Tyrese Says Online Meltdown Caused by Psychiatric Medication, Apologizes to Fans - Duration: 1:39.

For Complex News, I'm Hanuman Welch.

Following a rough couple months in public, Tyrese took to Instagram to explain that he's

been taking medication to help with the stress and anxiety that his current situation is

causing alongside a photo of what he was taking.

The meds had an adverse affect and that is why he had a complete meltdown online.

He claims to be all better now and off the meds, and is very apologetic to the people

he hurt during this period.

"I want you guys to know that to this day I don't drink, smoke or on any level do

I do drugs," he wrote on Instagram.

"Because of this high stress and very traumatic experience I was… connected with multiple

therapist[s] and psychiatrist[s]… and these were the psych drugs that was suggested and

this is the reason I had a complete meltdown online."

Admitting that your not only taking meds is incredibly brave, but to also admit that they've

been adversely affecting you is some next level shit.

Tyrese made headlines for somewhat bizarre behavior recently, like bad mouthing Dwayne

"The Rock" Johnson over his role in the Fast and Furious franchise and his spin-off

movie.

Tyrese even went as far as to blame The Rock for his money and family troubles in a fiery

Instagram post.

And Tyrese was clearly going through it with his family: He's currently in a lengthy

legal battle with his ex-wife Norma Gibson for custody of their daughter, Shayla.

He is also certain that opening up in this way will not hurt his ongoing court case with

his ex-wife.

He also mentions the risks of letting others suggest psychiatric medication, presumably

without the proper medical advice

"This will NOT compromise my case….

This is transparency and honesty and more of a heads up," he wrote.

"Don't let folks suggest drugs especially psychiatric meds we all you need is to be

still and and preset in the Lord and he will deal with your fights and reality.

Praying for you guys."

Explaining My Last Video - Duration: 10:17.

I probably should have gone ahead and recorded this to upload at the same time as my last

video.

I expected I'd need to explain, and I doubt this is the extent of the confusion.

After all, I left it to exactly what I said I was going to show - that it's virtually

indistinguishable from something real.

Why in the world would I bother with that when, if anything, that could show how great

of satire it is?

The short answer is I don't think he meant to satirize himself.

That and that the very mention of "satire" tends to shut down criticism and critical thought

about the message.

I mean right at the beginning he had a clip pointing out that, in satire, people tend

to see everything but themselves.

More accurately, I think, people seem to see it as making fun of everything else while

any part they agree with is often considered to be the point.

Technically, all he actually said was satire in the comments was the proposal itself.

If I take that to its absolute narrowest interpretation, that would be the suggestion that we should

create a white ethnostate.

Do I think Real wants a white ethnostate and is either hiding it in satire or somehow unaware

that it's mocking his own desire?

No.

That, and that alone from the entire video, actually does seem to go against the rest

of what he says.

But if we attempt to take this even one step out, even just interpret the suggestion as

being the suggestion that what the left really wants is a white ethnostate, so the rest of

society doesn't have to deal with white people, it becomes far less clear.

Does Real actually think the left wants to rid their world of white people?

I don't know.

But quite a few others do.

Even one of the commenters said that they think the leftists don't want white people anywhere.

Though I suppose saying leftist, especially in quotation marks, might have been an attempt

to distinguish between some fringe extreme and everything else that falls on the left.

But, of course, once something has been labeled as satire it's not merely a small portion

that gets disregarded as having a non-literal point.

The whole thing becomes off-limits to many, any criticism a clear point about either how

screwed up the world is that it could be believed or how dense the critic must be to bother

criticizing.

So then, even though only the suggestion was explicitly called satire, the whole work will

be presumed to be by some.

But is it?

Again, I don't know.

I asked the first time I watched it if the whole video was or merely the proposal, but

received no answer.

That's fine, but that leaves it for me to determine or guess for myself.

So let's go with the assumption that it is...what's it making fun of?

Well, obviously it's got its cracks at the extremists on the left.

It clearly looks at a particular position that's been seen, and argues for how the solution

to the problem presented is the removal of white people.

Though to claim that he's steelmanning anything is to first suggest there's really someone

out there who argues that white supremacy -

not heteronormativity, thin-privilege, ableism, or anything else, whether demonstrable or imagined, but white supremacy -

is somehow oppressing categories of people that can simultaneously be white.

Or worse, that someone is arguing a position even weaker than this.

But I digress...

So, anyway, I doubt much of his audience or mine would fail to see the ridiculousness

of the position he's presented for the left.

Honestly, I don't even think that most of the supposed SJWs would see that position

as having legs to stand on any more than I think they'd see it as being a fair representation

of or superior version of their own positions.

But is there anything else?

Well if the entire thing is satire, then yes, there is.

If it's all just satire and I refrain from taking it too seriously, then I'd have to

conclude he's mocking the people who oppose this argument as well.

The people who present the idea that hatred of white people is taking over or already has,

the idea that this IS the position of the left (and not merely a relative few loud extremists),

and the idea that the left controls everything and is suppressing the right.

This part, however, I do think many would miss - especially, of course, those who believe

that's all true.

And, as I demonstrated far more than that some want a white ethnostate or think the

left is ultimately pushing for it to happen, there are people who believe this.

Problem is, those people seem to include Real himself.

And that's the thing.

That's as much a mischaracterization of the world worthy of mockery as the idea that all

white people are evil, sub-human oppressors of everyone who isn't straight, white, and

male by birth.

I don't know how many people noticed this, but those examples didn't single out a little

corner of the left that's extreme and say "these people over there think we need to

compete in the oppression Olympics.

That little group there thinks everything bad that happens is somehow the fault of those

who have a good life."

They far more broadly described the issue as being the left or insisted it's pervasive

throughout society.

Even Irate Bear, who used labels that could have been said to apply to a subgroup of the left

(however overbroad they've become since),

turned around and described it as "the left basically" ultimately

making what might have been an attempt to be descriptive into something else.

Perhaps a reaffirming that the left is essentially just extremists.

And this goes for the examples from one of Real's other videos as well.

Just like the others I presented for comparison, Real refers to this alleged group of extremists

pushing racism against whites and trying to deconstruct countless social norms as just

being "the left."

And just like other examples, he portrays "the left" as having control of virtually

everything - entertainment, the media, and higher education in one of the non-satire

clips I provided.

Which is why, at the end, I said I wonder how much of it actually is.

How much of the video is satire?

Is it only the proposal that a white ethnostate is the actual solution?

Does it strictly extend to suggesting the left actually wants such a state?

Or does it ultimately satirize those who are fighting "the left" while often not even understanding

their opponents arguments?

Did he mean to satirize himself?

Was the whole thing beautiful satire of the "okay to be white" nonsense (from both sides)?

Or on the other side, how much of it is just another example of someone not understanding

the actual arguments and painting half of the political spectrum with the same one broad

brush?

Does he believe the left controls everything in the world but somehow failed to stop Trump?

Does he believe that the left really thinks the existence of white people somehow inherently

oppresses fat people (even fat white people)?

Does he believe the left in general hates white people and wants them out of society?

I don't know.

I can't know.

I can only take him at his word or not if he even answered those questions.

But I do know others do believe this, and enough of them that it seems like the internet keeps fighting strawmen

back and forth.

As for the point of my other video, I stated it near the beginning: to show that, without

the disclaimers or an understanding of the creator, there'd be no reason to assume this

wasn't serious.

To show Poe's law is at play and everything said is seen as reasonable to someone, even

if Real wouldn't be considered a Poe since he explicitly stated at least some of it was

satire.

And to show that real himself has recently helped spread the idea that this is what the

left believes in, even if he personally understands more nuance than that.

And, in case you're wondering, why I didn't just explain all my points in the one video:

I didn't want to distract from my side by side comparison of the satire piece compared

to what people actually claim.

I didn't want to just sit there hand-holding everyone to see that, for example, in the

first clip from the satire Real claims the views are getting more and more common in

society, being conditioned into the populace.

While in the not satire pieces I showed after, people actually view it as being already extremely

widespread and agreed that the populace is being conditioned by every mainstream source

to believe it.

I suppose by leaving that for people to see for themselves, though, I've left my message

up for interpretation much like the satire piece mine was about.

Could that be its own message, too?

But to be crystal clear for anyone who might be confused.

No, the left isn't mainly extremists who want white people gone.

Just like no, the right isn't mainly extremists who want a society for just white people.

Extreme, ridiculous views get attention. They get shared,. They get the responses... the more

absurd, the more likely it is to get addressed and be made seem more common than it really

is.

And the less absurd, due to our tribal nature and misunderstandings of what others mean,

often get twisted into being ultimately the same as their more absurd counterparts.

And so we keep seeing people focus on what very few believe and even sometimes twisting

that to be worse than those who believe it really understand it to be.

And, no, I don't think satire is dangerous because it's often close to reality.

I do, however, think the tendency to oppose criticizing or analyzing something because

it's satire or a joke can be pretty dangerous, though. Because these things tend to display

some underlying reality and they can often reaffirm massively inaccurate views of the

world.

OBS Studio 122 - How to Stream and Record HIGHER QUALITY at the same time! (Streaming Tutorial) - Duration: 4:06.

We've talked about recording and streaming, but what if you want to do both at the same

time??

This is actually pretty common to have a local copy for highlights, or if you just want to

upload a higher-quality copy of your stream VOD once the stream is over.

Let's take a look at how to set it up.

Any high-tier live production needs a variety of scenes to show and quick, precise switching

between them.

The Elgato Stream Deck gives you 15 keys with customizable LCD screens behind each, that

can execute macros, application launchers, scene switching and source muting for OBS

- and you can nest folders for more actions and UNLIMITED POWAHHHH.

Grab yours today via the link in the video description.

I'm EposVox, here to make tech easier and more fun, and welcome back to my OBS Studio

tutorial course.

I have many, many more videos on the software in the playlist linked in the description.

Check that before asking questions, and check the introduction video to learn how this course

works, if you get confused.

OBS Studio has separate "Start Streaming" and "Start Recording" buttons which allow

you to control recording and streaming separately, but you're able to do both at the same time.

Even better – you have the option to record either the same quality copy that you live

stream, or record a much higher quality copy locally.

This is a pretty powerful feature, and it may require powerful computer hardware to

make work.

To set this up, all your really have to do is make sure your "Output Mode" is set

to Advanced in your profile, and customize your recording and streaming settings separately.

For example, I stream to Twitch using x264 at around 6 megabits per second, but record

locally using Nvidia Nvenc at 30 megabits per second.

Get your settings set appropriately, hit apply, and then make sure you hit start recording

alongside start streaming.

If you're looking to edit your VODs or highlights after you stream, you can also utilize multiple

audio tracks with your recording.

I have videos on how to set up your streaming and recording profiles, as well as how to

best utilize multiple audio tracks in the course playlist.

If you're like me, and tend to forget to hit "Start Recording" at the right time

after you've started streaming, there is a handy fix.

In the "General" settings, you can check "Automatically record when streaming"

so that it presses that button for you.

Also, you can check "Keep recording when stream stops" if you have an issue with

needing to start and stop streaming or something.

I leave the second one checked, but I tend to utilize the automatically record option.

As we discussed in the bitrate video, you'll want to be careful when choosing your recording

bitrate to consider how long you plan on streaming.

My overkill 250 megabit per second recording bitrate is great for short recording bursts

for videos, but would quickly fill up all of my available storage for my long 6-hour

streams on Twitch.

So for streaming, I've lowered the recording bitrate to 30 megabits per second.

For more information on bitrates, check the "Bitrate considerations" video in the

course playlist.

And that's all it takes!

You can record and stream at the same time, and in different qualities!

If you have the ability to utilize hardware encoding from Nvidia or AMD, it's generally

better to use that capability for recording locally, and x264 for the live stream.

X264 codec looks better at low bitrates whereas Nvenc or AMD VCE looks better at high bitrates.

I hope this episode of my OBS Studio tutorial course has been helpful for you.

If it was, drop-kick that like button and subscribe for awesome tech videos.

If you like game streaming, come follow me on Twitch and drop a message in chat.

Until next time, I'm EposVox, Happy Streaming!
