According to Eric Trump is was Ivanka Trump that actually persuaded President Donald Trump

to lob missiles at Syria after the gas attacks of last week.

According to an interview that Eric Trump gave to The Telegraph, he said that, "Look,

Ivanka's a mother of three children.

She saw these horrible atrocities, so it's likely that she went up to the President and

said, 'Look, these are horrible things.

We have to do something.'"

Apparently that something was lob 59 tomahawk missiles at an airstrip that basically caused

zero damage because the airstrip was operational just a few hours after the attack.

Here's the thing, this is dangerous for the United States.

If Ivanka Trump can walk up to her daddy and say, "Daddy, I'm upset about a thing.

Can you go launch missiles at this thing that has upset me?"

Does anybody else see the problem with that?

It's one thing to be a spoiled rich kid to ask your dad to go buy you a fancy new car

or a pony, but to ask your father to launch a military strike without congressional approval

in another country, that is crossing a line.

A lot of people have thought from the beginning, before Trump was even sworn in, that maybe

Ivanka Trump, when they were having all those talks in Trump Tower bringing people in and

out, talking about the incoming administration, maybe Ivanka Trump is going to be the voice

of reason in all of this.

Maybe she'll be the one to convince Donald Trump that climate change is really.

Maybe she'll bring a little bit of sanity into the White House.

Well guess what?

That's not happening.

If anything, if this true, if what Eric Trump is implying or alleging is true, then she

is more dangerous than we imagined.

One woman who is just the president's daughter, has this unpaid position in the White House,

should not be able to influence her father's decision on whether or not to launch a military

strike.

Furthermore, I refuse to believe that, as Eric Trump said, Ivanka was moved by the images

of dead children on the television.

You know why?

Because those missile strikes that Donald Trump launched, also happened to kill some

children in there too.

We're no better at this point.

Not to mention, we killed more than 1,000 civilians, including women and children, in

the Middle East in the month of March alone because of Donald Trump's missile strikes.

But there was no footage of that.

We're not seeing those images pop up on our TV screens.

We're just seeing the bad things that other people do ignoring the atrocities that our

government is committing, apparently at the whim of a Ivanka Trump.

Now, a new poll came out today that showed that the majority of young women in this country

do not like Ivanka Trump.

They view her negatively.

Forty percent view her unfavorably, 32% view her favorably.

This is young women in the United States.

The reason this is important is because Ivanka Trump thought she was going to stroll into

the White House, being a billionaire's daughter, and being some kind of role model for young

women all over this country.

If you're behind the scenes pulling the strings, telling your father to launch missile strikes

against another country, you're not a role model.

If you're using foreign labor to make the goods for your line of clothing or whatever

it is you have, that's not a role model.

There are plenty of women in this country, successful women, using American labor, hiring

American employees, and running their American business.

Those women are role models, not you Ivanka, and certainly not if, as Eric Trump says,

you're the one who convinced the president to send 59 missiles over

to Syria.

When NASA Wanted a Dual Fuselage Shuttle Carrier - Duration: 5:25.

A few weeks ago, Scott Manley and I

were Kerballing a Dyna-Soar when he mentioned

something about NASA bolting two b-52s

together at the wing and then using that

to launch a space shuttle... Well I was

massively confused but also obviously

intrigued so I looked it up! So today on

Vintage Space we're talking about the

Conroy Virtus.

So before we get into the details of

this Frankensteinian beast that is two

b-52s effectively bolted together, we

have to look a little bit about what

some of the early plans were for the

space shuttle. The space shuttle, as most

of you know and many people can see, is

heavily inspired by an aircraft design.

One of the reasons behind that was that

the space shuttle needed to have a large cross-range

capability. The idea was, you'd be

able to launch the shuttle from Florida

have it complete a single orbit around

the Earth and then land on a runway or a

dry lake bed in California, namely near

Edwards Air Force Base. To do that, the

flight worked out such that the shuttle

would need to traverse a fair bit of

distance during that descending flight.

That also meant that the shuttle could

theoretically land in California and then

need to be transported back to Florida

before it could be refurbished and

launched on another mission. The original

shuttle design actually included

turbofan engines on the orbiter itself

or engines that could be attached to the

orbiter after it returned from space

such that it would be able to fly itself

from California to Florida. These engines

could also help the vehicle fly further

through the atmosphere if it needed to

have more of that cross range capability.

But it turned out the idea of using

turbofan engines on the orbiter was just

loaded with problems, and so NASA looked

at something else: using other vehicles

to transport the space shuttle from

California to Florida. NASA of course did

have some experience in transporting

large pieces of hardware from California

to Florida, specifically stages of the

Saturn V rocket. So air lifting the

space shuttle from its landing in

California to Florida for another launch

wasn't out of the question. But it was

out of the question to build an aircraft

large enough to take the shuttle inside

its fuselage. So NASA looked at what else

it had familiarity with, and that was air

launching vehicles from underneath, or

underneath the wing, of a mothership. Now

we've seen this with vehicles like the

X-1, the X-15, and the lifting bodies. These

are launched either from underneath the

belly of an aircraft like the bomb bay of

the B-29 in the X-1's case, or underneath

the wing of a bomber -- a B-52 in the X-15's

case. Now of course the Space Shuttle

is a lot bigger than the X-15 and it

wouldn't necessarily fit snugly under

the wing of a B-52, and by not

necessarily I mean not at all! But it

would fit underneath two combined wings

of a B-52... This was the basic

configuration of an aircraft called

Virtus that was under investigation at

NASA Langley in the early shuttle days.

The vehicle had a 472-foot wingspan and

twin 293-foot fuselages. The wing would

cover the width of the two fuselages

effectively giving them a shared central

wing. It was underneath the center of

that shared central wing that the

orbiter would be suspended for transport

flights. Turbofan engines on the outer

wings of the dual fuselage aircraft

would power the plane on its

cross-country flights. It sounds kind of

bonkers but this idea was actually

investigated! A 1:34 scale model was put

through low-speed wind tunnel tests and

results were quite encouraging. Really,

the biggest drawback of the plane was

its sheer size; this thing was going to

be massive to build and to engineer and

to fly. But it was doable. Having the

orbiter suspended beneath the central

wing of this dual fuselage plane

actually had a lot of aerodynamic

benefits for separating the orbiter for its

landing once it was delivered from

California to Florida. Because the

orbiter was effectively dead weight suspended beneath the

central wing, once it separated gravity would draw it down

and the sudden loss of mass would see

the transport plane spring up as it got

lighter. This meant that there was no

danger of the two vehicles crashing in a

mid-air collision at the moment of

separation. Not to mention it was also a

lot simpler to load the orbiter

underneath that central wing than to put

it on top of something. Simple winches

inside the carrier central wing could

haul the over up into its position and

hold it there until the moment of

release. The version of the Virtus that

was studied most used major elements

from the B-52 fuselage and had a total

wingspan of 450 feet. Either the orbiter,

the external tank, or two solid rocket

motor casings could be added to the cargo

pod underneath that central wing for

transport between cities or states. The

vehicle would be able to fly at 35,000

feet with a cruise speed of about 300

miles per hour and a maximum range of

3,000 miles. Tt was also able to carry

three hundred and seventy-five thousand

pounds on those cross-country flights. In

spite of all the advantages of the twin

fuselage design with the large central

wing, it was ultimately deemed easier to

just modify an existing

liner to carry the shuttle on its back,

hence the transport aircraft that we're

all familiar with. Twin fuselage aircraft

may seem a little bit crazy, but we are

actually more familiar with them than we

realize because Virgin Galactic is using

one today. So what do you guys think of

on it but they're much smaller

than my little pinky nail here.

You can see one at the top of

my fingernail.

After several weeks they're

much easier to see.

At that point we're ready to

plant them on to sanctuary

reefs, where they

continue to grow and thrive and

provide ecological benefits.

What we do here,

what we do on this land

is going to affect the water

in our river and in the Potomac

and in the Chesapeake Bay.

This is a little catch

basin, a little spring

development that we harnessed

enough water to fill a two-inch

pipe that goes by gravity

down to the first

pasture in this field now.

And that supplies them with

their water.

These are the practices

that farmers need

help with financially and with

technical assistance

to put these in.

And the proposed Trump budget

is going to do away with that.

We Can Now Grow Human Bones From Stem Cells! - Duration: 4:28.

If you've ever had a car break down and a mechanic tells you that you've got a busted

thingy-ma-bob, you'll probably pay the man and get the part?

But what about us?

What happens if one of our 206 bones break?

Can i get new one?

If you break a bone, you go to the doctor and you get a cast.

Then your bone heals itself.

Which is actually pretty incredible if you stop and think about it…

We tend to think of bones as these rigid support systems, but they're actually made of living

tissue!

Bones are constantly breaking down and remodeling themselves to adapt to your lifestyle -- if

you go from playing video games on your couch to marathon running, your bones are going

to change to compensate!

It's pretty incredible -- and scientists call this adapting: Wolff's law.

So, if I just started marathon running and break a bone I'm not out of luck.

The body knows exactly what to do: it produces tons of new cells at the site of the break

to rebuild the bone over time.

But if you have cancer, a genetic defect, or if something really bad happens -- like,

a break is so bad that than the body can't heal it on its own… scientists finally have

a way to repair bones that befall these situations too…

Biomedical researchers are figuring out how to grow bones from a patient's own cells!

This may sound straight out of a frankenstein novel but it's actually happening!

First, they take a CT scan of the patient's damaged bone and 3D-print a custom scaffold

to fit in the space.

Then, they'll take fat tissue from a patient and extract stem cells from it.

Stem cells are these fabulous blank slates that can be programmed to do just about anything,

including bone regeneration.

Next, they take their scaffold and the extracted stem cells into a bioreactor … which is

a fancy incubator that feeds nutrients to the stem cells and mimics the conditions inside

the body.

And… that's it.

We're now growing bones!

After a few weeks, viola! … a lab grown human bone!

But don't get too excited.

So far, biomedical engineers only have a proof of concept.

They've conducted successful trials in pigs and are preparing for human trials in the

future.

Tissue engineering is a crazy exciting field when you think of all the possibilities!

In the future, if you need a new organ or body part, you won't have to wait in line

for a donor organ that may or may not even work in your body -- you'll be able to use

your own cells to customize new body parts!

We could live forever!Though… at the moment bone fixes are a bit more Medieval.

There are three main ways we fix bones now: we snag some animal bones, grab them from

dead persons or cadavers, or just use good old-fashioned metal implants.

These three options are not ideal because they can cause infections, or could be rejected

by the body.

They are, however, considered bioinert, meaning the body accepts the new part but the addition

doesn't necessarily support the rest of your body.

For instance, titanium implants don't have bone marrow, so that implant won't help

you grow new blood or immune cells.

There is actually a fourth option… taking a piece of bone from your own body!

But, it's horrifying.

It requires invasive surgery, where doctors make an incision in a part of your hip bone

called the iliac crest, and they use a mallet and chisel to harvest a piece of that bone

which they then can use in reconstructive surgery.

Stop it hurts.

This autologous bone grafting is super painful and sometimes risky.

So the promise of lab-grown bones gets around all these things.

These lab-grown thingys are just… bones!

They grow marrow, don't require thieving bones or parts from you or other organisms,

and because it's made from the patient's own cells, there's no chance of rejection.

It's fully customizable to what you need!

Which is pretty awesome.

A biomedical engineer on the forefront of this research claims lab grown bones are changing

everything, because the body becomes a [quote] "vast renewable resource."

So, even though they're not ready now, there may come a point when we could keep growing

our own parts again and again and again!

Hospital Countdown Timer - Analog LCD Clock - Duration: 1:36.

Our analog LCD countdown timer has an

easy to view LCD digital panel on the

dial face that is controlled by a switch

panel. The analog dial face can be

either in a 12 hour format or a 24-hour

format. The 24-hour format is ideal for

hospital environments. The combination of

this analog clock and timer is available

in a 16 inch black casing that you see

here or a 13-inch brushed aluminum

casing. The switch controller is separate

from the clock and is tethered to

the clock with a standard ethernet patch

cable. The controller has three buttons;

set, stop and start and reset. These

simple to use buttons will activate the

timer when the timer is not activated.

The LCD displays the date, the day and

the month. If the timer is activated in

countdown mode the digital display

panel will show the remaining time. In a

count up mode it will show the elapsed

time and easy to follow quick start

guide comes with the unit. The clock is

part of the KronoSync master clock

system. This is a wireless clock system

where you can hang a clock any place in

your facility and it will display the

exact same time as all time. Other clocks

Wireless Clocks - Brushed Aluminum Wall Clock - Duration: 2:58.

I wanted to go over some of the features

of our brushed aluminum clock line. Our

brushed aluminum clock line is part of

the KronoSync wireless clock system the

KronoSync wireless cock system produces

accurate reliable synchronize time for

your organization. When you receive a

brushed aluminum clock and you take it

out of the box one of the first things

you're going to notice is that the back

is completely covered. The reason you're

probably going to notice is most

manufacturers do not cover the back

completely. We do it because we find it

very important to protect the

electronics from dust and dirt and if we

protect electronics from dust and dirt

your clocks will last a very long time.

Now take off the battery compartment

cover and you'll see there's a slot for

2 d-cell batteries. Two d cell batteries

will operate this clock for five years

so when you put the 2 d-cell batteries

in the clock and mount it on the wall

you will not have to touch that clock

for five years. So i'll put in 2 d-cell

batteries just to show you how the

startup procedures operate. Two d-cell

batteries put the battery cover back on

and you see the first thing that the

clock is going to do, it's going to take

all its hands to the twelve o'clock

position. Once all the hands are at the

twelve o'clock position it will open its

receiver module and then adjust to the

correct time. I have a Kronosync

wireless transmitter operating in our

office here so that all the clocks

display the same time all the time. All

these clocks pick up the broadcast from

the Kronosync transmitter and set their

time to the exact same time. Now you'll see

it stopped at twelve o'clock

position. Now it will open its receiver

module and now it will set its time to

the exact same time. The Kronosync

wireless clock system is virtually

maintenance-free. It does a few things

automatically. First, of all it adjusts

the time during the spring and fall time

changes, daylight savings time to the

exact time so at two o'clock in the

morning this clock will automatically

adjust and display accurate time for

that Monday morning when work or school
