S08E04 "Some Guy" - The Most Ridiculous Things From Last Night's The Walking Dead - Duration: 5:53.

- [Narrator] Imagine how obnoxious you have to be

as a human being if your day starts

by putting a red feather in your hair.

And that doesn't even crack the top ten list

of the most annoying shit you do.

Ezekiel delivers another one of his awful speeches

about the weather and smiling that nobody asked for.

And contrary to what the showrunners may believe,

slowly zooming in on his face

does not make the speech any better.

I don't understand how it's possible,

but it somehow makes it worse.

At least Ezekiel understands they need to

kill all these bad guys,

an email Jesus apparently seems to have missed.

Alright, group hug everybody.

I've got a great feeling about this.

Oh no, looks like King Zeke lost some of his ranks.

Think he lost all of his ranks.

Who knew that knee pads

and flowers don't stop high caliber bullets?

Oh this guy only has two huge holes in his back.

Better flip him over just to double check.

Not so smiley now are you Zeke?

Anyone can smile with a tiger by your side.

The real test is being able to smile

when your scooting your ass away

from a couple dosen of your undead friends.

Nice knowing you nameless dudes loading up guns.

Carol's in the building and she makes Liam Neeson

look like a cocker spaniel on Xanax.

I wonder how she's gonna murder them.

Huh, I did not guess she'd be hiding out in the ceiling

and apparently, neither did they.

Wow, this guy sure looks like a creepy sex offender.

It's like one of those high school movies

where the nerdy girl takes off her glasses

and instantly she's hot.

Only this guy puts on his glasses

and instantly looks like the kind of man

who will kill you and have sex with your corpse

on a pile of finger nail clippings

while listening to The Little Mermaid soundtrack.

This doesn't seem like the most opportune moment

to slowly march through a field, talking shit.

Creepy sex offender guy is showing zero hustle

at a time when he should be showing

at least a moderate amount of hustle.

You know considering the wall of zombies behind him

and the unaccounted for tiger on the loose.

But I do have to give him credit.

This was a pretty sick burn.

You got 'em all killed, they're still following ya.

- [Narrator] Nice one creepy sex offender guy.

Carol passed up a perfect opportunity to shoot these dudes

and got out-Caroled by some guys

I'm shocked she didn't know were hiding behind a car

with assault rifles.

Alright, think Carol.

Hide out behind this bullet-proof truck

until the heat dies down.

Creepy sex offender guy makes the rookie villain mistake

of using the time he should be killing

to slowly outline the many unimportant details of his plan.

Details that include, but are not limited to,

disrupting Negan's obvious symmetry.

Ezekiel is trying to recreate one

of Kendall Jenner's most popular Instagram posts.

And Jerry with one of the most satisfying kills

in the history of this or any show.

Slice.

Later Whitmer Thomas.

This actor's name is Whitmer Thomas.

He's a comedian and he's really funny

and you should check him out.

He doesn't wear those glasses in real life.

Attentive viewers of this show

as well as people who were reading

my bad recap articles last season

will remember that Fat Joey of the Saviors died

when Daryl escaped.

Which meant Skinny Joey would now just be known as Joey.

Well, now it looks like the last remaining adult man

who still wants to be referred to as Joey

like some kind of child is also dead.

So to review, first we had two Joeys, then one Joey,

now we're down to zero Joeys.

Welcome to season eight of The Walking Dead.

It's mostly just counting Joeys at this point.

Please don't kill Jerry.

Usually when a character does this much likable stuff

in an episode, it means we're about to say goodbye forever.

Is it a cheap trick to make the weight

of their death feel more intense for the viewer?

You bet. Does it work every time?

Sure does.

Because we're dumb.

If we were smart, we'd be reading books on Sunday.

But instead I'm getting choked up

hearing Jerry say dude twice and I haven't read a full book

in three years.

Please use the comments to let me know

the last time you read a full book.

I'm actually very curious about this.

And yes, I do read all your comments.

Carol has been counting these dudes' bullets

and she's ready to negotiate.

Come out with your hands up and she'll only jam some

of these keys up your ass before stabbing you in the brain.

Aw, shucks, Carol has a real dilemma on her hands.

Does she bail out a couple of dying idiots

or shoot these two strangers in the face?

Those are two of her favorite hobbies.

Nobody told her today would be this tough.

These time jumps are annoying. I don't like them.

And I get what they're going for, I do.

I went to college to earn a useless degree

in media studies, I fucking get it.

But just doing something doesn't make it good or artsy.

Sometimes it's just bad, like these stupid

and very bad time jumps.

In general the episodes this season feel

like they were edited by a 10-year-old

jacked up on Adderall and some new flavor of Mountain Dew.

And while that's probably a rockin' good time

for the 10-year-old, it's giving me a fucking headache.

Wow, just when I'm ready to give up on this show,

they go and do something like this

and drive their way right back into my heart.

I have not laughed this hard in a very long time.

It was awesome.

There's just so much to love.

Ricky G driving directly into gunfire.

The dude driving the car deciding now's a good time

to take his eyes off the road.

Rick's car finally taking the most minimal amount

of damage from these enormous bullets.

Daryl dusting himself off 10 seconds after getting

in a very serious motorcycle wreck.

And the cherry on top of it all.

Rick Grimes effortlessly jumping

between moving cars and stabbing this dude

in the tummy before crashing his car.

Then crawling up the hill to say what up to Daryl,

only to announce they should probably head back down

that hill to see just how dead that guy is.

Ezekiel must be in pretty bad shape.

His real voice just leaked.

This ain't gonna work.

- [Narrator] Keep it down, Your Highness.

You're gonna make Jerry cry.

You wouldn't like him when he cries, it's super sad.

No one likes it when Jerry cries.

It's looking like curtains for old Zeke.

And Shiva shows up to save him

from these very gross mutant sewer zombies.

I really love seeing her whip one last zombie

up in the air like the world's biggest cat toy.

This was also sad like, oddly sad.

In a very weird way, it might be

the saddest death on the show.

And considering we're talking about a poorly CGI-ed tiger,

that really speaks volumes about how unlikeable

some of these humans have been.

I'm speaking of course

mostly about Lori.

Also, here's a fun Easter egg.

For anyone who turned on closed captioning

during this scene.

(melancholy music)

Just kidding, it didn't say that.

But it should have.

I'm available to write closed captions for the show

and my rates are very reasonable.

Sorry, gang, but only people who have had lines

of dialogue survived.

Shiva doesn't count.

Ezekiel sure does have some explaining to do.

And he'll get around to it tomorrow.

Right now it's nap time for the king.

Nobody doth dare to tread heavily

and disturb his royal slumber hour.

Tune in next week.

Will we finally learn what Father Gabriel's been up to?

Father who?

Are we sure that's a character on the show?

I don't even recognize that name at this point.

What adventures will Daryl and Rick get into next?

They're going to steal the Declaration of Independence.

Is Shiva actually dead?

Don't be ridiculous, of course she's not.

She very clearly slid under a dumpster at the last second.

None of this and more next time on The Walking Dead.

NFL Is Freaking Out After Camera Caught What They Tried To Hide At Disrespectful Veterans Day Game. - Duration: 4:48.

NFL Is Freaking Out After Camera Caught What They Tried To Hide At Disrespectful Veterans

Day Game.

After three months of perpetual protests and a continuing decline in ratings and revenue,

the National Football League had a chance to start to mend the problem they created

for themselves by doing the right and respectful thing for Veterans Day games.

While on the surface there seemed to be some show of honor and praise for the military

and our country, the camera caught something else they tried to hide.

Now it's too late for the league as the final nail has been hammered into the coffin

of their season and perhaps the sport and the NFL is freaking out.

While it's appreciated that there was some effort to honor veterans day within the anti-American

NFL, one day of salutes and perhaps more players standing than before, doesn't make up for

three months of disgusting behavior.

The boycott of the NFL is still in full swing but there was something special planned for

this past weekend in knowing that Veteran's Day weekend and football games would collide.

The constant disrespect that these players had shown all season so far wasn't going

to be tolerated by those who have and are currently serving our country.

Using the NFL's favorite excuse for still allowing kneeling during the National Anthem,

that it's a player's right to free speech to make such a statement, veterans and others

who support our military planned their own use of the First Amendment, regardless of

what the league has set up to commemorate this day on their behalf.

A massive Facebook group with hundreds of thousands of followers and likes called for

a nationwide boycott of the National Football League on Veterans Day Weekend.

The site urges fans around the country to change the channel "in solidarity" with

Americans who respect the national anthem, our flag, and those who served to protect

our rights and freedoms.

The official statement from the site urges people not to watch or listen to NFL games

on November 12 in solidarity with veterans around the country, as football players have

continued to disrespect the national anthem, the American flag, and everything our nation

stands for.

And lastly, it adds that until millionaire football players stop protesting the National

Anthem of the United States the site will be there encouraging patriotic Americans to

boycott the National Football League.

True to their word, everyone in the group seemed to follow through with the stated mission

this weekend in a massive protest of their own that sent a very clear message.

Their effort was certainly noticed as cameras caught the emptiest stadiums seen this season,

with far more vacant seats than filled ones.

"The Houston Texans are playing the Los Angeles Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

this Sunday and it looks like the kneeling controversy is still hurting attendance in

a big way," according to the Gateway Pundit.

AP Reports:

The Houston Texans defense is off to an impressive start against the high-powered Rams offense.Jadeveon

Clowney and his teammates limited Jared Goff and the Rams to 131 total yards in the first

half at the Coliseum, keeping Los Angeles out of the end zone entirely.

The Rams entered the game with the NFL's highest-scoring offense at 32.9 points per

game.Greg Zuerlein hit three field goals for the Rams, who led 9-7 at halftime.

Zuerlein has already surpassed his previous career-high for a season with 27 field goals

in the first nine games for the Rams, who are mediocre in the red zone despite their

prolific points totals.

Fox LA sports anchor Liz Habib took snaps of today's game showing a more than half

empty Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The stadium is more than half empty well into the first quarter.

Soldier Field had an especially depressing show of fans, or lack thereof.

This comes after months of NFL players publicly protesting the performance of the Star-Spangled

Banner during pre-game ceremonies which has caused millions of fed up fans to change the

channel, stop buying NFL merchandise and boycotting their sponsors.

The fact that there is so much resistance now against their show of resistance, with

no signs of slowing down, shows that there's no coming back from the destruction they have

caused this industry, at least anytime soon.

We all know most football players are illiterates who really don't seem to be able to understand

the negative repercussions their actions will have, but the owners should know better, at

least if they care about saving their massive investment.

That doesn't seem to be the case as they prioritize allowing players to make a point

over making profits.

The should have told these entitled players from the start, "You don't stand for the

anthem, you don't play!"

It would have been so simple and would have saved their season but now that time to do

something about it has long since passed and everything they desperately do now is only

seen a move made in vain.

what do you think about this?

Finance & Business English Dialogue | Prepare for IELTS Test & TOEFL Test - Duration: 6:37.

Howdy, howdy, howdy! "Look! I'm Woody!" Howdy, howdy, howdy!"

Don't say howdy, guys. It's just a joke. The topic today is finance,

the world of business, and specifically we're going to be talking about taxes!

this video is brought to you by amazing patrons like you! later today for those

patrons, the extra vocabulary review video will be available. and of course

everybody else can experiment with the new vocabulary in the comments of this

video. the most important thing of course always is the three dots. click that! open

transcript. it will be so much easier to read, use the imitation technique. well I

think that is it. let's start this article from Pro Publica: the tax plan's

mega gift to some of trumps richest appointees, by Allen Sloan. the Republican

proposal will not only allow them to pass millions or billions to their heirs

without inheritance taxes, it will also add another benefit on top of that. let's

start right away with some review. An appointee is a person that you give a

job or role. you appoint them, you select them and they are assigned. an heir is

someone who is legally entitled, is given by law something that belonged to

someone else after they pass away or die. in the process of this, this exchange

from property, land, something you own going from one person, the deceased, to

another person, usually a younger relative, is called inheritance. in the

U.S. there is something called the inheritance tax. when this process

happens with extreme quantities of wealth there is a tax, and what Donald

Trump wants to do is reduce this tax. also a point here about writing: this is

a very good introduction. and this is what you should do in your essays! tell

us the subject and tell us what parts of the subject specifically, although very

quickly and without very much detail, you are going to analyze. so we know that it

is related to a Republican proposal, specifically about the inheritance tax,

and we know that we are going to discuss how it affects or impacts certain

members of Trump's cabinet, his closest political advisors. let's go on.

there are times that you run across something that's so preposterous that

it's hard to believe it's true, but in this case it is. I'm talking about the

multiple and permanent set of tax breaks that some of the Trump administration's

mega-wealthy appointees and their heirs stand to get if the estate tax repeal in

the House Republicans tax bill becomes law. the appointees I'm talking about are

those with a net worth above eleven million dollars, which is a lot of them.

who sold assets that the office of government ethics said would pose

conflict of interest problems in their new gigs. combine the rules that cover

such sales with terms of the proposed estate tax repeal, and these people get a

multi-level, multi-generational bonanza. a gift that would keep on giving and

giving and giving. damn we've got so much good vocabulary here. if something

is preposterous, it is the opposite of common sense. it is absurd, silly,

ridiculous. the author of this article does not agree with this new repeal, this

new change, taking away of the inheritance tax. to stand to get

something, means to potentially, possibly get something. likely get something. so

here, the mega wealthy, the super wealthy and rich in the U.S. stand to get, they

potentially or will possibly– probably get a lot more money. a gig is a very

informal but very common way of describing your job. oftentimes a gig is

a job that's more temporary. musicians have gigs, it's a performance. you won't

often describe your desk job or your typical job as a gig, again because it

sounds more temporary. or something you do just once. a bonanza means good

fortune. a situation or event that creates a sudden increase in wealth.

so here the wealthy are going to experience a bonanza.

they're going to get more money. let's continue: I couldn't believe what I was

reading and figured that I might be overly eager to uncover gifts to the

ultra rich in the house tax cut bill. which is by no means tax reform, because

it hurts millions of taxpayers in my home state of New Jersey and other

places that aren't reliably Republican. but bestows plenty of breaks on big

businesses and the rich. so I asked tax expert Bob

Willens of Robert Willens LLC, whom I've for decades, to show me where I

was making a mistake. it turned out that Willens couldn't believe what he was

reading either. when he parsed the proposed estate tax repeal provisions, "I

had to read that about eight times" Willens told me. "it defies description.

it's unheard of. it's unbelievable" now let me show you why. and why mega-wealthy

Trump appointees and their heirs would get level after level after level of tax goodies.

Even more than regular rich people would get. this is interesting

this very last sentence that I read you. these are the types of transitions that

you should be using in your writing. don't simply go from one topic to the

next, you need to use transitions. a way to easily go from one topic and then let

us know "hey! we're going to a different topic now – so get ready!"

that is good writing, and simply by using this transitional vocabulary, or

transitional sentences, you will get extra points even if your argument is

terrible and your grammar is bad. so remember that! Uh, let's review a couple

words here! if something is reliable it is dependable, constant and regular. so

places that aren't reliably Republican, it means that sometimes these people

vote for Democrats, and sometimes they vote for Republicans. I'll be explaining

more about the American politics in the patron review video. to bestow something,

means to gift something to someone. to give as a present, a kind of a luxury. so

if you bestow something on or on to someone else, it's really uh, it's really out

of your generosity. to consult with someone is to share or ask for advice.

also to seek or share information. if you are a consultant, people come to you for

advice. and that's why if you want to consult with me I am gladly your

consultant! so put any questions in the comments box.

if you want to continue the article, the link is in the description. and all those

other goodies, for free audiobooks, free magazines or other books to read. all of

that stuff is in the comments too! Always a pleasure! Toodaloo, guys. Ciao

for now!

Mastery by Robert Greene Animated Summary Part 3 - Duration: 6:02.

Hey everyone, Daniel here from Next Level Life and welcome to part 3 of our review of

Robert Greene's book "Mastery."

If you missed part 2 where we talked about how to find the ideal apprenticeship, you

can find a link to it as well as a link to part 1 in the description below this video

or by clicking on the card in the upper right hand corner of this video.

Today we're going to be tackling another key part of the ideal apprenticeship: And

that's the mentor and apprentice dynamic.

I'm going to touch on how to choose the right mentor, as well as a major trap to keep

an eye out for during the process.

Now some of you might feel that an apprenticeship is an old idea, certainly something that was

popular in the past but it's not exactly the best way to learn today.

Well that's actually not entirely true.

There is some truth to it, in the sense that how we find our mentors has changed a lot

over the years.

For example, with the internet you don't actually have to physically go out and find

a mentor anymore.

You can find them online and learn from them through what they say on their blogs or videos,

kind of like what you're doing now.

And then if you want to take things a little further, and at some point you should, you

can try to contact them and see if you can work with them and learn how they do what

they do a little more deeply.

Because let's face it there's only so much that can be written about in a blog post.

Especially when the mentor may not be fully conscious of what makes them so effective

at what they do and so they can't truly put it into words.

But the main thing that hasn't changed over the last several millennia is how we, as humans,

best learn new skills.

And that's by watching others who know how to do what we're trying to learn and mimicking

what they do, at least until we're developed enough of that muscle memory ourselves that

we can start experimenting on our own like I talked about in part 2.

And that's why finding a mentor is so crucial on your path to mastery.

Life is short: You can't afford to spend a few months trying to learn things yourself

that a mentor could've taught you in a few hours.

So when choosing a mentor, especially your first mentors, make sure you're looking

for one that has a wide knowledge and experience base in your field.

They can train you to think on a much higher level, taking knowledge from many different

points of view in order to form your own opinion than someone who is more specialized can.

Also make sure that they fit your needs.

You don't want to choose a mentor simply because of their stature or knowledge if they're

so domineering that you aren't allowed to explore your own ideas and expand your knowledge

base on your own.

So once you've found your mentor and got a basic understanding of the field for yourself,

find a way to get person-to-person access with the mentor, in any way that you can.

Michael Faraday's story is probably the easiest way to illustrate this process.

Faraday was a famous scientist who contributed heavily to the field of electromagnetism.

However as the son of a blacksmith in the early 1800s this life seemed out of his reach.

In 1800s London, the sciences were mostly restricted to those who had University degrees,

which at the time basically meant those from the upper class.

Eventually Faraday got a job in a local bookstore where he came across a book called "improvement

of the mind."

This book encouraged Faraday, who had recently become interested in electromagnetism thanks

to another book, to recreate the experiments that had led to the recent discoveries in

the field.

He also began attending scientific lectures where he would take concise notes on the material

presented.

These notes eventually came to the attention of William Dance, who was a member of the

Royal Institution.

Surprised at how concisely Faraday had managed to explain complex topics, he invited Faraday

to attend a series of lectures given by one of the top chemists of the day: Humphry Davy,

who would later become Faraday's mentor.

Faraday's knowledge grew quickly thanks to Davy's tutelage and he soon became an

accomplished chemist in his own right.

He was doing his own independent research but soon an unpleasant reality became clear

to him: Davy was keeping Faraday under his thumb.

Davy had grown dependent on Faraday's services.

And despite his growing skill, Faraday was still being treated as a mere lab assistant.

Faraday would eventually make a discovery that would give him the reputation he needed

to break away from Davy and become an independent member of the scientific community.

He published his findings, but Davy claimed that Faraday had merely plagiarized his work.

Faraday managed to prove to the community that the findings were his own, but Davy refused

to let the matter drop and even tried to block Faraday's nomination into the Royal Institution.

Davy would also go on to claim partial credit for later discoveries Faraday made.

Davy seemed to believe that he had created Faraday from nothing and so was responsible

for everything he did.

At that point, Faraday had heard enough, he would never speak with Davy again and would

go on to become one of the most famous practitioners of experimental science.

Remember mentors have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Davy did a great job increasing Faraday's knowledge and giving him all the tools he

needed to succeed.

But, he also became very dependent on Faraday's services as an assistant and viewed him too

possessively which led to him claiming partial credit on Faraday's work.

And that's always something you want to keep in mind with your mentors.

None of them are perfect.

The good ones will allow you to develop your own style and then leave them when the time

is right.

But others will grow a little too dependent on your services.
