Youtube daily Apr 13 2017

This is such great spring weather.

You look like college students.

You look like an old college student, Misook.

Siyeon, Dahae. You really look like college students.

There's a reason why we're here.

A student of this university sent us a letter.

Oh, this college?

A student of Joongbu University.

He even drew pictures.

- He drew so well. / - How pretty.

I think he's an art major.

Animation.

"Hello.

I'm a student of Joongbu University, animation major.

I'm Jeong Munsik from Yeosu.

It's been a month since I came here for college.

It's my first time living away from home,

so everything still seems strange and unfamiliar.

I miss my mom's home-cooked meals, too.

Jungi and Hanseul say they miss mom's cooking, too.

Also, I haven't been in this guesthouse for long,

so I want to get to know fellow boarders

and become like a family here.

I really miss my mom's home-cooked meals!"

Mom's home-cooked meals?

That's a great name for the program.

We're going to make them a home-cooked meal?

When you live away from home, what you miss the most

is mom's cooking.

But can we make that?

At least we had Narae last time.

But there's no one we can rely on here.

I invited some people to help us.

I personally invited them, not the production staff.

- Really? / - Yes.

Really? (Sugeun invited them himself!)

We already saw who they are,

so don't act surprised to see them.

We already saw them over there. (No acting!)

(You all saw them waiting here...)

Hello. Hello.

(Guesthouse helpers Shindong, Leeteuk, Jota)

Hello. Hello.

(Applauding like a seal)

Mom is applauding like a seal.

(Misook's warm welcome)

You are all so handsome.

(They have reliable helpers here)

Introduce yourselves. Jota, you first.

Hello. I'm MADTOWN's Jota.

Why don't we introduce ourselves, too? (MADTOWN's Jota)

We are Super Junior.

I'm Leeteuk. (Super Junior's Shindong, Leeteuk)

I'm Shindong.

(They all look handsome)

Why are you standing there? This isn't a blind date.

(I'm still young at heart)

I'm sorry for lying about their ages.

I'm really sorry.

I think a mom is here today.

No. They're all great people.

They are rich.

Go closer.

What do you think? They will be our helpers.

This is great. (She finally gets closer)

We need to make a home-cooked meal today.

We can't cook well.

Can you all cook well?

- He's the host of a cooking program! / - Yes, I am.

(Leeteuk is the host of a cooking program!)

But he's a terrible cook.

Oh no. That's a problem.

But you're the host of a cooking program.

I was terrible. But I've been on my own for 2 years.

I cook for myself now.

Spaghetti, fried rice...

Seasoned beef. Everything. So...

Did you know that when you break an egg,

you must remove the chalaza to beat it well.

We don't need all that.

A person who eats a lot can cook well.

That's right. That's right.

That's right.

Someone who has eaten a lot can cook well.

That's right!

Jota, do you cook well?

Yes. When I was on "Cool Kiz on The Block"

I cooked once and Hodong said it tasted really good.

I loved that program. (I remember the cooking scene)

I liked it so much that

I watched every episode that Jota was in.

Really? (She watched every episode!)

Sure. That's how much I'm a fan.

That's why she had hearts in her eyes when she saw him.

Jota has many fans.

What can you cook the best?

Rather than having great cooking skills,

I am good at finding the right taste.

That's important.

You're the type to taste things.

The tasting type.

Doesn't Jota remind us of forsythia?

It's spring, so... (Forsythia Jota?)

I thought he was the boundary line.

Separating men and women. (Boundary line Jota?)

(He has many nicknames thanks to his yellow shirt)

It's time for something we can't avoid.

What?

Misook, Siyeon, Dahae. One, two, three.

Misook!

(Good job, Jota)

You two are off!

(Is this "Guesthouse Partners" now?)

Can't we just go off as teams?

Jota and Misook...

You two are a team. (Jota is on Misook's team!)

What about you, Leeteuk?

- Are you Park of the Milyang family? / - Yes.

Then we're a couple.

(They are both from Park of the Milyang family)

What?

I... (How will the rest become partners?)

I will do anything I'm told to do on TV.

(Shindong chooses Dahae)

What's your favorite number?

My favorite number?

Of course it's 7.

7 is a lucky number.

Let's go to the guesthouse.

- We don't yell out anything? / - No.

She said no. Let's go.

"And we're off!" We don't do that?

We don't do that.

- "Guesthouse Daughters!" We don't yell it out? / - No.

We don't do that?

We don't do anything like that. (Culture shock)

We used to do things like that all the time.

That's old-fashioned.

When we leaved, we would cheer. "Yeah!"

Isn't that how we're supposed to leave?

- Just walk off naturally. / - Really? Just like this?

We can really leave like this?

Just go past the camera.

Really? Everybody? (Hesitating)

Then I'll do it by myself. (After everyone leaves)

This has been the opening.

Let's go meet the boarders now.

"Guesthouse Daughters!"

Yeah!

(We look forward to Shindong getting used to our show)

This is the guesthouse. (Located in Goyang-si)

It's like a pension.

They must've turned a pension into a guesthouse.

Sugeun, why are there so many bikes here?

I think they rent out bikes here.

Bicycle rental? (This is a bike rental place?)

Students must ride bikes to school.

(Unique bicycles hang in the garage)

Why are there so many bikes here?

It's like a Harley.

I think you ride it lying down.

Why are you riding someone else's bike?

How do you ride this?

Your feet are in front.

I think I can ride this.

I think I can do this.

Be careful.

(Sugeun is too short to reach the pedals)

All of them are like that.

I think I may fall asleep on the bike.

(They are all lying-down bikes?)

This isn't the place, right? It's this house?

We should ask.

Here.

(Ding-dong)

The doorbell works.

- Hello. / - Hello.

She must be the owner.

Hello. (She's the owner?)

Are you the owner of the guesthouse?

Yes, I am. I'm the auntie of the guesthouse.

Does your husband make these bikes?

My husband does.

He got a patent for them and makes them.

I think he's coming this way. (Inventor owner?)

(Whoa)

(A man rides down cutting through the winds)

(He rides fast in a lying position)

(He drifts in front of the crew!)

Hello.

(I'm an inventor and owner of the guesthouse)

- Nice to meet you, Sugeun. / - Hello.

We were amazed to see the bicycles.

Can anyone ride it?

I think you'll ride it well.

Why do you ride it lying down?

It's comfortable and fast.

It's safer, too.

Lee Misook. (A recumbent bicycle)

(He see Misook while he explains)

Sir! Sir! Your wife is watching.

(His wife is watching...)

I'm a fan.

- Cycle. / - Jota!

I've never been on this. (Jota makes an attempt?)

No one has.

You must take Misook with you!

You have to go grocery shopping later.

(Riding that?)

I'm scared!

(Jota is nervous)

Try it!

What program is this? (Jota is off)

What program is this?

(Faltering)

"Cool Kiz on the Block."

I've got a bad feeling about this!

Oh no!

We'll go inside now.

Sis! You're worried about Jota?

Well, I...

Come back down, Jota.

I think it's dangerous.

- No, don't. / - Be careful! (Concerned)

Be careful.

(Here I go) Careful!

Don't pedal.

(Jota is good!)

(How cool)

That's quite unique.

He's good.

Try it, Siyeon.

I think Siyeon would be good.

Siyeon has long legs.

Look at how long her legs are.

(Ah! Ah! Ah!)

(She screams as soon as she gets on!)

(Sounds like she saw a ghost)

I can't ride this!

You didn't even ride five meters.

(Shaking head)

That's so funny.

Sorry, but when do we get to meet the students?

We are on our way now. (Are all programs like this?)

We did an opening already. Why are we doing it again?

Let's go meet them. (So much has changed in 2 years)

Let's go upstairs! (Time to meet the students)

(Feels like the students will be just as interesting)

I laughed too hard from the start. My stomach hurts.

(What kind of a guesthouse are they living in?)

The air here is clean.

(There's a terrace on the second floor with a view)

(9 students are boarding here!)

Hurry up.

Are they home?

Yes.

Hello. (Two people share this room)

It's a boys' room.

It's a boys' room and it smells like an old man's room.

(Musty male smell)

No matter how clean you keep the room,

you can't prevent the smell.

You two share this room?

Yes.

You're the student who sent us the letter?

Yes.

You wrote us because you want to eat mom's cooking?

Yes. (Jeong Munsik / Yeosu)

Just because of that?

Well, that and...

I don't get to mingle with other students.

I don't get to interact with them.

It's hard to make friends here.

So I thought that should change.

I'm hungry. (I understand your concern but...)

You haven't eaten?

- I have something that my mom made. / - What?

(Fried seaweed)

This is fried seaweed.

Wow!

My mom made it.

(It's good)

What do you want to eat the most?

I... (Thinking)

I want to eat skewered food.

Oh no.

Isn't that easy to make?

You've cooked for many parties.

(Very much worried)

Don't you just skewer ham and pickled radish?

Tell us how your mom makes it.

My mom?

My mom skewers meat, crab meat and leeks!

Leeks!

She skewers the three ingredients and

cuts them into the same size.

To make them look good.

So she keeps them long?

Yes.

You don't want to eat kimchi stew?

Kimchi stew?

I like kimchi stew, too.

What about seaweed soup with tuna?

(What's that?)

- We learned how to make that. / - Yes.

I will do my best to learn how to make skewered food

and try to make it like your mother did.

Why don't you video chat with her and cook?

Tell Munsik's mom to start.

(Oh gee)

Isn't that more convenient?

I think you and I are useless here.

(Please cook as well as you speak)

(Siyeon & Leeteuk are meeting another student)

- Are you in? / - Yes.

Hello.

- Hello. / - Hello.

This guesthouse is generally very clean.

Your room is very clean.

What's your name?

I'm Min Jungi.

He was mentioned in the letter. (Min Jungi / Jeonju)

Right.

Where are you from?

I'm from Jeonju.

Jeonju food tastes great.

When you live away from home alone,

you sometimes miss your mom's cooking

- when you lie down on your bed, right? / - Yes.

What do you miss the most?

I miss this the most.

There's something she'd make me since I was young.

What is it?

She would make it for me and bring it

when I was studying. Rice cake pizza.

Rice cake pizza? How do you make that?

I've never heard of it.

Instead of using flour,

she used rice cake for the dough.

Then she would top it with cheese like pizza.

It sounds good.

- It does sound good. / - Yeah.

It would be very chewy.

It's chewier than bread dough.

It has that unique taste.

Don't worry. Siyeon is great at cooking that stuff.

(I... Am?)

She studied overseas, so she knows how to make pizza.

Are you good at making pizza?

I will do my best.

She has studied abroad.

My mom owned a pizza place

- when I was young. / - Really?

Then he'll make better pizza than I do.

We can do it. I do cooking programs.

What kind of pizza do you like?

Bulgogi pizza? Or sweet Hawaiian?

I like potato pizza. (He knows the menu well)

You want potato on your pizza.

Your mom made it with potatoes?

Yes.

(Their first meeting with the students ends...)

It's too stuffy in the room. Come here.

It's so nice out here but they're all cooped up.

Our names are written on the chairs.

Do I sit here?

You sit over there.

Oh, our names are written on the chairs.

I'm always next to Jota. (Satisfied)

You're next to me.

(I didn't even notice you)

What if we make what you want in our style,

and you say it doesn't taste like your mom's?

"Why come if they were going to cook like this?"

You may complain online about us being here.

So call up your mothers and ask for the exact recipes.

Okay. (They'll ask his mother for the recipe!)

Do you know what it says here?

"My most beautiful mother."

- He's cute. / - He's a baby.

(Munsik will call first!)

Munsik!

Hello. I'm Lee Misook. The actress.

Hello!

Hi. (Awkward)

- Munsik's mother. / - Yes. Nice to meet you.

- He talked about your skewered food. / - Yes.

I'm not really good at cooking.

(She talks badly about herself)

It's true, ma'am.

It's just something my children like.

I don't know about other people.

(Really?)

- Or... / - Yes?

Does Munsik like kimchi stew?

He does.

Don't try to cook what you're good at cooking.

I can make good kimchi stew. (My way)

Then that would be good, too.

(What about me, mom?)

We can't do that.

How do you cook it? He wasn't exact earlier.

Beef...

Write it down.

In Yeosu, they sell it in stores precut.

Oh, you bought it?

She means they sell beef just for skewered food.

I was shocked for a moment.

- Excuse me. / - Yes?

I'm Leeteuk. Hello.

What?

(Who?)

Do you know me? I'm Leeteuk.

"Let us hear your voice!" (That's his catchphrase)

Yes, please.

Hello.

I'm the round, round Shindong.

Oh, the cutie pie!

(Unexpected defeat)

So we know what to do with beef.

What's next?

Buy leeks!

Leeks!

And crab meat!

- Crab meat. / - Alright.

Just those three ingredients?

Then why does it taste good?

Doesn't that lack seasoning?

No, no... That's not the end.

Add garlic, salt, pepper, sesame oil and mix mix.

Garlic, salt, pepper, sesame oil.

Mix mix.

Where do you buy mix mix?

(Hahahahaha)

What's the most important thing we must note

to make it taste just like yours?

When you grill it with egg coating,

you'll see some holes.

Pour some more beaten eggs as you grill.

To fill in the holes.

That'll shape it better.

Alright.

Should we remove the egg chalaza?

(What?)

It's nice to remove the white stuff.

Should the eggs be white or yellow?

You can cuss at him.

(Double KO)

Ma'am.

You must be worried about having Munsik so far away.

Since he's so far away, I feel bad that

I can't visit him often.

I'm sure there are things you couldn't say to

each other before because you were too embarrassed.

Why don't you take this time and

say some sweet words to your son Munsik?

(Awkward)

Son! Munsik!

Yes, mom?

There's one thing we buried in our hearts, right?

Yes.

Let's get rid of that grudge now.

What happened?

Yes. Let's put the whole thing behind us.

Yes. I'll fly up to Seoul. (No more grudge)

Don't come. Munsik is doing well, ma'am.

We'll cook yummy food for him in your place.

Munsik!

You know that I love you very much, right?

She must be crying. Ma'am! (Oh no...)

Yes?

Oh, never mind. I thought you were crying.

(Barked up the wrong tree) I thought tears were coming.

We will do our best to make great food

so that he can remember your cooking.

This time, it's Jungi's turn.

(Nervous)

Hello?

Hello?

Hi, Jungi.

Mom, it's Jungi.

Let's see if you can guess your son's voice correctly.

Each one of us will say "hello."

Here's no. 1.

Hello?

Here's no. 2. (No. 1 Hanseul)

(No. 2 Jungi)

(No. 3 Jota)

(No. 4 Shindong)

(No. 5 Leeteuk)

(No. 6 Munsik)

No. 7. Hello?

Can you guess which one is your son?

No. 2. (Which number will she choose?)

(Correct)

Wait. Why are we surprised by this?

How could she not know her son's voice?

But all the voices were quite similar.

(They're off to a great start) Yeah, they were.

Just hurry and tell us how to make rice cake pizza.

We met Jungi today.

The most important thing is sliced rice cake.

Onion, bell peppers, ham, mushroom, beef...

Which part of beef?

Just the yummy part.

Yummy part.

Rib eye. Rib eye.

- Then ketchup. / - Ketchup!

The most important thing is mozzarella cheese.

Cut up all the ingredients and stir fry with ketchup.

That's unique. Stir-frying in ketchup.

Then pour a little bit of water in a pan

and place sliced rice cakes with no gap.

The rice cakes become the dough!

Yes. The dough is made of rice cakes.

There is another important point.

Keep the lid over the pan.

So the cheese will melt.

You must cook it on very low heat.

Or the rice cakes will get too hard.

(Their mouths are watering already)

Let's call Hanseul's mom now.

What does he want to eat? We didn't get to hear it.

My mom makes really good cold noodles and pork.

- Cold noodles. / - We can't make that.

Let's go to Sangam-dong. I'll buy it for you.

(They desperately need his mom's help on this!)

Hello?

Hello, ma'am.

Hello. (She answered before the bell rang)

Are you Hanseul's mom?

Yes, I am.

You answered so quickly, as if you were waiting.

(She was born to be on TV?)

You're younger than I am, right?

You want to speak casually to her?

(No way)

(I can see your every move)

Shouldn't a chef make cold noodles?

- Making the broth. / - Noodles and broth.

I was surprised. I've only eaten it in restaurants.

I've made it for him since childhood.

He says it's better than the restaurant ones.

(Impressive)

That's impressive.

I make the soup like cold cucumber soup.

- Oh, cucumber soup. / - Julienne cucumber.

Dice green onions.

Add just a little bit of minced garlic.

Wait. If you keep saying "a little bit..."

How much is "a little bit"?

What is the size of "a little bit"?

10cm?

How much is that?

- Half a tablespoon. / - Half a tablespoon.

Add vinegar and sugar to make it sweet and sour.

Vinegar, sugar, salt.

Add a little bit of salt, but don't make it salty.

How can you add salt and not make it salty?

Add salt but don't make it salty?

It's like telling students to chat quietly.

Pepper sauce is important.

Pepper sauce. Right.

It's important. Add pepper powder to soy sauce.

Make it dry.

How do you make it dry?

Dry? (What's that?)

When you dip Korean pancakes in sauce...

- I get it now. / - Dry sauce.

Make it non-watery.

We just need to add a lot of pepper powder.

Yes, that's right.

Cut two cucumbers and cut them in half.

Cut crosswise.

Is there more? That's it, right?

Yes. That's how I make cold noodles.

Then we can eat it. When do we get to eat?

I think we should price it at $35 per bowl.

Don't worry about Hanseul. He's such a cheerful kid.

He was in the marine corps.

We will try to make good cold noodles for him.

We'll do our best to mimic your recipe.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

Stay healthy.

Since Leeteuk, Shindong, Jota

and boarding students are here,

I prepared something special.

What is it? What did you prepare?

What is it that you want right now?

What would you like in this chilly weather?

Cash.

- Tell me. / - Coffee. (Cash?)

There you go.

You brought coffee?

No. We've had coffee from cafes a lot, right?

I brought special coffee for you.

You're not going to give us instant coffee, are you?

- Charles. / - What?

Welcome, Charles brother.

What?

Welcome, Charles brother.

(Sugeun and the coffee master are friends)

He gets that a lot. (In sync 200%)

Let me explain who he is.

He's the champion of a barista championship.

I saw that! I saw that!

Coffee.

- Coffee, please. / - Did you bring some coffee?

(Charles' amazing bag!) I did, I brought everything.

I brought everything that I need to make coffee.

(Coming soon)

Don't we all have that at home? Why are you surprised?

It looks different with him.

That actually does have wifi.

- That does connect to wifi. / - He said it has wifi.

It says it only has 16 seconds left. (Stare)

It's gonna blow!

(Suits Charles' sense of humor)

(The person who went along with my joke) Big sister.

Big sister.

Coffee. Very, very enjoy.

Thrice a day.

That's such a hard Korean word.

Just say "three cups a day."

- Famous actress. / - Yes, an actress. That's awesome.

A top actress?

Who can we say as an example?

- Julia Roberts. / - Korean Julia Roberts.

Julia Roberts die-die.

Die-die means they are dead.

Sorry.

What type of coffee are you making today?

Today, we're going to be making a coffee from Ethiopia,

which is my favorite origin for coffee.

He isn't easy to invite.

Wow! (The best hand-drip coffee!)

Sis. This was freshly brewed.

It's hot.

(Moment to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee) Thank you.

We must enjoy the fragrance while we drink.

I've never tasted coffee like this.

- Seriously. / - Right?

What do you think, Siyeon?

This is the first time I've tasted coffee like this.

It's refreshing.

It tastes great. I love it. Awesome.

Ethiopian coffee is a bit sour.

It traditionally has that scent.

Charles. Refill, please.

(Sir, that is against our policy...)

(Who can stop Uncle Sugeun?)

It's so good.

Charles is here not just to serve us coffee,

but he's also curious about the Korean college culture.

He wants to know what games Korean college students

play that are different from foreign students.

I'll tell you. An easy one. Anyone can play.

- The number game. / - Do you want to play a game?

If you call out a number at the same time

or are the last one to call it out, you lose.

Is that normally how the game is played?

How do I explain it to him?

Why don't we demonstrate? Just men.

- 1, 2, 3. / - We count numbers, 1, 2, 3.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

- Get ready. / - 1.

No, no, not like that. 1.

We have to say it in English.

(They're quick from the start)

One cold noodles, one seasoned cold noodles,

and dumplings.

Okay.

Everything else seems pretty easy.

Skewered food.

So make cold noodles.

You're not going to?

You should do it.

- Me? / - Yes.

I thought you'd be a kind older sister.

I wish I had a younger brother like you.

I don't want an older sister like you.

You seem friendlier than my younger sibling.

Here comes our food.

(Jaws drop)

Oh my. Oh my. This is unbelievable.

- It all looks so good. / - Oh my.

Unbelievable. Look at how good it looks.

Look.

- That's it? / - This is it. (We found it)

It's sliced in half.

Slice two cucumbers in half.

- Then cut crosswise. / - Crosswise.

This is exactly what she explained. (Eureka!)

Hey.

This tastes like mom's cooking.

(They found mom's taste at a restaurant?)

This tastes like mom's cooking. This is it.

(Siyeon & Leeteuk's team arrive at a market)

Have you been to a traditional market before?

I love it.

It's not your first time? I thought you'd never come.

No, I love coming to traditional markets.

I go to markets quite often.

Really?

Products are cheap and they sell many types of things.

I go often.

We would like to buy some lean beef.

It's for skewered food.

We also want tenderloin.

Do you want it in a certain shape?

Yes, please.

Cut it as small as you can for us, please.

Good job. Good job. (Being clever)

That's great.

I feel bad for asking.

- Skewered food? / - Yes.

Yes. Skewered food.

Could you cut it so all we have to do is skewer it?

We are terrible.

We have to cook so many things today.

- Thank you. / - Thank you.

- That's perfect. / - Right.

Hello. Hello.

We can just take this.

That's what I'm saying.

Hi, do you have the ingredients for skewered food?

No, we don't.

Oh my. Lee Misook is here.

Let's taste some to know how we should make it.

Can we taste it? (Just say you want to eat it)

- Shall I warm it up for you? / - Please.

I'm sorry.

They have everything here.

Then start buying what we need.

We can buy everything we need here.

Mushroom. Cucumber.

What do we use for the skewer?

What do we need to buy to skewer it?

(Misook automatically gives food to Jota first)

We should ask for some skewers.

(I only care for Jota)

Minced garlic.

- Minced garlic. / - Minced garlic.

I'll take it.

Don't. Give it to Sugeun.

(Now they are off to a market)

I'm so full.

- That was a great meal. / - That was so good.

Let's go over the recipe again before we begin.

I'll follow the recipe exactly.

Cold noodles?

Listen to me very carefully.

You pour water. Then... (Determined)

Add minced garlic and diced green onion.

- In water? / - Yes.

I thought we only add salt and vinegar to the broth.

(Eyes wandering)

No. She said we must add minced garlic and green onion.

- That comes later. / - No, no.

We must add those in the pepper sauce.

(She calls Hanseul's mother to find out)

You're calling his mom?

We have to make the cold noodles perfectly.

- Record it. / - Hello?

Hello, ma'am.

I'm Lee Dahae on "Guesthouse Daughters."

Ah.

What do we add in the broth?

Just make cold cucumber soup.

But we don't add cucumber though, right?

Is cucumber added in the pepper sauce?

No. You make the broth with cucumber.

We normally make cold noodle broth with beef.

But we add shredded cucumber in this.

See? I told you.

Somebody here insisted that he's right.

I see.

I'm sorry. I mean, thank you, ma'am.

Thank you.

Thank you. Bye.

- See. I told you. / - How did you know that?

I got it all wrong. (You're amazing, Dahey)

So everyone is here?

I'm sure they are. (They arrived the latest)

- Hello. / - Hello.

Please give us leeks.

It's for skewered food.

We don't need too much.

Just this, please. $1 worth. (Dahae is thorough)

And this and mushrooms, too.

It's a celebrity.

(Famous celebrities run into each other)

Wow! It's a celebrity!

You already bought a lot.

We're done.

Really?

Dahae, buy what you need. Hurry up.

We're done.

We have to get going.

Let's split up. Come here.

Let's hurry.

Wait. Let's think this through first. Slowly.

- We don't have time to think. / - Wait.

(Dahae & Shindong are rushing to buy ingredients)

Where's Leeteuk?

- Where's Leeteuk? / - You saw him?

Yes.

Is he at the cold noodles place?

He went upstairs.

He ate cold noodles?

No. He got them to go.

- He got them to go! / - From where?

We must record this.

We must record this. What did you say?

Leeteuk took cold noodles to go?

- Yes. / - He bought cold noodle soup.

How many? (So many witnesses)

One non-cooked noodles.

Non-cooked, with broth separately?

Noodles and broth separately.

That'd be fine.

Non-cooked, with broth separately?

(Who is she?)

One bowl, please.

- Cold noodle soup? / - Yes.

(Proof! She's the same person)

She looks familiar, right? (Video chatting with Siyeon)

Don't lie to us.

She told us you took cold noodles to go!

I gave them pepper sauce, too.

- She gave them pepper sauce. / - Pepper sauce!

- Lots of it! / - Lots of it!

Give us half!

You're sorry?

(They hastily hang up)

Alright! We got them!

We can just go along with them.

You can do it!

Thank you. (Dahae & Shindong are done shopping)

You must make it taste like mom's cooking.

That looks good.

It's good. It's good.

(Students who miss their mom's cooking skills)

One of them tastes like my mom's.

Unbelievable!

Was it a close call? Or did one stand out the most?

One of them was outstandingly good.

Wow!

One, two, three. Please make your choice.

(Best-tasting food will be revealed soon!)

(The stage where the cooking battle will take place)

(Recreate mom's cooking in just one hour!)

(They will begin cooking now!)

You know all the recipes for today, right?

- What were they? / - I don't know.

We will be making rice cake pizza, cold noodles,

and skewered food.

Those three dishes.

You must recreate mom's cooking exactly.

How far along are you?

We're done washing the ingredients.

We're supposed to recreate mom's cooking.

What happens if you recreate a restaurant's taste?

Then you should open a franchise. (Feeling guilty)

Are you cooking cold noodles, Leeteuk?

You don't need to cook cold noodles, right?

What are you talking about? We will make it.

- We only tasted it. / - We got some information.

We heard that they bought lots of sauce and broth.

No, we only tasted it.

(Jota looks over the recipes before starting)

It would've been great if the weather was nicer.

What do you think, Sugeun?

Is that right, Misook? Are you doing it right?

Of course!

You didn't trust that I cooked spinach in a microwave.

I don't cook, but it doesn't mean I'm terrible.

Not doing it means you're terrible.

(Jota's fantastic knife skills)

Oh, look at Jota's knife skill.

You're making rice cake pizza first?

I'm going to have the ingredients ready first.

Can we borrow an onion?

You can't do that.

You're not on that team!

Onion? Okay.

What did you do instead of buying ingredients?

It's not here yet.

They told us that they would help us and...

How much did you buy?

Please get our ingredients here quickly.

(Main ingredients are here...)

Can you please lend us any ingredients?

We can't do that.

Just do what you can with what you have!

Do whatever you can with what you have.

Let's hurry up and finish.

- The loser gets a terrible penalty. / - Really?

Let's wash the ingredients first.

- Let's start washing these. / - Okay. I'll do that.

Please listen up.

Any plates and pots you need are underneath.

Just look underneath. You have everything there.

Underneath? Alright.

I will tell you the secret to great cooking.

You see an egg here?

Some people eat eggs just as they are.

If you break an egg,

you will see this white part.

This white thing is called a chalaza.

If you remove it before cooking...

He's been talking about that all day long.

You must remove it to have softer eggs, everyone.

Your hands are frozen.

How do you remove it?

With chopsticks, everyone.

It needs to be thicker. We'll pickle it.

- How? / - For cold noodles. (Why won't this...)

Thicker?

Lee Misook's team...

Jota has already gotten started on the pepper sauce.

Jota, don't cook while hiding alone.

Do it in front of the camera. (Show us, please)

(Jota's version of Hanseul's pepper sauce)

(1. Mix pepper flakes, soy sauce)

(Vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil)

(2. Add grated onion)

(3. Add minced green onion and sesame seeds)

(To complete the seasoning sauce)

Jota's really good at it!

(Meanwhile...)

(Prudent)

What are you doing, Leeteuk?

Removing the chalaza.

That gosh-darn chalaza!

There are so many.

Removing the chalaza can take some time...

Dahey is already working on the meat.

That's for skewered food, right?

Yes.

Why am I tearing up?

He's peeling onions behind you.

(A bad boy who made a girl cry)

Why am I crying instead of you?

I'm the one peeling onions.

What else do we add in meat besides salt?

And garlic.

- Pepper. / - Pepper! What else?

(Heartthrob) Do we need to add oil?

(He looks handsome even when he adds pepper)

(Was cooking always this fun?)

Siyeon.

What are you preparing here?

Our ingredients haven't arrived yet.

Is this enough?

Yes. Wash it.

Then pickle it.

With what?

Did I put in too much?

That's too much. No, no. That's too much.

I said just a little.

You need to take out more.

More?

(Here's someone who can cook well but doesn't)

Wow! (Bam bam bam)

Are you stressed these days?

What are you working on?

Toppings for pizza.

Pizza?

You're working on skewered food and pizza all at once.

You're not using other parts of meat?

Of course not.

Are you doing traditional Korean Nanta?

See how well I do this.

You think I'm a terrible cook.

You're boiling noodles already?

We're not.

- We'll do the broth. / - We'll wash the noodles.

Why? You haven't started on anything.

This team is a wreck.

What's that?

I don't know. What is this?

You bought sausages instead of ham.

- This isn't ham? / - No!

It's not!

Dahey told me to buy this.

Look at ours.

Yes. That's ham... This is... My hands are freezing.

Is this right?

How do you think you'll do?

This is for pizza.

Oh, pizza.

I'm in a hurry.

Why are you turning the stove on?

To defrost sausages.

Think of the recipes you wrote down.

The important thing is not just to cook,

but recreating mom's cooking.

(Munsik's skewered food)

(1. Marinate meat with salt, garlic)

(Black pepper, and sesame oil for 30 minutes)

(2. Cook the seasoned meat)

Jota, try this.

It's seasoned well.

(3. Slightly boil leeks in salt water and cut)

(4. Season it with minced garlic, sesame oil and salt)

(5. Prepare crab meat in the same size as leek)

(6. Skewer meat, leek and crab meat in that order)

Ah! What is this?

- This is how it's done? / - Yeah.

(Shock and fear...) That's it?

We'll cut this later.

Oh, I see. I was shocked.

Salt was added.

Siyeon and Leeteuk's ingredients have finally arrived.

What a glorious moment.

It's here. (Their ingredients have finally arrived)

Excuse me. Did you get that delivered?

It's here. It's here.

We have to season the meat first.

Okay. Season the meat.

We don't have drinking water.

It's underneath.

Everybody. Don't say you don't have something.

Just look underneath. You have everything you need.

(Making broth for cold noodles)

(1. Pour water in a big bowl)

(2. Julienne cucumber and add in water)

(3. Add vinegar, sugar, sesame seeds and minced garlic)

(To get a sweet and sour taste)

(4. Add salt little by little)

(Jota uses soy sauce instead)

(He pickles cucumber and radish with sugar and vinegar)

(What about Dahey?)

(4. Add fine salt little by little)

It seems to taste okay.

I think it's too bland. I only taste vinegar.

Then salt. Right? I need to add more salt?

It tastes too watery.

But we'll be adding pepper sauce later.

But this is supposed to taste like cold cucumber soup.

Then we need to make it taste like that.

(She tastes it again)

(Head tilt)

What are you cooking now?

I'm cooking meat.

- What? / - I'm cooking meat.

Why? For the pizza topping?

Yes.

This team is cooking beef to put on the pizza.

(1. Dice onion, bell peppers, mushrooms)

(2. Dice beef and ham)

(3. Stir-fry all the ingredients on a pan)

You're using ketchup?

What did you just do?

I added ketchup.

Just like she told us. (4. Stir-fry with ketchup)

For the pizza? You're following the recipe?

Yes. The sauce.

He's indeed a great cook.

(Looking good)

(Blowing on it)

- Good, huh? / - It's good.

Can I please have a plate?

How many times did I tell you? Look underneath!

No, a small one.

They are all there. Over there.

I need to remove the chalaza.

Look underneath.

How many times are you removing the chalaza?

(I will not miss doing it)

Can you wash this for me?

I'll do that.

Bell pepper. Did you wash that?

No.

- Do it. / - Okay.

We need to clean up as we cook.

Okay. I'll clean up. I'll do it.

- Please. Thanks. / - I'll do it.

Everything is all over the place. I can't focus.

Ingredients stay here. (Keeping it clean is the key)

Please put everything in place as you cook.

I'm sorry.

Sorry. (A conversation of real siblings)

Shindong. What are you doing?

I'm just continuing to wash. (Why are you so busy?)

Then why don't you just go take a shower?

I would like to take a shower myself.

Dahey is trying to do everything herself.

She won't let me touch anything. (I want to cook, too)

Clumsy help can actually

be disruptive. (Dahey does all the cooking)

Oh! Misook is finally (Will Shindong be able to cook?)

coating skewered food with flour.

I'm impressed. Have you made skewered food before?

Of course.

Jota and Lee Misook's team is

working in perfect harmony.

They're working on pizza and skewered food.

They're done preparing the broth.

I'm worried. I'm worried.

Us?

- What? / - Us? (Who else?)

Don't worry.

What are you doing? (Composed...)

(She's gone crazy)

Leeteuk. Why did you buy a potato?

Potato wasn't needed in our recipes today.

It's confidential.

(Only Siyeon and Leeteuk bought a potato)

What kind of pizza do you like?

Potato pizza.

We need to add potatoes.

Is that how your mom made it for you?

Please don't say it out loud. (Shh)

Where are they planning to use the potato?

We should've cooked that first.

Yeah.

Lee Misook and Jota's team

is doing such a great job that I don't need to visit.

But the taste is the most important part.

They're coating egg now.

That looks good!

(Jealous...)

Siyeon is spacing out.

Take a look.

Here.

- It's done? / - Yes. One is done.

- Does it taste okay? / - Yes!

Mmm!

It's good!

I think we won.

Right?

Lee Misook and Jota team.

It's good. (They're done with one dish)

I get to taste it, too? It's skewered food?

Don't say anything.

(Oh my)

(He can't help but smile)

I'm really surprised.

Sis! I'm really shocked.

It's good, right?

I'm really shocked. It's so good.

It's tough? (This team is tasting, too)

Please stop eating.

How does it taste?

- It's alright. / - It's alright?

Did I eat something else?

Leeteuk spits it out and

Siyeon says it tastes good.

This team is just a big mess. I'm serious.

I think this will get even tougher, right?

(Finally they really start cooking)

You're working on the pizza topping, right?

Right.

You just need to stir fry it. You're cooking quickly.

You are almost done with skewered food, too.

That's right.

The skewered food looks pretty.

It's the prettiest one.

Jota and Misook are working on the pizza topping!

They laid out rice cakes.

(1. Pour some water and lay out rice cakes)

(Misook and Jota didn't pour water)

(2. Pour vegetables and ham mixed with ketchup)

(3. Top with lots of mozzarella cheese)

(4. Close the lid and cook 5-10 min in low heat)

(Serious...)

Siyeon...

You were really stingy with flour and eggs.

You have to fully dip it in the egg.

Are you going to pour that in here?

She told us to fill in the gap with egg.

You'll see holes in places while you cook.

Pour egg to fill in the holes.

(She knew what would happen)

We must fill in the gaps.

Leeteuk's team...

You're just pouring the egg mix.

Let's cut it off later.

Cut it off?

(Concerned)

Oh no. Oh no.

(They can't take it back now)

If you pour that...

We can cut it later.

(It used to be the prettiest skewered food)

This is just fried egg now.

Luckily, because we removed the chalaza...

Because you did...

Since the chalaza was removed...

(Oh! Shindong is holding the pan!)

Shindong is finally in the kitchen.

(The fire is burning quite high)

How does it feel? You're finally in the kitchen.

I've finally escaped from the intern position

and become a chef now.

This is unique.

You're cooking as if you're using a wok.

It's the Chinese cooking style.

On high heat?

Half of the small camera here is burnt.

I think this alone will taste great.

Taste it.

It's still a bit hot. (He's satisfied with the smell)

Oh, it's good!

- It's good. It's good. / - Isn't it amazing?

(Even picky Dahey says it's good)

Try a bite.

Now we have something to taste.

(Thumbs up)

Is it because it was cooked on high heat?

It tastes of fire, right?

It does have that taste.

It'll taste like pizza baked in a brick oven.

His mother likes fire.

His mother's fire taste.

- It's amazing. / - It's good, right?

I think that alone will taste good.

- This is really good. / - Really?

- Yes. / - I taste the fire.

This is really good. (Good job)

Shall I lay out rice cakes now?

Yes, please.

Let's look at the time.

You have 20 minutes left.

You have 20 minutes left until 7 o'clock.

Really?

We didn't buy garlic.

Could you lend us some garlic, please?

Don't. We need it all.

Garlic. Garlic.

Then it's not a battle.

♪ I will only love you and garlic ♪

Jota is cleaning up already.

That's the attitude of a real chef.

- Siyeon. / - Where is it?

(Whispering)

It's the box hidden inside the egg.

There's a name?

Siyeon, what are you doing?

Are you secretly eating something?

(Hands are faster than the eyes)

(I need to help her out...)

Wait. We need to boil the noodles, right?

Sure. You have to. (A meaningless question)

Noodles go into the boiling water.

It's potato starch noodles. (Distracting Sugeun)

I didn't know that. (They work in perfect partnership)

I didn't know the deep meaning of his moves.

Please watch how we cook until the end. (Done yet?)

He's boiling noodles in water that cooked potatoes.

Hurry up and boil the noodles.

Where did that go? Oh no.

They love cheese. (Add lots of cheese)

We need a lot of cheese so it'll stick together.

Shall we put some sausage on top?

No. We shouldn't add different toppings.

Right.

Let's not be too greedy.

(Contemplating)

Can you make a crane out of radish?

A crane out of radish?

(He doubts his ears) No, I can't.

You can't?

Like this. (I'm not an expert)

We don't get a bonus for finishing early?

We just wait for the others?

We finished early.

The thing is, you're not done with your pizza yet.

to your mom's and eat the rest of it.

(Time to choose)

(Which will Hanseul choose?)

(This one)

Wow!

(Dahey and Shindong win)

- it's still early in the game. / - You don't know.

(Disappointed...)

Please evaluate Park Siyeon and Leeteuk.

It tasted too much like store-bought noodles.

(Attacked with facts)

Please tell us honestly. What happened?

You can watch it on television.

- Watch it on television. / - It's 100% store-bought.

Next, please evaluate Lee Misook and Jota's.

That has way too much vinegar.

(Too much vinegar?)

Way too much vinegar!

Since you're young, I wanted to make you flexible.

So I added lots of vinegar.

You're old.

(Kim Hanseul / Age 23 / Still young)

I can remove vinegar anytime.

Remove vinegar?

How? With a syringe?

Young people need plenty of vitamin C,

so I put in lots of vinegar on purpose.

I saw her add lots of vinegar

in the food that Jota made.

(After checking that it's vinegar)

(Poured it in)

(Become flexible)

I saw her do it by herself. (Embarrassed)

Lastly, Shindong and Dahey's team.

I was touched that you called my mom two more times.

I think that's why it was closest to my mom's.

It tasted similar to my mom's noodles.

(Ecstatic)

This is great.

(Hanseul takes another bite)

Please take it with you as you leave.

We have to continue with the next dish.

We will continue with Min Jungi's rice cake pizza.

Let's see if they recreated that taste.

Let's have Jungi come out here. Jungi.

Jungi.

Please come on out.

(Second client Min Jungi comes out)

Please come this way.

He will taste Shindong and Lee Dahey team's

rice cake pizza first.

(Won Round 1 / Comes in confidently)

Wow!

(Looking great)

Look!

(Wow)

I told you that those who eat a lot can cook well.

It looks good.

Shindong cooked that mostly by himself.

The key point is how the rice cakes turned out.

- You couldn't check that part. / - True.

Rice cakes...

We added water like your mom said.

We added water instead of oil.

I'll try it.

(Big bite)

We couldn't taste the pizza.

Please eat it with the toppings.

You know now? Can you tell how it tastes?

I don't think you ate enough toppings.

(Jungi doesn't show any expression)

Did you taste it enough?

Please taste Lee Misook and Jota team's.

This looks like curry.

No.

One, two, three!

Wow!

(Looks good)

We are confident about our pizza.

It looks really good.

(Still bubbling)

You normally dig in with a spoon at home, right?

Eat as you would do at home.

(I hope it's good)

It looks hot.

(He takes a bite)

He looks happier than when he tried ours.

I'm confident about ours.

We don't know the result yet.

Please tell us this. Is it good or not?

It's good.

He said it's good.

Now the problematic team.

You didn't buy this, too, right?

- We didn't. / - Leeteuk and Park Siyeon's team.

We put all our hopes into this dish.

I was quite surprised

that they finished all three dishes.

Please tell us why we have potatoes in here.

Potatoes.

You added potatoes.

- Potatoes? / - You didn't follow his mom's recipe.

Then they're last.

Your mom never added potatoes, right?

She did at times.

- What? / - Really?

How did you find out?

When we first met, I asked him,

and he said he likes potato pizza.

So you had this information in advance.

That's why you were cooking the potato for so long.

I see. You can go back.

Siyeon, what are you eating?

Who are you?

Jungi will now taste Leeteuk and Siyeon's pizza.

(All his nerves are focused on the pizza)

Mmm...

He said "mmmm..."

How is it? How does it taste?

This is good, too.

He said, "This is good, too." (Yes!)

He is tasting his mom's pizza

for the first time in five years.

Then he'll get it confused with store-bought pizzas.

Please tell us what you think.

It's been five years since I had rice cake pizzas.

One team tasted like my mom's.

Unbelievable!

Wait. Was it a close call?

Or did one stand out more than the others?

One stood out.

One stood out!

I'm so curious!

Please!

Who thinks it's them?

Us!

I think it'll be us, too.

Please stand up and grab the pizza that you like.

(In chaos)

Why is this making me so nervous?

He said it was good.

One, two, three. Choose!

No, no.

No, no.

(Dahey & Shindong's yummy-looking pizza)

(Misook & Jota's pizza with lots of cheese)

(Leeteuk & Siyeon's potato pizza)

Choose.

(Whose will he choose?)

(Dahey and Shindong win twice in a row)

(Greatly disappointed) - We did it! / - Seriously?

Shouldn't we give him a hug?

Unbelievable.

(Finally found mom's rice cake pizza after five years)

(Thanks, Shindong)

- Mom! / - Yes. I'm your mother.

(Dahey and Shindong's team wins!)

How was theirs different?

This tasted like ordinary, common pizza.

It was good.

I see.

This one had potato, which is my favorite,

so it was good.

But the ratio of water to ketchup was the best here.

The ketchup you poured in at the end...

You must finish up the rice cake pizza quickly.

(Shindong added more ketchup in the end)

Shindong did most of the seasoning here.

Good job.

Unbelievable.

I didn't put in more ketchup on purpose because

I thought it'd make the ketchup taste too strong.

Here's the last dish.

Jeong Munsik's skewered food.

Are you ready?

Which team will start?

Us. (Chic)

We...

(We must avoid being last!)

The first skewered food will be

served by Lee Misook and Jota.

He removes the skewer.

We just eat like this in Gyeonggi Province.

(He shoves it in his mouth)

(Does it taste like your mom's?)

(A positive look)

(Satisfied)

What do you think?

It's seasoned really well and is good.

It's seasoned well.

(Let's win this time)

Which team will go next?

We will go last.

They've won twice in a row.

Everything made by that team may taste good.

(No. 1 team / Sophisticated serving)

He tasted it a lot in advance.

(This team has thick meat)

(Looking forward to it)

The meat...

It's thick, right?

(It's too thick)

It's like steak.

So that you'll be full eating it.

He puts all three in at once.

Let me have a taste, too.

I didn't get to taste it.

Why am I so nervous?

- Did you taste it? / - No.

We didn't either. (Munch munch)

Why do they have that look? (Chomp Chomp)

The meat is too thick.

(They're chewing like a cow chewing on his fodder)

I think we could chew on this for two days.

If I savor it.

The meat was seasoned a little too much.

Oh.

Stronger than my mom's.

You have a chance here.

(We have a chance of winning once?)

I would like to thank

this team for making all three dishes on time.

(Siyeon and Leeteuk team's skewered food with egg)

(Surprised)

What's that? It's like an omelette on a stick.

Is it skewered chicken?

He's looking for the meat.

It's covered in egg.

I think it has too much egg.

It doesn't.

You're just pouring it.

(Leeteuk poured egg and Siyeon cleaned up)

I said that would be enough,

but Leeteuk poured egg on it.

What a big bite.

(In one bite)

What a big bite.

How does it taste? Is it good?

Yes.

Out of these 3 teams,

from which dish did you taste your mom's cooking most?

Please stand up and choose.

It's like steak.

So that you could be full eating it.

He puts all three parts in once.

It's seasoned really well and is good.

How does it taste? Is it good?

Yes.

(Will they be able to win this round?)

Please stand up and choose the one

that was closest to your mom's.

My mother owns a restaurant, so I'm a bit picky.

(Which one does Munsik choose?)

This one.

(Misook & Jota team)

What? We didn't win once.

Please tell us why.

This one actually tastes better,

but this one is the closest to my mom's.

Why won't you even mention ours?

What about this one?

Because of the egg...

It killed the other flavors.

I thought I should do something, too.

Since he came all the way from Yeosu...

I prepared something that I can do best.

Hold on, please.

- What's going on? / - Please wait.

- What is it? / - Is this a surprise event?

I specially made...

When Misook mentioned kimchi stew,

he said he also likes kimchi stew.

So I tried making a little with the kimchi we had.

Please taste it to see if it's similar to mom's.

It looks just like my mom's.

It does, doesn't it?

Please have a taste.

I did my best with tofu and...

It looks good.

How does it taste?

It's very similar to mom's. Even the soup.

It's just like how your mom makes it?

But it's spicier.

It's spicier than your mom's?

Yes.

Why is it spicier? Let's ask.

We specially brought Munsik's mom here.

- Mother, where are you? / - Mother.

- Really? / - Really?

Mother.

(Puzzled)

She must really be here.

Mom...

(Munsik's mom came from Yeosu early in the morning)

(For Munsik and his mom, who haven't seen each other)

(This is the most valuable gift)

(The word "mother" has incredible power)

(It makes everyone emotional)

Your mom cooked this for you before she came here.

- Hello. / - Hello. (Morning of the shoot)

You said you brought something with you?

I brought kimchi stew, which my son likes.

Where did you bring this from?

From Yeosu. I made it at home.

- From Yeosu? / - Yes.

(She got up early to prepare kimchi stew)

I'm tearing up. Oh no.

Me too.

Were you disappointed that

he said it's spicier than your kimchi stew?

I bought new pepper powder, and it's spicier.

Did you know she'd be here?

No. I really didn't know.

Shouldn't it be the opposite?

Shouldn't you stand up and have her seated?

Even if times have changed.

Please give her a hug.

When I saw the face of Munsik's mom...

I started tearing up.

Hanseul!

Hanseul! Munsik's mom is here.

I'm sorry. We invited your moms too,

but they asked for $2,000 each. (Kidding)

(You shouldn't laugh after crying)

Here's what's important.

The last place team has a penalty.

Park Siyeon and Leeteuk

- will sit in front here... / - We can't eat this?

And eat rice with soy sauce.

We can't eat this?

Don't even touch it. Don't even smell it.

Let's yell out, "Thank you, mother"

and eat all together.

- Thank you, mother. / - Thank you.

It looks good.

What? We don't get to eat what we made either?

Let's eat with soup.

- Try the skewered food. / - It smells great.

(They're hungry...)

(But it tastes terrible)

(We want mom's kimchi stew, too)

(It may not taste the same as mom's cooking)

(But they cooked all day thinking of)

(The students who are studying away from home)

Let's do a cheer. Let's go, guesthouse students!

Let's go!

("Guesthouse Daughters" cheers for you)

The Moments That Turned Charlie Murphy Into a Comedy Legend - Duration: 2:31.

What's up, guys?

Pierce Simpson here for Complex News.

On Wednesday morning, comedian Charlie Murphy died of complications from leukemia.

Murphy, [older brother of comic legend Eddie](insert CharlieEddie.jpg), acted in several movies

in the late 1980s and early '90s, including an iconic role as Gusto in

[But Charlie Murphy is best remembered for his work on Chappelle's Show, where he played

a key role in so many beloved skits.

Here are some of his greatest moments:

First, there was his classic re-telling of his adventures with a cocaine-fueled Rick

James, so memorably portrayed by Dave Chappelle on the show.

The sketch became so famous that Dave couldn't go anywhere without someone shouting its catchphrase

at him.

It even followed him and his kids to Disneyworld.

Murphy will also be remembered for his role as Buc Nasty in the 'Playa Haters Ball' skit.

While the writing was great, it is most fondly remembered for a quarter of great comedians—Chappelle,

Murphy, Donnell Rawlings, and Patrice O'Neal—standing around trading insults about a variety of

public figures.

Another classic Murphy moment was the "Mad Real World" sketch, where he played Tyree,

a cast member who never tired of intimidating his roommate Chad.

And of course, who could ever forget Murphy's memories of his basketball game with Prince—the

one he referred to as "the shirts against the blouses"?

Rest in peace, Charlie.

We're all glad we have these classic moments to remember you by.

For Complex News, I'm Pierce Simpson.

DONALD TRUMP NEVER TOOK WINSTON CHURCHILL'S ADVICE TO STUDY

HISTORY. FOR HIM THE EARTH WAS CREATED IN

QUITE RECENT MEMORY. EVERYTHING IS WITHOUT PRECEDENT.

NOTHING EVER HAPPENED BEFORE, AND EVERYTHING NOW IS AS HE PUT

IS SO FINELY THIS AFTERNOON, A MESS.

LET'S START WITH THE MESS PART, WHICH IS EASIEST TO EXPLAIN

BECAUSE IF YOU ACCEPT HIS STATEMENT THAT ALL IS LOST, THEN

ANYTHING THAT'S NOT A MESS A FEW MONTHS FROM NOW GOES TO HIS

CREDIT. HE WILL BE THE ONE WHO ROSE US

UP FROM THE MESS. IT'S HIS IGNORANCE OF THE PAST,

OF HISTORY THAT I PREDICT IS GOING TO CONFOUND US.

DIDN'T HE TAKE ANY HUMANITIES COURSES AT PENN?

DIDN'T HE READ ANYTHING AT ALL IN HIS 70 YEARS?

DIDN'T HE GIVE ANY THOUGHT TO ANYTHING BUT REAL ESTATE?

TRUMP SEEMS TO BE THINKING ABOUT THE MIDDLE EAST, RUSSIA, ANYWAY

DOES HE KNOW WE HAVE TO WEAR TWO HATS IN THE MIDDLE EAST?

DOES HE KNOW WE HAVE TO AVOID AT ALL COST A MILITARY

CONFRONTATION WITH RUSSIA. DOES HE KNOW HOW TRICKY IT IT IO

RELATIONSHIP WITH RUSSIA TIME, WHEN HE TALKED ABOUT REALLY

GETTING TO KNOW CHINA'S PRESIDENT XI, WHEN HE CALLED

BASHAR AL ASSAD A BUTCHER, I THOUGHT I HEARD SOMEONE SAY,

Round Table: Hour Four | Season 1 | SHOTS FIRED - Duration: 9:40.

Hi.

I'm co-creator Reggie Rock Bythewood.

And this is the hour for Roundtable of "Shots Fired."

Joining us is Gina Prince-Bythewood,

Conor Leslie, Stephan James, Sanaa Lathan, and DeWanda Wise.

[theme music]

THEME SONG: Where do we go from here?

I find this hour, like, particularly

interesting because it's like the first time

we start to see, like, a little bit

of a chink in Preston's armor.

You know, always so controlled.

And that-- that opening scene where Cory is telling you what

he witnessed-- that's the first time that we

really see you emotional.

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

I think so.

I think it was devastating for him.

- Yeah. - Right.

Because I feel like Preston has

these small, like, victories and small failures.

And this one, that sense of, like,

not being able to protect him.

Right.

Really registers.

Yeah, and I know you-- you loved, you know,

the performance by Marqus Clae.

Yeah.

16 years old, and that was a long speech.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: Yeah.

And he just nailed it each and every time.

And it was so subtle and had the layers of emotion comes

with a very experienced actor.

So I was really impressed.

They had him trapped against the wall.

And the two cops hopped out and threw him to the ground.

He was laying there screaming, someone call my mom's.

Someone call my mom's.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: In this hour,

it's, like, the first big win that Ashe

and Preston have together.

And it just makes you guys come together because we

officially get the case open.

Now you're assigned to solve the case of Joey

Campbell and Jesse Carr.

And it obviously has an effect on your characters.

SANAA LATHAN: Mm-hm.

There's that thing when you're working so hard for something,

and you don't know if you're going to get what you want.

We didn't know that we were going to necessarily get

to open this case officially.

And it is a huge relief.

And, you know, the pressure is just so thick down there.

And they're working so hard.

And I think that bar scene was great because you

have to have a release.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: It's one of the few scenes

early up top where we see Preston

without the suit and tie. STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: You know, he's got a sweater on.

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: You know--

STEPHAN JAMES: A little bit [inaudible].

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: Ashe is showing a little shoulder.

SANAA LATHAN: Showing off them musc-les.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: That's right.

Yeah.

You know, a little somethin' somethin'.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: Right. [chuckling]

Right.

And, you know, I just love also that side

where it's just like Preston is going to step to these dudes.

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: And Ashe is gonna

step right along with him.

All you need to know is that she ain't your lady.

So step.

Step?

STEPHAN JAMES: At this point, we're-- we're all we got out--

out here. SANAA LATHAN: Mm-hm.

And we need to have each other's backs.

We done good today.

We did.

SANAA LATHAN: It's interesting that Preston made the decision

to go a separate way.

Because she would have jumped on Preston.

[chuckling] - Yeah, true.

But [inaudible] is true to your character.

At the end of the day, your ambition right now to

prevail at this new position--

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

--superseded anything else.

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

And I think that's still where you're at at this point.

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Yeah, professionalism.

Though, but he still was, you know, he was shook.

He was shook.

When he got back to his hotel room.

- He was shook. - Yeah.

- He was shook? - He was pretty shook.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. - [chuckles]

It shook me up a little bit. REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: Right.

Can't lie about that.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Though what's interesting

is that you didn't go there-- STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

--because it wasn't smart.

But you and Sarah--

I was just thinking that.

--hooking up so early and continuing it under

cover is the dumbest thing--

It's so dumb.

--for-- for you--

But, like that's why people do those things.

It's dumb. - --and for you.

But--

It's less of a conflict for me.

CONOR LESLIE: True.

You know, I don't have to deal with Sarah every day.

So--

CONOR LESLIE: But also at the end of it,

when the case is closed, he knows he's not going

to be living in North Carolina. [chuckling]

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

More so a fling for us both, really.

It was a-- but I-- yeah, I think that was mutual.

I also think there's a difference between a fling

and maybe other intense chemistry

that you have with someone else.

I think it's much closer to home with Ashe.

Yeah.

Mm-hm.

I think also Sarah and Preston hook up in hour one.

I think both of them and both those characters

just don't know what's coming. STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

So it's fun.

Like, it's so fun.

There's something very youthful and fun about it.

And then both of them, I think, like, reality hits in both

of their worlds that, like--

STEPHAN JAMES: Yeah.

--life is not that simple.

STEPHAN JAMES: Mm-hm.

And-- and I think even by hour four, it's starting

to be much more real.

Enjoyable is not-- is not the forefront, I think,

[inaudible].

Yeah, but the other thing that's really interesting

is, you know, like Preston, you know, Sarah is

extremely ambitious and driven.

True.

You know, we just hear about your ambition, and kind

of interesting, why you decided to work with the governor

and what you were looking to get out of it.

Yeah, she's in the very early stages of what most politicians

must go through of her career.

And she's at the beginning stages of still

really, like, wanting to make a difference

and wanting to help make the world a great place.

I don't think she's naive, necessarily.

But I think it's easy for her to believe that she can make

a difference by being with someone who she thinks wants

to make a good difference.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: It was also Sarah that really pushed

and helped nudge the governor--

Mm-hm.

--to just fight for the school and, you know,

ultimately to help see if Shawn can get in a shot

of being in that school.

She starts to see that the governor

does value her opinion.

So she hired me for a reason.

So I have something to bring to the table.

And I think when she reads about these things

and sees them on the TV, it's one thing.

But to visit this family I think does strike a chord in her.

We don't care what color they are.

If those kids come to our community,

we're going to have to install metal detectors in our schools.

That's right.

Hold on a second.

I'm a parent, too.

I want what's best for my daughter,

same as you want what's best for your child.

I will gladly go along with your plan to bring kids

in from the houses if you're willing to send

your own teenage daughter to a school near the houses.

[murmured agreement]

Show us how open-minded you are.

Yeah.

Yeah.

[applause]

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: What it is I love about this scene

is that everybody was in their own bubble,

in their own worlds. - Mm-hm.

Yeah.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: What does it do to my children?

- Absolutely. - Yes.

If you're going to allow black kids to come to the school--

And [inaudible].

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: --like, is

it going to change the dynamic?

And that everybody could look at the same situation--

Right.

--and have, like, various points of view on it.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: It was heartbreaking.

And I think-- DEWANDA WISE: It's also just a--

to be real, like, a very impressive integration of a,

like-- GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Yeah.

--another facet of this conversation--

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Mm-hm.

--into the, like, the throughline, you know,

of the series of these 10 hours because you address, you know,

the education component without it being like,

you know, an aside to the camera, if that makes sense.

Mm-hm. Yeah.

Well, it's interesting because, you know,

we shot this, you know, last year.

And I remember telling you in hour

one, hour two, hours three, I was like, yo, hold back.

DEWANDA WISE: Mm-hm.

Don't cry yet. DEWANDA WISE: Right.

Like, it's coming.

And I'm really-- it was really important to me

that you just held it until hour four,

when you have that big emotional scene with Shawn.

There won't be 35 kids to a classroom.

Everybody gon' get they own--

I don't care about all that.

Start caring.

This school gon' give you a chance.

A chance at what?

Not making any friends?

A chance to not ending up like your brother.

I lost Joey.

I can't lose you, too.

(CRYING) I can't.

I can't, Shawn, please.

Please.

Please.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Please.

You still have me.

DEWANDA WISE: That was the tipping point for Shawn

because up until then, we spoke about him

being on the brink and feeling everything

that he should feel, right?

And that's completely that righteous rage.

And never having seen his mother in this position,

and it coming to fruition, and her being in that state--

that was the tipping point. GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Yeah.

For him to be in that school and for them

to be at that town hall.

And the fact that you, as a mother in that moment,

are fighting for the life of your son.

Mm-hm.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: For you, if he

does not get into the school, he's going to end up like Joey.

And you say that.

And for Shawn to hear that, I mean, that-- that scene

breaks me every time.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: Yeah, well, I really

love scenes where somebody's right,

but they can also be wrong.

And a person who's wrong could also be right.

And that scene you have were you and Platt pull over these guys,

and he's trying to teach you a lesson.

- That's-- - Yeah.

--such a great scene.

[inaudible]

--because you never think of it from that point of view.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: Of course.

And he didn't tell him.

He showed him.

That is the thing that is exciting to me

about this show is that that's where empathy is created, when

you can see, oh, wait a second.

STEPHAN JAMES: Right. - Mm-hm.

GINA PRINCE-BYTHEWOOD: How they feel.

They're going through something, too.

Wow.

That situation, that moment is so tense.

You felt, really, how tense it was shooting it.

Mm-hm.

I mean, the tension was-- was there.

Mm-hm.

It wasn't something we had to--

- Right. - --to play.

You feel it.

The three of you need to turn around and put

your hands behind your head.

Pat them down.

[smack]

Get your hands off me.

Hey, I said, don't touch me, all right?

Ow!

Hey, that's my kid!

Well, your dumb-ass kid should get some common sense.

Get up.

Will Patton's such an incredible, incredible actor.

And he gives off just an incredible performance.

I think that's the other thing that, you know,

Gina, we've always talked about with Stephan,

one of the things that we love is just the subtlety.

It's like a little look kind of tells you

everything that he's feeling.

I was just so--

Thank you.

--blown away because both of them were in shades.

And I caught everything.

I just thought that was insane.

REGGIE ROCK BYTHEWOOD: (CHUCKLING) Right, right.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So, you know, in hour four, we have this near-miss

between Ashe and Preston.

But now we're back to being professional.

Now we have both cases open.

And, you know, we just move forward

to see where it's going to go. - Yeah.

And Breeland, at the end of it,

is looking into your personal life.

Mm.

- What does that mean? - Wow.

It's gettin' juicy, y'all. [chuckling]

It's getting juicy.

Getting juicy.

Well, thank you all.

Thank you for joining us for our "Shots Fired" Hour

Four conversation.

We'll see you next week for Hour Five.

Adding the HCC Libraries' Manual LTI App - Duration: 8:57.

Hello and welcome to today's screencast! I'm Jennifer Stidham, Public Services Librarian at

Houston Community College - Northeast Campus Library and I'll be your host today.

Our topic is on adding the HCC Libraries' Manual LTI app to your online Canvas courses in order to quickly and easily

deliver a variety of helpful library tools to your students, accessible right from Canvas course modules.

So, go ahead and adjust your volume and we'll get started!

First, let me show you where the easy-to-follow directions are located.

From the HCC homepage, you would click on the "Libraries" link.

Then, we need to choose to see the list of HCC LibGuides from the drop-down menu

here and look for the one titled, "Canvas Integration."

LibGuides are librarian created mini-websites that focus upon specific HCC subject areas,

Centers of Excellence, and, as in this case, instructions for using various library tools and services.

So, here is the "Canvas Integration" LibGuide and we need the instructions for adding the Manual LTI app.

It may be a good idea to print them out if you need to, but after watching this video,

you may decide that you don't need to. It is fairly simple.

Now, you will need to go to Eagle Online and login to your account and

choose the course that you would like to add the app to.

We need to go into the course "Settings" and click on the "Apps" tab.

Then, "View App Configurations" and choose to "Add App."

Name the app as you'd like. I might suggest "HCC Library Tools."

You can rename it later once it is added to a specific module so you don't have to worry too much about it now.

Then, we will need to go back and forth and copy and paste four pieces of information into the fields here -

Shared Secret, Consumer Key, Launch URL, and Domain. These are all found on the LibGuide.

So, let's go ahead and do this as needed and then click on "Submit" at the bottom.

Now, you will need to decide where in your course to add the app.

You'll soon see that you can customize more than one and add in more than one place.

So, I'm going to choose this module in one of my courses and chose

the plus sign to add content to it here. I'll select "External Tool."

I find it in the menu and choose to "Add Item." Now, click on the item to configure it.

You'll choose the only choice available at this time from the first menu and then,

from the second you have some choices. Since this example is a psychology course,

I would like to add the list of psychology library databases to my course.

I think this would be very helpful for students.

I look for and choose that option, find and choose "Psychology" from

the drop-down subject list and "Embed Content."

I need to remember to "Publish" my app and could edit its name

if I wanted to. Let's change it to "HCC Library PSYC Databases."

Now, click on it here and then again here to see what it will look like to your students.

Now, I think I will add it again to a different module and this time,

I want students to get a variety of library information and help,

specific to a psychology course.

A good way to do this is to embed a psychology-specific LibGuide into your course.

The way to do this is very similar to adding the database list.

You would choose the module where you would like the app to be and

follow the same steps of adding, naming, and choosing the wanted content.

In this case, we would like to embed and display a single LibGuide - the Psychology LibGuide.

So, we choose that option, "Full LibGuide," and then find "Psychology" in the list of all Guides.

Now, take a look! HCC Librarian Daisy Ngo created this LibGuide and there is a lot of helpful content here.

Explore the tabs across the top - Books and Ebooks, Articles, even Talks and Experiments,

Biographies of famous figures in the field, Career Information, and links to various help resources for your students.

And, now we have successfully added two versions of the app and our students should have an easier time accessing

library resources for your assignments from right inside your course modules!

You can discover more of our LibGuides by returning to the

HCC Libraries' homepage and browsing through the LibGuides.

That's all we have for you today! Thank you very much for your attention

and please never hesitate to contact us with any question or concern

that you might have about your HCC Libraries!

Periodontitis Treatment ❤ Home Remedies for Periodontitis Pyorrhea - Duration: 4:19.

Periodontitis Treatment ? Home Remedies for Periodontitis Pyorrhea

Note: Do consult a dentist for proper diagnosis and treatment of this condition.

Use home remedies just as an adjunct treatment.

Periodontitis, formerly known as pyorrhea, is an advanced stage of gum disease in which

the gums and bones that provide support to the teeth become inflamed and infected.

It usually happens due to advanced gingivitis, which when left untreated results in long-term

accumulation of bacterial plaque and tartar on the teeth.

The bacterial toxins and the immune systems response to infection start breaking down

the bones and connective tissues that support the teeth, eventually contributing to loose

teeth.

Here are the top 5 home remedies for periodontitis.

1.

Salt

The antiseptic and antibacterial properties of salt can take care of the bacteria that

causes periodontitis.

Plus, it can reduce inflammation and pain.

Add 2 teaspoons of salt to a glass of lukewarm water.

Swish a mouthful of this solution around in your mouth for 1 minute.

Spit and do it again.

Follow this treatment 2 or 3 times a day.

Another option is to mix a pinch of salt and a little mustard oil to make a paste.

After brushing your teeth, rub this mixture on the gums and leave it on for 5 minutes.

Then, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Follow this remedy daily in the morning.

Use these remedies daily until your symptoms subside.

2.

Oil Pulling

According to Ayurveda, oil pulling and gum massage can help prevent periodontitis and

plaque buildup by reducing the amount of bacteria present in the mouth.

Oil pulling can even strengthen gums and promote good oral health.

This has been proven by a study done in 2014 at Manipal College of Dental Sciences in India.

Swish a mouthful of organic, unrefined coconut oil or sesame oil around in your mouth for

15 to 20 minutes.

Spit it out and rinse your mouth with warm water.

Do this daily in the morning before brushing your teeth.

Note: Do not gargle or swallow the oil.

3.

Turmeric

Turmeric contains curcumin, which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.

Turmeric can easily kill the bacteria present in the gums as well as relieve pain and inflammation.

It also promotes oral health.

Use turmeric powder to brush your teeth and gums using a soft-bristle toothbrush.

Do this 2 times a day for a few weeks.

Alternatively, prepare a gum pack with turmeric to treat periodontitis.

Mix a pinch of turmeric powder with a little water or vitamin E oil to make a paste.

Apply it on your gums before going to bed.

The next morning, rinse your mouth with warm water.

Do this once daily for several weeks.

4.

Guava

Being rich in vitamin C, guava is also considered an excellent remedy for periodontitis.

It works as an anti-plaque agent and helps remove plaque accumulated on the teeth and

gums.

Plus, its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties help reduce swelling and pain on

the gums.

Wash some tender guava leaves.

Chew the leaves thoroughly, then spit them out.

Do this on a regular basis to stop bleeding and reduce the risk of pus forming in the

gums.

Another option is to cut an unripe guava into four pieces.

Sprinkle salt on the guava pieces and chew them slowly.

It will help reduce plaque and make your gums and teeth strong.

5.

Indian Lilac

Indian lilac, also known as neem, is also very beneficial in getting rid of periodontitis.

Its antibacterial properties help keep your gums free from harmful bacteria.

Plus, it helps combat bad breath and keeps your gums and teeth healthy.

Extract the juice from a few neem leaves.

Apply this juice on the gums and teeth, allow it to sit for 5 minutes and then rinse it

off with warm water.

Follow this treatment 1 or 2 times daily.

You can also use soft neem twigs to brush your teeth and gums twice daily.

Clogged Arteries Treatment ❤ Home Remedies for Clogged Arteries - Duration: 5:01.

Clogged Arteries Treatment ? Home Remedies for Clogged Arteries

Clogged arteries refers to a condition in which deposits of fatty plaque within an artery

leading to the heart or brain restricts blood flow.

Due to this, the blood carrying oxygen and nutrients cannot reach different body organs

and tissues, potentially causing huge damage and preventing organs from functioning properly.

This is a serious condition that is not easily detectable.

The exact cause behind clogged arteries is still unclear.

However, experts believe it starts with damage or injury to the inner layer of an artery.

Factors that may contribute to or worsen this problem include excessive smoking, a high-fat

diet, lack of physical exercise, being overweight, having either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, high

blood pressure and high cholesterol.

It can also occur due to inflammation from diseases like arthritis, lupus or infections.

Clogged arteries in different parts of the body can lead to health problems like coronary

artery disease, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease and even a heart attack or

stroke.

Here are the top 5 home remedies for clogged arteries.

1.

Garlic

Garlic is one of the best remedies for clogged arteries.

It helps widen blood vessels and improve blood circulation.

According to a 2007 study done at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, garlic can help

relax blood vessels by up to 72 percent more than a placebo.

Moreover, garlic lowers bad cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of heart attacks or strokes.Add

3 chopped garlic cloves to a cup of milk and boil it.

Allow it to cool and drink it daily before going to bed.

Also, include garlic in your cooking or take garlic supplements after consulting your doctor.

2.

Turmeric

Turmeric is another spice that can help treat clogged arteries and make your heart healthy

and more functional.

Curcumin, the main component of turmeric, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties

that help prevent blood platelets from forming clots.

Moreover, turmeric extracts can lower the level of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), or

bad cholesterol,to reduce buildup in the arteries.

It can also relax blood vessels and reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and a little honey to a glass of warm milk.

Drink it 1 or 2 times daily.

Take turmeric supplements.

The usual recommended dosage is 400 to 600 mg 3 times daily.

However, consult a doctor before taking any supplements.

Also, include turmeric powder in your cooking.

3.

Cayenne Pepper

The compound capsaicin present in cayenne pepper prevents bad cholesterol, or LDL, oxidation.

This in turn reduces bad cholesterol levels in the blood, which is one of the main reasons

behind clogged arteries.

It also improves blood circulation and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Add1/2 to1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to a cup of hot water.

Drink it 2 times daily for a few weeks.

You can also take cayenne supplements, but only after consulting your doctor.

4.

Lemon

Lemon is high in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps improve blood pressure and reduce

inflammation of the arteries.

Plus, lemon helps lower blood cholesterol levels and keep arteries clear by preventing

oxidative damage in the blood stream.

Mix the juice of 1 lemon in a glass of warm water, along with a little honey and black

pepper powder.

Drink it 1 or 2 times daily for a few weeks.

Alternatively, boil 1 tablespoon of lemon peels in 4 cups of water for 20 minutes.

Strain and add honey.

Drink 1 cup, 3 or 4 times daily for several weeks.

5.

Ginger

Ginger is another effective remedy for clogged arteries.

It contains compounds like gingerols and shogaols that have cardiovascular benefits.

Ginger prevents plaque buildup or lessens existing plaque by lowering total cholesterol

and blocking oxidation of LDL.

Drink 2 to 3 cups of ginger tea daily.

Make the tea by adding 1 teaspoon of grated ginger to a cup of hot water.

Let it steep for 5 minutes, strain and add a little honey.

Alternatively, eat a small piece of raw ginger on an empty stomach daily or take ginger capsules

after consulting your doctor.

Note: Do not use ginger remedies if ginger causes gastric upset or heartburn, or you

have gallbladder problems or gallstones.
