Lonzo Ball Becomes Youngest NBA Player to Notch a Triple-Double - Duration: 1:24.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

Lakers guard Lonzo Ball made history on Saturday night, surpassing LeBron James as the youngest

NBA player to record a triple double, the statistical achievement of reaching double

figures in three statistical categories.

At 20 years old, Lonzo grabbed his tenth rebound to go along with his 13 points and 11 assists.

Former Lakers great and current Lakers President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson tweeted

at Lonzo saying,

"Congratulations to Lonzo @ZO2_ for becoming the youngest player in NBA history to record

a triple double."

The lakers ultimately lost 98-90 to the Milwaukee Bucks dropping the teams overall record 5-8.

When interviewed after the game it seems the loss got in the way of Ball's achievement.

"I really don't care, We took a loss.

It don't really mean nothing."

Earlier this summer, Ball became the first NBA rookie to get a triple-double during the

Las Vegas Summer League.

JUST IN: NFL Protester Makes Shocking Move, Media Stunned. - Duration: 4:03.

JUST IN: NFL Protester Makes Shocking Move, Media Stunned.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end, Michael Bennett, shows that the issue of NFL players kneeling

for the national anthem isn't as cut-and-dry as one might think.

Before Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals, Bennett decided to stand

for the national anthem.

Previously, the defensive end has sat down during the anthem.

Bennett became one of the faces of the NFL protests.

Previously, he vowed to sit during the national anthem for the entire football season.

He made this vow even before President Trump expressed his opinion that players should

be fired for kneeling during the Star Spangled Banner.

The defensive end is the son of a Navy veteran, so he was raised with respect for the men

and women in uniform.

Thursday was "Salute for Service Night," which is an event intended to honor United

States veterans.

Bennett also stood for the anthem on Veterans Day.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Thursday marked the first time all season that Bennett

stood for the national anthem.

The rest of his team also stood.

The reason NFL players have either kneeled or sat during the Star Spangled Banner is

to protest alleged police brutality against black Americans.

While Bennett believes in the objective of the protests, he also understands the importance

of respecting the military.

"It was to signify that we are all with the military, and that we love them," he

said in an interview with the Tacoma News Tribune.

"There's been this narrative that we don't care about the military.

Today, we were honoring the military, so we wanted to be able to honor the military.

The defensive end also stated that the protests have "never been about the military."

He added, "If there is an opportunity to support them and be grateful for what they

do, and the sacrifices, we want to be able to do that."

While Bennett does plan to sit for the national anthem at other games, he has stated that

this will not be the last time he will stand during the Star Spangled Banner.

On November 20, the Seahawks will host their "Salute to Service" game against the Atlanta

Falcons.

"This is Veterans Day weekend.

And next weekend is Salute to Service," Bennett said.

"I am going to stand up for that game, too, to honor them."

The NFL protests have been the subject of a heated national debate since former San

Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, began kneeling for the playing of the anthem.

The argument subsided earlier this year, but was brought back onto the public stage when

President Trump stated that players who kneel for the anthem should be fired.

There are reasonable arguments on both sides of this issue, and good Americans can disagree

on whether the NFL players' method of protest is appropriate.

Nevertheless, it is important that both sides truly understand one another — and mutual

understanding is something that is missing from our current political discourse.

Those who oppose kneeling for the national anthem accuse the players of not respecting

American soldiers.

While this accusation might apply to some who support these protests, the majority of

kneeling players have stated that they do not intend to disrespect the United States

or its troops — they only wish to bring awareness to a perceived injustice.

On the other hand, supporters of the protesting players label those with whom they disagree

as bigots who are uninterested in the plight of American minorities.

Are there some who oppose the protests as a result of bigotry?

Perhaps, but these individuals are few.

The majority of those who oppose the protests take issue with the way the NFL players are

protesting — not the fact that they are protesting in the first place.

Bennett's decision to stand during the national anthem shows that he can express his opinion

while still having respect for US armed forces.

Hopefully, people like him can help other Americans engage in debate without demonizing

one another.

Wiz Khalifa Tells Fans: 'Lean is Lame' - Duration: 1:48.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

Wiz Khalifa shared a message for his fans Saturday over Instagram.

The "Laugh Now, Fly Later" rapper seemed to get in his feelings and wanted to empower

anyone watching his video post.

He started off saying,

"You know I was doing a lot of thinking, because I like to think a lot.

And you know when a lot of people follow one trend, or find themselves doing the same thing

that everyone else is doing, you don't really get someone who speaks for the other side."

In between drags of his joint he continued to say.

There

you have it, for Wiz Khalifa lean is definitely lame, but if you're looking at all the recent

tracks dedicated to the concoction, its popularity doesn't seem to be waning anytime soon.

It's been endorsed by the likes of Three 6 Mafia and UKG, Ab-Soul, and Lil Wayne.

However the deaths of DJ Screw and Pimp C were linked to codeine consumption and overdose,

while Bun B and Macklemore have spoken openly about using and then quitting their consumption

of lean.

In other Wiz Khalifa news, his mixtape "Live now, fly later" was released earlier this

week .The 10-track project will reportedly precede Rolling Papers 2 and it has just one

feature, Casey Veggies, who assists on the project opener "Royal Highness."

Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

I'm going to show you how to create a powerful, film noir-style portrait.

Open a high-resolution photo of someone that you'd like to use for this project.

The result will look best if your subject's lighting is mostly from one side.

I downloaded this photo from Shutterstock.

Its size is 1080 pixels in width and height and its resolution is 150 pixels per inch.

The first step is to separate our subject from its background by making a selection

around our subject.

For this example, I'll use the Quick Selection Tool.

If you're using this tool, as well, drag the tool over the inside of your subject to select it.

To remove areas outside your subject, press and hold Alt or Option as you drag over those areas.

To finesse the selection of the hair, click the "Select and Mask " button

or go to Select and Select and Mask.

If you're using a version earlier than CC 2015.5, you'll see "Refine Edge", instead of "Select and Mask".

I did in-depth tutorials on both filters, so if you'd like to watch them, I provided

their links in my video's description below.

If you're using CC 2015.5 or later and would like to use Refine Edge instead of Select

and Mask, Shift-click "Select and Mask" to open the Refine Edge" window.

I'll click "Smart Radius and drag the Radius to approximately 42 pixels.

Then, I'll drag my brush over the edge of the hair.

I'll check "Decontaminate Colors" to fill in the edge of the hair and choose "New Layer with Layer Mask".

We'll make this layer into a new document by clicking the icon at the upper right of

the Layers panel and clicking "Duplicate Layer".

Open the Documents list and click "New".

Name it "Displacement".

We're going to make this document into a displacement map, which we'll use to wrap

the shadows of the shutter blinds around the contours of our subject.

We'll make a new layer below the active layer

by Ctrl-clicking or Cmd-clicking the New Layer icon. We'll fill it with white, but first,

check your foreground and background colors.

If they aren't black and white respectively, press "D" on your keyboard.

Since white is your background color, press Ctrl or Cmd + Delete.

We'll convert our visible image into a Smart Object, so we can modify it non-destructively.

To do this, Shift-click your subject to make it active as well, and then, convert them into one Smart Object.

Click the Adjustment Layer icon and click "Black White".

Click the Adjustment Layer icon again and this time, click "Levels".

Drag the Input Highlight slider to the point where the histogram starts to rise

and do the same for the Input Shadows.

This increases our subject's contrast, which will make our displacement map more effective.

Next, we'll blur it, which will also give us a better result.

Make your subject layer active

and go to Filter, Blur and Gaussian Blur.

Blur it 2 pixels.

Go to File and Save As.

Save it to your Desktop, so we can access it quickly.

Save it as Photoshop file

and click "Save".

If you see this message, just click OK.

Open back your subject document.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the New Layer icon to make a new layer below the active layer.

Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Linear gradient icon is active.

Click the gradient bar to open the Gradient Editor.

Click the "Black, White" preset and click the lower, left Stop.

Click the color box to open the Color Picker.

Click the lower, left corner of the color field and for Brightness, type in 20.

Then, click OK.

Click the lower, right Stop , the Color Box and for Brightness, type in 50.

Then click OK on both windows to close them.

If your subject is lit from the right, place your cursor on the left edge of your document

and press and hold the Shift key as you drag the Gradient Tool to the right edge.

Then, release.

If your subject is lit from the left, then, drag the Gradient Tool to the left.

Make your subject active.

Click the Adjustment layer icon and click "Black White".

We want to restrict the adjustment layer to affect just the one layer beneath it.

To do this, either click the Clipping Mask icon or press Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows or

Cmd + Option + G on a Mac.

Open the Preset list.

I'll click the "Red Filter" to brighten the warm colors of my subject's face, however,

you may find that the Default setting is fine for your subject.

Click the lock icon on the bottom layer to unlock it and drag the layer to the top of your Layers panel.

I'm going to make the red lips of my subject the only color we'll see in my portrait.

If you want to do the same for a particular color of your subject, the steps will essentially be the same.

Go to Select and "Color Range".

Open the "Select" list and click "Sampled Colors".

Make the "Fuzziness" 40.

Click the subject's color that you'd like to isolate.

Then, press and hold Shift

as you drag over more of the same color to include subtle variations of that color.

If you over-selected it, press "z" on your keyboard to undo it.

If you want to zoom into the area to see it better, press "z" on your keyboard to

open your Zoom Tool and drag over the selected area.

Make the selection into a Quick Mask by pressing "Q' on your keyboard.

I'm going to change the color of my red quick mask to see the lips better.

If you want to change the color of your quick mask, double-click the quick mask icon.

Click the color box and pick another color.

Then, click OK on both windows.

Press "Q" again to make the selection into a quick mask.

We want to remove unwanted areas of the quick mask and fill in other areas.

Open your Brush Tool and Brush Picker.

I'll make the size: 6 pixels, the Hardness: 0% and Opacity: 100%.

To remove areas of the quick mask, make sure white is your foreground color.

If your colors are inverted, press "x".

Now, brush over the unwanted areas.

To fill in areas, press "Q" and invert the selection by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + Shift + I.

Press "Q" again and then press "x" to make your foreground color black.

Brush over areas you want to fill in.

Press "Q" and invert the selection.

Click the Layer Mask icon to make a layer mask of the selection next to the active layer.

To fit your document back onto the canvas press Ctrl or Cmd + 0.

Next, we'll create the dramatic lighting of shutter blinds.

Click the New Layer icon to make a new layer.

We'll fill it with 50% gray.

To do this, press Shift + the F5 key at the top of your keyboard or go to Edit and Fill

to open the "Fill" window.

Open the "Contents" list and click "50% Gray".

Press "D" on your keyboard to make your foreground and background colors black and white, respectively.

Go to Filter and Filter Gallery.

Open the Sketch folder and click "Halftone Pattern".

The Pattern Type is "Line".

Drag the Size and Contrast all the way to the right.

Open your Channels panel.

If you don't see it, go to Window and Channels.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the RGB channel to make a selection of the pattern.

Open back the Layers panel and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard

to delete the white rows of the pattern.

Then, deselect it.

Next, we'll enlarge our pattern.

Open your Transform Tool by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + T.

Click the chain-link icon to link the Width and the Height.

Now, when we type a percentage amount in either the Width or the Height, the other will change

to that amount, as well.

Type in 300% in either field.

Next, we'll change its perspective, but first,

zoom out by pressing Ctrl or Cmd and the minus key on your keyboard a few times.

Go to Edit, Transform and Perspective.

Go to the top, left corner and drag straight up approximately this much.

Then, go inside the bounding box and drag it to the left until the bounding box is close

to the right edge of your document.

Then, press Enter or Return.

Fit it back onto your canvas.

Press "v" to open your Move Tool and position your pattern, so the eyes of your subject,

and in this example, the lips are visible.

Go to Filter, Blur and Gaussian Blur.

Blur it 20 pixels and click OK or press Enter or Return.

Reduce its opacity to 70%.

Let's rename it, "Wall", since this layer will be the pattern on the wall behind our subject.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the layer mask of our subject to make a selection of its shape.

Alt-click or Option-click the Layer Mask icon to make an inverted layer mask of the selection,

next to the active layer.

This layer mask is essentially masking out or hiding our subject from the pattern.

Click off the chain-link icon, so we can adjust the pattern independent of the layer mask.

Press Ctrl or Cmd + J to make a copy of it.

Make the top layer mask active and invert it by pressing Ctrl of Cmd + I.

This layer mask is revealing the pattern onto our subject through the layer mask.

Let's name this layer, "Subject", since it shows the pattern only on our subject.

Increase its opacity a bit to 75%.

Before we apply the displacement map to the pattern,

we need to crop off the pattern that extends past our visible canvas.

Remember, we enlarged the pattern 300% and placed it in perspective.

Press Ctrl or Cmd + A to select our canvas and go to Image and Crop.

Then, deselect it.

Go to Filter, Distort and Displace.

Make the Horizontal and Vertical Scales: 20, "Stretch to Fit" and "Repeat Edge Pixels".

Click the "Displacement" file you saved at the beginning and click "Open".

This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

Thanks for watching.

Cultivating Hope ? Urban Farmers - Duration: 5:00.

The city is becoming greener with little farms on the rooftop and between townhouses.

Urban farming makes city life healthier, tastier and happier.

Meet urban farmers who are fostering the 6th Industrial Revolution in farming.

Here is a typical urban area with many skyscrapers, but up close, you can see a quite rare scene

in the city.

Instead of concrete, the ground is filled with soil in which all kinds of vegetables

are growing, ranging from lettuce to tomatoes and eggplants.

These hard-working farmers are the owners of this rooftop farm.

They are not professional farmers.

They all have their respective professions but gather in this farm on the weekend for

their crops.

With membership fees of 10 to 50 US dollars, everyone can become a farmer and enjoy nature's

abundance.

"It feels like I'm on a treasure hunt, and I'm very proud of the crops I planted."

"To me, farming is more like enjoying a walk than working.

Along the way, I get delicious, fresh and healthy food."

The rooftop farm produces enough crops for the members to share, but in fact, it's

not the best place for farming.

In usual rooftop farms, farmers build garden beds or spread soil on the ground to raise

crops.

Both methods have some challenges.

Nevertheless, those difficulties are incomparable with the joy of planting, growing and harvesting

crops.

These urban farmers not only raise crops here; they also cultivate friendship and happiness

with the fellow farmers.

"Through the act of farming, we hope to encourage the public to think more about nature, healthy

food, Korea's native specialties and the local food movement.

We pursue diverse activities to highlight those issues."

Urban farming is popular in many countries around the world.

Germany, for instance, encourages urban farming on a national scope, mainly flowers, beyond

its title as Europe's industrial powerhouse.

Also, each state government in the United States has enacted some ordinances to form

the best environment for the citizens to cultivate crops.

As of 2016, the number of urban farmers in Korea was at 1.5 million, more than tenfold

compared to the figure of 2010.

There's one critical reason why urban farming has become such an important issue throughout

the world.

"Korea is a small country with high population density, so many conditions are unfavorable

for farming.

Nonetheless, Korean agriculture is known for its intensive methods and added value.

Based on those strengths, I believe farming will fuel the happiness of urban dwellers.

I call agriculture the "business of happiness," and it is sure to boost our quality of life

dramatically.

Some farmers are now trying to make profits by farming, pushing it beyond a hobby.

And they are here in Haengchon , central Seoul.

Run by 23 urban farmers in the neighborhood, this farm received an official certification

as an urban farming community last year.

Their first goal was to build a farm that fulfilled their purpose.

With a large outdoor farm 230m2(meter square) in size and 140 garden beds, every nook of

the neighborhood is used as farmland.

These farmers grow their own plants from seeds.

Earlier this year, they planted and raised a total of 50 thousand seedlings and made

some profit.

"As for this year, we raised and sold seedlings worth approximately US$5,000.

The members also grew crops from those seedlings in their gardens or garden beds and made extra

profits."

They also opted for plants with high yields for small spaces, like herbs and chrysanthemums.

100 stocks of chrysanthemums, which will be in full bloom soon, are set to be supplied

to the local borough office.

Also, a total of 14 medical herbs and crops are currently under cultivation tests.

All members are novice farmers, but they all have years of experience growing plants and

garden beds.

They received adequate training to learn how to plant and grow herbs and other medicinal

plants to become real farmers in the city.

They set some principles they must follow regarding farming with a strong sense of professionalism.

"As soon as we enlarge our cultivation area and secure a sufficient yield, we hope to

create a model for the 6th Industrialization of Urban Agriculture, which includes processing

for commercial packaging."

Urban farmers strive to produce healthy food and make their cities green.

They are not only cultivating crops, they are cultivating hope in the city for the future

generations.

S. Korean Navy holds unprecedented joint naval drill with U.S. involving three U.S. aircraft ... - Duration: 1:48.

Three U.S. aircraft carriers joined the South Korean Navy for a combined exercise in the

East Sea on Sunday,... in an unprecedented show of force against North Korea's military

provocations.

The first-of-their-kind drills showcased the allies' strengthened extended deterrence against

Pyongyang.

Kim Hyo-sun tells us more.

The South Korean Navy held a joint naval drill with the United States involving three U.S.

aircraft carriers off the country's eastern coast on Sunday.

Seoul's military said the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt entered

the East Sea for an unprecedented three-carrier exercise.

This is the first time three U.S. aircraft carriers have joined the combined drills with

the South Korean Navy.

It also marks the first large-scale joint exercise since the leaders of South Korea

and the U.S. agreed to increase the rotational deployment of U.S. strategic assets on and

around the Korean Peninsula during their summit in Seoul last week.

In this light,... Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the four-day maneuvers are aimed

at enhancing the credibility of extended deterrence against North Korea's nuclear and missile

provocations.

Meanwhile,... the Japanese daily, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, reported Sunday that the separate

drills between Seoul-Washington and Tokyo-Washington are the result of South Korea's refusal to

hold a joint naval drill among South Korea, Japan and the U.S.

It explained that, while Washington had suggested the trilateral drills,...

Seoul refused the proposal, citing public sentiment against Japan's Self-Defense Forces

entering waters near the Korean Peninsula.

Alibaba Singles' Day hits a new sales record this year - Duration: 2:01.

It was China's version of Black Friday on November 11th,... also celebrated as Singles'

Day.

And Chinese shoppers didn't miss out on their chance -- spending a record 25 billion U.S.

dollars on that day alone.

As signs of a thaw emerge in Seoul-Beijing relations,... with the two leaders even promising

to normalize the ties,...

Korean companies were able to enjoy their decent share of the action as well.

Our Park Hee-jun has the details.

China's Singles' Day has surprised the world once again.

Year after year, the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba breaks its own sales record on November

11th,... the world's biggest retail event.

Last year, it processed sales worth 17-point-8 billion US dollars, which this year has grown

to an astounding 25-point-4 billion.

It's not just consumers from China but almost every country in the world buying things ranging

from shoes and clothing, to liquor, electronics, and diamonds,... at a rate of 256-thousand

transactions per second.

As soon as the event began at midnight, Alibaba's live sales ticker registered sales of a billion

dollars within 3 minutes.

And in just one hour, the sales ticker registered 10 billion,... reflecting the enormous purchasing

power of Chinese consumers.

This year, in terms of China's purchases from abroad, Korea was the country with the fifth

highest sales, following Japan, the United States, Australia, and Germany.

Korean distributors, including cosmetics companies, domestic airlines, department stores, and

duty-free operators,... carried out active online promotions ahead of Singles' Day, mainly

to make up their losses from China's unofficial sanctions against them.

Among the Korean retailers, E-Land Group posted the highest sales during the 24 hour period,

with over 68-and-a-half million dollars.

Although Korea ranked two places lower than it did last year,... it's considered a positive

result that signals a slow recovery in the distribution sector.

Former President Lee blasts probes into political maneuvering scandals - Duration: 2:15.

The man suspected of masterminding illicit online activities to influence politics has

spoken on camera for the first time since the allegations broke.

Former President Lee Myung-bak, speaking out about the prosecutors' investigation net closing

in around him,... said it was 'political retribution' against the previous conservative administrations.

Kim Hyesung reports.

Before leaving for the Middle East Sunday to deliver a lecture, former President Lee

Myung-bak commented on the ongoing probes into alleged political meddling during his

term.

(Korean) "While watching the new administration's anti-corruption

campaign over the last six months, I have started to question whether they are reforms

or a form of political retribution.

Our nation faces a diplomatic and security crisis right now.

I believe that such an indiscriminate, unfair investigation into the military and intellegience

organizations only undermines our security."

The National Intelligence Service and the military are under investigation for allegedly

using operatives to post comments online supporting former President Lee Myung-bak and criticing

the opposition camp... in violation of rules about political neutrality.

While Lee criticized the probe, he did not answer questions about whether he ordered

the cyberwarfare unit to spread pro-government propaganda during his term between 2008 and

2013.

His former presidential spokesman Lee Dong-kwan, who was accompanying Lee on four-day trip

to Bahrain, came to his defense, saying that as president he would have been far too busy

to get involved in such a scheme and that no government would give such an order.

The probe has been picking up speed.

On Saturday, former defense minister Kim Kwan-jin was arrested over his possible link to the

cyber warfare command's online activities.

Kim reportedly told the prosecution that the order came directly from his boss at the time,

President Lee.

These events have prompted petitions calling for a travel ban on the former leader, with

over 75 thousand people signing online as of Sunday morning.

Following Lee's comments Sunday, liberal political parties in Korea issued statements criticizing

him and called for a thorough investigation.
