Surrey Docks Farm and Thames Walk - Duration: 12:07.

but sunny isn't it yeah he which is the

only farm in London that you can go in

with the goats and give them a good old

stroke? Surrey Docks Farm. OK, change of plan

you normally can go in a feed the goats

but they're giving birth so they're

having kids and so you've got to wait

till around June oh I could see a kid

over there often yeah why do I like this

farm so much number one we've got so

much history it used to be part of a

shipyard and it became a timber wharf in

the Victorian times then it became a

site for the river ambulance service to

transfer smallpox patients down the

river and then it was badly bombed during

World War Two and finally became a farm

in 1986. You can actually do a history

trail and there are six boards to find

it's also got a working blacksmith too.

You know what a black Smith is?

Blacksmiths work with metal so they can

shape metal into different shapes that

can make metal fences and look at the

fire they're using.

yeah blacksmith's forge they're bending

with the fire can you see we see what

you making have you always been

interested not pretty much okay really

he likes fire what are the blacksmith to

what you know and then met on fire hello

number two the animals are cool hello

baby milk can you see the baby drinking

the milk from the mummy Oh what are they

gonna grow in food in a grandpa pig shit

you knot big trick what do we grow and

see what a chick's growing true yeah

chicken depends you know me may h so

these are hatched from the egg mm-hmm

hello mrs. Duke oh I think I've just

found the biggest sheep in the world

hello look at the shape yep so I just

learned that this is it's not like the

amazing massive breed of sheep is just a

ram her baby yeah he's the daddy of all

the sheets you can see in a farm he's a

male he pulled a ram so when you see a

whole lot of sheep and they've got horn

their females usually number three the

piccalilli cafe

apparently the owner scholar is a real

foodie hand and apparently number for a

shop this is a really cool shot

everything's in here well a lot of

things are growing on the file this is

also a if I so go to do four pounds

number five I love the wildlife garden

here who are you reading a book are they

we've got some farm books along as so

many farm books like this look we met a

ram today called Saxon yeah yeah

enormous with and we sort of mam's today

location location is next to the river

10 become mazing this is and not

displayed typing on holiday I said it's

like being in the street die that's the

fire rescue boat when a speedboat go for

it creates a wave onions perfect awesome

hey right yeah it that's heavy what's

that I see first we're usually at shop

is actually glove and the loss was made

it all smooth so it's okay to Sigma

that'll do fine from a possible its

proper outdoor learning top tip bring

two buckets and just get them to have a

look for stones and pottery and whatever

really shells yeah it might be thin

layer like what the cereal is it ah Oh

bits of wire maybe it's metal treasure

what treasure you found oh yeah that

could be Victorian pastaria look at that

these are the things that we found on

the River Thames what treasure did you

click oh yes oh the bone oh yeah the

metal really good collection I think you

should put them on a display at home and

pottery

in one little Explorer you are let's

take them home okay so as you can see

sorry docks farm has an amazing location

so it's not just a farm you can

literally follow the river back all the

way back to rather hide station is part

of a green chain walk do you know what

that building is Canary Wharf fifo

follow this path you can really smell

the sea air any pathway up here's the

plan we just discovered a decent little

play park pearson park opposite the

hilton if you need the river jump check

out this little play park and this is

during the holidays and it's pretty

empty in fact the whole walk is empty

heavier right well i recommend pearson

park for a little break just or was it

for the Thames path fine hello hey race

you feeling nike high a good way to get

down the Thames isn't it

every now and again there are steps to

go down to the tens it's quite nice to

just pop down have a little play

look up in oysters let the boat to get

tied to these chains

haces made a brick wall with all the

bricks we found on the beach there are

loads of bricks

Austin can you tell us about London

famous building yes got the shard yes

got a walkie-talkie he has another

cheese grater well my London boys look

it salty cheese grater carrot in enough

Seng London buildings because you can

kind of know where you are so I know

that London Bridge is there by the shard

I know that the gherkin is in the City

of London where there's financial people

are the whole journeys taken about two

hours of walking but that's probably

because we've been stopping on the way

and walking really slowly and spotting

things so I'd give it two hours of these

and a picnic on the way well now museum

right before you reach rather hide

station or wherever you're going to get

the train home and there is a on rather

hide street there's Brunel's engine

health it's a really sweet little Museum

this is six pounds to get in if you've

got the time and money can check out

since you're here already

so I'd go to Canada water and avoid

rather hide stations who's got about

thirty cents right so we just finished

our two hour walk and we're on our way

home motley right all right home and

we're just looking at our treasures on

their bucket it got some cool stuff

there look hmm keep the metal open to

what that was from yeah it might be a

cell wire Austin what was the favorite

part today it was at red then I do the

treasure on the beach or ha yes

exploring he ok so the top tip is if you

want to go in with the goat don't come

April or May when they're all having

their babies what usually you can

The setting, the relationships, the facilities: students love Curtin Malaysia! - Duration: 2:45.

>> The first impression is it's actually a huge campus.

>> The atmosphere is just so peaceful and it's so calm, it's so serene.

>> And I'm a fitness junkie so I work out most of the time on the outdoor gym then I

sit and relax around the lake.

>> It's a really nice place to live here.

>> When I first walked into the campus, the orientation leaders were so friendly.

>> The staff from the International department, they really helped us with student pass,

student visas also like bank accounts.

>> They also help you get organised and settle in really well with the accommodation.

>> I actually live in Curtin Water, I have three housemates with me.

They are the type of people where you get excited to go home to.

>> The bills are not that expensive, the water and electricity and stuff.

And there are also buses and public transport provided.

>> Well as a student, living on a budget you will learn all the places where you can get

cheap food.

And one of the places where you can get cheap food or cheap produce is the local markets.

>> The people here are genuine, down to earth, and outright friendly.

>> They want to get to know you, they want to know where you're from, they want to know

your culture.

>> I love the fact that when people ask us locals what's so good about Miri, we can instantly

just say first of all the food, the places like Canada Hill, Lambir Ganihar.

>> You drive about two hours off and you're at one the national parks, Niah National Park

and they have caves.

They've got Curtin Volunteers, they're vibrant, they're young and they're willing to go out

there and make a difference.

>> Our aim is to actually give back to the community.

We're going to help out this lady with her house because the house is actually in a very

bad condition.

>> Our main goal was to help provide clean water supply and also to empower the children

over there.

>> I'm working very closely with PIASAU Nature Reserve, and our project with them for this

year is to not just help not just increase the awareness of the place, but also to find

ways on how we can improve the land around it.

>> For me I would say the major take away, is to know the impacts of how you can

change a person's life.

And to see them when we're leaving, crying, that gives me a very special feeling.

People can change the world.
