out in A Coruña (Spain).
Isn't that amazing.
Similarly drilling down in Hong Kong will make you come out in La Quiaca (Argentina)
You enter in Padang (Indonesia) you come out in Esmeraldas (Ecuador).
Now if you enter the earth in Washington DC you will come out somewhere in the Indian
ocean.
Beware of the sharks.
A very famous gag in 90s U.S. Cartoons was "digging all the way to China", but this was
entirely inaccurate and/or misguided information as digging anywhere in the United States straight
through ends you up in the Indian Ocean.
(Aside from Hawaii, as well as parts of Alaska and Montana)
At the closing ceremonies of the Rio 2016 Olympics, they used the antipodes as a tool
to invite you to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
There was an image of the video game character Mario using his famous pipes to travel between
Tokyo and Rio, arriving at the closing ceremonies.
There are some of the websites which help you find your antipodal locations.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in FAIR: First Impressions + Review | Raquel Mendes - Duration: 8:41.
fenty beauty
hey guys welcome back to the channel and today I'm gonna be reviewing the tarte
shape take concealer I got it at QVC as well with their like sponge-y thing I
know that in QVC they have a limited shade range still I felt like
fair from the swatches I saw online fair would be my best shot and it is pretty
fair in neutral so I think it'll be a nice match but we're here to test all
about this this is like the concealer of the year and everybody's been really
excited about it especially on Instagram and YouTube it's been all the rage and
first of all this looks huge I don't know how concealer is how much
concealer usually have this has 10 mil let me compare it to my Becca my Becca
has 5 grams this has double the product it is really massive which I don't know
why I always thought it was gonna be a little bit smaller but we're gonna test
this out today I'm gonna test on my under eyes as well as my pimples I know
this is mostly an under-eye concealer but if we're testing it out let's test
it out all the way and it's supposed to be really high coverage and really like
BAM so I'm gonna use my Beauty Blender on
the side and their own sponge on this side we're gonna get to the bottom of
this open it for the first time okay this is massive can you see those and
they see a little goes a long long way so I'm gonna just make a few little dots
under my eyes here I'm gonna use my Beauty Blender and I think the match is
really really great though oh my god I think I've ever had a concealer like
this this has a like the same texture of long wearing foundations if that makes
sense so it's a little bit more chalky and powdery than most concealers
I'm used to just a few extra ones here and hence why I think this could be
great for blemishes as well so I'm going to do the
other eye and then I'm going to show you up close what I'm talking about
but I'm also going to do this eye with their own sponge and they have this
little sponge that is not as fluffy as the BeautyBlender but but like the
overall texture kind of looks the same so we'll see I definitely think the
Beauty Blender is a little more bouncy I also think that the Beauty Blender
somehow leaves a better finish even though it is another sponge I'm gonna
come up close I just want to do the second little one here the Beauty
Blender side if you can see what I'm talking about this side is a little
patchy and weird I don't know if it if this side is naturally drier or if it's
about the sponge I don't know I am typically used to more luminous and
hydrating under-eye concealers I might feel like this is drying throughout the
day but we'll see and in the meantime can I cannot get over how massive this
is cuz I feel like from the texture to me this would be a blemish concealer not
an under-eye but I know people like to like mask their faces on this new
Instagram makeup trend and you guys know that I'm really not all about this but I
thought no one live here to test it out it smells kind of like roses that's why
I'm smelling it because it smells kind of floral Beautyblender side this looks
really good as a blemish concealer is anyone else doing using this as a
blemish concealer because I think that's where it's at can you hear that
it has the power of a high coverage foundation and yet it isn't cakey at
all, at all I'm really impressed for the blemish part you guys
think that this is non-comedogenic because if it is I might use this on the
daily as my pinpoint conceal what is happening up close
I hope you guys can see this beautiful finish because it is really just
beautiful with any sponge I feel like the Beauty Blender is a little better at
blending it just takes less time but even the other sponge is doing a great
job and I feel like it's just flawless I'm gonna set this with my by Terry
powder that as you know it's kind of blurring it's super hydrating and
non-drying so I'm just gonna set that in cuz it's really hot today and I know I'm
gonna sweat even though this on the eyes has a really chalky finish I think it's
because my under eyes are really really dry so I'm gonna do the rest of my
makeup and I will check back in with you in six to eight hours so we're back and
it's been about seven hours since you last spoke so my base was a BB cream so
as it is a little it is a little oily but the parts where I most applied the
concealer aren't that oily and I don't know I just really really like this as a
pinpoint concealer for acne it's just a tiny bit washed off but the texture is
so perfect it's only like a little bit broken off as an under-eye I mean it has
increased much or budged but I do maintain that I prefer like creamier
more hydrating under eye but for a pimple concealer yes
so much yes I am so excited to incorporate this into my life and
routine and I'm going on vacation now whether when you're watching this I'm
probably gonna be on vacation so I'm pre-filming everything but I'm gonna take
this with me as like I'm not even sure I'm gonna take foundations just gonna
take a little bit of concealer just to sort things out in a time of need but
I'm very excited about it so as an under eye concealer if you have
normal to oily under eyes I think anyone has oily under eyes but if they're quite
normal then you might get along with this and if you like full coverage under
eye concealers or if you need full coverage under-eye concealers if you
have dry or flaky under eyes I think this will be a bit too cakey although if
you can manage to put it under a really creamy base it might not it might be a good
deal if you really need the coverage I don't myself I don't have very dark
under eyes just like lightly so I did still prefer my Becca
aqua luminous concealer for under-eye it's a little more of a pimple concealer
consistency so all in all it is a win and you only need the tiniest bit and
the package is huge so I'm very very surprised and at the same time really
really happy with my purchase so let me know guys if you like this video give it
a little big old thumbs up subscribe to the channel for more and click the
little button to know every single time I'm uploading and let me know if you try
the Tarte shape tape if you like if as an under-eye or as a pimple concealer or
both and don't forget to follow me especially on Instagram and Twitter I'm
probably gonna be really lively on my Instagram stories because I am right now
on vacation and giving you a little taste of the south of Portugal thank you
so much for watching
you
