Youtube daily Nov 7 2017

Not everything that's impossible

is actually impossible.

Just think back to how it must have sounded, when a couple of people said

they were going to organize all the information in the whole world.

Or that one day, we'd be able to see every place on earth

without actually going there.

Sometimes impossible things are just problems we haven't solved yet.

So how does the impossible become possible?

Well, it often starts with people like these.

They're engineers, researchers, designers, scientists, and inventors.

People experimenting, rethinking, and creating new technology

to challenge the impossible.

At the Google R&D Center in Israel

they're inventing new ways to help everyone ask questions.

Wherever they are on the web

in the world

and in almost every language.

Even predicting their next question.

They're making it quicker for everyone to find answers,

discover more answers

get them in real time

and working to make it all run faster.

Way faster.

They're helping everyone access their accounts when they need them.

And helping people access information when they need it most.

They're creating tools so everyone can share their sites with the world.

And using the cloud to give more people access

to those sites in more places.

They're making it possible for everyone to read a piece of history

to see more of the world from anywhere in the world

to get to places faster

and see what the world is searching for.

They're thinking of what might be possible in the future

or Search, the Cloud, and how machine learning and AI

could create new tools millions might need someday.

Ones that might even help others to solve a few problems of their own.

The challenges aren't going to be easy.

And some of them may even sound impossible.

But then again…

So did a lot of other things.

Google's Virtual Career Fair - Duration: 8:53.

hi my name is Devin and I'm a software engineer here at Google and I'm Jesse

I'm on the university programs team here at Google and welcome to our virtual

career fair this is our video series where the career fair comes to you

in this video we'll go over lots of important information about working at

Google including Google's culture the types of jobs that we hire for how to

apply it with a couple application tips and then we'll finish it off with an

overview of our interview process and we also have a separate FAQ video

where we're gonna answer the most popular questions that we get at career

fair so definitely check that out and to make things easy we split everything in

the handy dandy chapters with links below so now let's start talking about a

Google culture when they first started our founders set out to build something

really useful for people a way to organize the world's information and

make it universally accessible and useful today we've moved well beyond

search as you can see but we're still looking for answers to that big question

and many others at the end of the day we aim to build technology that helps

people live happier in easier lives being a Googler it's all about wanting

to make a positive impact on users lives and we aim for big impact we look for

people who are curious who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo ask the

tough questions or push the boundaries we found that focusing merely on 10%

improvements while great inevitably leaves you focused on building upon

existing tools and assumptions instead Google likes to think at 10x.

It boils down to reaching all the users because all users are important it's not enough

to solve the problem for one type of user or in one place we're fortunate and

that we are a big company and Google's resources can help us make that type of

impact I'm talking about things like our code base and our values and the

incredible people you work with and can bounce ideas off of these are our most

valuable resources that make Google such a unique place to innovate alright it is

time to talk about googliness googliness can be neatly defined but it's what

enables Googlers to thrive and contribute positively to our culture to

take a stab at it it means being comfortable with

ambiguity having a certain dose of intellectual humility being

biased towards action and having a collaborative nature it also means you

can adapt to change in our fast-paced environment and that you'll have fun

along the way yep all right no Googler makes this type

of impact alone in order to build products and solutions that work for all

users we need diverse perspectives within our own teams that's why we're

committed to increasing diversity both inside Google and across the tech

industry we focused our efforts in three areas

number one expanding the ways we find and hire our next Googlers number two

bringing computer science education to more students makers and future Googlers

and number three ensuring that all communities can access and benefit from

the web and we want to ensure every Googler can thrive it's important that

every Googler feels included and supported inside and outside of work we

want Googlers to feel comfortable to share ideas bring their whole selves to

work their family their hobbies their interest and their sense of humor one

key pillar is creating an inclusive environment for Googlers while at work

the other component is supporting our Googlers and their families outside of

work we're constantly evolving our benefits to support our growing aging

and multiplying Googlers all over the world and we work hard to make Google

the best workplace possible we do this through our benefits workplace design

perks and culture you might not realize that there's a lot of thought behind all

of our perks but what we really want is for Googlers to have meaning in their

work and be able to express their voice we want people who are inspired by our

mission and our culture when hiring new Googlers we hope they'll join us and

build their careers here careers are personal there's no one right path and

that's certainly true at Google there are so many opportunities to pursue an

exciting challenges to tackle across different teams regardless of which path

you take we are committed to helping you grow and improve your skills along the

way

here at Google we have a lot more jobs available than some may think it's true

we have roles in sales engineering finance technical writing design and

even more than that our career site has a lot more information

but for now we'll try to help so let's first talk about full-time jobs of

course engineering roles are going to be available at Google software engineering

but it's not just that we also have site reliability engineers tools and

infrastructure engineers product managers and analysts we also have roles

in user experience as well as some jobs in hardware and on the business side we

have roles on our sales team where you'd be working with small and medium

businesses as well as roles on the global customer experience team GTECH

roles and finance people operations marketing and more so now let's talk

about our engineering and technical programs and internships we have

programs whether you're in your first year of college or you're working

towards your PhD yeah and some specific programs that we like to mention our

engineering residency program engineering practicum and our PhD

internship so check those out we also have programs for interns outside of the

US like our step program as well as internships in engineering and again on

the business side we also have varied programs including our bold internship

and in a few locations outside of the US we have a business internship that's all

about real-world experience our MBA internship has roles and sales GTECH

corporate finance people operations and a lot other places and don't forget

we've mentioned it before but our career site has details on all of our roles

internships and programs so be sure to head over there

all right let's now dive into our application process so applying to

Google is pretty simple first you're going to find the role that's the best

for you so the qualifications listed in the job

descriptions are there to help you select the role that best fits both your

background and aspirations so pay close attention

recruiters review applications with these in mind once you find the role

make sure your resume is in tip-top shape and we have some helpful links for

that below you then submit your application online at our career site

we'll need your resume and if you're a recent graduate looking for an

internship or if the description asks for it we'll need your transcript but an

unofficial one is fine there is no need for cover letters though so take that

time to make sure your resume is zero errors yeah and after you apply you'll

wait we know waiting isn't the most fun but it does take time to go through

resumes and we'll reach out to you to let you know if you've moved forward

generally if you haven't heard from us in a few months the rule was probably

filled and if you hear from us that you'll be moving forward in the hiring

process great now you're on to the interview stage

okay now we're gonna dive into the interview process so here at Google we

interview a little differently that's true and the most in-depth resource for

this is the how we hire section of our career site that is a great resource in

this video we're gonna go over the basics of the process for you so many of

our roles require one or more phone interviews these are going to be about

30 to 60 minute calls with someone with role related knowledge sometimes this

means with a recruiter your recruiter is going to give you all the details before

you take that first call and in some cases the next step if you move past the

phone interviews is the on-site interview around although many

internships don't require this step on-site interviews arroyo meet Googlers

face-to-face for interviews usually 30 to 45 minutes each if you're going for a

technical or an engineering role we'll want to see those coding skills and if

you're going for a business role you'll demonstrate your role related knowledge

and again please make sure to check out our links for much more in depth

information for interviewing and your recruiter is also going to give you all

the details about your interviews if you move past the interview around your

application packet which contains your resume any other submitted work

information and your interviewer referral feedback this will go to our

hiring committee and if an offer is to be extended it'll go through our

executive review and again your recruiter is the best resource for all

information they're going to make sure that you're up to date and explain the

process in as much detail as possible

thank you for visiting our virtual career fair check out all of the helpful

links below and make sure to follow our Google students channels to keep up with

us thanks for visiting

After Reporter Attacks Sarah Sanders' Weight, Sarah's MOM Lets Hell Break Lose On Him. - Duration: 1:46.

After Reporter Attacks Sarah Sanders' Weight, Sarah's MOM Lets Hell Break Lose On Him.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is one tough cookie — but don't call her mom a "southern

hamburger."

Sarah will brush it off, but her mother will NOT.

Earlier this year, SNL used the term "southern hamburger" to disparage Sanders' weight.

The backlash was immediate among conservative circles, but the harassment didn't end.

This past Saturday, SNL featured a pantsless depiction of Sarah Sanders rubbing her breasts

and gyrating around the press briefing room.

Meanwhile, two newspaper reporters doubled-down on the attacks against the press secretary's

appearance.

LA Times reporter David Horsey even called Sanders a "slightly chunky soccer mom"

and ran a cartoon calling her a "big mother."

And that did NOT please Sarah Huckabee Sanders' REAL mother.

After seeing the piece in the Times, Mrs. Huckabee wrote a SCATHING letter to the journalist

that the LA Times refused to print.

The journalist did, however, tell a New York Times reporter, "She was mad, but she was

good about it.

It wasn't anything like the really nasty stuff."

OF COURSE Mrs. Huckabee wasn't nasty — that's not her family's style.

They're classy, Christian people.

But lord knows that reporter was probably given a good fright when he got that letter.

We all know, you never mess with mama bear.

She'll protect her cubs.

Comment "go mom!" and SHARE if you love the fact that Sarah's mom is fighting for

her daughter!

Sarah can handle herself, but it's wonderful to see her mom step in when she feels wronged.

What do you think about this?

How to make Kwanzaa knit Crochet Thread Angel Tutorial English Subtitles Translations Teresa - Duration: 16:09.

this will be a tutorial for a thread angel I'm using a size 2 steel crochet

hook and size 10 crochet cotton I'm going to start off with the Magic Loop

Magic Circle chain 3 I'm going to do 11 more double crochet in the loop

I'll pull your circle

join in the beginning chain three chain

three and now do a double crochet in the same double crochet and two in each

stitch around for a total of 24

you'll have a total of 24 double crochet on round 2 with your beginning chain

three counting is your first double crochet

now join in the beginning chain three chain two and slip stitch in each double

crochet around chain two and slip stitch

chained to and slip stitch and there's what it's looking like and this is the

head

now so stitch in your beginning stitch

slip stitch over to the chain two space

now for the wings we do a chain three and five more double crochet in the same

chain two space

chain three turn

double crocheting the same double crochet and two double crochet in each

double crochet thereafter for a total of 12 double crochet

chain three turn double crochet in the same double crochet two double crochet

in each double crochet for a total of 24

this is what it's looking like so far cut off your thread and secure it

now skip over to stitch 11 we're going to be working across 11 12 13 and 14

chain three do two more double crochet in the same double crochet and in the

next three stitches do three double crochet for a total of 12

chain three double crochet in the same double crochet is the chain three two

double crochet in each double crochet for a total of twenty-four

now chain for

skip one stitch double crochet in the next chain one skip a stitch double

crochet in the next chain one skip a stitch double crochet in the next and

continue across

I'm at the end here doing my last chain one you can see my last stitch is in the

second to the last double crochet so go ahead and do a chain one and double

crochet in the beginning chain three

this is one of those patterns that it doesn't have to be perfect

now we chain three and three double crochet in the space

double crochet in the double crochet

three double crochet in the space

double crochet in the double crochet and continue that on across

and three double crochet in the last space and double crochet in the

beginning chain three this is what we have so far

chain three turn one double crochet in each double crochet across an exact

count of stitches with row four and five is not going to matter as long as you

are getting the general shape of the dress

and now for the edging I'm going to chain to turn and slip stitch in each

stitch across chain 2 slip stitch chain 2 slip stitch chain 2 slip stitch chain

2 slip stitch and continue on across

I've finished up and now I'm going to cut off my thread

and then there's what we have now I'm going to take and do the same edging

along the wings just attach the thread here in the beginning stitch chain 2

slip stitch in the next stitch chain 2

slip stitch chain 2 slip stitch chain 2 and slip stitch

and then when you get over here to the center you can just keep going right on

across chain to just find a place in here and do a slip stitch you can do

about four of them chained to

slip stitch chain too

slip stitch chain too

slip stitch chain 2 and continue with the other side of your link chain 2 slip

stitch

now cut your thread and then this is what we have you have a little ruffle

across the front there now we need to sew in the tails and sew in the tails

will be pretty much the same for the whole thing

make sure you sew this one in really good because it is the magic circle and

it needs to have some really secure knots in it

you know I'm just going to weave it in here between the stitches it's done

pretty much the same as you are only it's just smaller I'm just going to hide

it in there

and cut it off and the same with the rest of the tails they're all sewn in

pretty much the same way as yarn you just leave them in

do you just find a place and so um in

and cut it off and there's what it looks like complete of course you might want

to press it and here are some of the other ones that I've made I've made some

of the heads a little bit smaller experimenting and you can do the same if

you want to make your head smaller

Amazing Things You Didn't Know About Warren Buffett! - Duration: 10:13.

Here are facts about warren buffet that you probably didn't know!

10 - Wait, at what age?!

By now you're well aware of the fact that Warren Buffett is super rich.

And he's been rich for a lonnnnnng time now.

However, did you guys know that he earned basically all of the money he's had since

his 50th birthday!

About 99 percent of it in fact.

This one is basically math and the power of compounding.

By the time he reached 52, he was worth just a measly $376 million dollars.

Now compare that to the $80 and a half billion he's worth now!

Thanks to continued smart investing on the part of Buffett, and the power of compounding,

he became a billionaire by age 56.

Over the last 30 years, his net worth has only continued to skyrocket.

9 - Hey, at least he's sent one!

Maybe Hillary Clinton could learn a thing or two from Warren Buffett.

Somehow, someway, Buffett has only sent ONE email in his entire life.

He runs Berkshire Hathaway using 20th century technology!

He prefers to conduct his empire the old fashioned way, or if he's feeling fancy, he might

call someone on his Nokia Flip phone.

The one email he did send was to Jeff Raikes of Microsoft back in 1997.

In an interview with CNN, Buffett claimed that that email ended up in court in Minneapolis...so

he's pretty much shied away from email ever since.

Buffet was responding to an email sent by Raikes, who was analyzing the pros and cons

of investing with Microsoft.

Buffett is known to personally avoid technology for the most part, opting to not keep a computer

on his work desk.

However, he still has plenty of investments in the technology sector….in a roundabout

way at least.

At the very least, he fully understands the prominent place technology has in our economy

as he's sold off Berkshire's stakes in FOX and IBM.

Those moves are a that Buffett doesn't have much confidence in their ability to thrive

against new forms of technology such as Netflix and Google.

8 - Did someone say junk food?

Imagine for a second that you're worth $80.5 BILLION dollars like Warren Buffet.

Now think of all the extravagant meals you could have any time you wanted.

It's impossible to go broke eating the most expensive food as much as possible when you're

worth as much as Warren Buffett.

Buuuuuut, for Warren Buffett, he prefers a cheeseburger and cherry coke to a fancy steak

and caviar that many high rollers love to indulge in.

But of course, Buffet isn't your average multi billionaire.

Somehow, the 87-year old Buffett faces no such dietary restrictions.

In fact, by his own estimation he consumes somewhere in the ballpark of 2,700 calories

per day.

This is achieved largely because he drinks at least FIVE 12 ounce cokes every day, starting

with one for breakfast.

Sometimes, he'll even eat chocolate chip ice cream for breakfast!

And then there's his love for McDonald's.

Buffett actually eats breakfast at Mickie D's almost every single day.

CNBC reported that once, while dining with Bill Gates at Mickey D's, Buffett picked

up the tab.

But get this: He used coupons to pay!

Now that's……….I guess the type of discipline you need to invest like Buffett.

So while the rest of us are counting carbs, Buffett is chowing down on burgers, ice cream

and bacon egg and cheese sandwiches while chugging almost half a dozen Cokes every day.

Not only has he avoided diabetes and morbid obesity, he's managed to make it 87.

7 - Buffet's first business was…...

From the time he was old enough to understand that you need money in order to survive, Warren

Buffett has been an entrepreneur.

At age seven, he began making money by selling chewing gum and sodas to his classmates.

He also had his own paper route, delivering newspapers for the Washington Post.

By age 11, he made his first ever investment.

It was December 7, 1941 the same day Pearl Harbor happened, when Buffett bought three

shares of stock in Citgo and three for his sister for a price of $38.

He sold used golf balls, he buffed cars, and by the time he was 16, he had amassed roughly

53 thousand dollars in today's money!

By age 17, he had his own business setting up pinball machines in barbershops.

These days, he says he wants kids to take a page out of his book and become entrepreneurs

as well.

That's why he helped create The Secret Millionaires Club to help kids start their own businesses

early in life so they can develop good financial habits early on in life...which he argues

will help them later on.

6 - As a Kid, He was a Troublemaker Despite Buffett's entrepreneurial endeavors

as a kid, Buffett was apparently one extremely mischievous little kid.

In his biography, The Snowball, Buffett recounts how he and his friends would hit up their

local Sears and quote "rob the place blind".

He confessed to stealing hundreds of golf balls, which if you consider the fact that

he sold golf balls as a young kid, you could pretty much make the case that he was running

organized crime unit at a young age!

Okay, let's not get too carried away here.

Anyways, he also reportedly had poor grades for a little while in school and even ran

away from home.

He also decided to sort of give a proverbial middle finger to all of his teachers once.

Back in those days, AT&T was a stock that apparently all of Buffett's teachers owned

at one time.

And of course, Buffett had a reputation for knowing what he was doing in the market.

He came to the conclusion that AT&T was a company that was overvalued, and he decided

to short the stock, and then he told all this teachers about it just to spite them.

Buuuuuut they knew he was right!

Of course, since then he's gotten his act together and has become one of the world's

most prolific investors and philanthropist.

5 - Which granddaughter?!

In 2008, reports claimed that Buffett had disowned his adopted granddaughter, Nicole.

According to Reuters, Nicole, who was the adopted daughter of Buffett's son, Peter,

participated in a documentary called "The One Percent", which was a documentary about

family members of the country's wealthiest people.

This apparently caused some friction within the family.

Nicole claimed that she decided to share what it's like to be Buffett's granddaughter,

and she didn't think it was a big deal.

Buuut it created a huge estrangement from Buffett to the extent that he disowned Nicole

and her twin sister.

Reuters also reached out to a source close to the family who pointed out that Buffett

wasn't all that close to Nicole, since she and her twin sister were adopted in their

late teens.

Buffett allegedly rarely saw either of them, even though he paid for their schooling and

living expenses into their late 20's.

Apparently Buffett was upset that they spoke about his private life in a documentary while

misrepresenting their relationship with him, which if you ask me, I'm completely on his

side, and I have no issues with this one!

4 - Who really should go to college?!

Given that he was a hard working entrepreneur at an early age, Buffett had acquired quite

a bit of wealth by the time he was at an age for college.

The fact that he already had the tools to run a business and he was already earning

more money than his teachers, he really saw no reason to go to college, a fact that I'd

agree with today!

However, his father convinced him to go, and he eventually attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

and then went to business school at Columbia where he earned his Masters of Science in

Economics….and believe it or not, he went there after Harvard Business school rejected

him.

Buffett had even already told a friend, "Join me at Harvard."

But it was this rejection that helped shape Buffett into the investor he is today.

These days, Buffett cautions that higher education isn't for everyone and everyone would be

wise to invest in themselves.

3 - Floyd "Money" Mayweather You might be surprised to know that Warren

Buffett and Floyd Mayweather are actually friends.

Then again, neither of them do things the conventional way, and they both love to make

money since it's another way of keeping score in life, so it sort of makes sense.

After watching Floyd Mayweather taking on and beating Marcos Maidana, Buffett praised

Mayweather's fighting, asserting that it was much easier to be an investor than a boxer.

For his part, Mayweather has listed Buffett as one of his inspirations, claiming he looks

up to his fellow billionaire.

Mayweather also claimed that he looked up to Bill Gates and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark

Cuban, while growing up in the difficult neighborhoods of Grand Rapids Michigan.

These two are certainly an odd pairing, but hey they seems to enjoy each other's company.

Buffett even visited Mayweather and The Money Team at Mayweather's boxing club and before

Mayweather's rematch with Maidana.

Buffet and Mayweather both got in front of the green screen and posed like they're

boxing each other for pics!

2 - Dale Carnegie's Public Speaking Course To understand the one of most successful people

in the world, it helps to understand one of Buffett's most important moments in his

life.

Before he took the Dale Carnegie course for public speaking he was terrified of public

speaking.

He said that taking the course changed his life, and it taught him how to face his fears.

Buffett claimed that he was so terrified that he just couldn't speak in public and that

he'd throw up!

In fact, he'd arranged his life so that he never had to get up in front of anybody.

When he was 19, Buffett enrolled in Dale Carnegie's course for public speaking and it changed

his life.

While he has two degrees, Buffet says the most important degree that he got was from

the Dale Carnegie course, and it's the only degree he proudly hangs on his office wall.

Buffet credits this course for giving him the confidence to speak in public and propose

to his first wife Susan, to whom he was married for 52 years.

1 - Reputation Above all Else

"It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.

If you think about that, you'll do things differently."

That's how Buffett runs his life, and it's how he handles his business as well.

It provides some insight into his guiding philosophy.

In fact, he's said that his reputation is his most important asset.

For a guy worth more than $80 billion, that's really saying something.

In a memo to his managers at Berkshire he once wrote...We can afford to lose money — even

a lot of money.

But we can't afford to lose reputation — even a shred of reputation."

He's even said a similar quote, saying to Salomon Brothers employees quote, "lose

money for the firm and I will be understanding; lose a shred of reputation for the firm, and

I will be ruthless."

Yikes, didn't see THAT in Warren Buffett!

Take away all the money, the success and all of the other things, the thing that matters

most to Buffett, is his reputation.

Here's what's next!
