Next month President Moon himself is due in Pyongyang for a third summit with North Korean
leader Kim Jong-un.
And speaking Sunday with the newly elected leader of the Democratic Part of Korea, Lee
Hae-chan, the President confirmed again that he wants to bring lawmakers from the ruling
party and others with him.
He said he's now working on ways to do that.
The President also asked Lee for multi-party support for his administration's drive to
denuclearize the Korean Peninsula,... to which Lee responded by saying he hopes as many lawmakers
as possible will be able to go to the North with the President.
The ruling party chairman also expressed his hope that President Moon, while in Pyongyang,
will actively work to improve relations between North Korea and the U.S.

Now the latest from the Asian Games in Indonesia, where the unified South and North Korean canoeing
team have won their first ever gold medal.
The South Korean team, separately, has also narrowed the gap with Japan in the medal count,
but they're still in third place.

The unified Korean canoeing team continued its historic run Sunday at the Asian Games
by winning a gold medal in the women's 500-meter dragon boat race.
The 12 rowers from South and North, competing against five other teams, finished in 2-minutes
and 24-point-788 seconds.
This was, in fact, the first time a unified South and North Korean team has won a gold
medal at an international sporting event.
And it was the first time the Korean folk song "Arirang" has been played at an awards
ceremony.
But Unified Korean teams have been winners before -- 27 years ago, in 1991, the women
won the World Table Tennis Championship.
In basketball, the unified Korean women's basketball team is going to the semifinals
after beating Thailand on Sunday 106-to-63.
For the semifinals, they'll play Chinese Taipei on Thursday.
In other sports, South Korean climber Sa Sol came first in speed climbing, fourth in bouldering,
and third in lead climbing, giving him a total of 12 points -- enough to win her a silver
medal.
Her compatriot Kim Ja-in took bronze.
There are still more events scheduled for Sunday -- the men's baseball team will play
a preliminary match at 8:30 p.m. Korea time, and there's the women's 100-meter hurdles
final at 10:15.
