Lovers in Bloom | 木槿花开了 | 무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다 - Ep.114 [SUB : ENG,CHN,IND / 2017.11.09] - Duration: 34:07.

What were you talking about earlier?

Sir.

The witness said

the real culprit was a tall, thin young man.

And?

The day your husband died,

Bora also got into an accident in her brother's car.

There's a record of Bora's surgery

but not of her accident?

And Jin Dohyeon left Korea the very next day.

So

the tall, thin young man

was Mr. Jin Dohyeon?

Did

Mr. Jin Dohyeon really kill Uri's dad?

That's what it looks like for now.

That can't be...

My brother... What about Suhyeok then?

What about Suhyeok?

Tell Suhyeok the truth.

In any case, it wasn't Bora's fault.

They will be fine.

With the person you love by your side,

you can overcome any challenge.

(Episode 114)

Sit, sit.

I'm not that hungry.

Sit.

You must eat well especially at times like this.

Have just a spoonful for my sake.

You'll get sick if you sleep on an empty stomach.

Thank you.

I went to the seafood market to get this.

Here.

It's very good.

Should I tell you an interesting story?

You and Officer Moo must be meant to be.

The little girl that saved Grandma's life

came to our restaurant today.

Geez, Huijin. You must start from the beginning.

You see, what happened is,

on her way back from the sauna,

Grandmother almost fainted from dizziness.

But a little girl appeared

and saved Grandma.

And she turned out to be Officer Moo's daughter.

Pardon?

What?

What are you talking about?

How long have you known?

Geez, Mother.

How long could we have known?

We were shocked too when Huijin told us

Officer Moo's daughter came to the restaurant.

Why her of all people?

Looks like he and Officer Moo's fates are intertwined.

What are you talking about?

These coincidences keep happening.

And given his personality, he won't see anyone else.

Forget all that. Go to bed.

Why is that child her daughter of all people?

How's Grandmother?

What do you think?

Just astounded of course.

How are things with you?

I couldn't call lest I might bother you.

The waiting was killing me, you squirt.

I submitted a request, so it should work out.

Despite being your father, I can't be of any help.

Dad.

But is it true what your mom said?

Was Chairman Jin's son really behind it?

It looks like it.

Your mom said it was because of Officer Moo.

Officer Moo's brother's married to his sister.

Really?

I know what you're worried about,

but there's no need to worry.

It's fine.

Officer Moo seems to be alright.

I like her.

Tell Suhyeok the truth.

In any case, it wasn't Bora's fault.

They will be fine.

With the person you love by your side,

you can overcome any challenge.

Did you raid the market?

Why'd you get so much?

Your mom's money-crazed these days, saying

she must be rich to be a beloved grandma.

Geez. And so we can travel to Europe too.

Are you heading out already?

For exercise.

I want to start the day with gusto like you.

Have breakfast before you go.

We got tons of food.

I can have your delicious lunch later.

Senior Inspector Lee's craving your boxed lunch.

I'm off.

- Okay. / - Bye.

Isn't Senior Inspector Lee that tanned guy

we saw at the clothing store?

Yes.

Do you think he might be interested in you?

You and your outlandish theories.

Let's just prepare the veggies.

You're clean.

I went to the sauna.

Did Juyeong sleep there?

Yes.

Sorry about yesterday.

Do you want coffee?

Sit.

I agonized all night

about whether to tell you this.

Because I took it hard too.

But I think you need to know.

What is it?

There's a reason Bora's being like this.

What is that reason?

Moo Gunghwa!

Okay, I'll tell you.

You said Bora was in an accident, right?

The day Yunjae died?

I only found out recently too

that Cheon Yangbae wasn't the real culprit.

What are you talking about?

It appears Chairman Jin made Cheon

turn himself in to save his son,

whom he sent away to the States.

Wait.

So what you're saying is

Dohyeon was the real culprit?

That's what it looks like.

How can this be...

I don't know what to say to you.

Are you okay?

No. How could you be okay?

Truth is, I feel I'm about to go mad.

I want to run over to Jin Dohyeon right now

and yell at him or something.

But we don't have any evidence,

so he won't admit to it.

You look after Bora for now.

Why couldn't that fool just tell me?

Would it have been easy for you if you were her?

It was hard even for me to tell you.

Being hard on you must have been

even harder on her than you.

Jin Bora.

(Suhyeok)

Here.

I warmed it up,

so drink it before it gets cold.

You know you must drink a lot of milk

and have all kinds of nutritious foods now, right?

Thank you, Mom.

Your phone seems to be ringing.

It must be Suhyeok.

Please help me

quickly finalize my divorce with him.

Is that what you really want?

Are you sure you won't regret it?

I beg you, Mom.

I'm going to see Bora's mother-in-law today.

I don't think this is right, but alas.

Bora's suffering so much that she can't even eat,

but she insists on a divorce.

You seem to have decided to let them divorce.

I'm sure they're shellshocked as it is.

Shouldn't we show them a little courtesy?

So I can go end things, right?

If you want to.

You must not have slept.

Did you get some sleep?

Yes.

I told Suhyeok today.

That's good.

Are you okay?

Yes, I'm okay.

Congratulations.

Pardon? About what?

You're so blatantly coy.

Do you think I'm stupid?

I told you I'd be cool and walk away.

Anyway, it's a relief

Inspector Cha looks cheerful despite everything.

Although my heart still aches,

good luck, Moo Gunghwa.

I'm rooting for you.

It's quite nippy now in the morning and night.

It's November.

So boxed lunches will be back today, right?

How did you know?

I saw the notice on the website.

You can look forward to it.

Mom got tons of groceries at the crack of dawn.

Okay. Very nice.

What are you doing?

Hang on, sir.

3, 2, 1.

- Of course. / - Good morning, everybody.

You're an open book, so no wonder you lost

a culprit you caught.

Why are you giving me a hard time this early?

Sir, are you reporting to work here now?

It won't be long until I return.

Watch out, all of you.

Inspector Cha.

You too, Officer Moo.

Yes, sir.

What is it?

Only the Chamsuri 3 for now.

The remaining two can wait.

What about me?

Oh... You're the captain of course.

You're too old to be included.

Too old?

You're not much younger than me. Geez.

What did you find?

It was an illegally registered car.

I couldn't track it down.

I knew it.

What's going on?

We caught Spotty 3 nights ago but lost him.

Inspector Cha had even cuffed him,

but I let my guard down.

Pardon?

A mistake like this uncharacteristic of me.

Stop blaming yourself.

What happened?

While Inspector Cha went to get the car,

a group of men suddenly attacked me,

and a waiting van

took Spotty away like a kidnapping.

I checked all the nearby CCTVs, and it's fishy

that there's no trace of them.

Did Mr. Jin Dohyeon kidnap Spotty?

It wasn't detectives,

and it was like a kidnapping,

so who else could it be?

I didn't think he was capable of such a thing.

One sin leads to another.

He can't help it as he's trying to protect himself.

Thank you.

Excuse us. Were you here on Tuesday?

Yes. I only sell here on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We'd like to ask for your cooperation.

We'd like to check your dashboard cam.

Sure.

Suhyeok.

Suhyeok, we won the grand prize.

Dami Planning, Moo Suhyeok and Son Juyeong.

You and I won the grand prize.

I checked earlier.

Then why didn't you tell me?

You knew I was desperately awaiting the news.

Congratulations, Son Juyeong.

Good job. This is all thanks to you.

What are you talking about?

I merely tagged along for the ride.

Wow. Who knew such a day would come?

We should share the good news with your mom.

Bora still hasn't called?

No.

I called hundreds of times, but nothing.

I'm stepping out.

(Grand Prize: Dami Planning, Moo Suhyeok & Son Juyeong)

Bora, we won the grand prize.

But Suhyeok doesn't look happy at all.

Shouldn't you be by his side for this?

Shouldn't you go home and rest

since you have to go to the precinct tomorrow?

I'm fine.

Hi, Mom.

I feel bad,

but I can't go get Uri as something came up.

Okay. I'll go as soon as I get off work.

Don't worry.

Don't mind me and go.

Uri will be waiting.

Make sure you eat.

I will.

What do we do?

Things at the Audit Board don't look good.

I hope it's just a rumor, but it appears

the hearing tomorrow is just perfunctory

and they're set on letting you go.

What do we do?

Senior Inspector Hwang.

How about a drink when you're done? Okay.

The decision must've been made.

So I was told.

I feel sorry for Cha Taejin.

He was a good cop, rare in this day and age.

What are you implying?

Can't I say I feel sorry for him at least?

He was framed and is getting dismissed.

I get flustered by your brutal honesty these days.

Anyway, congratulations, Jin Dohyeon.

Shouldn't we drink to that?

Suhyeok, hurry over to Now Cooking.

I texted Bora, and she wants

me to come

as she has something for you.

What is that?

Is it a congratulatory gift for me?

All I need is you, Jin Bora.

I'll give up everything.

You asked me

if I could give up everything for you.

Yes. I'll do that.

Let's just think about you, me, and the baby.

Who is it?

Hello.

What brings you here?

You know who I am, right?

Are you here about Bora?

I figured we had to tie up loose ends.

But they have a baby.

It shouldn't be decided like this.

What can we do?

This is what Bora wants.

That aside,

you know Dohyeon has strong feelings for you, right?

But that's causing many people grief.

Who is it?

Officer Moo, you heard, right?

They won the grand prize. The grand prize!

So I couldn't just sit at home...

Why are you here?

I'll come back some other time.

Please let your mother know I came by.

Goodbye.

Do you know her?

She's Taejin's birth mom.

Geez. You poor sod.

Jin Dohyeon.

You don't care that Bora loves

someone else or was married,

but she still doesn't want you.

You endured all those years,

letting my dad walk all over you

and humoring me too,

but alas.

You even let me beat you up.

Even if the world derides me,

I don't think you don't have the right to.

Fine.

I put up with everything for Bora.

But you find that laughable?

You feel sorry for me?

I feel sorrier for you.

Sure. You can get Cha Taejin fired.

But can you go to Officer Moo?

Can you stand before Uri,

whom you dote on so much?

I'm warning you.

Don't ever overstep your bounds like this again

if you want to make a living as a lawyer.

Did you and Dohyeon fight?

I have nothing on him.

He's the big wig of Seoul Corp now

who can fire me in a blink of an eye.

You asked me if there's a way to save Inspector Cha.

Mr. Jin Dohyeon's at our house.

I'm sorry,

but he's here today as Bora's brother,

so I can't really ask him to leave.

Okay.

You understand, right?

In any case, what you're saying is

that I should leave.

So Suhyeok's with Bora right now?

Yes.

Bora said she got a gift for Suhyeok.

I think the situation has been resolved.

Good.

Congratulations, Ms. Lee.

Congratulations to you too, Juyeong.

I'd like to congratulate everyone too.

Congratulations, Ms. Lee.

You too.

Our sons have finally done it.

Yes, they have.

I felt bad seeing them working away

in that tiny cave-like office.

I haven't had a chance to tell you,

but I felt awful he had to sleep there.

No, no. Please don't say that.

Juyeong won this prize thanks to your son.

Thank you.

Juyeong, be good to your boss.

Mom, I'm stepping out for a bit.

See you again.

I had something to tell Officer Moo.

What?

Um...

Did you know Uri is friends with my mother-in-law?

Pardon?

Senior Inspector Lee.

What's wrong with Inspector Cha?

The hearing tomorrow is perfunctory,

and they've basically decided to fire him.

Those scumbags.

So there's no other way?

After the decision's made,

we should petition or figure something out.

Look after Inspector Cha, Officer Moo.

Yes, sir.

Inspector Cha.

Do you know who I am?

I'm fine.

Cha Taejin! Come to your senses.

You did nothing wrong.

So why are you hanging your head low

and angering me?

Was this all my man amounted to?

You're someone who fills me with pride.

Yet you'll just crumble?

Inspector Cha,

this isn't like you.

Go.

I'm fine, so go.

No, I'm not going.

I'm staying by your side until the day I die.

You said

you can overcome any challenge

with the person you love by your side.

I'm here by your side.

I love you.

Đài Loan Diễu Binh "Hoành Tráng" Hơn Cả Trung Quốc - Tổng hợp tin nóng | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 8:39.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

China tells the US,

hey you kids get off my territorial waters!

Nothing like a little public humiliation

to encourage people to pay their debts.

And finally Hong Kong just went Hong Wrong...again

This is China Uncensored.

Hi, welcome to China Uncensored,

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

In our top story,

yes China and the US are both concerned about North Korea.

But they're still also maybe slightly worried

about each other.

Kind of like when the X-Men

have to team up with Magneto

to save mutantkind.

That ends perfectly well, right?

On Tuesday,

a US warship sailed through the South China Sea,

close to a string of reefs and shoals

called the Paracel Islands.

Now China says those reefs are Chinese territory.

Vietnam says they're Vietnamese territory.

The US says they're in international waters—

and if you have a problem with that,

come argue with our warship.

The Chinese Communist Party was not pleased.

And this is a particularly sensitive time.

Next week is the 19th Party Congress,

a once every five year meeting of top Communist Party leaders.

It's a huge propaganda event,

and the Party likes to look strong.

Rise and shine, Xi Jinping!

I would not want to be the cameraman who filmed that

and released it to the world.

But you know what else makes the CCP look even weaker

than the core leader asleep on the job?

A US warship challenging their territorial claims.

Like it does on a regular basis.

The Chinese regime may not be happy about it.

But they'd better play nice,

because Donald Trump is coming to town next month.

Trump is planning to make his first presidential visit there in November.

I'm sure by then the whole sailing a warship

through Chinese-slash-international waters thing

will have blown over.

That US warship isn't coming back…

until probably a month or two after Trump's visit.

And on to lighter issues:

North Korea's nuclear weapons.

Trump has been trying to pressure the Chinese regime

to help stop North Korea.

Meanwhile, Chinese state-run media is asking

the US and North Korea to just "cool it, ok?"

But the reason they're asking everyone to calm down

could be more about the Chinese regime's embarrassment.

Because it turns out,

they don't have as much power over North Korea

as they'd like the world to think they do.

But they also don't want the US to invade of North Korea.

Then China would have the US military

right up against the Chinese border.

Plus in the South China Sea.

That's why the Chinese military has been getting...

a facelift, ahead of the Party Congress.

I hope it's better than Joan Rivers' facelift.

Seriously, though -

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has spent the past several years

purging political rivals in the military.

In fact,

there's been a huge turnover of top military officials.

Xi's also attempting to transform the PLA

into a streamlined modern military.

This includes becoming a global arms dealer.

We'll have more on that later.

But at least when it comes to military drones,

President Trump is looking to counter China.

China wants to dominate the 10-billion-dollar global drone market,

but Trump wants to put America first…

in the exporting of killer drones.

"Washington will also seek to renegotiate

a 1987 missile-control pact

with the aim of loosening international restrictions

on U.S. exports of unmanned aircraft."

Whether China is going to be successful

at truly transforming their military

is hard to tell.

But one thing is clear:

It's Taiwan's military that the rest of the world

needs to look out for.

The Chinese Communist Party is no stranger

to using parades to showcase its military.

But nothing can compare to the parade

Taiwan just held for its National Day.

I think we all might need a second

to absorb that more fully.

Yes, if ever you wanted more proof

that Taiwan and China are very different countries,

just think about whether their soldiers

look like they want to kill you

or choreograph dances with you.

Speaking of things under threat in China:

cash.

Gone are the days of paying with paper money,

like some old fogey.

Or credit cards,

like some loser from the 2000s.

In China,

it's all the rage now to pay with your mobile phone.

"Mobile payment volume in the country

more than doubled to $5 trillion in 2016."

Yes, apparently China found a use for QR codes.

Why has paying with your phone

become so popular in China?

It could be convenience.

It could also be

that it gives Chinese companies like Tencent,

"access to hordes of personal data.

That data can then be shared with the Chinese government."

Or maybe it's a little of both.

Who says you can't have oppression and convenience?

But when talking about convenient payments,

you have to talk about the most convenient payment method of all—

not paying.

China is plagued by big companies

with connections to local governments

running up huge debts and then never paying them back.

Well, that's about to change.

No no, just kidding.

But what is changing is how the Chinese regime

will go after small time debtors.

Down with the underdog!

Punish the poor!

Prepare to be publically shamed!

The CCP has told local authorities

"to establish online platforms to expose debtors

who fail to honor their credit obligations."

For quite some time now,

there's been a trend in China of using public humiliation

to go after individuals who can't pay their debts.

Billboards that name names.

Local officials who will bombard debtors

with phone messages telling them to pay up.

Blacklisting them from getting on planes

and high speed trains.

Public humiliation, really,

is a proud tradition of the Chinese Communist Party,

dating back to the dunce caps of the Cultural Revolution.

But the days of being humiliated

in front of a crowd are gone.

Now, you can be humiliated

in front of the entire country!

Because authorities said the online shaming platforms

should be "maintained by local news organizations."

And who needs rule of law when you've got trial by media.

And in other news,

if you've been watching China Uncensored for a while,

you'll know we've made two trips to Hong Kong.

Once in 2014 to cover the Umbrella Movement.

And just last year

to interview activists like Joshua Wong.

The two of us are ready for Broadway!

If they hadn't put Joshua in jail.

Times are changing in Hong Kong.

The Chinese regime recently rejected

the joint declaration that is the basis for Hong Kong freedoms

denied in the Mainland.

And of course expelling democratically elected lawmakers

because the Communist Party doesn't like them.

Well, most recently,

British activist and friend of the show Benedict Rogers

was denied entry into Hong Kong.

Which like many heavy-handed things done by the CCP,

will totally not backfire on them.

Like by causing huge amounts of negative publicity.

Or inspiring Rogers to set up a new NGO

that will monitor Hong Kong's human rights situation.

Is it a coincidence that Rogers,

"who is vocal in criticizing China

and advocating for democracy in Hong Kong",

…was stopped at the Hong Kong airport

just a week before the CCP's 19th Party Congress?

Not sure,

but I have a feeling I won't be able to do any

on the ground reporting about it in Hong Kong.

Shelley, would you like to go?

No?

Sure you would.

And coming up after the break,

just when you thought lasting peace

between India and China had been achieved,

India's defense minister does the unthinkable.

What are you doing still here?

The show's over!

I know, you're not ready to say goodbye.

Okay, go over to china Uncensored.tv.

There you'll see more great episodes of China Uncensored,

including full half hour episodes you won't see anywhere else.

I'm already there waiting for you.

No specifics yet on U.S. arms sales to S. Korea: Acting U.S. Ambassador - Duration: 0:49.

U.S. president Donald Trump said Seoul agreed to purchase billions of dollars worth of military

equipment from Washington.

So far no specifics have been arranged.

That's according to the acting US ambassador to South Korea, Marc Knapper at a meeting

with reporters on Thursday.

Although Trump discussed the sale of the American hardware with President Moon Jae-in, they

were unable to get into the details... given the limited time he had in Seoul.

Knapper noted there are still existing orders to be filled, such as the F-35 fighters.

But Seoul needs to make decisions on other items, such as Apache helicopters, the Aegis

radar system.... and the P-8 naval aircraft.

The acting ambassador added, overall, Trump's visit was a success, as it helped deepen the

relationship between the two countries and their leaders.

How to Turn Referrals into Introductions - Duration: 6:41.

Bill Cates here and I need to remind you of something.

Referrals are worthless.

Yeah, you heard me right.

The referral coach said referral marketing or having a referral program is worthless,

unless what?

Unless you get connected to your new prospect.

Unless that prospect contacts you or you get introduced to them.

Now there was a time when we could get a name and a phone number and actually reach prospects

over the phone and go from there.

But these days, not so much.

It's hard enough reaching our clients let alone prospects who may have never heard of

us.

To get on someone's radar, to cut through all the noise in the marketplace, we need

to get introduced.

We want to create engaged introductions.

Now the first step in securing a solid, engaged introduction is to learn as much as you can

about your new prospect.

The more you learn about the prospect, the more you and your referral source can craft

a compelling reason why this new prospect should meet with you.

In addition to the list of things you would already like to know about the prospect that's

related to your particular business, here is a very powerful question for you to have

on your list.

Ask your referral source, "What's going on in their world that's most important to them

right now?"

Let me repeat that.

"What's going on in his world, her business, their life, that's most important to them

at this moment?"

If you can link the work that you do that's most important to them, you have a very compelling

reason for them to take your call and even set an in-person appointment with you.

Without a compelling reason, it's hard to get people to notice you.

Oftentimes your referral source is just about the only way you can discover this critical

piece of information.

What's most important to him, her, them?

I believe that crafting the introduction should be a collaborative process between you and

the referral source.

Sometimes your referral source knows exactly what to say to their friend, family member,

or colleague, to put you in the most favorable light that peak that person's interest in

hearing from you.

Sometimes they have no clue on how to grab the prospect's attention in a way that opens

them up to speaking with you.

I've seen many people adept at getting referrals only to have their process break down when

converting the referral into an introduction.

As far as I'm concerned, a referral doesn't count until it's actionable, until I know

someone has heard good things about me and is expecting to hear from me.

When the Food and Drug Administration evaluates a new drug for approval in the marketplace,

the criteria it uses is this, "Is the drug safe and is it effective?"

Safe and effective.

This is how we need to think about introductions.

We need to create safe introductions.

The introduction needs to feel safe or comfortable to both client providing the introduction

and the prospect receiving the introduction.

And the introduction needs to be effective.

You need to establish a quality connection with the prospect.

"George, I appreciate your willingness to introduce me to a couple of your colleagues

in your CEO study group.

Let's take just a minute to craft an introduction that will feel safe and comfortable to both

you and your colleagues and, of course, creates an effective connection.

I suspect they would prefer to hear from you before they hear from me, much like Donna

introduced me to you."

Here are five overarching principles you want to always have in mind to help you create

the most effective, engaged introductions.

1.

Be assumptive for the introduction.

Now I don't believe you should ever assume someone is willing to give you referrals.

That's too aggressive.

However, once a client is open to recommending you to one or more people, you should assume

that the introduction will be created.

2.

Make it collaborative.

As I've always stated, creating the introduction should be a joint effort between you and the

referral source.

When you work on this together, you'll get the best introduction possible and the referral

source will become more invested in making sure the introduction goes through.

3.

Make it about protecting the relationships.

You heard how I addressed this in my short script.

We want an introduction that feels safe to all parties concerned and don't force a particular

method of introduction onto your referral source.

Collaborate to create a method that best fits their existing relationships.

4.

Take your time.

Don't rush through this.

Get a good introduction.

If you legitimately run out of time in a meeting, finish up over the phone or over a thank you

lunch.

Slow down.

Be confident.

Get connected in an effective manner.

5.

A referral doesn't count unless it's actionable.

I can't emphasize this point enough.

For most businesses most of the time, referrals and word of mouth just aren't enough anymore

to create exponential growth.

We need to think in terms of introductions.

Once we're introduced, we can become proactive with a new prospect.

Anything short of that is wishing and hoping.

From now on with your prospects, clients, and centers of influence, favor the word introductions.

You can say, "Let's see if we can craft an introduction that will feel comfortable to

both you and Jessica, that peaks her interest in hearing from me."

Since email is a very prevalent way to make an introduction, check out my video that addresses

creating email introductions.

Korea unveils US$ 2.7 billion plan to support small firms after minimum wage hike - Duration: 2:09.

Korea's minimum wage is set to rise sharply next year.

The goal is to provide greater financial security to low-income earners while also helping to

boost the economy.

But business owners are deeply concerned... the cost will be immense, even crippling for

some firms.

Which is why the government announced a multi-billion-dollar plan to help soften the blow.

Kim Hyesung explains how it works.

Korea's minimum wage is set to increase by 16 percent next year to over seven-thousand-five-hundred

won, or six-dollars-70 cents an hour,... marking the biggest annual jump in almost two decades.

To help support small businesses cope with the increase in labor costs, Finance Minister

Kim Dong-yeon unveiled the government's support plan on Thursday.

(Korean) "Income inequality has grown rapidly recently,

and it's holding back domestic consumption and growth.

The minimum wage hike can foster income-led growth, and we've laid out a support fund

worth three trillion Korean won to help small businesses."

The government plans to directly fund small businesses where around 80 percent of workers

get paid less than the minimum wage.

Small businesses employing fewer than 30 people will get around 117 dollars per worker a month

in government support.

It will be limited to workers earning less than 1,700 dollars a month, which would be

less than 120 percent of minimum wage monthly income or 1,400 dollars.

Small businesses earning more than 550-thousand dollars a year in taxable income will not

be eligible for the subsidies.

(Korean) "For businesses that hire apartment security

guards or cleaners, where layoffs are a concern due to the minimum wage hike, we will still

provide them with funds, even if they employ more than 30 people."

To get the subsidy, businesses will need to meet two criteria: pay their workers the minimum

wage and also apply for employment insurance.

The subsidy plan is set for 2018 only, and still needs to be approved by the budget committee

at the National Assembly.

Pres. Moon attends 'S. Korea-Indonesia business forum,' stresses need for econmic and... - Duration: 2:28.

We begin in Jakarta, where President Moon Jae-in met with business big wigs of both

nations.

The massive forum was held just before his summit with his Indonesian counterpart.

Hwang Hojun has more from the "South Korea-Indonesia Business Roundtable and Summit."

A day after his arrival in Jakarta,... the first destination of his eight-day Southeast

Asia tour,...

President Moon attended the biggest business forum between Korea and Indonesia... since

the two countries established bilateral ties.

About 400 Korean and Indonesian business leaders were in attendance,... including some prominent

figures including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO Yoon Boo-keun,...

Hyundai Motor President Jeong Jin-haeng,... the presidents of Korea and Indonesia's chambers

of commerce,... and Indonesia's industry minister.

During the forum, President Moon stressed the need to upgrade Korea's long-standing

partnership with Indonesia.

(KOREAN) ed: devin "I propose that our two countries take on

greater challenges and dream bigger dreams together.

I propose that we build a partnership that goes beyond our bilateral trade relations

and blaze trails together in the ASEAN and global markets."

( , . .)

And to reach that goal,...

President Moon pointed out some key cooperation tasks, including a gradual reorganization

of joint economic consultative bodies,... diversifing the areas of economic cooperation,...

expanding support for collaboration between Korean and Indonesian SMEs,... and last but

not least, expanding the trade volume between Seoul and Jakarta.

He even pledged to support next year's Asian Games hosted in Jakarta... with 5G wireless

communication technology.

The President also said he's seeking to transform Korea's relationship with the ASEAN nations...

and bring it up to equal standing... as that of Seoul's ties with other major powers.

Which is why, President Moon introduced his administration's so-called "New Southern Policy,"...

which seeks to improve diplomatic and economic ties between Seoul and its Southeast Asian

neighbors.

According to a Blue House official,... the newly coined policy would be the counterpart

of the "New Northern Policy" that seeks to reinforce economic cooperation with Russia

and other nations in Eurasia,... which President Moon mentioned when he visited Vladivostok

in September.

The official said that the two frontiers.... of expanding economic and diplomatic ties

with countries and intergovernmental organizations... will become a significant path to establish

peace and prosperity in the region.

U.S., Chinese presidents show similar but different views on N. Korea, trade - Duration: 3:17.

Shifting our focus to U.S. President Donald Trump's Asia tour.

Day 1 of his stay in Beijing was all about soaking in the culture through cuisines and

performances, but today it was all business.

Trump and Xi touched on trade and the North Korean threat.

Oh Jung-hee fills us in on what was discussed.

Day two of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China,... was a jam-packed day for the

two countries' leaders.

The day's events also showed their similar but different approaches to the issues of

North Korea and economic relations.

At the joint news conference held Thursday afternoon,... the two leaders showed their

commitment to denuclearizing North Korea and agreed on the need to fully implement the

UN Security Council resolutions.

They also saw eye-to-eye in the need for relevant parties to pour their collective efforts into

achieving peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and surrounding region.

But they still had diverging views on how to achieve the ultimate goal -- President

Trump stressing sanctions and pressure,... and President Xi emphasizing dialogue and

negotiation.

(Chinese) "The two sides will continue to fully and

strictly implement the UN Security Council resolutions, at the same time, the two sides

will commit to work toward a solution through dialogue and negotiation."

(English) "We agreed on the need to fully implement

all UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea and to increase economic pressure until

North Korea abandons its reckless and dangerous path."

At an event before the news conference to promote business exchanges,... Trump has also

called on Xi to play a bigger role.

He said China can solve the North Korea issue (quote)"very easily and quickly"... and urged

Beijing to cut off all financial links with North Korea.

But on the economic front, the two leaders were eager to further advance their bilateral

trade and business ties.

At the event, Chinese companies signed business contracts and two-way investment deals with

the U.S. ...worth over 2-hundred-50 billion U.S. dollars.

Bloomberg reports,... most of the deals are likely to be concentrated in the energy sector.

But President Trump, just as he did with his Korean and Japanese counterparts,... brought

up the thorny issue of trade,... saying he wants a fair and reciprocal trade.

(English) "As we all know, America has a huge annual

trade deficit with China.

A number beyond anything what anybody would understand.

This number's shockingly hundreds of billions of dollars each year -- estimates are as high

as 500 billion dollars a year."

President Xi said...

China's investment in the U.S. is rising rapidly,... helping to create over 1-hundred-40-thousand

American jobs,... and added:

(Chinese) "These are some great examples of the vast

potential and the win-win nature of China-U.S. economic cooperation.

China-U.S. economic relations and trade ties have achieved historic development, delivering

benefits to our two peoples."

After his time with President Xi,... Trump met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang... to

discuss bilateral relations.

National Assembly to shift to three-party system after lawmakers defect from minor... - Duration: 2:38.

Back here in South Korea.

The National Assembly has become a more favorable environment for the opposition.

Several lawmakers from Bareun Party, the splinter bloc of Liberty Korea... have returned to

the main conservative group they chose to leave earlier this year.

With the defection, Bareun Party no longer has enough seats to qualify as a negotiating

bloc, meaning affairs in parliament will be decided by just three parties

Kim Min-ji has the latest from the domestic political arena.

Eight lawmakers that defected from the minor conservative Bareun Party have officially

rejoined the main opposition Liberty Korea Party.

In a press conference Thursday,... the lawmakers,... along with the Liberty Korea Party chair Hong

Joon-pyo,... stressed the need to unite the conservative bloc to keep the liberal government

in check.

"Politically, the dust hasn't quite settled yet,... but we will clear things up now and

come together... based on the people's hopes for us to keep this left-wing government from

running amok."

"I am here to uphold calls to stop the agenda of the Moon Jae-in government.

That's why we have become the first to join efforts to unite the conservative bloc."

The exodus comes just ten months since the Bareun party was launched... in a split from

the Liberty Korea Party following the power abuse scandal that led to the impeachment

of former President Park Geun-hye.

A ninth lawmaker, Joo Ho-young,... currently the Bareun Party's floor leader and acting

chair,... will join them after the minor party's national convention next Monday.

With that,... the main opposition party will have 116 seats in the 299 seat parliament.

That's only five seats fewer than the ruling Democratic Party of Korea -- which has 121.

The new paradigm will without a doubt cause some anxiety in the ruling bloc.

With the 2018 budget proposal pending... along with a string of other major bills,... it's

going to be extra important for the ruling party to get the opposition on the same page.

It'll have one party less to contend with,... but a diminished influence on the legislative

agenda.

(Standup) "The main opposition is already opposed to

most of the ruling party's policies,... so that gives the People's Party -- which holds

40 seats -- the deciding vote on almost all matters."

The ruling party has already called the lawmakers' reinstatement a political regrouping... that

has no cause or support from the people.

As for the Bareun Party,... it's expected to focus on building solidarity among the

eleven lawmakers it still has,... and highlight itself as a reformist conservative group,...

in contrast to the Liberty Korea Party.

Trump receives 'royal treatment' in Beijing - Duration: 1:57.

As it has been during the 2 previous visits of his Asia tour, a lot of attention is on

how the American leader is being welcomed by his host.

According to our Kim Mok-yeon Beijing takes the cake in that category.

In fact, it's being called the "imperial treatment," which includes some unprecedented honors.

Since U.S. President Donald Trump landed in China,...

Beijing has been rolling out the red carpet, giving the American leader the royal treatment.

As he and the first lady arrived in Beijing on Wednesday, they were greeted by a small

army of children waving American and Chinese flags as part of an elaborate welcoming ceremony.

They were then whisked to the Forbidden City where President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng

Liyuan gave the Trumps a personal tour of China's rich and ancient history.

The U.S. president and first lady were also given the honor of dining in the former seat

of emperors,... Trump becoming the first foreign leader to have an official dinner in the historic

venue since founding of the People's Republic in 1949.

China's Ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tiankai earlier stressed the importance and significance

of President Trump's visit, claiming that it would be a "state visit plus".

During the second day of the trip, President Xi welcomed Trump by holding a grand 15 minute

welcoming ceremony in Tiananmen Square, shutting down the usually busy traffic around the square.

Another piece of special treatment President Trump enjoyed in China was that he was able

to tweet during his trip.

Though China officially has blocked mainland access to Twitter and other global social

networking services since 2009, President Trump didn't seem to have any difficulty with

the ban, as he posted several tweets thanking the Chinese leader for his hospitality.

Ahead of Trump's arrival, China's Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zeguang said that the U.S.

President will be able to tweet as much as he wants, adding that China takes everything

into account regarding visits from foreign heads of state.
