Parshuram was born as the fifth child to Rishi Jamdagini & Devi Renuka.
Alot of people believe that Parshuram was born in Maheshmati , which is known as Maheshwar today , a small town in Madhya Pradesh
According to Garuda Purana, Parshuram is the 6th incarnation out of the 10 Avatars of Lord Vishnu
He's the only Chiranheevi Avatar
Parshuram was born as Bhadra Ram or Ram
But after praying to Lord Shiva, he was blessed with a Parshu(Axe) from Shiva
This is why he is known as Parshu(Axe) Ram
At that time Maheshmati was ruled by Haya Vansh Kshatriyas
At the time Parshuram was praying to Lord Shiva
A few kings stopped by his father's ashram to eat food.
They saw a cow there, named Kamdhenu who could grant any wish .
The Kings were so impressed with the cow , that they went straight to Maheshwati's King , Kartavyaveer
Kartavyaveer then sent a few soldiers to get the cow from Jamdagini
As soon as Parshuram returned from his prayers , he got to know of the incident.
He immediately left to take revenge from Kartavyaveer who was also named Shehastrabahu because he had 1000 arms.
Parshuram used his axe to cut each of Kartavyaveer's arms & then killed him.
When Kartavyaveer's sons learned about his death , they killed Jamdagini in Parshuram's absence to take revenge.
When Parshuram returned , he saw Jamdagini lying dead in his mother's(Renuka) lap.
Renuka was crying & she hit her chest 21 times in sorrow.
At that time Parshuram took a swear to eradicate all kshatriyas from the face of earth.
It is said that Parshuram eradicated all kshatriyas from earth 21 times.
It is also said that Parshuram gave away all his land to Rishi Kashyap in charity.
& then after fighting the ocean, and pushing it away , he created a new land called a Konkan region today in India.
Konkan region is the land between Maharashtra & Karnataka . It is also called as Parshuram Shetra
Parshuram was the founder of the oldest Martial Art form - Kalaripayattu
Chinese martial art form , Shaolin Kung Fu is also derived from the same.
Parshuram is the only Avatar of Vishnu who also met his subsequent Avatars.
In Ramayana , the Shiv Danush (Bow) that Ram broke was given by Parshuram to King Janak
Also, In Mahabharata, the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna was given by Parshuram
Parshuram was a Brahmin by birth but a Kshatriya by Karma (actions).
That is why he is also called Brahm-Kshatriya.
Parshuram was also an expert in warcraft, especially Archery
He was the Guru of Ganga's son Bhishma,Guru Dronacharya & Karna.
It is said that Parshuram is meditating at the moment.
He will emerge at the end of Kalyug(current Yuga)
His last destiny is still to be fulfilled.
Parshuram is destined to teach Vishnu's last (10th) Avatar - Kalki , martial arts.
He will also be his Guru for warcraft.
Parshuram will also inspire Kalki to pray to Lord Shiva who will bless Kalki with divine weapons
After kalyuga, when the 8th Manavtar will start , when Mahabali will be the 8th Indra, Parshuram will be one of the seven stars in the constellation(Saptarishi)
