(Episode 115)
Commissioner.
I'm Inspector Cha Taejin of Chamsuri Station.
Cha Taejin...
I heard you have a disciplinary hearing today.
Why are you here?
Please grant me a search warrant for Hanju Bank.
That'll prove all this was a set-up.
If that's not the case,
I will resign.
You have no fear.
Yes, Senior Inspector Hwang.
Cha Taejin's stirred up major trouble.
How did you think of that?
Anyway, thank goodness.
I was planning to start a petition with the staff,
but there's no need now.
Anyway, the investigation will expose the truth
clearly and unequivocally.
I hope so.
Wow. Officer Moo really came through.
It was bleak when you were slumped over at the bar.
She got you back on your feet. Yes, she did.
So my hard work did pay off.
What kind of hard work?
What more could I have done?
I did the best I could.
Thank you.
I think you gave me the courage to do this.
Stop it. You're making this awkward.
It's not like you to act shy.
I thought you'd curse me out last night.
I don't remember everything since I was drunk,
but I clearly remember a few things.
Please forget them.
Really?
Do you really want me to forget?
It must've taken a lot of courage for you.
Geez.
What? What are you talking about?
Inspector Cha went to see the commissioner
and took care of this in one fell swoop.
Oh, my goodness!
Kang Baekho, isn't my brother impressive?
My brother-in-law really is something else.
Once it's proven he was set up,
it's game over.
Wow, Uncle Taejin rocks.
This is quite cool.
Quite? Quite?
What I dreamed of...
Now, now. Zip it, Cha Huijin.
Okay.
Hey, we shouldn't dally here.
We must let Father know.
I'll come with you.
Haechan, you can pack the chicken for him, right?
Sure. Don't worry.
Father, Father!
Please sit down, everyone.
Why are you yelling like that
when we're already seated?
Dad, there's really great news.
Taejin...
I'm shaking.
What is it?
Father, Taejin went to see the commissioner
and took care of everything in one fell swoop.
Are you serious?
The precinct was turned upside down.
Oh, wow. That's great.
See? I told you everything would work out.
You didn't believe me though
and wouldn't stop sighing.
Mother, I had the same feeling as you.
Give me a break.
You were sighing every night, worried about Taejin.
Hey, you were crying into your pillow every night.
Anyway, isn't this great, Dad?
What is everyone talking about?
Did something happen to Taejin?
Grandmother, the truth is,
Taejin had been framed
and was under a bit of stress.
What?
But why didn't you tell me?
We didn't want you to worry.
Don't you dare
keep leaving me out just because I'm old.
But things went well though?
Yes.
Taejin took care of it by going to see
the commissioner himself.
Grandma, your grandson is something else.
Good grief. Is that news to you?
So that's why you looked so distraught.
Yes, Mom.
Mother, we should really get rice cakes made
and give them out to everyone in the neighborhood.
Yes, sure. Why not?
How could someone be so spiteful to do this
with an account created for a good cause?
How's your brother doing?
Oh. I forgot to tell you.
His ad did well in a contest.
It won the grand prize.
Bora got him a congratulatory gift,
so I think they'll be fine.
Why didn't you tell me
about your mother?
She came to our house yesterday about Bora.
I'm sorry I blabbered without knowing anything.
It must've been frustrating.
It did drive me mad.
You should've told me.
I couldn't tell you not to hang out
with that scumbag just because my mother
is his stepmother.
Sir...
I just couldn't get myself to tell you.
And I figured it'd make you uncomfortable too.
You must be upset because of your mom.
I told you.
She means nothing to me anymore.
Let's talk about something else.
It finally feels nice and warm in here.
Do you know how scary he's been?
I couldn't talk to him,
he refused to eat,
and he drove me like a slave.
Why are you telling her all that?
I should make myself scarce, right?
That's my specialty.
Bora, I'll see you tomorrow, the day after,
and forever and ever. I have faith in you.
Run along.
Come sit.
Why aren't you asking me anything?
About what?
Don't you want to know why I did it?
You'll tell me when you want to.
I told you. I'm putting you before all else.
I'm yours to do with as you please.
Suhyeok.
You might resent me later
for being so shameless.
But I still want to be by your side.
That's okay, right?
Of course.
Were you planning to run away with our baby?
You'll get it from me if you do it again.
Uri has a new doll.
What's Duri?
Our baby's nickname.
I told the baby about you every day,
so it knows you.
Duri, nice to meet you.
I'm your daddy.
Oh, my goodness.
I'd really like to meet you, Ms. Sunny.
May I wait for you at Barista Jean
amid the rich aroma of coffee?
See? See?
Geez. What's the matter with you?
Oh, wow.
Didn't I tell you
that he's either a womanizer or a widower?
Go meet him.
You're single, and he seems to be single too.
What's holding you back?
Just go and see.
Who knows?
He might be your type,
pale with long fingers.
You're describing someone with lung disease.
And when did I say that was my type?
You've always liked men like that,
pale and with long fingers.
Forget that.
Manly and healthy is best.
Long fingers? Geez.
No way.
You'll go, right?
No way.
What do you take me for?
Then should I go?
Yes.
- Must be the kids. / - Right.
Don't you dare say anything to them.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Hi, Suja.
Suhyeok, congratulations.
Thank you.
I'm off then.
Okay. Off you go.
- Take care. / - Bye.
So you got to see Bora?
I need not worry anymore, right?
No.
That's great.
You must be tired, so don't explain.
As long as you two worked things out.
Go on and rest.
You're very cool as always.
Hey, so when's Bora coming back?
I told her to stay there for now
as she has bad morning sickness.
Of course.
Mom, her father hasn't regained consciousness.
Bora's there for various reasons.
Okay, fine.
I can finally get a good night's sleep.
There's nothing to worry about as Mom said, right?
Yeah.
I don't know what will happen,
but I'm relieved to know she still loves me.
Thank you.
I said not to mention it.
Congrats again on the contest.
You're something else, Moo Suhyeok.
Stop it, kiddo.
Hi.
Do you have good news?
Huh?
I think you do.
Has Dad shown some improvement?
Yes. His back seems stronger when he sits.
Dohyeon, a word, please?
I met with Suhyeok today.
I'll go away with him like you told me to.
You're going away?
I'm sorry, but this is a bad time.
Dohyeon.
Cha Taejin's digging into the accident again.
What do you mean?
He might actually know everything already.
Worst case scenario, everything will come to light.
Will Moo Suhyeok still love you then?
Because of the baby?
Even if the whole world pardons you,
I don't think he and his family will.
Dohyeon.
I'll take care of everything.
Cha Taejin's digging into the accident again.
He might actually know everything already.
Worst case scenario, everything will come to light.
Will Moo Suhyeok still love you then?
Because of the baby?
Hon.
Are the kids back from school?
Dad, you're awake?
Dad.
Sweetheart,
I'm sorry.
It's been proven the wire transfer was a set-up,
but whoever carried it out is missing.
Then what will happen to Inspector Cha?
What do you think?
His name has been cleared.
But we must catch the perp to learn why.
So the offending bank employee hasn't been located?
He fled overseas right after committing the act.
Where's Inspector Cha?
In the interview room.
Learn from him.
He's sifting through the dash cam footage
amid all this.
This is so upsetting.
I thought it'd be over if the set-up was proven.
When did that bank employee disappear?
Right after committing the deed.
Someone must have ordered him to.
This is the beginning.
The beginning of war.
It's good to fight bravely,
but we must do it together.
Don't ever forget we are partners.
Got it?
Inspector Cha, Senior Inspector Lee wants to see you.
Okay.
Chin up.
It's a bit of a letdown, but what can we do?
I'm fine.
You seem to be up against a formidable foe.
Are you sure you'll be okay?
I'm actually looking into Senior Inspector Hwang.
What are you talking about?
That was the commissioner's order when I saw him.
He said that there would be an internal probe
as soon as the set-up is proven.
Really?
I'm sorry I couldn't tell you sooner.
Don't be. It was the commissioner's order,
so how could you be loose-lipped about it?
Good luck.
Once you start digging, you'll probably uncover
a string of entangled misdeeds.
But can you manage alone?
Does Officer Moo know?
I'll tell her if I need to.
Good. I don't know about Park,
but Moo Gunghwa is reliable.
She's breathed new life into you,
just like Wonder Woman.
It's nippy out,
so how about blowfish soup?
Oh, really?
Alas, if you're busy.
Who? Senior Inspector Hwang?
Yes.
But will Moo Suhyeok just do as you say?
I'll make him if he doesn't.
Let's go out for lunch.
Sorry. I have plans.
Let's work out together later.
You must have a lot on your plate these days.
I'm a bit swamped.
The hotel project alone is a lot of work.
What's keeping you? You have plans.
So it was all Dohyeon's doing, right?
Including the bank employee's disappearance?
I believe so,
although I'm not sure as he didn't tell me.
You know how meticulous Dohyeon is.
Inspector Cha will have a hard time nailing him.
Dohyeon pretends he's not fazed,
but I'm sure he's nervous.
And it's clear Hwang wants out.
But why?
He's wary after the blow Inspector Cha dealt him.
There was a lot of talk about him internally.
And it's been proven Inspector Cha was set up,
so Hwang will distance himself from Dohyeon.
And if you threaten him with the bribe ledger,
he'll be out to kill Dohyeon.
He'll do anything to save his own skin.
Counsel Seo is meeting with Ms. Heo right now.
Okay.
What brings you here?
You were busy, so I had no choice
but to come to you.
Have a seat.
You don't seem happy to see me.
But then again, there's a lot of talk
about you these days, so you
wouldn't want to be seen with a loan shark's son.
President Jin!
Are you scared because
Cha Taejin went to the commissioner?
How dare you.
The commissioner will welcome me with open arms
if I go to him about you.
What?
You seem to have underestimated me.
I'm Chairman Jin Daegap's son.
So don't get any funny ideas.
If you betray me, I'll get rid of you
even before I get rid of Cha Taejin.
Got that, Senior Inspector Hwang Pilseong?
If I call you,
come right over.
Dohyeon.
What's this?
Divorce papers.
Dohyeon.
Stop making Bora suffer.
Call it quits.
No matter what you say,
we're never going to separate.
The more stubborn you get,
the more you two will suffer.
Yes. Frankly, it was quite hard.
I thought Bora really wanted to leave me.
But I know how she really feels now,
so I can withstand any hardship
even if it's greater than this.
Moo Suhyeok.
I'll give you my word.
No matter what happens,
I will never forsake Bora.
So please don't bring this to me again.
Where are you?
I miss you.
The real Jin Bora is back.
I wanted to cook you something nice,
but the smell...
- Let's sit. / - Okay.
Oh. Is there anything you're craving?
I was really going to harass you, making you
go out to get me spicy rice cakes
and blood sausage in the middle of the night.
Harass me all you want.
I'll go catch the moon and stars if you want.
You must not believe me.
Just say the word.
I feel bad,
but I don't think I can return right away.
I was hoping you'd take your time too.
Our place is small,
and you must feel more comfortable around Mother.
Plus, you'll be worried about Father.
Suhyeok.
I told Mom.
And Gunghwa understands too,
so don't worry and stay there comfortably.
But be there for me like today if I call you.
I'll come right over too if you call me.
Okay.
It's chilly.
This won't do. Let's go.
I'll drive you.
You know you can't get a cold, right?
Let's stay just a bit longer. A bit longer.
Yes, okay.
Can't you go home early and rest?
I told you to go.
Why follow me in here to nag?
You don't have many left.
You can finish them tomorrow.
I'll look at just a few more.
Let's do it together and leave together.
Hello?
Yes.
I'm sorry for taking your time.
It's fine.
I wanted to discuss Bora with you.
I think they've decided not to get divorced.
Right. Bora's love for him never wavered.
Anyway, I feel so bad watching her.
She's pregnant no less,
and she can't be with the baby's dad.
So I'd like you to care for her and nurture her.
And please explain it well to Seonok too.
Bora needs Suhyeok more than anyone else.
Okay.
I'm relieved we're on the same page.
I don't know if I can ask you this.
Don't hold back.
You know I'm Taejin's mom, right?
Yes.
What's the latest on Taejin's situation?
It's been proven he was set up,
but the offending bank employee has fled,
so it won't be easy to find out what happened.
How's Taejin doing?
He's very frustrated of course.
But he will find whoever was behind this.
So don't worry too much.
You didn't tell him you were meeting me, right?
He'd hate it if he knew.
Taejin resents me a lot, doesn't he?
It probably means he was unable to forget you.
For him to have opened up that much,
he must have really loved you.
Frankly, I couldn't stand you.
And I still can't
as you and Dohyeon are making Taejin suffer.
Dohyeon seems to have been behind this too,
and I think you were the reason.
What brings you here?
Did your brother say something?
What did you say to Suhyeok?
To get divorced with Bora.
Why should they do that?
You know how much they love each other.
Plus, they even have a baby now,
so why should they get divorced?
Tell me why
they have to separate.
Ms. Moo Gunghwa.
Because of you?
Why should they be miserable because of you?
Speak plainly if you must.
What are you getting at?
Did you kill Uri's dad?
Who told you something so outlandish?
The evidence.
That's what a large body of evidence tells me.
Then you should've brought a warrant, Officer Moo.
Mr. Jin Dohyeon!
Bring a warrant, and we'll talk.
Fine.
I'll bring a warrant next time.
But if you really were behind everything,
I hope you turn yourself in.
For better or for worse, you're family
and someone Uri was very fond of.
I went to see Mr. Jin Dohyeon today.
What did you say to him?
I asked him if he killed Yunjae.
I know it was reckless of me.
It must've broken his heart.
I'm getting to the bottom of this.
Are you sure?
But he's family.
That's why I hesitated for a long time.
Like you said, he is family.
And he did dote on Uri a lot.
But this isn't what's best for him either.
Like you said, crime begets crime.
What if he does something worse to cover it up?
So what will you do now?
I went to Special Investigations this morning
and requested a reinvestigation into Yunjae's accident.
I won't let feelings hold me back.
I'm going to face this head-on like you.
You've come a long way, Moo Gunghwa.
You seem like a real cop now.
Let's see this through together.
Officer Moo requested a reinvestigation today.
What?

AVENGERS INFINITY WAR Theory: How Hela Will Return after Thor Ragnarok - Duration: 8:08.
If you've seen Thor: Ragnarok, you may think that the movie left Goddess of Death Hela's
situation pretty clear cut.
Yippee-ki-yay, movie lovers, it's Jan here and before I go any further, here's your spoiler
warning if you still haven't seen Ragnarok yet, because today I want to look at some
of the clues in the film together with Marvel's plans for Thanos, plus Hela's comic book history
to theorise why there's a good chance we'll see Hela back in Avengers: Infinity War or
Avengers 4.
And just to let you know, I've got a couple of Marvel giveaways running at the moment,
so keep watching this video for more details of how to win.
Let's start with the first clue that Hela could have survived that giant sword strike
from Surtur.
There's an especially relevant moment earlier in Thor: Ragnarok that hints at Hela's incredible
power and near-invincibility.
After she arrives on Asgard, she takes out the Warriors Three, as well as a slew of elite
Asgardian fighters in an incredible display of her skills.
At one point, though, she gets stabbed in her back all the way through to her front
with a sword.
This kind of stabbing would be enough to kill or at least severely wound any less powerful
character, but Hela just carries on fighting, taking out all the remaining soldiers.
It's a detail that happens very quickly so you might not have taken it in fully the first
time round, but it demonstrates that what would be deadly to many barely seems to leave
a scratch on Hela, indicating she has superhuman durability in the MCU as she does in the comics,
and possibly also regenerative powers.
Interestingly, VFX supervisor Jake Morrison said that when they designed Hela's costume,
the script detailed that she had to get stabbed in the suit and then the suit had to heal
around it and also her cape had to absorb bullets.
On that last point, it's worth noting that Hela is wearing her cloak in this scene with
Surtur, which we also know from the comics has an important effect on her powers.
Speaking of Hela's powers, when she revealed the true history of Asgard beneath Odin's
mural, you could see a painting that showed she originally wielded Mjolnir and, before
that, we also saw her shatter Thor's mighty hammer, which as Odin once said was "forged
in the heart of a dying star".
In other words, Hela's power is incredible in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor realised that even
he plus the other Revengers could not defeat her.
OK, you say, but a stab from an Asgardian sword isn't the same as the absolutely enormous
sword that Surtur brought down on Hela.
And no, it isn't, but intriguingly at the moment that Surtur brought his sword down
on Hela, a bright oval-shaped light surrounded her, which seems a little curious.
Hela, like Doctor Strange, has the power of teleportation and can open portals to instantaneously
move to another part of the universe.
She arrived in Norway in that manner and, if she was fast enough, she may have escaped
Surtur this way too.
And, again, Hela is still wearing her cloak when she's struck by Surtur, and if you look
really carefully, it seems like she could have been using her cloak to shield herself
against his attack.
On top of that, we never actually see a real close-up of Hela's apparent demise, likely
because Marvel realise they have a good villain here and therefore they don't won't to lose
her for good or they have other plans for her already.
Now, I kinda like the idea that Hela either escaped or that her powers are such that she
could have survived that takedown by Surtur, meaning that she's floating around in space
somewhere.
But let's just assume for a moment that, despite all those powers, the combination of Surtur's
sword and then Asgard exploding was too much, and that Hela did die.
Well, the thing is, of course, these are comic book movies, so if the creators want to, Hela
can be brought back, as has happened before in the comics.
Something else to consider is the Eternal Flame, which could be useful in resurrecting
Hela if she is dead.
When Hela entered Odin's treasure vault, she referred to the Eternal Flame as "true power"
and she used it to resurrect Fenris Wolf and her undead army, plus Surtur was resurrected
via the Eternal Flame in order to bring about Ragnarok.
In the comics, the Eternal Flame can't be extinguished, and with Thanos turning up on
his Sanctuary 2 ship in the mid-credits scene, I wonder whether he could have picked up the
Eternal Flame, assuming it's still burning, together with Hela's body.
And putting the two together, we could get a resurrected version of Hela.
Or could Thanos use the Soul Stone, which some fans see as being connected with the
Eternal Flame, to bring Hela back to life?
Next, we need to talk about Thanos and why he's a big part of the reason Marvel may bring
back Hela.
I think we can look at these two characters as soulmates of sorts.
They're both megalomaniacs whose ambition it is to conquer the universe.
Remember that in Thor: Ragnarok, Hela revealed she was frustrated with Odin when he decided
to rein in Asgard's empire once the two of them had conquered the Nine Realms.
In contrast to her father, Hela wanted to carry on and conquer the entire cosmos.
Bringing Hela and Thanos together would be a deadly combination as they'd form perhaps
the MCU's most twisted and lethal couple.
And it's worth noting that Hela and Thanos actually got together in Marvel's current
run of The Unworthy Thor comics.
Now, I can see that Hela and Thanos share a twisted view of the universe, but despite
multiple cameo appearances so far, we still don't know exactly why Thanos is collecting
the Infinity Stones, other than a somewhat generic thirst for power.
Perhaps that's all it is, but what if he already has a connection with Hela?
I mean we know Odin kept Hela banished while he was alive, but we don't know if Thanos
was aware of her ultimate fate and her conquests alongside her father before that.
But if he was, it's not inconceivable that he might have felt a kinship with her and
would have wanted to gain enough power to impress her or try to break her out of her
prison.
And for the final piece of the puzzle we need to go back to the original source material.
Earlier this year, when Kevin Feige was asked about Thanos's motivation, he wouldn't commit
to anything too specific, but he did say that Thanos's motives will be similar to those
that he has in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline in the comics.
To recap briefly, in the comics, Thanos' desire to wield the Infinity Gauntlet is tied up
with his desire to impress the character Mistress Death, who he adores.
And he uses the Gauntlet to obliterate half the population in the universe for her.
And, if you think back to the mid-credits scene in the first Avengers film, it seems
like this has already been hinted at, as at the end of that movie, Thanos responded with
a smile when he was told that 'to challenge [humans] would be to court Death'.
The Infinity War trailer at D23 and Comic Con showed Thanos wreaking large-scale destruction
and I wonder if his motivation is because he's trying to prove himself to the Goddess
of Death, Hela, and to get payback for what happened to her in Thor: Ragnarok.
I think Hela would be a great substitute in the MCU for Mistress Death from the comics
as Hela is an interesting character who's already been established, and that means Marvel
don't have to introduce yet another character in the third and fourth Avengers movies, which
are already overflowing with characters.
Of course, you may still be sceptical about Hela's return, and it may still be that the
supervillain really is dead and gone for good, however, when Marvel and Cate Blanchett were
asked about the possibility of Hela returning, they were pretty coy.
Marvel Studios producer Brad Winderbaum has said that Hela is one of the best villains
Marvel has ever had and has confirmed that she represents all the things that Thanos
values.
And Cate Blanchett herself hasn't ruled out returning to the MCU as Hela either.
I also wonder whether some scenes with Hela have already been filmed for either Avengers:
Infinity War or Avengers 4.
After all, reshoots for Thor: Ragnarok took place in Atlanta which is where filming for
Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 took place, so it wouldn't have been too hard to
secretly film some scenes with Cate Blanchett and Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos, on a set
with a reduced number of crew.
Perhaps a post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War revealing that Hela is actually
still alive?
Now, that would be an end-credits scene to remember!
So, what do you think about Hela returning to the MCU?
Would you like her to team up with Thanos in Infinity War or Avengers 4?
Or do you have any other theories on why Thanos is trying to collect all the Infinity Stones?

Delving into agendas discussed at APEC meeting - Duration: 4:52.
Key agendas ranging from trade to security are expected during President Moon's visit
to Vietnam.
Our Kim Ji-yeon explains what to expect during the APEC summit.
The heads-of-state and representatives of more than 20 member economies are gathering
in Vietnam's port city of Danang to attend this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
meeting.
Founded in 1989, the APEC was established to boost economic cooperation through free
and fair trade among 21 economies in the Asia-Pacific region.
APEC's economic growth had been enormous,... with trade among the 21-member economies expanding
nearly seven-fold in 2015 compared to when it was first established... while the average
tariff rate fell to 5-point-6-percent from 17-percent.
Income per capita also increased by 76-percent during the period.
(standup) "Despite these achievements...
APEC faces challenges,... from low growth to wealth polarization,... that are driving
support away from free trade and globalization.
In light of this, Vietnam, the host country, chose the theme for this year's APEC summit
... as "creating new dynamism, fostering a shared future."
Among the four main agendas, President Moon is expected to particularly focus on the promotion
of sustainable, innovative and inclusive growth, as it reflects his administration's initiatives
on "people-centered" and "income-driven" economic
growth... which places emphasis on leaving no one behind... in order to address chronic
structural problems of low-growth and economic polarization.
(Korean , Nov. 9, Indonesia-Korea Business Forum)
"My hope is that we can build together a community of people, where the people's hearts are
connected, a community of peace that will contribute to peace in Asia through security
cooperation, and a community of prosperity through mutually beneficial economic cooperation."
, . . .
(Korean) "Economic inequality is one of the most important
issues for South Korea.
Ever since the country opened up its doors when it experienced the Asian Financial Crisis
in 1997 and 1998... it has been suffering from wealth polarization, despite achieving
higher economic growth."
President Moon is also expected to hold a number of bilateral summits including leaders
that are part of the six-party denuclearization talks... including China, Russia and Japan.
His so-called "balanced diplomacy" will be put to test to see whether President Moon
can garner international cooperation and efforts to pressure North Korea to give up its nuclear
and missile programs.
Balanced diplomacy, according to President Moon, aims at securing cooperation from China
on the North Korea issue while maintaining a strong alliance with the U.S.
(English) "I think the concept 'balanced diplomacy'
by President Moon Jae-in is something that is proposed I think has been proposed in a
very timely period of time.
Now the U.S. and China relations are going into much harsher competition now.
The U.S. recovered its economic capabilities and it's not trying to pressure China.
(President) Xi Jinping stabilized his domestic power beginning a very solid second term."
President Moon's biggest task is to get closer with Chinese President Xi Jinping... not only
to resolve issues concerning North Korea, but also to make a breakthrough in resolving
economic tensions stemming from Beijing's retaliatory measures against Seoul's deployment
of the U.S. missile defense system THAAD.
(English) "I think the two countries needed to restore
their relationship.
(President) Xi Jinping needed to restore the relationship with South Korea so that South
Korea would not sideline the U.S. and Japan, which are now trying to sanction and pressure
China.
South Korea needs to restore the relationship because of economic relations."
President Moon's visit to Vietnam comes as an opportune time to promote economic ties,...
as this year marks the 25th anniversary since Seoul and Hanoi first established diplomatic
ties... which led to soaring trade and economic exchanges.
South Korea is Vietnam's number one investing partner as of 2014,... with investments amounting
to 55-point-8-billion U.S. dollars, and trade between the two surpassing 45-billion dollars.

Arrest Warrant for a former defense minister over possible intervention in politics - Duration: 0:38.
An arrest warrant could be issued for an ex-Defense chief for allegedly meddling in politics while
in office.
Seoul Central District Court will announce its decision late Friday night.
Kim Kwan-jin is said to have been involved in the National Security Council and the Cyberwarfare
Command's online activities... to sway public opinion in favor of the Lee Myung-bak government.
The former minister admitted that Lee ordered him to hire people that support the administration.
The measures are in line with the Moon administration's pursuit of reforms to "eliminate ills" that
have accumulated over the years... but the previous governments argues such acts are
political retribution.

Open hearing on Korea-U.S. trade deal turns into chaos - Duration: 1:51.
Trump isn't the only one unhappy with trade deals.
Back here in the nation.
An open hearing about plans to revise the free trade pact between South Korea and the
United States turned violent and wrapped up early when local civic groups expressed their
anger over the FTA situation.
Lee Unshin has the details from the emotion-charged scene.
Eggs were thrown, cuss words were said, and it even got violent - it didn't take long
before Friday's public hearing on the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement turned into a disaster.
The occasion was organized by the Trade Ministry to collect opinions from representatives of
local businesses and industries,... so that they can prepare a more in-depth report for
future negotiations with Washington.
The government officials opened the hearing by briefing the groups on the benefits the
bilateral agreement has brought about,... and what the nation can expect from amending
the deal.
But the statement sparked anger from civic groups from the agricultural and livestock
industries at the hearing.
Before market experts had a chance to report on the detailed analysis,... the civic groups
jumped up, and insisted on speaking.
They claimed their industry had suffered a great deal from the bilateral agreement, and
demanded the Ministry officials take a closer look into the FTA's impact.
They didn't provide detailed insight or numeric data to their claims however.
As the people started turning violent, government officials called an end to the hearing in
the midst of it.
But the Ministry later added that legally they had fulfilled their duty of organizing
an open hearing, and will move onto the next step of filing a report to the National Assembly
based on the day's hearing, as planned.
Korea and the U.S. agreed to revise the 5-year-old Free Trade Agreement earlier this year on
Washington's request.
So far, there have been two rounds of trade talks between the countries,... with no details
on the next meeting confirmed yet.

Korea's Singles' Day hunt for Chinese customers - Duration: 2:20.
November 11th is Singles' Day in China.
An unofficial holiday like Black Friday... that started out as a sort of an anti-Valentine's
Day.
A golden opportunity to make up for losses as Korean companies will be looking for a
turnaround from the difficulties they've been facing recently in that country.
Park Hee-jun explains why Saturday's shopping event could be an indicator of needed changes.
November 11th.
While the double elevens represent Pepero Day in Korea, they stand for a different nationwide
event in China--Singles' Day.
Chinese Singles' Day is the biggest shopping event in the world.
It began when the Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba, began offering massive online bargains
through its platforms.
Just last year, it processed sales of 17-point-8 billion US dollars on Singles' Day.
(standup) ed: Mark "China is excited for Singles' Day...but
in Korea, the biggest question is whether local distributors can find a way to make
up their losses from the THAAD controversy, through the world's biggest retail event."
Korean retailers are going all-in to try and attract Chinese customers who have been delaying
their purchases until Singles' Day.
Cosmetics companies, domestic airlines, department stores, and duty-free operators,... are all
carrying out active online promotions through their websites and various social media services
including Weibo.
And because duty-free customers can receive their products only by travelling to Korea,...
the sales figures from Singles' Day could be a key indicator that shows whether China's
THAAD retaliation is actually coming to an end.
(Korean) - "We are offering various online events and
are hoping that they will lead to an increase in individual tourist sales, amid the thaw
in Korea-China relations.
Korea has recently started to see a slow recovery in the number of Chinese tourists, as seen
on the streets of Myeong-dong,... but there are still some remaining challenges.
(Korean) - "There aren't any evident substantial changes.
A proper recovery requires flights to Korea to be resumed, so that the tourism industry
gets back on track.
Those changes will take approximately 3 to 6 months."
Experts say that if local distributors see high Chinese sales on Singles' Day, it will
be a catalyst for a strong recovery, once China lifts its ban on travel to Korea.

Moon trumpets economic integration, open trade... Moon, Xi one-on-one set for Saturday - Duration: 2:42.
After wrapping up his two-day state visit to Indonesia, South Korean President Moon
Jae-in has moved on to Vietnam to attend the annual APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
Our chief Blue House correspondent Moon Connyoung is traveling with the president.
She joins us live from Danang.
Connyoung, fill us in on the latest.
Leaders of the world's major economies have been flocking to this coastal city in Southeast
Asia... known for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port... for this year's
APEC summit.
From U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to Japanese Prime Minister
Shinzo and Russian President Vladimir Putin... it's a fiesta of great powers here in the
resort city... and South Korean President Moon Jae-in is no exception.
President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook arrived in Danang late afternoon on the second-leg
of his three-nation sweep across Southeast Asia... in which he has been focusing on building
strong ties with the ASEAN region and rally support for his North Korea policy.
It's only been a couple of hours and already the president has trumpeted free trade touting
it as the driving force behind his country's rapid economic development... making it in
the world's top ten in half a century.
Speaking to the APEC Business Advisory Council, Mr. Moon urged economic integration through
open and free trade... calling for the swift establishment of regional economic integration
bodies such as the The Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific Initiatives and Regional
Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Revisiting his 'people-centered economy' initiative, the South Korean leader heralded open, inclusive,
balanced, equitable and innovative growth that does not leave anyone behind.
Multilateral summits like APEC are often used by many leaders as venue for sideline meetings.
We know President Moon has a few scheduled during his stay there.
Absolutely.
The South Korean president has a series of one-on-ones lined up on the margins of the
main event... starting with one with his Vietnamese counterpart Tran dai Quang tomorrow morning.
The highlight of President Moon's bilaterals will most likely be his face-to-face talks
with Chinese President Xi Jinping tomorrow afternoon.
It'll be interesting to see their interaction, the first since the two countries decided
to end a year long diplomatic tension over the deployment of U.S. missile defense system
in South Korea.
So, definitely something to keep an eye on... as most certainly how bilateral relations
between South Korea and China works out will have profound impact on other things in the
region including North Korea.
Daniel.
