How Do Tags Work On YouTube - Duration: 3:36.
Many people think that if add the right tags to your video then your video will rank higher.
But this is actually not true.
Tags do something different.
Hey youtubers, Nico here.
If we want to understand what tags really do we have to take a step back and look at
the YouTube algorithm.
Luckily, Google published a scientific paper about the suggested videos algorithm.
That gives us the details we need.
The YouTube algorithm is not a block box that just takes all videos and then somehow outputs
a ranking.
It's actually more complicated than that.
Luckily, we know a little bit more.
It's not just one black box but instead a two step process.
First, the algorithm is selecting the candidate videos.
Next, the algorithm is ranking those candidate videos.
So if we take this pile of all videos we have on YouTube then in the first step the videos
are selected that are relevant for the current situation.
If we talk about the suggested videos algorithm then of course it's videos that serve well
as the next video to watch.
So it takes a few videos – from several millions just a few hundreds – out of this
huge pile which are a good choice for what to watch next.
Then those videos go to the next step and that is finally then the list shown to the
user.
Now I assume that the search algorithm works in a very similar fashion.
At first, we have all videos available on YouTube.
And now the user is entering a search term.
The algorithm takes those videos from the pile that match the search term.
And this is actually the step where your tags come in.
Tags explain YouTube about which topic your video is.
Does your video match the search term?
If your video indeed matches the search term then it goes into the candidate pile.
If it doesn't it remains in the pile of all the videos that are on YouTube but are
not relevant for the current search.
So your tags are important to get your video into the candidate pile.
But once this pile moves on the second step then the ranking of those videos is determined
based on other metrics.
First and foremost watch time of course.
And that is then finally the list displayed as the search results.
What do we learn from that?
Although tags don't help your to rank higher they do make sure that your video ranks at
all.
Basically all metadata has the same purpose.
Tags, title, description, and closed captions.
They explain YouTube about which topic your video is.
So the YouTube is able to match the search term with the metadata and decide whether
your video goes into the candidate pile.
But one thing you can't expect: Once your video goes into the candidate pile based on
the good metadata you set, you are not guaranteed to actually land in the search results at
a top position.
Ranking itself is determined by different factors like watch time.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), also known as acne inversa, is a painful, debilitating
and chronic inflammatory skin condition.
This condition affects up to 4 percent of the population.
This long-term skin condition is characterized by blackheads and red, tender bumps (lesions)
on the skin.
The bumps cause itching and burning sensations.
They often grow bigger in size, eventually breaking open and draining pus.
Recurrences often result in scarring.
Here are the top 4 home remedies for hidradenitis suppurativa.
1.
Keep the Area Dry
Sweat and remnant water on the affected area can worsen this skin disease.
So, take all possible steps to keep the area free of any moisture.
At the same time, maintaining proper hygiene will help prevent flare-ups.
Gently wash the affected areas with lukewarm water and antibacterial soap a few times a
day.
After washing, pat dry and apply an over-the-counter antibiotic powder to help any sweat get soaked
up immediately.
Take a bath daily and change your undergarments frequently.
After using the bathroom, dry the area well with toilet paper.
Avoid using deodorants, which can sometimes irritate your skin.
Consult a dermatologist regarding the type of antiperspirant you can use.
Avoid swimming or any other activities that make your skin wet.

Warm Compress
A warm compress will help soothe your irritated skin and reduce the pain associated with this
condition.
It will also help the swelling go down.
You must only use dry warm compresses.
Wet compresses can worsen the condition.
Fill a glass bottle with hot water.
Wrap the bottle in a thin, dry towel.
Hold this compress gently against the affected area for 10 minutes.
Repeat several times a day, as needed.
Note: Do not use a hot compress if the bumps have ruptured and pus is draining out.
Also, avoid warm compresses if you are pregnant or suffer from diabetes, poor circulation
or high blood pressure.
3.
Turmeric
Turmeric is an effective antiseptic herb that aids in healing bumps and lesions on the skin
quickly.
Also, its anti-inflammatory nature helps reduce swelling, pain and other symptoms of HS.
There are several ways in which you can use turmeric for treating HS.
Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder with a little olive or coconut oil to form a paste.
Apply it directly on the sacs, wounds and lesions.
Wait 30 minutes, then wash it off.
Do once or twice daily for a few weeks.
Mix 1 tablespoon each of turmeric powder and raw organic honey, along with 2 tablespoons
of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar into a glass of lukewarm water.
Drink it 2 or 3 times a day.
Mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder into a glass of hot milk.
Drink it twice a day.
If you prefer to take curcumin capsules, consult your doctor first for the correct dosage.
4.
Bleach Baths
In some cases, taking a bleach bath can help a lot to reduce symptoms of HS.
It is more effective in cases in which there are symptoms of a bacterial infection.
Before taking a bleach bath, consult a dermatologist.
Add 1/3 teaspoon of 2.2 percent household bleach for every 4 cups of lukewarm water
in your bath.
Stir it thoroughly, then soak in the bath for just 10 to 15 minutes, keeping your head
above water.
After your bath, rinse with clean water and pat yourself dry with a towel.

that makes sense when you think about it like that, but it also means it's kind of a pain in the butt.
So what you need to do is you need to add some open graph information to your website
so that when someone shares a link to your website, it pulls in an image that you feel like represents your site and some good
basic information that you feel like represents your site. If you use something like Wordpress there are plugins that do this
but you can also do it right from the in the code of your template. So just look up
"Facebook open graph" code and then the name of the website software
you use and I'm sure there's some great resources out there that can help you with this. So
check out, you know, paste a link into Facebook,
see what it looks like. If it doesn't look like the way you wanted to,
