This barricade Roof Rack Basket is for those of you that have a 2007-2018 JK or a JL that

has a roof rack on your Jeep and are looking for a basket that makes it a little bit easier

to carry some smaller items up on that rack.

This is going to be a very easy one-out-of-three-wrench installation.

This assembles very easily and attaches on to the Barricade roof rack very easily.

If you have another brand of roof rack, you could probably use this as well, but this

is really designed for that Barricade roof rack, and we'll talk a little bit more about

the installation in just a second.

So a roof rack is a great idea if you have a two-door or a four-door JK, or one of the

new JLs, because even on those big Jeeps, you just don't have a ton of cargo space on

the inside.

So whether you're hauling gear around on the road or to your favorite campsite, I think

a roof rack is a great way to add some cargo space.

But if you're carrying some smaller items, they can fall right through that roof rack

or you don't really have a good way to strap them down, and that's where a basket like

this is going to come into play.

Again, this basket is specifically designed for that Barricade roof rack.

You could probably make it work on some other options.

Other brands have their own baskets that are designed specifically for their racks.

Barricade makes a fairly inexpensive roof rack that's still there to get the job done,

and their basket is going to be similar.

A little bit less expensive than some of the others, but still a great choice.

If you are looking for something that is very stylish, maybe a little bit more low profile,

has a lot of accessories designed to be bolted on to the basket and/or the rack, I'd probably

recommend one of those companies that is roof rack specific, like Garvin, for instance.

But again, if you're looking to save a little bit of money, and you just want a rack and

a basket that are gonna work great for you, this is going to be a less expensive choice.

This roof rack basket is constructed aluminum, which is something that I really, really like.

Anytime you're putting a ton of weight on the top of the Jeep, you are raising that

center of gravity.

And if you're somebody who takes your Jeep in an off-road situation quite often, you're

getting some of those off-camber situations, you don't want to raise that center of gravity.

So keeping everything light up on the roof is really, really nice, and this is just that.

This is very, very light.

The other benefit to aluminum is if you do get a scratch in the powder coated finish,

you're not going to end up with full-on rust, like you would, with a mild steel roof rack

basket.

You're gonna get a little bit of oxidation, but this isn't going to rust away on you,

which again is going to be a big benefit.

One of the other things I like about this basket is that it has some tubes in the center.

It has the side sections.

This is very easy to put together and assemble, but this also comes with the flooring slat.

Some of the other options on the market, you have to buy the flooring kit separately, and

sometimes they can be pretty expensive.

And the flooring just adds additional functionality to your basket.

Again, I said before, these are really for carrying some smaller items up on the rack

that normally don't span those bars.

Having the floor lets you carry some even smaller items in here, throw a cargo net up

there, and make sure that everything is going to stay in its place.

This basket's gonna run you $250.

As I said before, Barricade is known for building some quality stuff at a very fair price, and

this is no different.

Usually, when you step up into aluminum as a material, the price is going to go up considerably.

I think $250 is still a very fair price for an aluminum basket that is going to add a

ton of functionality to your existing roof rack.

Now, I'll have a member of the install team show you how you get this bolted up.

We're gonna begin this installation with all of our pieces laid out on the floor.

You're gonna have your two sides, and your two in, with the crossbars in the middle.

We're gonna assemble the middle section first and get all those crossbars in, then we'll

connect the ends.

So to keep this piece standing up, we're gonna go ahead and slide this in, just a little

bit.

And then we'll go and get the other side in.

At this point, you're ready to slide the other end on.

So we'll get that side started, this other side started.

So now that we have our basket pretty much assembled, the next step is to install our

floor slats.

These are gonna lay with this felt side down on the cross members, and then we're gonna

install our Phillips-head screws into this.

So you just wanna poke the screw through, and then line it up with that hole, and then

just screw it in.

So now that the slats are installed, we're ready to flip it over and secure the ends.

So we're gonna use this supplied Allen head bolts, with a washer on them, and we're gonna

screw them into the bottom of this section and this section on the end.

So now that we have the basket fully assembled, we're ready to install it on the roof rack.

So to install this basket, your front and rear crossbar will need to be as far out as

possible.

So there's two holes.

Put the front one in the front slot, the rear one in the rear slot.

To install this basket to the roof rack, we're gonna place our block underneath of the basket,

then we're gonna put our clamp on top.

The U-bolt is gonna go up through everything, and then we'll put our wing nuts on.

So we're gonna put our block in and the clamp up top.

So with everything tightened down and adjusted properly, that wraps up our review and install.

Trump reverses policy to keep migrant families together at Mexican border - Duration: 1:49.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order designed to keep undocumented migrant

families together at the Mexican border.

However, the fate of more than 2-thousand children already separated from their parents

is unclear.

Ro Aram has more on this rare policy reversal, and its impact.

President Trump had previously argued he had no authority to stop separations of illegal

immigrant families at the border and that it was up to Congress.

Just the day before he signed Wednesday's executive order, Trump said current law only

allowed two policies - to open borders completely or criminally prosecute illegal entry.

But it turns out he was able to exercise his authority, and now migrant families are able

to stay together.

Despite the executive order, Trump maintained his tough stance on immigration.

"So we're keeping families together and this will solve that problem.

At the same time we are keeping a very powerful border and it continues to be a zero tolerance.

We have zero tolerance for people that enter our country illegally."

Images of children being held in cages at border facilities and audio clips of them

crying for their parents have sparked fury both domestically and globally.

Though the executive order solves the separation issue, families will still be detained together

when caught entering America illegally.

Although they will be pushed to the front of the line for immigration proceedings, it

is still unclear how long they will be detained.

The prolonged detention of children could spark a potential legal battle as a previous

court settlement states minors caught at the border can only be held for 20 days.

Korean auto brands sweep top spots in U.S. consumer quality report - Duration: 1:57.

A U.S. consumer report gave top spots to Korean automakers.

Kia and Hyundai motors as well as its premium Genesis range earned deserving recognition

for outstanding quality.

For details we turn to our Hong Yoo The two Korean automakers and Hyundai's luxury brand

Genesis have grabbed the top three rankings in one of the U.S. auto industry's most closely

watched gauges of automotive quality: the J.D. Power 2018 U.S. Initial Quality Study.

According to the report released on Wednesday, Hyundai, Kia and Genesis, hold the top three

spots out of the 31 automobile brands included in the study.

The result shows Hyundai's marketing technique of putting forth 'quality' as its main selling

point works in the U.S. auto market.

The annual J.D. Power report measures car quality by analyzing problems reported by

owners in the first 90 days of ownership.

It marks the second year in a row that Genesis has topped the ratings among other premium

brands.

Porsche and Lincoln were in second and third place.

Hyundai Motor says the achievement is all the more significant as Genesis was only introduced

into the U.S. market a couple of years ago and the premium ratings used to be dominated

by German and Japanese automakers.

With the wind in its back, Genesis will launch its first premium SUV in the U.S. next year.

For Kia Motors, this is its fourth consecutive year topping the non-premium rating .

Kia's Sorento and Rio were granted the 2018 Quality award in the Midsize SUV and small

car rating, respectively.

J.D. Power study results are not only used as purchase criteria for many U.S. consumers

but are also seen as a key indicator of brand quality.

As a result, market watchers expect the results to have a positive impact on the automakers'

U.S. sales.

in the first half of 2018.

Trump says N. Korea has returned remains of 200 U.S. soldiers - Duration: 2:06.

North Korea reportedly returned the remains of American soldiers that fought in the Korean

War.

While there are no official confirmation from military authorities... according to our Ko

Roon-hee..., multiple news outlets are citing U.S. officials about the specific transfer

plan.

Speaking at a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said North Korea

has returned the remains of 200 U.S. troops missing from the Korean War.

"We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains, in fact today, already 200 have been

sent back."

Multiple news outlets had been saying the transfer was going to happen soon,... citing

U.S. officials.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that they would be handed over in the next

day or two.

A U.S. official told the Journal that the remains would likely be brought to Osan Air

Base, located some 60 kilometers south of Seoul.

After a ceremony, the official said, they would be sent to Hickam Air Force Base in

Hawaii for scientific testing and identification.

However, the official pointed out that the remains are "co-mingled."

This means that there might be individuals of other nationalities, not just Americans.

After the identification process, non-U.S. remains will be sent back to their home countries.

This comes after President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a joint statement

at their summit in Singapore on June 12th... in which they committed to recovering the

remains of prisoners of war and those missing in action from the Korean War,… including

the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, about 77-hundred U.S. military personnel remain

unaccounted from the Korean War… of whom about 53-hundred are estimated to be in North

Korea.

Meanwhile, South Korea's defense ministry said it can't confirm anything yet... including

where the transfer was to take place.

President Moon kicks off 3-day state visit to Russia, delivers speech at State Duma - Duration: 1:53.

President Moon Jae-in is in Russia for a 3-day visit.

In about half an hour,... he will deliver a speech at the State Duma,... becoming the

first South Korean head of state to do so.

We will bring you live coverage of that historic event as it develops later in our newscast.

First, Hwang Hojun starts things off with the liberal leader's itinerary.

At the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin,... this is the first time

a sitting South Korean President has made an official state visit to Russia in 19 years.

To kick off his three-day stay, President Moon will deliver a speech before the State

Duma, the lower house of Russia's Federal Assembly.

This will be the first time a sitting South Korean president has done so.

It's been a key diplomatic policy of the Moon administration to expand South Korea's diplomatic

and economic horizons with its Eurasian neighbors,... the "New Northern Policy,"... so observers

expect President Moon will introduce his vision for boosting Seoul-Moscow relations.

In fact, it was in Vladivostok, Russia... that he first introduced the concept... when

he was attending the Eastern Economic Forum last September.

And considering the region's turbulent geopolitical landscape,... it's likely that President Moon

will ask for Russia's active cooperation in the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

After his speech at the Duma, President Moon is set to meet with Russian Prime Minister

Dmitry Medvedev.

On Friday, President Moon will hold a summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin,

which will be followed by a state dinner.

He will also meet with South Koreans living in Russia and business representatives from

both countries.

After completing his itinerary in Moscow, President Moon will fly to the southwestern

city of Rostov-On-Don... to cheer on South Korea in their World Cup

match against Mexico.

And that's where he'll wrap up his two-night stay,...

the first official state visit to Russia by a South Korean leader since 1999.

South Korea's current account surplus with U.S. and China hit five-year low in 2017 - Duration: 0:47.

The nation's current account surplus with the world's two largest economies, the U.S.

and China, hit a five-year low.

According to the Bank of Korea, goods account surplus with Washington dipped below forty

billion U.S. dollars last year, down from 2016's forty-two-point-six billion due to

sluggish automobile and autoparts exports.

The current account surplus fell even more sharply, recording 25-point-six billion dollars

in 2017, down 18 percent on-year, as Seoul's service account deficit with America widened

on an increasing deficit in shipping and advertising.

Current account surplus with Beijing also hit a five-year low: just under 43 billion

dollars due to a plunge in the travel account.

The number of Chinese visitors to Korea was nearly halved due to a travel ban imposed

over the THAAD dispute.

S. Korean delegation leaves for Friday's Red Cross Talks - Duration: 2:04.

Delegations from Seoul and Pyongyang are meeting once again tomorrow for the Red Cross Talks.

The main item on the agenda is the reunions of separated families,... but other humanitarian

issues could be discussed as well.

Oh Jung-hee gets us up to speed with the developments.

The two Koreas are holding Red Cross Talks on Friday at North Korea's Mount Kumgang...

to discuss humanitarian issues including the reunions of families separated by the Korean

War.

South Korea is sending a four-member delegation led by the President of the South Korean Red

Cross, Park Kyung-seo.

North Korea has not yet notified Seoul of its delegates.

The South Korean delegation left Seoul on Thursday afternoon.

They plan to spend the night in Goseong, in the north east of Gangwon-do Province, and

cross the eastern land border early Friday morning.

"I hope to have good discussions with the North on humanitarian issues -- especially

resolving the sorrow of over 57-thousand separated family members in South Korea."

The main agenda on the table is setting the schedules for the family reunions.

The leaders of Seoul and Pyongyang agreed at their summit talks in April to hold reunions

for separated families on around August 15th -- National Liberation Day.

If the reunion event is to take place, this will be the first time in three years since

the last event in October 2015.

Over 132-thousand people are registered as separated from their family members... but

among them, only 56-thousand are still alive... and among those, 85-percent are over 70 years

old.

South Korea is likely to suggest that the North allow separated family members to exchange

letters and visit their hometowns,... but it's unclear whether Pyongyang will accept

the proposal.

Other than the family reunions, some other humanitarian issues could be discussed at

Friday's talks -- like releasing South Korean detainees in the North... and Seoul providing

humanitarian assistance to Pyongyang through the World Food Programme and UNICEF.

President Moon's visit to Russia tied to inter-Korean peace efforts - Duration: 2:38.

Attention is being drawn to the overall implications of this special state visit.

One of the highlights is the summit between the two leaders, who are no strangers, having

met several times before.

Our Cha Sang-mi sheds light on the significance of the timing of this sit-down as well as

what both sides seek to get out of it.

Russia is the place to be these days; not just for soccer fans, but also for world leaders

conducting diplomacy.

President Moon Jae-in's state visit to Russia follows a series of meetings involving the

Koreas, all of them historic: the two inter-Korean summits, the Singapore summit between President

Trump and Kim Jong-un, and the North Korean leader's third meeting with Chinese President

Xi Jinping.

One key topic in the South Korea-Russia talks will be, undoubtedly, North Korea, and specifically,

its denuclearization.

One expert says Seoul wants to get Russia involved in the denuclearization talks through

potential economic projects by Moscow and Pyongyang.

"Right now, to handle the North Korea issue, South Korea badly needs outside support.

And one of the goals is get Russia involved in dealing with North Korea.

First of all, economic projects.

I'm pretty sure there will some discussions about railway and gas pipelines.

(cut) These discussions will not yield any significant results.

However, there are other areas, which are of great importance and where progress can

be made."

Though North Korea's trade with Russia is worth just two percent of what it trades with

China, the expert says Russia is still a status quo power and its soft power in North Korea

should not be underestimated.

And, experts say, it's not just Seoul trying to cozy up to Moscow; both sides have an interest

in strengthening their long neglected bilateral ties.

In exchange for support in developments on the Korean Peninsula, Russia wants to bring

in South Korean investment.

"Russia has never requested economic cooperation from China, fearing that Chinese capital and

people flowing into the Far East region could create massive territorial disputes.

That's why Putin agreed to economic cooperation with Prime Minister Abe.

But there could also be territorial issues with Japan in the northern regions, which

is why South Korean investment is politically the most stable for Russia."

Economic cooperation, experts say, will take a long time to bear fruit, but like the Korean

saying, starting is half the task.
