So here we are
Ford
Ford GT
on the Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway
Ford GT on this road is
just out of this world, it really is.
You can't drive too fast on this road
because they've got very low speed limits
but it absolutely doesn't matter
because the scenery
as you can see from our film
is utterly beguiling around here.
The Atlantic Ocean Road
on the west coast of Norway
is truly one of the world's most incredible roads
and originally it was meant to be a railway line
not a road at all.
Having pondered the idea for several decades
Norwegian government
abandoned their plans to link the villages of
Kårvåg and Vevang by rail
and in 1983
they began to build a road to do so instead.
And on July 7 1989
the now world-famous Atlantic Road
also known simply as the 64 was completed.
At a cost of just over 120 million Norwegian kroner
The road itself is only five and a bit miles long
but it features a series of surreal-looking viaducts
and causeways
and eight different bridges
that really do fray the outer edges of your imagination.
It's an extraordinary road to drive
in any car
but in a bright yellow Ford GT
with 647 bhp
and two big black stripes on its roof
well it doesn't get much better than this quite frankly.
I mean look at this place
it is unbelievable!
I don't know,
I'm not sure there are many more beautiful places on earth
and I'm not sure there are many better
more beautiful roads on earth
than the Atlantic Ocean Road.
So anyway part two
we need to get up to the Arctic Circle Raceway
to go and break the lap record.
To reach the Arctic Circle Raceway
I drove the GT 500 miles north
Past the town of Trondheim
and then along another amazing series of roads
called the E39
and the E6.
I have to be honest
it really was an absolute blast.
The GT looked
and sounded
and just was
a quite incredible thing to witness on those roads
and then we met a nice man
who had a very smart looking
replica GT40
in full gulf colours.
The Arctic Circle Raceway
is the northernmost racetrack in the world
and it sits just 19 miles
outside the Arctic Circle itself.
It was designed, built and opened in 1995
by a collection of local engineers
and nowadays it's used mostly for bike racing
and it really is one heck of a track
with 13 corners
most of which are really fast and flowing.
Plus, there's a tighter section between turns 4 and 5
which is actually meant to replicate
the best bits at Laguna Seca
and in a Ford GT ...
... it's pretty damn exciting.
So this is it, the Arctic Circle Raceway.
This is the main reason that we came to Norway in the first place.
I have to say
it's pretty special!
With 647 bhp from its 3.5 liter twin-turbo v6
the GT has massive straight line performance
for sure
but if anything it's the cars aerodynamic qualities
that distinguish it most,
relative to other road cars.
This is what makes it so rapid
around a circuit like the Arctic Circle Raceway.
At its core sits a carbon fiber tub
but there's active aero at the front
and rear.
Plus a vast carbon ceramic brake disc
at each corner.
All up the GT weighs just a little bit less than 1,400 Kg
and its top speed
is 216 miles an hour.
0 to 60 miles an hour
takes less than three seconds
which is pretty astonishing
for a car that's rear-wheel drive.
But the grip this car has got ...
the composure it's got ...
... just blows your mind
it really is a proper piece of work
and it suits this track
down to the ground.
The main reason we came here
all this way ...
to within 15 kilometres of the Arctic Circle.
Is to try and set a new lap record for this track
The current record stands at one minute 41 seconds
I'm not going to try and break that lap record for Ford
but I know a man who is
and I know that he almost undoubtedly will
and that Stefan Mücke
one of Ford's Le Mans drivers.
I think he's going to break the lap record by huge amount
to be honest.
But that's not my duty that Stefan's duty
so basically, over to you mister Mücke.
Speed Limit End
So after just a couple of sighting laps in the GT
Ford's Le Mans ace, Stefan Mücke
was already down into the 1 minute 38s
Which meant that he and the GT
had already smashed the lap record
before either of them had even got properly started
but then Mücke did what racing drivers do
he climbed out ...
had a bit of a think ...
and then said he could easily go quicker still.
So, the tire pressures were dropped a bit
and back out he went
visibly trying quite a bit harder this time.
And here is the unbroken footage
of his fastest lap
with data and footage all captured
by the smart new Ford Performance App.
And so precisely 1 minute 36.29 seconds later
that was that
Stefan Mücke and the Ford GT
had a new lap record to their names
and our week-long adventure
in this incredible country
with this extraordinary car
was over.
And with that
we put the car back in the truck
gave it one last look for good luck
and we left Norway much as we'd found it.
Which is to say a very beautiful country
that has some of the most extraordinary roads
on earth ...
and some of the nicest people
you could ever wish to meet.

Apple iPhone 8 Review: Best iPhone Yet... For Now - Duration: 5:39.
Hey there, Alex here.
The iPhone 8 is the best iPhone yet, but it's also the most boring.
It's still using a similar shape and design that has been around for quite a while now,
the bezels are still comically huge in comparison to other modern flagship devices,
the screen still has the same resolution and wide colour gamut as before,
and it's still using the same Touch ID sensor as the last two iPhones.
So what exactly makes it so good?
Well, mainly, everything just works.
And on paper, it's a pretty complete package for a smartphone today.
We start off with the new glass back panel,
which not only gives the back of the iPhone a slightly updated look,
but also finally brings wireless charging to iPhones.
It's using the same Qi wireless charging standard here, which is good since charging
pads are easier to find.
But other than that, we still get the same IP67 rating for water and dust resistance,
and a decent pair of stereo speakers that actually sounds noticeably louder than the
iPhone 7.
And at this point, you should already know that you're not getting a headphone jack.
The next sort of new thing would be the True-Tone display.
We first saw this on the iPads, and basically it changes the white balance of the screen
to auto-magically match the environment I'm in.
The result is a display that never really looks too blueish
or yellowish under different types of lighting, and it looks pretty amazing.
Next up is the new A11 Bionic chipset,
which brings with it an insane amount of processing power,
as well as upgraded bluetooth and wireless radios.
In general day to day stuff, I don't think most people will notice any improvements in
speed over the iPhone 7.
Gaming performance is great as per usual, and the UI performance is fluid and responsive
for the most part.
Occasionally I do see some dropped frames in the UI,
but I'm pretty sure those will be fixed eventually since iOS 11 is so new.
I think all the extra power here is to ensure that the phone will keep performing well for
years to come,
as well as to run those Augmented Reality stuff that Apple seems to be pushing.
I would talk a little bit more about AR,
but there isn't really much apps around to say for sure whether it's going to be
the next big thing,
so I'll leave my judgement for another day.
Despite a slightly smaller battery capacity,
the battery life still seems to give the same ballpark figure as the iPhone 7.
Which is to say decent, but not great.
If you're a heavier user,
you could choose to just leave your phone on a wireless charging pad as often as you can,
or shell out a bit more cash to make use of that new fast charging feature.
The camera is probably where most people will see the biggest upgrade.
It has the same aperture and resolution, but trust me, it's a noticeable upgrade even
from the iPhone 7.
Apple seems to be employing an auto HDR mode similar to the Google Pixel.
Even in situations with high contrast in lighting,
it's still able to pull off a balanced looking shot without making it look too unrealistic.
Apple also decided to tweak the image processing to show off a bit more colours in the shot,
and I think it's something that most people will probably like, myself included.
It's just such an enjoyable camera to use in most lighting situations,
and I've always liked how Apple processes their images.
I did notice that in low light it can struggle with moving subjects though, probably because
of auto HDR too.
There isn't really anything ground-breaking here,
and it's not a giant leap forward in terms of image quality.
But it's a really solid performer, and goes toe-to-toe with the best that Android has
to offer,
and that's not always something I can say about iPhones in the last few years.
Then you get a few additional bonuses like 60fps 4K recording, and 240fps 1080p slow
motion capture.
Both of which works remarkably well, especially with the solid optical and electronic stabilisation
at work.
The front 7MP camera is pretty decent too.
I like the natural looking images in daylight, but it can struggle a little in low light.
If you're looking at the bigger iPhone 8 Plus,
you get some additional features for portrait mode too, but since I only have the iPhone 8,
I'll leave the more in-depth look for when I review the iPhone X which has a dual camera
setup too, so stay tune for that.
Before we wrap this up, let's talk a little about iOS 11.
There is a new slightly customisable control centre, a new files app to manage your online storage,
tweaks to the UI of some apps, additional option and features for screenshots,
a more natural sounding Siri, a Do Not Disturb mode while driving, and many more.
But my favourite is just how I can select multiple apps to rearrange at the same time.
I don't think there are any new must-have features here, and anyway, iOS 11 is available
for older iPhones too.
So I'm not going to talk too much about it.
It's a decent update, but nothing really ground-breaking here for me.
And really that the main story about the iPhone 8 in general.
It's an upgrade to an already well-refined phone.
It's the best version of what we know as the traditional iPhone.
If you just want a tried and tested iPhone that just works,
the iPhone 8 is a decent option that doesn't break the bank.
I don't see much of a point if you're coming from the iPhone 7,
unless you really want that new camera.
In fact, you could even consider getting the iPhone 7 to save yourself a bit of money,
and you won't really be missing out on much.
But if you're coming from anything older than that, it's a really solid upgrade.
The iPhone 8 is the best iPhone for now,
but with the iPhone X on its way in just over a month,
it's already starting to feel little old.
Thanks for watching my review of the iPhone 8.
If you liked it be sure to give me a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel.
Thanks, and see you guys on the next one.

Andrew Robertson ready to challenge for starting spot as Liverpool left-back - Duration: 3:45.
Andrew Robertson ready to challenge for starting spot as Liverpool left-back
Liverpool's new left-back is still waiting to establish himself in the team, but Andrew Robertson is in the mood to challenge for a spot.
Two appearances in a Red shirt thus far have seen fans get a glimpse of what the former Hull City man can offer, with his low crosses on the run a particular highlight.
Indeed, with a little more of a clinical edge from his team-mates the Scottish full-back could even have a couple of assists to his name by now, but Alberto Morenohas been the go-to man on the left side for Jurgen Klopp for most of the season.
Robertson believes he can contribute though and is working hard to be ready to seize his next opportunity.
"If you're sitting on the bench or sitting in the stand then you have to believe that you can change things," he told LiverpoolFC. com.
"Even against Arsenal, I thought they were magnificent, to a man they were different class, but if you're not in the team you've got to be thinking I can perform like that if I'm in that squad.
"If you don't think that then what's the point of being here because you're just happy to sit on the bench or in the stands.
"All the lads here want to play, of course they do, but the gaffer's got a tough job of just picking 11 players.
"I don't want to be here to just play second fiddle or just be happy to be on the bench, that's never been in my nature and it never will be.
"It's a short career as it is, you want to play as much as you can, I'll be working hard in training and when I do get my chance I need to try and take them in games.
"If I keep doing that then hopefully the manager gives me the nod and maybe gives me more of a starting spot.
Liverpool's defence as a whole has come under fire for allowing easy chances and too many goals, but Robertson—like Klopp, like others—believes it's down to the team as a whole to improve, not just the back four individuals.
"I do believe as a group we can get better defensively and I can be part of that.
"As a group we have to work together to get better defensively because, if the midfielders can help us and the strikers can help us, then as a team we'll improve.
"The threat we've got going forward, the counter-attacks are frightening at times.
"So, if we can just shore up at the back and not concede silly goals and not switch off then we'll be a big force.
Robertson might not be in the team at the moment, but November and December in particular see a heavy fixture list for the Reds and rotation will be required.
So far the evidence is there that he's ready to put in the required shifts and has the quality to contribute to the team, and consistency in doing so will ensure Klopp has a big decision on his hands over who to keep at left-back as the season goes on.

Philippe Coutinho ready to "defend the colours" of Liverpool with big season ahead - Duration: 2:34.
Philippe Coutinho ready to "defend the colours" of Liverpool with big season ahead
Philippe Coutinho's failed move to Barcelona had some suggesting he would refuse to play, but both on and off the pitch the No.
10 has showed that to be nonsense.
Jurgen Klopp has eased his playmaker back into the setup since the transfer window closed, with his importance to the side becoming apparent once more following Sadio Mane's suspension.
Coutinho, back in the team for Liverpool and with goals in back-to-back games of late, was a stand-out performer in the frustrating midweek draw with Spartak.
And he made it clear his focus has not been affected by summer events, with the 2017/18 season an important one for him in the red shirt.
"I'm calm.
It's all passed by," Coutinho is reported to have said by the Mirror after the Champions League match on Tuesday.
"I'm here to defend the colours, to give my maximum.
"It wasn't really the result we wanted but we have to keep working and there are more games, another four games to come.
Coutinho also spoke about his aims with his national team, Brazil, with who he will likely be involved during the upcoming international week.
"I hope to get called up.
With every call-up I want to develop and for us develop as a team in order to be successful.".
Having been a key part of Tite's plans with Brazil over the last year, Coutinho knows he must continue his good form for the Reds to be a cert for the Selecao's starting XI at the World Cup in 2018.
