Stacking and correcting images in Astrometrica software.
Select master dark and flat
Stack images
Find a comet
Now stack images on stars.
We can do this easy, just put 0 to Object motion.
Now we got images ready for photometry.
Do not forgot to select proper observing location, telescope, camera and comet destignation.
Open comet image.
We can use upper limit aperture, which increasing aperture size from 1 to selected value.
And stop, when it detect bright star or if comet brightness is not increasing anymore.
Stretch image to see real size of coma.
Right click triggers the photometry measure.
Fixed aperture always calculate magnitude to maximal value.
Tail can be measured directly on image to clicking to middle of comet head and end of the tail.
We can open different image to measure reference stars, if the tracks are too long on comet image.
To start measure we put limit of faintest star to be plotted on image.
We can change the limit by button.
Yellow are the stars which got color index similar to Sun and are idea for photometry.
Sometimes stars are shifted on Astrometrica stacked image.
We can correct this with selecting star center and its plotted position to correct the shift.
Now the plotted positions are on stars. Correction is not necessary if shift is so small as on this image.
Right click will measure star, SHIFT+Right click will remove it.
Do not forgot to input number of original images before stacking.
Here we can check measures of stars and comet.
Stars with high deviations can be excluded.
You can check info about comet distances and altitude, and also Moon and Sun altitudes during observation.
Now here is output in ICQ code, Comet Mailing list code and experimental Afrho values.
Plot shows evolution of magnitude with increasing size of aperture radius.
You can append data to txt file with your observer code or copy and paste to COBS database.
You can compare your measured magnitude and coma diameter with actual data in COBS database online.
