Have you ever thought to yourself, self, why am I creating online videos?

No, seriously!

Why is it important to your organization?

What business goals will your videos help you accomplish?

It's easy to get caught up in the wave of what's trending when it comes to your online

marketing.

And while it is very important to be following best practices, there are some platforms or

types of content that just might not make sense for your organization.

But let's say that video does make sense for you.

Hooray!

You'll still need to have a strategy in order to make goals and have some kind of consistency

in your videos.

If you don't already know exactly why you're doing videos, here's one way you can create

a stellar video strategy for your organization.

There are three big parts to creating your strategy.

1. Define your values

What's important to your business as a whole?

Not just to your videos or online marketing, but your whole organization.

Is it helping people, being seen as an industry expert, or something else?

Keep those in mind.

You should probably even write them down!

2. Identify your goals

Once you've written down your core values, give some thought to how your videos will

help you pursue or promote those values.

You're thinking big picture here.

These are big picture goals to drive all the videos you ever create.

3. Figure out clear next steps

Now we get specific.

What concrete things are you going to do to make sure your videos are supporting your

organization's values and helping you accomplish those goals you just set?

Here's where you'll set SMART goals, if that's something you're into.

We kind of like them!

Once you've identified your values, goals, and clear next steps, you'll want to make

sure that everyone who's involved with your video creation and production is aware of

what those are.

That will help you maintain consistency with your videos, and will also make sure your

videos are actually contributing to your larger business goals.
