Youtube daily Apr 26 2017

You've just been assigned a research paper by your professor and you are ready to get

going, but where do you start?

Most likely you've considered Google to begin your research and that't great.

However it is important to keep in mind there are limitations to Google and it should not

be your only discovery and access tool.

There are a number of frustrations that can occure when using Google.

Such as; being overwhelmed by the number of results, the time consuming and difficult

process of sorting through results, the lack of clarity and where sources originate from,

a limited set of amount of tools to sort information and paywalls.

There are also a number of benifits of using Google.

It is useful for up to date news it is a good tool for an introduction into a subject, it

has powerful advanced search options if used correctly and it is free.

After watching this video you will be able to recognize the limits of a Google search

and be able to think critically about the search process and the search results you

get.

Lets assume your research paper is focused on gun manufacturers.

There are a number of questions that might be pertinent to your research.

How many people are employed in the gun industry?

What are the leading companies manufacturing guns?

What is the annual revenue for the gun industry?

What role does the NRA play in the gun industry?

How many guns are sold each year?

If you and a friend do the same search in Google, you may be surprised to find out the

results can be very different.

There are a number of factors that affect the results you may get including your search

and internet activity history, as well as Google's PageRank algorithm, this is what

is known as a filter bubble.

Filter Bubbles are a result of your search history where an algorithm guesses what information

you want to see based on your past searches among other factors.

For example, here are the search results from two different computers using two different

search and browsing histories for the queries, Fire Arms Industry.

Everything you do online influences the results.

Keeping in mind the results returned by Google are not uniformed is important when beginning

the research process.

Additionally many students and users as a whole do not look beyond the first page of

Google's results.

This is problematic not only because it limits sources researchers seek to a small number

but also because of a combination of factors unnaturally shaped to the ones users see.

Including Google's algorithm which determines a sites relevance as a result.

Search engine optimization techniques and marketing techniques used to increase the

sites Google PageRanking.

With that in mind it is important to remember that the results provided by Google are not

omniscient.

Instead, it is important to think about the search results Google returns as an algorithmic

guess.

It is up to the researcher to understand the subjective nature of Google's searches and

finesse the results into something manageable and relevant to their project.

Often times students can get frustrated with Google's search results because there are

so many results which very wildly that they can not tell which results are useful for

their project.

There are however, ways to improve and narrow down the search results Google returns.

You may consider using quotation marks to search for exact phrases.

You might search within a specific site or you may consider using the variety of advanced

search tools provided by Google.

Whatever tactic you choose creating more manageable results is important in saving you both time

and frustration.

Using Google in a more deliberate way to find specific content is a good start.

And remember while Google is a great place to begin the research process, it should not

be the only data base you use.

Close Up: Eva Longoria As Charlotte Frost | Season 3 | EMPIRE - Duration: 1:05.

This is Charlotte Frost, head of the Gaming Commission.

When they asked me to do "Empire,"

I immediately said yes.

I didn't even know the character.

I'm just such a big fan of the show.

It was funny because the showrunner said,

your character's the head of the Las Vegas Gaming Commission.

She's a politician.

She kind of feels like a Sarah Palin.

Lucious, when Giuliana told me I had to come to New York,

I was prepared to be irked.

She's very stuffy, and everything's very, you know,

buttoned up, but once you start peeling back

the layers of Charlotte Frost, you see she's

not what it appears to be.

This crosses the threshold into interesting.

Interesting?

I do have a scene where I slap somebody,

so get ready for that.

I won't tell you who, but it is a Lyon.

[laughter]

What Are Fast Radio Bursts? A Big Mystery in Astronomy - Duration: 11:06.

You might think you're watching an educational channel, where I explain fascinating concepts

in space and astronomy, but that's not really what's going on here.

What's actually happening is that you're tagging along as I learn more and more about

new and cool things happening in the Universe.

I dig into them like a badger hiding a cow carcass, and we all get to enjoy the cache

of knowledge I uncover.

Okay, that analogy got a little weird.

Have you seen that video of badger hiding cow?

It's super cool.

Anyway, my point is fast radio bursts are the new cosmic whatzits confusing and baffling

astronomers, and now we get to take a front seat and watch them move through all stages

of process of discovery.

Stage 1: A strange new anomaly is discovered that doesn't fit any current model of the

cosmos.

For example, strange Boyajian's Star.

You know, that star that probably doesn't have an alien megastructure orbiting around

it, but astronomers can't rule that out just yet?

Stage 2: Astronomers struggle to find other examples of this thing.

They pitch ideas for new missions and scientific instruments.

No idea is too crazy, until it's proven to be too crazy.

Examples include dark matter, dark energy, and that idea that we're living in a

Stage 3: Astronomers develop a model for the thing, find evidence that matches their predictions,

and vast majority of the astronomical community comes to a consensus on what this thing is.

Like quasars and gamma ray bursts.

YouTuber's make their videos.

Textbooks are updated.

Balance is restored.

Today we're going to talk about Fast Radio Bursts.

They just moved from Stage 1 to Stage 2.

Let's dig in.

Fast radio bursts, or FRBs, or "Furbys" were first detected in 2007 by the astronomer

Duncan Lorimer from West Virginia University.

He was looking through an archive of pulsar observations.

Pulsars, of course, are newly formed neutron stars, the remnants left over from supernova

explosions.

They spin rapidly, blasting out twin beams of radiation.

Some can spin hundreds of times a second, so precisely you could set your watch to them.

In this data, Lorimer made a "that's funny" observation, when he noticed one blast of

radio waves that squealed for 5 milliseconds and then it was gone.

It didn't match any other observation or prediction of what should be out there, so

astronomers set out to find more of them.

Over the last 10 years, astronomers have found about 25 more examples of Fast Radio Bursts.

Each one only lasts a few milliseconds, and then fades away forever.

A one time event that can appear anywhere in the sky and only last for a couple milliseconds

and never repeats is not an astronomer's favorite target of study.

Actually, one FRB has been found to repeat, maybe.

The question, of course, is "what are they?".

And the answer, right now is, "astronomers have no idea."

In fact, until very recently, astronomers weren't ever certain they were coming from

space at all.

We're surrounded by radio signals all the time, so a terrestrial source of fast radio

bursts seems totally logical.

About a week ago, astronomers from Australia announced that FRBs are definitely coming

from outside the Earth.

They used the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (or MOST) in Canberra to gather

data on a large patch of sky.

Then they sifted through 1,000 terabytes of data and found just 3 fast radio bursts.

Three.

Since MOST is farsighted and can't perceive any radio signals closer than 10,000 km away,

the signals had to be coming outside planet Earth.

They were "extraterrestrial" in origin.

Right now, fast radio bursts are infuriating to astronomers.

They don't seem to match up with any other events we can see.

They're not the afterglow of a supernova, or tied in some way to gamma ray bursts.

In order to really figure out what's going on, astronomers need new tools, and there's

a perfect instrument coming.

Astronomers are building a new telescope called the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment

(or CHIME), which is under construction near the town of Penticton in my own British Columbia.

It looks like a bunch of snowboard halfpipes, and its job will be to search for hydrogen

emission from distant galaxies.

It'll help us understand how the Universe was expanding between 7 and 11 billion years

ago, and create a 3-dimensional map of the early cosmos.

In addition to this, it's going to be able to detect hundreds of fast radio bursts, maybe

even a dozen a day, finally giving astronomers vast pools of signals to study.

After the break, I'm going to run through the exotic ideas that could be causing fast

radio bursts, including an awesome idea for alien propulsion systems, but first I'd

like to thank some very special Patrons.

These people have been supporting us since December, 2013: Cole Palmer, Michael Freedman,

Bill Christian, Dennis Robertson, Craig Landon, Marko Zivanovic, John Gallant and Helge Bjorkhaug.

Thank you for over 3 years of support.

I couldn't do this without you and the rest of our 699 patrons for their generous support.

If you love what we're doing and want to help out, head over to patreon.com/universetoday

Once again, this episode of the Guide to Space is sponsored by the .space domain name.

Remember when you wanted to make a website and had to spend a whole night brainstorming

domain name after domain name, and everything was taken.

You had to misspell words, or just invent new words entirely just to get a domain name

that was available?

Well, those dark days are over, and now you can get a domain name that matches your interests,

at a reasonable price.

Like .space.

Go to www.launch.space, use the offer code GUIDETOSPACE, and you can get your own .space

domain for only $2.99 instead of the usual $9.99.

Thanks again to .space for sponsoring this episode.

Now, back to the show.

Fast radio bursts.

What are they?

Astronomers have no idea.

Seriously, if you've got a good suggestion, they'd be glad to hear it.

In these kinds of situations, astronomers generally assume they're caused by exploding

stars in some way.

Young stars or old stars, or maybe stars colliding.

But so far, none of the theoretical models match the observations.

Another idea is black holes, of course.

Specifically, supermassive black holes at the hearts of distant galaxies.

From time to time, a random star, planet, or blob of gas falls into the black hole.

This matter piles upon the black hole's event horizon, heats up, screams for a moment,

and disappears without a trace.

Not a full on quasar that shines for thousands of years, but a quick snack.

The next idea comes with the only repeating fast radio burst that's ever been found.

Astronomers looked through the data archive of the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico

and found a signal that had repeated at least 10 times in a year, sometimes less than a

minute apart.

Since the quick blast of radiation is repeating, this rules out a one-time collision between

exotic objects like neutron stars.

Instead, there could be a new class of magnetars (which are already a new class of neutron

stars), that can release these occasional shrieks of radio.

Or maybe this repeating object is totally different from the single events that have

been discovered so far.

Here's my favorite idea.

And honestly, the one that's the least realistic.

What I'm about to say is almost certainly not what's going on.

And yet, it can't be ruled out, and that's good enough for my fertile imagination.

Avi Loeb and Manasvi Lingam at Harvard University said the following about FRBs:

"Fast radio bursts are exceedingly bright given their short duration and origin at distances,

and we haven't identified a possible natural source with any confidence.

An artificial origin is worth contemplating and checking."

Artificial origin.

So.

Aliens.

Nice.

Loeb and Lingam calculated how difficult it would be to send a signal that strong, that

far across the Universe.

They found that you'd need to build a solar array with twice the surface area of Earth

to power the radio wave transmitter.

And what would you do with a transmission of radio or microwaves that strong?

You'd use it to power a spacecraft, of course.

What we're seeing here on Earth is just the momentary flash as a propulsion beam sweeps

past the Solar System like a lighthouse.

But in reality, this huge solar array would be firing out a constant beam of radiation

that would propel a massive starship to tremendous speeds.

Like the Breakthrough Starshot spacecraft, but for million tonne spaceships.

In other words, we could be witnessing alien transportation systems, pushing spacecraft

with beams of energy to other worlds.

And I know that's probably not what's happening.

It's not aliens.

It's never aliens.

But in my mind, that's what I'm imagining.

So, kick back and enjoy the ride.

Join us as we watch astronomers struggle to understand what fast radio bursts are.

As they invalidate theories, and slowly unlock one of the most thrilling mysteries in modern

astronomy.

And as soon as they figure it out, I'll let you know all about it.

What do you think?

Which explanation for fast radio bursts seems the most logical to you?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and wild speculation in the comments.

In our next episode, we're going to take spacecraft reusability to the next step: single

stage to orbit.

I'm talking about a rocket that takes off, delivers a payload into orbit and then lands

again.

Is this possible?

Is it even a good idea?

The mystery of fast radio bursts is similar to the mystery of magnetars.

We kind of know what they are now, but they didn't give up their secrets easily.

Here's a video that talks all about them.

Like the Breakthrough Starshat spacecraft... (groans)

Leon Panetta: North Korea Conflict Could Lead To Nuclear War | Andrea Mitchell | MSNBC - Duration: 11:06.

>>> AT PRESIDENT TRUMP COUNTS DOWN, HE IS FACING A CRISIS IN

KOREA. HE MAY ALSO BE FACING ONE IN

IRAN. JOINING ME KNOW IS LEON PANETTA.

CHIEF OF STAFF FOR PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, NOW CHAIRING THE

PANETTA INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY IN MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA.

THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US. THERE IS SO MANY CRISIS ON THE

PRESIDENT'S PLATE. LET'S START WITH NORTH KOREA.

JOHN McCAIN JUST SAID IT IS TIME TO REALLY GET CHINA TO DELIVER

AND HE WAS VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT ALL OF THIS TALK ABOUT

PRE-EMPTIVE ACTION. WE DIDN'T ADDRESS IT, BUT IT IS

DIFFICULT WITH MOBILE MISSILE LAUNCHERS, THE NEW NUCLEAR

FACILITIES ARE UNDER GROUND. WHAT ABOUT PRE-EMPTIVE MILITARY

ACTION OR ANY MILITARY ACTION GIVING THE PROXIMITY OF SEOUL,

PLUS 25 MILLION PEOPLE AND OUR OWN FORCES BELOW THE DMZ.

>> THERE IS A REASON WHY OUR MOST RECENT PRESIDENTS HAVE NOT

PULLED A TRIGGER WHEN IT COMES TO NORTH KOREA.

IT IS BECAUSE OF THE OBVIOUS CONSEQUENCES WITH REGARDS TO

WHAT THEY COULD DO TO SEOUL. A CITY OF 20 TO 25 MILLION.

AND THE FACT THAT IT COULD ESCALATE INTO A NUCLEAR WAR.

THAT WOULD TAKE MILLIONS OF LIVES AS A RESULT OF THAT.

SO, IT IS CLEAR THAT WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PRESSURE CHINA, LOOK

OUR STRATEGY HAS TO BE ONE OF CONTAINMENT AND DETERRENCE.

AND WE HAVE TO UP THAT GAME INCLUDING OUR PRESENCE THERE.

WE HAVE TO SUPPORT OUR ALLIES. WE HAVE TO INCREASE SANCTIONS

AGAINST NORTH KOREA, AND WE HAVE TO KEEP PRESH ON CHINA.

IN THE PAST THEY PUT A LITTLE PRESSURE ON BEN THINK AND THIS

BACKED AWAY. WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY

CONTINUE TO PUT PRESSURE ON NORTH KOREA SEW THEY BACK OFF OF

THE TESTING OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS. >> THE FACT IS THAT CHINA AND

NORTH KOREA COULD BE SANCTIONED MORE.

THERE IS OTHER SECONDARY SANCTIONS THAT COULD HURT CHINA

AND MAYBE GET THEIR ATTENTION. >> I THINK THAT OUGHT TO BE ON

THE TABLE FOR CONSIDERATION. BECAUSE WE HAVE TO MAKE VERY

CLEAR THAT NORTH KOREA, IF THEY DEVELOP AN ICBM WITH SOME KIND

OF MINIATURIZED NUCLEAR WEAPON, THAT REPRESENTS A DIRECT THREAT

TO THE SECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES.

AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. SO CHINA NEEDS TO ACT HERE

BECAUSE THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN AS JOHN McCAIN POINTED

OUT. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS CONCERN

IN TERMS OF OUR NATIONAL SECURITY.

>> IRAN HAS BEEN PROVOCATIVE IN THE PERSIAN GULF, CHALLENGING

OUR SHIPS. JOHN McCAIN SAID WE SHOULD NOT

BACK DONE AND EVEN TAKE A SHOT AT THEM IF THEY DO IT AGAIN.

>> WE HAVE HAD THESE KINDS OF PROVOCATIONS OVER A NUMBER OF

YEARS IN THE REGION BECAUSE OF THE TRANSPORT OF OUR NAVY SHIPS

AND A NUMBER OF OIL TANKERS THAT PASS THROUGH THE STREETS.

SO WE HAVE A PRESENCE THERE. WE OPERATE IN INTERNATIONAL

WATERS, SO INTERNATIONAL AIR. BUT IF IRAN COMES IN AND DOES A

PROVOCATIVE ACT, YOU TO MAKE

VERY CLEAR TO THEM THAT THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE.

THAT WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT KIND OF PROVOCATIVE ACT.

FOR THAT REASON, I THINK WHAT THE NAVY SHIP DID RECENTLY

INDICATES THAT THEY ARE ENTERING A DANGER ZONE, AND THEY ARE NOT

TO DO THAT. WE TOOK THE SAME STEPS WITH

REGARDS TO MAKING CLEAR TO THEM THEY OUGHT NOT TO GO AFTER OUR

DRONES, LARGELY IN INTERNATIONAL AIRSPACE.

THE ONLY WAY YOU DEAL WITH IRAN IS DRAWING THOSE KINDS OF LINES

AND I'M GLAD THEY DID THAT. >> AN IRANIAN DIPLOMAT MET FOR

THE FIRST TIME WITH A TRUMP STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL, AND

YESTERDAY WAS VERY TOUGH ABOUT THE PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS AND

SECRETARY TILLERSON'S COMMENTS ABOUT LINKING TERRORISM AND

OTHER PARTS OF THE DEAL. THE PRESIDENT ETERNALLY

INTERVENED TO TOUGHEN UP THAT STATEMENT LAST WEEK.

ARE WE PROVOKES A CRISIS WITH IRAN WHICH, ARGUABLY, WE DON'T

NEED AT THE SAME TIME AS A CRISIS IN NORTH KOREA?

>> WE'RE DEALING WITH A LOT OF FLASH POINTS IN THE WORLD, AND

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE ADMINISTRATION HAVE A OVERALL

STRATEGY FOR HOW THEY WILL DEAL WITH THE FLASH POINTS.

YOU CAN'T JUST REACT TO THE CRISIS OF THE MOMENT AND CALL

THAT A STRATEGY. WITH REGARDS TO IRAN, I THINK

THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO DIVIDE THESE ISSUES UP.

WE HAVE A NUCLEAR AGREEMENT, THEY HAVE ABIDED BY IT SO FAR.

I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO SEPARATE THAT OUT, AND DON'T TRY

TO INDICATE THAT THAT AGREEMENT OUGHT TO EXPAND TO OTHER AREAS

THAT WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE AGREEMENT.

HAVING SAID THAT, WE HAVE CONCERNED ABOUT HEZBOLLAH, IRAN,

AND TERRORISM IN THAT REGION, AND WE OUGHT TO CONTINUE TO PUT

PRESSURE ON THEM WITH REGARDS TO THAT SUPPORT.

THAT OUGHT TO BE HANDLED SEPARATELY FROM THE WORK ON

ENFORCING THE NUCLEAR AGREEMENT. >> THERE HAS BEEN AN

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE WITHDRAWING FROM NAFTA FROM THE

PRESIDENT NOW, IS THAT A GOOD IDEA?

>> I THINK THE ADMINISTRATION IS REALLY STRUGGLING TO FIGURE OUT

WHAT THEIR TRADE POLICY IS. I KNOW WHAT THE PRESIDENT SAID

DURING THE CAMPAIGN ABOUT WITHDRAWING FROM THE TRADE

AGREEMENTS. WE RECOGNIZE THAT IS DANGEROUS,

PARTICULARLY FOR OUR ECONOMY, THAT WE WOULD DO THAT.

I THOUGHT THAT THEY RECOGNIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF NAFTA AND THE

NEED TO STRENGTHEN NAFTA, BUT YOU CAN'T JUST GET AWAY FROM IT.

YOU CAN'T JUST WALK AWAY. IT IS PART OF A GLOBAL WORLD.

WE HAVE TO TRADE IN A GLOBAL WORLD.

OUR ECONOMY WILL BE DAMAGED IF WE DON'T STAND BY THE

PROPOSITION THAT WE NEED TO BE PART OF THE TRADE EFFORT IN THE

WORLD. >> I WANT TO ASK YOU ABOUT

SOMETHING THAT ONE OF YOUR SUCCESSORS, AS CHIEF OF STAFF,

REINCE PRIEBUS SAID THE SENATE DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING UP

CONFIRMATIONS, BUT THEY HAVE NOMINATED ONLY 57 PEOPLE FOR THE

530 VACANCIES. CONFIRMED 26 AND 37 MORE HAVE

BEEN NOMINATED. IS THE HANG UP IN THE WHITE

HOUSE OR THE OFFICE OF GOVERNMENT ETHICS IN THE

PIPELINE OR ON THE HILL. >> THERE IS NO QUESTION HERE

THAT ONE OF THE SERIOUS PROBLEMS FACING THE ADMINISTRATION IS THE

LACK OF APPOINTED PERSONNEL. WE'RE APPROACHING 100 DAYS,

THOSE NAMES SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED.

THERE IS LIKE 500 POSITIONS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.

THEY ARE COMPLAINING NOW ABOUT NOT HAVING THE APPOINTEES.

THE WHITE HOUSE HAS TO PROPOSE SHOES NAMES TO THE SENATE.

GET THE NAMES UP THERE. IF THEY ARE TRYING TO HAVE THEM

FALL ON THE SENATE, BUT YOU CAN'T BLAME THEM FOR ACTING IF

THEY DON'T HAVE NOMINATED NAMES THAT HAVE BEEN PROPOSED TO THE

SENATE. IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

>> AND MY REPORTING IS THAT IT IS A TRUMP LOYALTY TEST THAT HE

IS IMPOSING ON THE STATE AGENCIES.

SECRETARY TILLERSON IS BASICALLY HOME ALONE.

LET ME ASK YOU ABOUT THE TAX PROPOSALS, WE HEAR ABOUT PICK

TAX CUTS FOR BUSINESS DOWN TO 15%.

WHAT ARE YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT THE DEFICIT, OR DO YOU THINK IT WILL

SPUR GROWTH. >> I THINK ONE OF THE REAL

DANGERS TO OUR ECONOMY RIGHT NOW IS THE SIZE OF THE DEBT THAT WE

CURRENTLY HAVE, WHICH IS $20 TRILLION.

ACCORDING TO CBO, ASSUMING WE DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, THAT

DEBT WILL DOUBLE IN THE NEXT FEW DECADES TO 150% OF OUR GDP.

OUR ECONOMY CAN'T SUSTAIN THAT. I UNDERSTAND THE NEED TO TRY TO

PROVIDE SOME TAX CUTS, PARTICULARLY ON THE CORPORATE

SIDE. BUT WE ALWAYS HAD A PROPOSITION

WHEN I WAS CHAIR OF THE BUDGET COMMITTEE, AND HEAD OF OMB, THAT

IF YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE THOSE STEPS, PAY FOR IT.

DON'T ADD TO THE DEFICIT. AND THIS IDEA THAT GROWTH CAN

PAY FOR THESE KINDS OF HUGE TAX CUTS IS OPERATING IN FAIRYLAND.

THAT JUST DOESN'T WORK, SO IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO A TAX CUT,

THEN SHOW HOW YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT.

>> LEON PANETTA, THANK YOU SO MU

Google Analytics Integration | Checkfront's 2 Minute Check-Ups - Duration: 2:46.

Hi, I'm Mitch from the Checkfront Support team, and today I want to show you how you

can set up Checkfront with Google Analytics. To get started, you're going to want to go to your Google

Analytics account and open it to the admin section, which you can see here on my

screen. And, the first thing you're going to want to do to get this started is go

to the 'View' section under 'Ecommerce Settings', and

now we're going to 'Enable Ecommerce', and you can also 'Enable

Related Products' and click 'Next step.' Our integration doesn't currently cover

the 'Enhanced Ecommerce Settings', so you can leave this off and just hit 'Submit'.

After this is set up, you're going to want to go back to the main menu,

under the 'Property' section and go to 'Tracking Info'

-> 'Tracking Code'. From here you're going to see a unique tracking code

and you can just highlight over and then copy it, and now we're going to jump

into your Checkfront account, under Manage -> Add-ons,

and then we're just going to find the Google Analytics add-on,

which is right here. Just going to want to paste

in that code, and then you'll want to 'Enable Universal Analytics', if you're using

a recent version of Google Analytics. You can click Activate

and now we're all set up. So basically what that's going to do is

paste this code that you would usually paste onto your website,

Checkfront is going to handle that for you and paste it on the same page

as your Checkfront booking page. At this point, the set up process

between Checkfront and Google Analytics is complete. Now all you need to do is

start receiving bookings, so that you can have the data transferred over to Google Analytics.

There's going to be a couple of reports that you can use with

Checkfront data. They're going to be found under 'Conversions' and then

'Ecommerce'. We'll take a look at the 'Product Performance' report.

As an example, you can see that I had a booking

come through for Kohala zipline, and just a note too

that as soon as you setup Google Analytics with Checkfront and start receiving data,

Google does take up to 24 hours to actually start processing the

data and before you see it in the reports. So that's just something to keep in mind.

So in this case, you can see that the price

came through, the quantity, the product name, as well as

if you drill down you can see the actual SKU. If you go to then

'Transactions' view, then you can also see the booking

ID show up here so you know exactly which customer this was,

and there's a couple more reports here that you can explore on your own. But I

just wanted to give you a quick overview of Google Analytics and Checkfront together.

Feel free to reach out to us at support@checkfront.com if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Decide | Sardone Construction - Duration: 1:58.

The first step in the process is

actually you. You decide you need to do

this project and you pick up the phone

and call us maybe one of the first

questions I might ask you is are you

sure you don't want to move? A remodel is

is quite a process it takes a long time

it takes a lot of energy and then you

know we tear apart your house for months

and months at a time

it's not convenient. We'll probably start

by just really chatting with you about

about what your needs are what your

goals, what your priorities are

why you're choosing to do this remodel and

then we'll start by sending you some

design homework some of that design

homework would just be questions that

are really help us understand what your

needs are and where you're wanting to go

so we start out with some design

questionnaires we might ask you to get

on house and send us some pictures if

you're comfortable with that I had

someone send me 927 pictures on

pinterest once. We ask for a few less

than that. You know, after I get y'all's

homework back the next thing we would do

is I have set up an appointment to meet

with you at your home and we would walk

through the home and we would walk

through your design and we would sit

down and we would really talk about what

your needs are for this project and

again why we're doing it and how can we

help you and really most importantly do

we feel that we're the best fit for you

you feel that you're the best for us you

know a project like all remodel projects

is, is a major undertaking and the

most important decision that you can

make is finding the right company the

right partner the right team to work with

they're going to be with you for a long

time they might do multiple projects

with you and you want to make sure

you're getting partnered up with the

team who you can trust and who you feel

is going to take care of you and walk

you through that project well
