Come come, more photos
My favourite is a turtle
I want to see a turtle
Do you want to see a penguin or a turtle?
Yes, but I already have a turtle, but he is just a toy
Guys, guys
When we're walking back I just saw an aquarium. Can we go now mommy?
Let's go and see the ... if we can find it
Where are we going?
Underwater World, Langkawi
Really? I don't know about that
But I saw an aquarium when we just went out of the car
Really?
Here you can make your own fish, this one is nice. Choose it
Colour it in
How nice it is.
You make your own fish
and then you
put it in the fish tank
Here's your fish
Okay, make another fish
Don't go over there Megan otherwise we won't see your name, so that's cool
Put it in the ocean
His name is Nemo
Look there
It's huge and look at this giant grouper
The kids had so much fun at the aquarium.
Megan was super excited to see her turtle and penguin
and Kayla couldn't wait to see what is around every corner
They had two hours of constant excitement
and to top it off
they got to draw their own fish which they popped into the ocean
and watch it swim around
The creepy Japanese Spider crab
was Eben's highlight
This specific one is over a meter wide
but they can grow up to 3.7m
We're busy going up the Gunung Raya mountain
It's said to be the highest mountain in Langkawi
at about 881m high
and you can really feel
The heat is gone, it's getting nice and cool
It's higher than the sky bridge
and you can actually drive here
so, if you are afraid of heights
or cable cars
then this would be the option for you
We're now on the highest mountain
in Langkawi
and if you go up that tower
you're on the most highest point
but we're not gonna do that
and there's some
I don't know
Funny monkeys
If you're up to it
there's 4287 steps
to climb
from sea level 55m from sea level
to 787 m to sea level
4287 steps
and then you end up here
and there goes the path
all the way from there at the bottom
The mountains there at the back is where
the skybridge is and the skycab
and all the sky stuff, sky dome, skyrex, skyart
When you don't have a home anymore
and neither do you have washing machines
daily basic stuff becomes fascinating for the kids
Our last night in Langkawi
We're now at
Cenang beach
The main beach around Langkawi
Nice playground for the kids
Swimming pool...quite important
Played on the playground
and she fell off
right on her tummy
We just heard a loud bang
Melanie almost passed out
I had to take care of
Melanie first before I could take care of
Megan
You are SO over exaggerating
You're gonna fall Meggie, it's gonna hurt
I got her, daddy
No, it's gonna hurt
It's team work
that can go wrong very quickly
as I said
and luckily daddy is always there
We're now on Cenang Beach
which is their main beach
it's quite busy
and you have to
you have to be careful here
there's a lot of traffic on this
beach
from old sedans to
scooters
people trying to race
so it's quite busy on this beach
a lot of jetski's
and not so many restaurants
and bars
every now and again you see something
where you can buy food
Bye Langkawi
Here, hold the camera
Say bye Langkawi
Bye Langkawi, I will miss you
We're leaving Langkawi and we're already missing it
it was a wonderful place
We just passed customs
yes, Langkawi is a duty free
island
everything is duty free if you have a passport
that's why beer is so extremely
cheap in Langkawi
you pay at the
supermarkets about RM2,60 for a beer
and at a
restaurant
anything from about RM4 or RM3 you'll pay
and we're gonna board on the ferry now to the mainland
which is about an hour's drive
and from there we catch the bus
at 8pm taking us to
the other side, to the eastern side of Malaysia
where we get a private ferry to
the Perhentian islands
One last thing
when traveling on these ferries and busses
in Malaysia
take something warm
it's really cold inside and if you
travel for extended period
you're really gonna get cold so take a jacket or something
in the last ferry we saw a guy
who just put on pants
and
like a big jacket
and hoodies and gloves and
socks so
take something warm I think he was a bit
over eager but take something warm
you're gonna need it
Melanie, tell us all about your research
I sat until 2am this morning
trying to figure out how we're gonna get
to the Perhentian islands
from Langkawi
Sorry for interrupting you but this is a different ferry
Look at this, sorry
Look at this! It's a cat!
No tiny small narrow
wiggly ferry
although it's only one hour
I'm sure it's gonna make a difference
and this lady... No more sea sickness
And this lady sat until
2 o' clock this morning
to investigate and research
what to take, where to book
and where to go
all on a budget
on a budget, so no chopper rides
no planes, budget
Here's our ferry
We are now at Kuala Besut
ferry
jetty, jetty point whatever and we're
waiting for our ferry
I think it's an eight seater ferry
we arrived here after a
nine hour bus drive
where we drove throughout the night
the aircon was
freezing and you can't adjust it
and we were just freezing
if it wasn't for the aircon we would've had
a good night's rest, the chairs
are big and soft
and luxury but the aircon
horrible
but yeah, we've been here since 5:30
and our ferry will only be departing at 8am
and the kids are sleeping
Although they slept through the whole night
they're still a bit tired I'll say
and we have two more hours
to go before the
office opens for our ferry
to the Perhentian
but luckily this place is opening up now
so we can get at least
a nescafe which I'm gonna get
right now
Is it seven? No, it's not seven yet
I was there five minutes ago
and they said 7 o'clock
it's now like eight minutes to seven
Well our time in Langkawi has come to an end
Thank you so much for watching this video
We are off to
the picturesque Perhentian Islands
so please subscribe to stay tuned
and share memories with us
as we spend some time on this beautiful
beautiful island
Happy Wanderlusting!
