THAAD would hinder economic cooperation with S. Korea : China's Commerce Ministry - Duration: 0:32.
China's commerce ministry says South Korea's decision to deploy THAAD will hinder the growth
of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The Ministry's spokesperson Gao Feng told reporters on Thursday the U.S. anti missile
system seriously harms Beijing's strategic security interests, as such Seoul should acknowledge
such facts and properly address the issue.
Gao added.... though bilateral ties have been stable in the past few years... it can change
as public opinion shows signs of wavering due to the defense upgrade.

North Korea fires another ballistic missile over Japan - Duration: 1:56.
North Korea carries out another missile test.
This morning an intermediate-range ballistic missile fired by the regime flew over Japan.
Analysts believe the act is aimed at boasting latest advancements in relevant technologies.
Kim Hyun-bin starts us off with details released so far on Pyongyang's latest provocation.
North Korea launched an intermediate ballistic missile early Friday morning from an area
near Pyongyang.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff say the IRBM was fired at 6:57 a.m., South Korean
time, from Sunan, near the North Korean capital.
It flew over northern Japan and came down in the north Pacific.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff say the missile reached an altitude of 770 kilometers and
flew around 37-hundred kilometers.
Seoul and Washington are currently analyzing the launch to confirm what type of missile
it was, but many experts say the missile was most likely a Hwasong-12.
Late last month North Korea fired a Hwasong-12 over Japan,... which travelled 27-hundred
kilometers and reached a maximum altitude of about 550 kilometers.
Friday's launch followed a similar path, but flew one thousand kilometers further than
the previous launch 17 days ago.
In response, the South Korean military has conducted its own ballistic missile training
exercise in the East Sea.
The military fired two Hyunmoo-two missiles,... which have a range of 250 kilometers.
(Korean) "With the consent of the president, the military
launched two Hyunmoo-2 ballistic missiles into the East Sea, considering the distance
between the training ground and the Sunan airfield,... the origin of this morning's
provocation."
One of them landed directly on target, but the other crashed into the East Sea shortly
after launch.
The South Korean military is looking into the failed launch.
North Korea's latest launch also comes four days after UN Security Council slapped stronger
sanctions on the regime for its sixth nuclear test conducted earlier this month.

"Software is the future": Soft Wave 2017 kicks off in Seoul - Duration: 1:37.
Some of the biggest tech firms in the world are shifting their focus to software.
The trend was made ever more visible at a special exhibition held in Korea, home to
the world's biggest chipmakers and a hardware powerhouse.
Lee Jeong-yeon gets us up to speed with the changing trend.
One of South Korea's biggest software exhibitions opened its doors to the public on Thursday.
Held at Coex in Seoul, this year's 'Soft Wave' has invited some 180 tech companies both local
and from overseas.
(Stand-up) The leading software companies from around
the world are here at Softwave 2017,... introducing the latest technology and industry trends.
The exhibition covers software in diverse forms such as online systems, real-life applications
in games and mobile apps, as well as artificial intelligence.
(Korean) "Software is at the core of the fourth industrial
revolution and we have many outstanding Korean software companies, but we didn't have any
platforms to showcase them to the world.
Through this exhibition, foreign buyers can come to learn more about Korean companies."
The exhibition's second year running, what's different from last year is that there are
companies looking to hire new graduates and there's a platform for start-ups.
This is part of Soft Wave's mission to foster a younger generation that will lead the future
of the software industry.
(Korean) "I'm studying electrical engineering.
Coming here I've learned more about what IT companies do and it's definitely made me more
interested in jumping into this field in the future."
Soft Wave 2017 will run through this Saturday.
