The refreshed Honda City is the perfect definition

for a facelift

Nothing major like the Kardashian. No no

More like a quick trip to Vicky Belo

The face is still familiar with some new things

that make it oh so attractive

The differences begin with the front grille

the headlamps, the fog lamps, and of course

the LED daytime running lights

The latter being our favorite because when you combine it

with the 16-Inch diamond cut rims

It makes the City one of the better-looking subcompact cars out there

At the rear, no surprises

The City maintains its strong sharp angles

and a boot roomy enough that I could fit in

What is a surprise is that the boot is so roomy

that it'll fit our camera equipment, our videographer Vincent

and his trusty laptop

Revenge

The dash is seamless, driver-oriented and of course

all the controls are within reach

A great addition is Garmin's navigation system

It uses the brand's GPS to give you directions

without the need for internet access

However it doesn't give you, say, traffic updates

like Waze or Google Maps would

but then again it's a great plus

when you're out of town at low signal areas

As for the seats, they're very comfortable

Honda uses a specific fabric that oddly enough

doesn't remain warm even when parked under the sun for a very long time

For the driver, you got your lumbar support perpetually there

Those that don't appreciate the lumbar support

Well, it's gonna be something that you got to get used to

For a subcompact, the City's rear is roomy enough

for 3 average size passengers with enough legroom

and headroom for anyone 5'7 and below

5'8 and above, you probably will have to make compromises

as with other subcompacts

In place of rear vents in the back, you got 2 power outlets

which are probably strong enough to power even a flux capacitor

No? Little bit too much

This new Honda City has got the same engine as its predecessors

which is a 4-cylinder 1.5L i-VTEC mated to a 7-speed CVT

and paddle shifters to boot which is just about enough

to carry its size and weight along any road

that you choose to drive it on

One of the first thing you'll notice when you're driving

this Honda City is exactly how light the steering is

I mean it takes little to no effort to turn this car

from left to right, no upper body strength is needed at all

Now, that coupled with how soft the suspension is

on the highway or on back roads like this

it'll likely put anyone to sleep

And I do mean anyone

See what I mean?

Dude, wake up! There you go

What must be mention is that

this is the only subcompact sedan in this price range

that includes cruise control

Now, that may not mean much to a lot of people

but trust me, when you get out of the city

and you're driving on a highway

it is nothing short, but god-sent really 'cause it's awesome

Essentially, there are 2 types of cruise control available on the City

Sort of, hear me out

There's normal cruise control, so you've set it, you see something

on the road, you got to slow down, you change lanes, you change back

then you hit resume, there's that kick that everybody feels

as the car is getting back to the speed that you set in on

On economy mode, when you slow down and you hit resume

to get back on speed, you don't feel a kick at all

it's like a slow progression to that same speed that you were

Without wasting any excess fuel, it's pretty, pretty darn cool

It's like.. it's like the Gandalf of cruise control

It's never early, it's never late, it arrives precisely when it's supposed to

Don't mess with the wizard

The touch controls are definitely stylish

effortless when at rest

However when the car is moving, that's a bit of a different story

See, if you don't take your eyes off the road

You just might turn up the heat on a very hot summer's day

Oh, and the horn, the weirdest thing

when you press it, it's like you're beeping yourself

'cause the sound is coming into the car, listen

Yah okay I'm moving the car! I'm moving! Oh that was me

It's just weird

All things considered, this Honda City VX comes in well-priced

at Php 913,000. The difference between this and the top-of-the-line VX

is 90,000 Pesos but you get LED headlamps, LED foglamps, leather seats

And a whole of new other things which to us sounds like a

really really great deal

But if you're working on a solid budget trying to keep it

under a million Pesos

Well, this City VX might be your next ride

China's FM warns North Korea to stop walking risky path - Duration: 0:38.

Staying with the UN General Assembly,...

China's foreign minister Wang Yi has warned North Korea to stop walking a dangerous path

with its nuclear and missile provocations.

During his speech at the world body,...

Wang said that, whether it's North or South Korea, the Korean Peninsula should not accommodate

a nuclear state.

Observers say Wang's comments indicate that Beijing is not only against North Korea's

nuclear armament... but also any tactical nuclear deployment in South Korea,... a possibility

that's being raised in and out of the country.

He reiterated that dialogue is the only way out of the standoff with North Korea.

Kim Jong-un makes unprecedented statement at Trump as N. Korea suggests future ... - Duration: 2:46.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has escalated his war of words with President Trump, threatning

to take the "highest level" of response to Trump's words at the UN General Assembly.

According to Pyongyang's top diplomat, that response could be a hydrogen bomb test in

the Pacific Ocean.

Kwon Jang-ho reports.

The stakes in the tit-for-tat rhetoric between the U.S. and North Korea has been raised once

again.

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un released a statement on Friday, condemning U.S. Prsident

Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly, where he threatened to "totally destroy" North

Korea if forced to defend itself or its allies.

Kim said instead of making any remarks that could have defused tensions, Trump spouted

"unprecedented rude nonsense" that caused "worldwide concern."

He called Trump "mentally deranged" and a "dotard", meaning a senile old person.

Kim said the U.S. President has insulted him and the regime and pledged to take the "highest

level of hard-line countermeasures."

The statement is an unprecedented escalation in rhetoric.

It's believed to be the first time Kim, or any of his predecessors for that matter, has

made such a statement in person on state media.

However, despite this new precedent, one expert says it didn't come as a total surprise.

(Korean - ) "Kim's grandfather and father, Kim Il-sung

and Kim Jong-il, were charismatic and had authority.

They wouldn't have dealt with this kind of situation themselves, they wouldn't have needed

to.

But Kim Jong-un's grip on authority is much weaker, so he HAS to show a strong response

to Trump's comments.

It just shows his limits."

North Korea's top diplomat, Ri Yong-ho, who is in New York for the UN General Assembly,

was asked about Kim's statement.

(Korean - YTN) "In relation to Trump's thoughtless words,

he said he would take the highest level of countermeasures.

I believe that could be a test of our most powerful hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean."

Pyongyang already carried out a nuclear test earlier this month, which it claimed to be

an H-bomb.

But a detonation in the Pacific Ocean would be considered a massive step in provocations,

especially as it would be outside of North Korea's borders.

But for now, experts are skeptical such test will come any time soon..

(Korean - ) "I believe they are technically capable of

carrying it out.

But I think it should be seen as an introduction of a new threat card on the U.S.

They are first more likely to continue test firing Hwasong-14 ICBM missiles into the Pacific,

and then later use that to make further threats about testing an H-bomb there."

Kwon Jang-ho, Arirang News.

Mane insists LFC can still win the title and says the Reds' squad are delighted Coutinho is staying - Duration: 4:07.

Sadio Mane insists Liverpool can still win the title and says the Reds' squad are delighted Philippe Coutinho is staying

SADIO MANE insists struggling Liverpool still have all the qualities needed to win the Premier League.

The Senegal superstar believes the Reds four-game winless run since dispatching Arsenal 4-0 is just a blip that could happen to any team.

Frontman Sadio Mane says the current Liverpool plight is just a blip.

Sadio Mane is sure Liverpool will climb back up the Premier League.

The Anfield attacker told ESPN: Sometimes it can happen in football, but the most important thing is the reaction and it is important to do that.

We have a great team and great qualities in the team, and I think we will do it.

Honestly, it is too early to talk about the title.

We are not focused on other teams, just on ourselves, and we know we can beat any team in the league..

Mane hit the second Liverpool goal when they destroyed Arsenal in what seemed a season-shaping Premier League victory on August 27.

But the Reds were immediately whipped 5-0 at Manchester City.

They then drew their Champions League opener 2-2 against Sevilla and were held to a 1-1 Prem stalemate by Burnley at Anfield when Philippe Coutinho returned to the starting line-up.

Sadio Mane notched the second Liverpool goal in a 4-0 defeat of Arsenal.

Sadio Mane helped to silence Arsenal but it has all gone quiet for Liverpool.

And not even a lively 45 minutes from Brazilian Coutinho could save Liverpool from a 2-0 Carabao Cup exit at Leicester.

on Tuesday.

But Mane said: These kind of results can happen in any team.

But we will do our best to change the situation.

We will try to take it game by game, and why not win it at the end?.

Philippe Coutinho has delighted team-mates with his return, says Sadio Mane.

The 25-year-old was as happy as anyone at Anfield to see playmaker Coutinhos deadline-day move to Barcelona break down.

The ex-Southampton hero said: It was not only important to me, but also to the whole club, that Phil is staying here.

He is one of our best players, an important player, and we are happy to see him stay with us.

Liverpool are now eighth in the Prem after five games, behind Burnley and Huddersfield.

Top two Manchester City and United are both five points clear of the Reds.

Liverpool 1-1 Burnley: Mohamed Salah cancels out Scott Arfield's opener as Sean Dyche's men grind out a point at Anfield.

Sadio Mane says he is as confident as ever about Liverpools hopes this season.

Joel Matip confident in Liverpool's defensive approach despite recent flaws - Duration: 3:59.

Joel Matip confident in Liverpool's defensive approach despite recent flaws

Joel Matip has backed Jurgen Klopp's defensive approach at Liverpool, despite the Reds shipping 16 goals in nine games so far this season.

Until Tuesday night's 2-0 loss to Leicester City in the League Cup, Matip had played every minute of every game for Klopp's side this season.

Now, the 26-year-old faces a spell on the sidelines, having missed training on Wednesday and Thursday with an injury picked up in the 1-1 draw at home to Burnley in the Premier League.

Matip's absence serves to magnify the Reds' problems at the back, with the Cameroonian arguably Klopp's most distinguished centre-back.

His experience as a leading talent in the Bundesliga provides him with an interesting viewpoint on the differences of defending in England and, now, under Klopp.

But Matip believes the German's approach is "a good way of playing" in the English top flight.

"Both parts only work together.

I cannot stand at the back and our attackers go forward and there is so much big space," he told NBC Sports.

"We all have to fit together.

It is not always easy but this is our way of play but I think that is a good way of playing.

"Everything has its positive and negative sides but I have no doubt about our way of playing.

Matip went on to explain the differences in defensive work in the Premier Leagueand the Bundesliga, attesting to the frenetic pace of his new league.

"Physically and sometimes the pace.

It's going up and down, up and down," he continued.

"In Germany it is often a little more tactical I would say.

It is not going down from the one goal to the other goal.

That would be the main difference.

"When Klopp was a coach in Germany he also had his centre-backs play in a similar way.

"I would say physically because you play against a striker who is really strong in the air and brings a lot of body weight into the game.

"Also the pace.

If you go directly from offence to defence, offence to defence, that's something different to get used to.".

The No.

32 is now in his second season working under Klopp on Merseyside, but it has been a difficult start to the campaign, with criticism mounting.

It is clear that the Reds' style of play puts considerable pressure on the centre-backs to remain focused, and physically prepared, but Matip has confidence it will pay off.

Why it's tough to play for Liverpool, as the 25-year Premier League wait continues - Duration: 6:42.

Why it's tough to play for Liverpool, as the 25-year Premier League wait continues

The longer Liverpool's wait for a Premier League title continues, the harder it will be for new players to settle at Anfield, writes Andrew Beasley.

Liverpool FC holds a uniquely difficult position in English football.

They probably do across the whole of Europe, in fact: the Reds may be the most successful club in the land, but they haven't won the league for 27 years and counting.

They've had spells of success within that period, most notably when they won the Champions League in 2005.

They have also finished second in the league several times, most recently in 2013/14.

What has tended to happen after finishing second has been a nosedive, though, as seemingly everyone associated with the club can't handle the disappointment of getting so close to the holy grail.

Liverpool are burdened with history and expectation, but don't have the huge financial backing that tends to guarantee a title every few years.

Leicester City upsetting the odds and claiming the title in 2015/16 obviously hasn't helped matters either.

If they can do it, why can't Liverpool?.

This insatiable thirst for the title has created a fanbase full of people who can't handle the slightest setback.

It's not the fault of the current manager and players that Liverpool haven't won the league since before Sky invented football in 1992.

They will make themselves club legends if they manage to at some point.

But they are also criticised at times as if they are responsible for the entire lack of titles.

This can make it very difficult for new players to thrive.

Take Loris Karius, a young German goalkeeper who was signed in the summer of 2016.

He was brought in to be first choice in Jurgen Klopp's first summer transfer window.

When he got into the team following an initial injury, he looked like he was going to be No.

1 for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately he then made mistakes costing goals in successive league matches against Bournemouth and West Ham.

All hell broke loose on social media as fans perceived his mistakes as potentially derailing yet another bid for the title.

Klopp then dropped Karius from the side, and he hasn't played too often since.

This is not to say the boss took him out of the team purely due to fan pressure; far from it.

But clearly if a player in a key position doesn't have the support of the fans, then as the manager you've got a large problem.

It's far harder to allow players to grow and develop within the team when you're trying to get the monkey of a lengthy title drought off your back.

For a comparable example of the opposite of this, we must look to Liverpool's fierce rivals, Man United.

In the summer of 2011, they signed a young Spanish 'keeper called David de Gea.

He looked nervous at first, and made some costly errors.

It's not that United didn't want to win the league during his first season.

Indeed, they only lost it on goal difference to Man City, so they very nearly did take the title.

But whether they had won it or not, they could allow De Gea time to develop as they had won four of the previous five league championships.

Had they had one bad season, it wouldn't have been the end of the world for them or their fans.

As soon as something similar happens to Liverpool though, the world caves in.

Perhaps Karius isn't good enough to be Liverpool's No.

1; his form in Germany before moving at least suggested it's not impossible that he might be.

Chances are he won't be as good as De Gea either, who is now one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

But it seems unlikely now that Karius will get an extended run in the Liverpool team.

We may never know what his true level is.

It's not as if a Liverpool signing can't thrive immediately.

Mohamed Salah has started his debut campaign at Anfield in spectacular style, just as Sadio Mane did 12 months ago.

But the club's most recent signing, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, is seemingly being written off by some fans after one start for Liverpool.

One! What chance does the poor guy have?.

Or indeed, does any new signing at Liverpool have? The weight of expectation and the burden of history is a powerful cocktail.

It's one which must make playing for the Reds very difficult for all but the very best of players.
