10 TV Facts You Didn't Know About Game of Thrones - Duration: 5:47.

As popular as George R. R. Martin's fantasy novels may have been, nobody would ever have

expected the HBO series to become a global phenomenon. But as is usually the case, the

live-action version is just a slice of the real story, and packed with cool easter eggs

most people will never realize. Share this video with your Game of Thrones-addicted friends,

and see how many of them already know these 10 Facts You Never Knew About Game of Thrones.

Jon Snow's Banner

The fact that Jon Snow is an illegitimate son of Ned Stark is driven home early – hence

his last name - and bastard sons are all over the story. But one fact that didn't make

the jump from book to TV show is that in this fantasy world, bastards don't get to carry

the banners of their family – but they CAN carry ones with the colors reversed. Since

the Stark sigil is a grey wolf on white, Jon Snow carries a white wolf on grey in the books.

It makes his nickname as King of the North - "The White Wolf" – way more meaningful,

and confirms that the Direwolves found by the Stark sons was undeniably a message from

the Gods.

Ramsay Almost Played Jon Snow

It didn't take long for audiences to absolutely despise Ramsey Bolton, but if things had worked

out differently, they might have been cheering for him. Actor Iwan Rheon ("IH-Wahn Ray-On")

originally auditioned for the part of Jon Snow, and ended up coming down to the final

two choices beside Kit Harington. Which makes their rivalry in Season 6 seem like a particularly

personal one.

George R. R. Martin Had a Cameo

With George R.R. Martin responsible for dreaming up this treacherous world, you would think

he would have landed a part in the show himself – but his cameo actually already happened.

Martin played a wealthy nobleman from Pentos at the wedding of Danaerys to Khal Drogo in

the pilot episode. But when most of the pilot was later re-filmed – and actress Tamzin

Merchant was replaced by Emilia Clarke – the entire sequence had to be cut… the author's

cameo along with it.

Tywin's Butchering Scene Was Real

The noble and fearsome Tywin Lannister didn't actually appear until the show's seventh

episode, but he made a memorable entrance, butchering and skinning a stag while giving

his son a lecture. The scene showed he wasn't afraid of getting his hands dirty – and

the same was true of the actor, Charles Dance. After being shown how to butcher a stag the

day before, he did it for real – on a stag just as real – for the camera. He was happy

with the result… but not the smell, which stayed on his hands for days.

King Tommen's debut

Even for devoted fans, the arrival of Tommen Baratheon to the throne came as a surprise,

or downright confusing. The reason why nobody remembered King Joffrey's innocent younger

brother? Because he had already appeared on the show as Queen Cersei's first cousin,

Martyn, held hostage, then murdered in Riverrun (in S3E5). Actor Dean-Charles Chapman made

a good impression, and later replaced the MUCH younger version of Tommen who had appeared

previously (he debuts in Season 4).

The Show Leading The Books

The current seasons of Game of Thrones have actually gotten ahead of the books, but there

aren't many cases of the HBO series actually changing Martin's ideas… with one exception.

The Wildling named "Osha" had only a small role in the books, but Martin was so impressed

with actress Natalia Tena, he admitted he would write her differently when she returns

– making her younger, and more sarcastic (first appears S1E6).

A More Scully Cersei

The amount of British actors who were sought out or auditioned for the HBO series is too

big count, but one actress would have been familiar to the show's Comic-Con fandom.

Actress Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame has said she was offered a part, but turned it

down sicne it would've taken her away from her family. She didn't say which role, but

the part of Queen Cersei Lannister is a frontrunner – along with the Red Priestess, Melisandre.

Either of which would have given her fans some truly memorable scenes.

Violet Eyes

The Targaryens are referred to in the TV show as "dragons," descendants of ancient Valyria

and therefore, almost a different kind of human than the rest (or so they would like

to be believed). But one of their most recognizable traits was removed from the show: their platinum

blonde hair is rare, but the purple eye color was even more so. In the books, it was a clear

sign of Valyrian blood. But when the actors playing Danaerys and Viserys had trouble focusing

with the violet eye contacts in place, the showrunners decided to scrap the idea entirely.

The Real Valyrian Steel

If you had made your family into a proud House of Westeros centuries in the past, you might

even have gotten a sword of Valyrian Steel to immortalize it. The metal is given almost

magical properties in the books and TV show, since swords of Valyrian steel never dull,

never break, and are easily spotted by the flowing water pattern on its surface. It may

sound like fantasy, but it's based on the real world Damascus Steel, a strong, sharp

metal with the same patterns. Like Valyrian, the recipe for making Damscus Steel was also

lost in the 1700s so no more can be made. No word on whether they would kill White Walkers

just as easy, but scientists have found carbon nanotubes in the metal, so… that's something.

The Iron Throne

You got to hand it to George R. R. Martin" a throne made from the swords of fallen enemies

sends a powerful message. And while the throne in the books may be made from THOUSANDS, the

TV version is special in its own way. For starters, it seems to include Gandalf's

sword from the Lord of the Rings as a bit of a joke on the part of the propmakers. It's

not alone, either, since the hero swords from Robin Hood: the Prince of Thieves and even

Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven are among the dozens visible. Who knows how many fictional

kingdoms fell in the history of Westeros…

Jeep Wrangler Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier w/ Adjustable Tire Mount (2007-2017 JK) Review & Install - Duration: 7:28.

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review of the Teraflex HD Hinged Tire

Carrier with Adjustable Tire Mount, fitting all 2007-2016 JKs.

This is the kit that includes both the carrier and the mount, but you can purchase these

parts separately if you choose.

If you're running larger tires on your Jeep and you have a full-size spare, there are

a couple of issues you can run into from putting a much larger and heavier spare tire on the

factory spare tire mount.

The hinges of the factory tailgate can start to wear out, and you'll need to start lifting

up on the tailgate every time you open it and close it.

The welds on the tailgate itself can fatigue and break, causing rattling, and the factory

spare tire mount does have a specific weight limit so, when you put a much heavier spare

tire on it, you can end up causing that metal to fatigue and break as well.

And there are a couple different solutions to all three of these problems.

One is a bumper mounted tire carrier, and the other is a tub mounted tire carrier like

this.

I really like the tub mounted tire carriers because they allow you to open and close the

tailgate in one motion with one hand, where the bumper mounted tire carriers first require

you to open the tire carrier and then open the tailgate separately.

Having a tub mounted tire carrier like this also allows you to run whatever bumper you

want on your Jeep without being limited to the options that include a tire carrier.

Now, this tub mounted tire carrier, in particular, is a very nice piece.

It's one of the top quality tire carriers on the market.

It has full adjustability, and it also has the price tag to go along with a top-tier

product.

But, in my opinion, it's definitely worth it for the quality and the adjustability that

you get out of this tire carrier.

As I said before, this kit is two pieces that are available separately but are really designed

and built to work together.

One is this T6 aluminum-hinged tire carrier that replaces your factory hinges and adds

the reinforcement to your tailgate which means you don't have to worry about the welds on

the tailgate breaking like you might otherwise have to.

This is a really, really strong, solid piece.

It comes covered in a textured black powder-coated finish.

It's aluminum, so it's lighter-weight than it otherwise would be, and you never have

to worry about it rusting.

The hinges are designed to hold up to a ton of weight, and it's completely bolt-on.

The tire mount is itself, again, is bolt-on, designed to work in conjunction with this

tire carrier.

And my favorite part about this, other than how well it's built, is the adjustability.

You can adjust the tire up and down, and also in and out to make sure it's nice and tight

up against the tailgate.

Now, I like to run my tire as low as I possibly can to give me maximum viewing out of the

back window, but also it needs to be high enough to not contact the bumper when you

open and close the tailgate.

So the up-and-down adjustment gives you the ability to set it exactly where you want it.

The in-and-out adjustment is very, very important because, if you have the tire sitting way

far out from the Jeep, there's a ton of leverage out there which can fatigue the metal, and

it will also move and bounce around which will also cause that metal to fatigue.

So this allows you to slide the tire nice and tight up against the carrier, bolt everything

nice and solid, so it basically becomes the tire, the tire carrier, and the tailgate,

all one piece.

Nothing can move, nothing's gonna rattle, make noise or fatigue.

Along with these two main pieces, you also get a mount which allows you to put your factory

third brake light right in the center of the spare tire, which means you don't have to

buy an additional third brake light.

And it comes with all of the gaskets, the spacers, the hardware, everything you need

to get this bolted together.

As I said, this really is a top-tier product, and when you take it out of the box, you can

really tell.

Like I said before, this is designed to be completely bolt-on, which makes the installation

pretty quick and easy.

The first step in the installation is to remove your factory spare tire mount and, also, your

factory third brake light, all in one piece.

You will be able to take the third brake light assembly out of the mount and hang on to that

because you are going to use it later.

After that, you'll remove the plastic covers over your factory hinges, and then use some

spare blocks of wood or wedges underneath the tailgate, between the tailgate and the

bumper, to hold up the weight of the tailgate.

You're going to be removing your factory hinges, and you don't want the tailgate to move around.

You want it to stay in the alignment that it is right in the factory.

Once the tailgate is supported with those wedges, you can go ahead and unbolt the factory

tailgate hinges, and then go ahead and bolt on the hinged tire carrier.

First, you'll bolt it on to the tub.

Check for alignment with the tailgate, tighten down the hinges on the tub, and then bolt

the carrier onto the tailgate itself.

After the hinged tire carrier is installed, you will install the adjustable tire mount.

That will install in the same bolt rotations as the factory spare tire mount.

There are eight threader holes in the tailgate that hold that into place and, after it's

installed, it's just a matter of putting your spare tire on and adjusting it.

Again, I like to run my tire as low as possible without interfering with the bumper, and you

wanna make sure that it's nice and tight up against the tailgate.

In order to do that, you wanna put the spare tire on the mount, push it tight up against

the tailgate, remove the spare tire, put the mount another eighth- to a quarter-inch closer

to the tailgate, and then tighten it down.

That means, when you put the spare tire on for the final time and tighten those lug nuts,

the lugs will actually be pulling the tire nice and tight up against the tailgate.

Again, the whole process should take you right around an hour, and you won't need any specialty

tools.

But, you will need some torque bits, a good socket set, and make sure you follow the instructions.

As I said before, this tire carrier set-up with both pieces is pretty expensive.

There are some bumpers with bumper mounted tire carriers out there that you can get both

pieces together for about the same price as this.

However, they're certainly not going to be the quality of this piece.

You can rest assured that, no matter what size tire you put on this set-up, you're going

to have the adjustability to make sure that everything stays nice and tight, and this

really solves all of the problems of running a large, heavy spare tire in what otherwise

would have been your factory location.

As I said before, I really like this set-up because it allows you to run whatever bumper

you want without being limited to one that has a tire carrier.

So, all of that said, I have to say, this is worth the price.

I know it's a lot, but I definitely think it's worth the price.

There are some other carriers out there that might look similar to this one, but they don't

have the same adjustability or the same build quality.

So, if you're running larger-than-factory tires on your Jeep and you wanna be able to

run a full-size spare on the tub, without the risk of damaging your hinges or your tailgate

or your tire mount itself, I definitely recommend taking a look at this set-up.

It gives you the strength, the build quality, and the adjustability that you need to run

that large spare tire with the peace of mind, knowing you're not going to damage anything.

So that's my review of the Teraflex HD Hinged Tire Carrier with Adjustable Tire Mount, fitting

all 2007-2016 JKs, that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Camtasia 9 Create a Permanent Color Palette in Camtasia with a PowerPoint Asset - Duration: 10:34.

Hi this is Naomi with TopShelfVA.com.

When working on videos for your channel, business, or for your clients, many times you use call

outs and text to enhance your videos.

Although you can choose whatever colors you want, to keep your branding or your client's

branding, you may want to use the logo or website specific colors.

You may also have additional video branding colors you wish to use on a consistent basis.

The question becomes how to create consistent access to those specific colors for every

video you work on.

Today, we're going to discuss creating a permanent color palette in Camtasia 9.

Before we get started, a quick reminder, please subscribe to the channel, and make sure to

turn on notifications, so you know right away when a new video is loaded.

Now a quick note, you don't have to worry if you only have Camtasia 8.

You can click here for the Camtasia 8 version or on the link in the description below titled

"Camtasia Training: How to Set a Permanent Color Palette in Camtasia."

That will show you exactly how to create a permanent color palette in Camtasia 8.

Now, for those who have upgraded to Camtasia 9, here's the problem.

There's no longer a way to set a permanent color palette in Camtasia 9.

No worries, I have a great workaround and once you create a permanent color palette,

you'll not have to worry about it again.

It will be at your fingertips whenever you need it.

Now, you will need another piece of software where you can initially design the palette,

whether that is PowerPoint, Photoshop, Gimp, Canva, Affinity, or any of the others.

We'll use PowerPoint for this demonstration, since almost everyone has it and the steps

I'll show you are essentially the same in any of the other programs.

Let's first open a new document in PowerPoint and select a blank layout.

Let's save the file first.

Remember the Golden Rule, save, save, save.

I have a folder for all my custom created call outs that I may use in more than one

video, so we'll save it there.

Let's call it Branding Colors Palette.

Now let's grab the logo from our website using the Snipping Tool on the PC, which I

have pinned to my task bar.

If you're a Mac user, you can use an equivalent tool.

I just don't know what it is since I'm a PC a user.

If you're on a PC and don't know where the Snipping Tool is, simply type in Snipping

Tool in the Search window, right click on it from the pop-up window, and select Pin

to Taskbar.

What I'll do is grab the logo and some of the main colors from my website.

Of course, you're doing this with your own website or logo.

I can close out of the Snipping Tool as it will keep what I last snipped in its memory.

Then I'll go back to PowerPoint and paste it to the page using Ctrl plus V for the keyboard

shortcut or if you prefer, click on the Paste icon and move the clip to a bottom corner.

A quick note here, you could use the clip as your color palette as it has all the colors

of your logo and your website; however, when doing videos, you will find you have other

colors you want to use.

You can use this one setup to create multiple palettes, once you have an original color

palette set.

Now we are going to create several squares to create our palette.

Let's create the first one.

Let's select the rectangle from the drawing section and holding our shift key down, create

a perfect square.

Now click on Format, and the drop down arrow beside Shape Fill and select Eye Dropper.

Then click on the first main color from your logo that you want to have as your branding

base color, and you will see the square change to the color you selected.

We don't need the border around the square, so click on the drop down arrow beside Shape

Outline and select No Outline.

Copy the square using your keyboard shortcut Ctrl plus C, then Ctrl plus V to paste.

Repeat this process until you have at least 12 squares to make a large palette.

Line the squares up with six squares on the top row and six on the bottom row.

Now we're going to use a website that will help us select additional colors for our palette,

color.adobe.com.

We are going to change this center square with the white arrow to our main color.

To do this, click on the first square in PowerPoint, right click on it, then select Shape Fill.

Then click on More Fill Colors.

This shows you the RGB numbers of your main base color.

Go back to the Color Adobe page and fill in those numbers in the RGB section of the main

center square.

You can find various color patterns based on your main base color, from Analogous, Monochromatic,

Triad, Complimentary, Compound, and Shades.

I want a color darker than my main base color, so I'm going to select this dark color under

shades.

This shows me the RGB code of that color.

I'll go back into PowerPoint and change the RGB there and then click okay.

I want to keep the main color as is, so I'll select the third square.

I want this one a much lighter color than the main color, so let me go through these

other choices on the Adobe Color website and see if there's one I like.

Under Monochromatic, I like this light blue one, so once again, I'll click on

the third square of the color palette in PowerPoint and select Shape Fill.

I'll then fill in the new RGB colors.

Now let's do the same exact procedure for the Green with the next three squares.

Select the middle of the next three squares.

Right click and click on the drop down arrow beside the Shape Fill, then select the eye

dropper.

Select the Green color.

Right click on the square again, click on Fill and More Fill Colors to get the RGB.

Back on Adobe Color, select the center square, and fill in the Green RGB numbers.

Find a dark color you like and back on PowerPoint, for the square to the left fill in the RGB.

Do the same for the square to the right with a lighter green.

You may find a green you want to use but want to adjust it a little.

Simply add the RGB colors, then move the arrow up or down a little to get to the color you

want based on that green.

Now do the same exact process for the Purple.

For the last three, I usually go back to my main color, then create brighter colors based

off of that main color to round out my palette.

Once you have created your palette, highlight all the squares, and use your keyboard shortcut

Ctrl plus G to group them together or you can click on Format and then on Group.

Now right click on the group and select Save as Picture.

Go to the location you want to save it, which I will do in the same folder as where I have

the PowerPoint saved, my Call Outs folder and give it the same name "Branding Colors

Palette."

Then click on Save.

You can now remove your screen snippet and save your PowerPoint file.

Let's move on to Camtasia 9 and set it up, so you will have the permanent color palette

always available and learn how to use it for all future videos.

Let's first import the color palette image into Camtasia 9.

Click on Import Media, find where we saved the file, and double click it to import it.

Right click on the image and select Add to Library.

If you wanted to you, can change the name of the Library asset.

I'm going to move this into the folder I've set up for my company, Top Shelf VA and rename

this to Branding Colors TSVA 2.

Whenever you want to use your color palette you have easy access to it in your Library.

I've set up a simple demonstration here to show you how to use it.

I'll right click on the permanent color palette I want to use, which is the Branding

Colors TSVA 2 and select Add to Timeline at Playhead.

Let's move this up to a corner on the canvas and minimize it slightly, so it is not covering

anything up.

Now, I'll click on this call out and the first thing I want to do is change the background color

of the call out.

I'll click on the Annotation Properties, then click on the drop down arrow for the

fill color and select the eye dropper.

I'll then select a color from the permanent color palette for the background.

I don't want an Outline, so I'll change this to zero.

I'll then click on Text Properties and do the same exact thing, clicking on the drop

arrow of the color box, selecting the eye dropper, and then select a color from the

permanent color palette.

Let's say for the full video, I want a different color background than black.

I can still use the permanent color palette.

Click on the Canvas Options Drop Down arrow and select Project Settings.

Click on the drop down arrow for the color, using the eye dropper, select a color from

the permanent color palette.

Then Apply.

Now that you are done with the permanent color palette, you can delete it from the track.

If you click on the Media Bin, you will see the palette has been placed there for future

use in the video.

So, if you add anything later in your video and you want to change the color, you simply

add the custom color palette to your timeline, and select the colors you want for the objects

or text.

We'll go over other ways you can use color in upcoming videos.
