Hey guys welcome to my house on "My Block" come on in.
We've been in Quail Valley a little over eight years and we started this
renovation project about a year ago and we got to the point to where we sat down
and said, "are we gonna stay here, and if we're gonna stay here let's really just
make this house everything that we want it to be."
A couple of things we had to consider was fashion versus function. Did we want
a home that was beautiful but maybe not comfortable. We decided that we really
kind of wanted it to be a home where you could always be comfortable.
So for us it was really important to make this a family home, a place where we
could all gather not just with the five of us, but with extended family. Taking
out this built-in wet bar not only opened up the living room, but it also
opened up the kitchen here and gave us a great line of sight all the way through
the common areas. So once we got in here where I'm standing right now there was a
large island. We took the island out so we can just walk through. We can walk
around the countertops and to all the appliances really easily before it was
kind of open the fridge and shimmy past the island. We don't have to do that
anymore. We had just a single door pantry over here, so this space was my pantry
and over here was a double oven. So what we did is we put barn doors in here
pantries on this side and I have a little appliance garage right here, so we
tucked the microwave away we tucked away the coffeepot. I've got my extra
appliances blenders and everything up there since we lost a little bit of
space when we got rid of the island and then we just put in a single oven and
flip top combo. Our kids are still small, they still like to cuddle up with us and
we decided that we really kind of wanted it to be a home where you could always
be comfortable so we got the massive sectional and
everybody can be on the couch comfortably. We got a big dining table, so
we could all sit around and eat dinner together and it was comfortable to have
friends and family over at the same time, and we didn't have to separate the kids
to another room. We also in the kitchen went for everything to be counter height
so it's just easier for the kids to crawl up in a standard sized chair
rather than a bar stool. We have an extra room in the house that could have been a
formal dining room or formal living room and we opted to make that sort of a
rec room for the kids. After we decided that we wanted it to be comfy and
functional it with basically up to me. Anybody that knows me knows that my
favorite color is, black. So I wanted to find ways to put pops of black in the house
but still make it lively and cheery and not so morose. We did some black doors. We
did a lot of black and white accents, all the backsplash in the kitchen and in the
converted bar area. The bathroom in our room is black white and
gray. I love it it's really clean I feel like it's timeless and it's easy to mix
and match. So the bathrooms the kitchen the living room the mudroom everything
is the same color gray which also makes it really nice for touch-ups. We've made
this home our own and that's what's most important and that's what we really want
to feature when we're on My Block. We want to see how you have made your home
your own.

Ducati Multistrada 1260S, 2018 TEST [ENGLISH SUB] - Duration: 18:56.
Hey everyone, this is the Ducati Multistrada 1260, one of this year's biggest news
What's new compared to the older model? Well the engine is different, with an increased displacement thanks to an increase stroke capacity, while the bore is still of 106 mm
Allowing to have an improved output and an increased power of 158 Hp at 9,500 RPM
on top of the new engine, which has a new airbox, muffler and many new other features, there are some other news
The frame is the same trellis steel frame, but the steering tube has now a 25° tilting, 1° more than on the older model and the swing arm is 48 mm longer, increasing the stability
the wheelbase has been increased of 56 mm, for a total length of 1585 mm, This change has increased the stability at high speed, decreasing a bit the agility but when fully loaded, it's much better now
there are 4 versions of the Multistrada: Base version, S, S D-Air, with the Dainese Airbag And the top of the range which is the Pikes Peak
The starting price is of 17,990 euro, going up to 24,990 of the Pikes Peak. The S version costs 20,390 euro. There are 3 different colors: Matt grey, white and red
the frame isn't red anymore, but it's grey. Then there's a bigger radiator conveyor, which is bigger, there's a new exhaust system and the 5 spikes rims are thinner
There are new passenger's handles which have a new shape, similar to the ones on the Multistrada Enduro
The S version is the most interesting one, since it has some extra features compared to the base version, with semi active Sachs suspensions which work in real time adjusting the compression and the extension of the fork and of the rear suspension
You can set up the different modes, depending on whether you are traveling by yourself, with a passenger, or with bags. You can also work on the preload at the rear
On the S version there's a new braking system with 330 mm discs, monobloc calipers, while at the rear there's a 265 mm disc
The S version comes as standard with the quickshift with Up and Down functions. The intertial platform manages the Traction control and the anti wheelie system, but the Cornering ABS as well
the Cornering ABS can be set up on 3 different levels, just like the Traction Control and the anti wheelie which can be set up on 8 different levels and, on top of that, there are 4 riding modes which balance all the safety features
There are full LED lights, even at the rear , and the S version has cornering lights. On this S version there's the touring package with side cases which have built in hooks, central stand and heated hand grips
The cockpit features a 5 inch display, it can also be linked with your smartphone through Bluetooth
There are 4 riding modes:Touring, Sport, Urban and Enduro. For each one of the riding modes yo can set up all the safety features or go back to default set up.
It's very easy to use the new cockpit, there's just one switch for everything
The riding position is exactly the same as on the old model, with a large handlebar,allowing to have a good handling, the seat can be set up on two different heights: 825 and 845 mm. If you're over 175 cm tall, you'll have no problem
This Ducati has a Keyless ignition and even the lock on the steering is electronic
the windshield can be raised, the 20 L tank is narrow between the legs
Riding on a twisty road, due to the different tilting of the fork and to the longer swing arm, this model is a bit less agile and reactive, but I must say that they've made a smart decision since it's more stable when traveling
I like the touring riding mode since, thanks to a softer fork set up, it's more comfortable.The Sport riding mode is recommended when the rad is in good conditions and the tires are warm
What I like about this bike is the torque power at mid range RPM, it's very linear compared to the older model where the was a loss of power between 5 and 6,000 RPM
The new engine allows to accelerate faster when coming out from turns and, most of all, the riding pleasure is enhanced, it's much more fun
The cornering ABS works very well, the front brakes are powerful even though there's a bit of lag when braking, due to the increase travel of the suspensions, since it has an Enduro mode, where the ABS is turned off at the rear
In these dais, in cold and wet weather, I have appreciated the grip of the Pirelli ScorpionvTrail 2, the suspensions and the traction control
since we're on an highway I'll raise the windshield, the wind protection is really good for the legs and for the hands, while the windshield is a bit too small. If you're tall I suggest you to get a bigger one
The passenger is comfortable up to 130 Kph and if he's shorter than 180 cm
The comfort is overall very high, with a good set up of the suspensions, the vibrations are pretty low, you can just feel the a bit at around 130 Kph, but it's not bad at all
The full LED lights work extremely well, especially at night
The cruise control is easy to use, in order to deactivate it, you just need to brake
This Multisrada is comfortable on the highway, fun on twisty roads, where it gives its best and it's stable at high speed, it's very well balanced
Talking about a city use, thanks to the Urban riding mode, the power is cut at 100HP and the output is smoother, while the suspensions become a bit smoother, meaning that the comfort is increased, the grip is really good
The Traction Control is set on Level 6, while ABS is on Level 3, which is the lowest
The handlebar is large, allowing to ride well in the traffic, even though you need yo pay attention not to hit cars. The handling is overall really good, even thanks to the smooth clutch and to the smoother output
It has a good pickup starting from 2,000 RPM and from 4th gear, from 2,500 RPM, meaning that in 6th gear you can go as low as 70 Kph
What I really like about it in town, is the grip, the 235 kg of weight which are well balanced and, thanks to the active suspensions, it's really easy to handle
I can feel the traction control and the ABS kicking in on this wet road, but it still brakes perfectly. It's very safe and the soft set up allows to be comfortable at all the times
The heat coming from the engine? Well today it's very cold, so we can't say much, but we know that it was a pretty big issue on the last model, especially due to the rear cylinder , but we will see later how this one goes
we are testing it on the test bench, let's see
Ok so we have seen that this new model has increased both its max output and torque power and the power curve is much different compared to the old model
as you can see, the blue curves belong to the old 1200 S model, while the red ones belong to the new model
we can see where we have highlighted the curve, there's a remarkable difference and, overall, it has improved
That's due to the bigger engine, anyway, we can see that the output is more regular from 4,000 to 6,500 RPM, which is the most used range when riding on road
