Youtube daily Jan 11 2018

Hey there, Alex here.

The year is 2007.

Apple just announced their first iPhone.

At that point in time, few people saw the smartphone revolution that was coming.

BlackBerry, or Research In Motion didn't, and neither did Microsoft.

But someone at Google did.

A small startup by the name of Android Inc was bought over by Google in the July of 2005.

They were working on a mobile operating system to compete with the likes of Symbian, BlackBerry

OS, and Windows Mobile.

As you can imagine, early prototypes looked a whole lot like those devices too.

That all changed after the announcement of the iPhone, and that was when the Dream began.

It took a while to rework the project, but it finally came into fruition in the September

of 2008.

It was first released by T-Mobile in the US, with the name G1.

The first commercially available Android smartphone.

Internally, it was codenamed Dream, and that name was used for the phone in certain international

markets.

The T-Mobile G1, or HTC Dream, was at the intersection of a smartphone revolution, and

it really shows in the design of the phone.

You have a full touch screen panel like the iPhone, but without any of those multi-touch

magic.

Then at the bottom you get a row of BlackBerry-like buttons, down to the trackball for navigation.

That trackball is really sort of a necessity considering the touch interface wasn't that

great.

Hidden underneath the screen is a full physical QWERTY keyboard.

At that point in time of course, a physical keyboard was still the norm.

While this form factor may seem a bit antiquated these days, I imagine this was pretty cool

looking back in the days.

I mean it's still pretty cool looking now, don't you think?

Hardware wise, it's probably pointless to talk about the specs too much, so I'll just

list it out here.

The more interesting feature is probably the 3.15MP camera with a 2-stage shutter button

and autofocus.

While that may seem better on paper, in reality even the older iPhone 2G takes nicer photos.

Which really shows how important image processing is.

Just so you know how far we've come, here are some comparisons to the Google Pixel 2

as well.

Looking around the phone, you'll also notice a lack of a 3.5mm audio jack.

So it's like we've gone full circle now with the Pixel 2 dropping the headphone jack

too.

If you're old enough to remember, the 3.5mm audio jack wasn't always a commodity on

mobile phones.

Just a few years prior to that, we still had phones that used either proprietary connectors,

2.5mm audio jacks, or phones that just used the charging port for audio output.

Of course back then most people didn't really consume much media content on their mobile

devices.

Anyway, now let's take a look at the software itself.

I actually managed to downgrade the phone to version 1.0 so you can really see where

it all began.

It's a pretty bareboned experience obviously with a basic set of apps.

You also get the Android marketplace to download apps, which doesn't really work anymore.

The interface is actually still pretty familiar looking with widgets, home screen, and the

app drawer.

The app drawer has gone through quite a few changes over the years, but it's amusing

to see that we've gone back to the swipe up gesture, and a vertical scrolling list.

There isn't really much else to talk about, but this is where it all began.

When you look at the HTC Dream, it's kind of amazing how far we've come since then.

Back then, it was just a phone that does a little bit more than your regular feature

phone.

These days, they can do so much more.

It's a device for multimedia consumption, it's our gaming device, it's where we

read our news and books, it's where we connect with our loved ones, it's where we store

and record our memories, and so much more.

It's also quite fun to look back at a phone from a time where people weren't as attached

to their phones.

I hope you've enjoyed this throwback look at the HTC Dream, I certainly enjoyed making

it.

2017 was a pretty great year for Android smartphones, and hopefully 2018 would be awesome too.

CH_ 如何删除YouTube视频上的黑条? 视频上的黑边 - Duration: 2:55.

Hi, I'm Sami, from Fawzi academy, In this video, I will talk about,

Why you may notice some widescreen videos that have black bars on all sides. The video file includes horizontal black bars

(letterboxing) at the top and bottom of the video player in order to fit a 4:3 aspect ratio. YouTube 16:9 aspect ratio player then adds

vertical black bars (pillarboxing) to fit a 4:3 formatted video to YouTube player dimensions. The end result is black bars all around the video

(windowboxing). If you're uploading widescreen videos, you can

avoid windowboxing by cropping your video to the 16:9 format.

YouTube uses 16:9 aspect ratio players. The YouTube player automatically adds black bars to videos in the player so that videos are

displayed correctly, Without cropping or stretching, no matter the size of the video or the player.

If you upload a 16:9 video at its original aspect ratio (1280x720 recommended). The video will fill the YouTube widescreen 16x9 player.

If you upload a 4:3 video at its original aspect

ratio (640x480 recommended). The video will display in the widescreen player at the correct size and ratio with pillarbox bars.

If you add letterbox bars to the top and bottom before uploading so that the video fits a 4:3 player.

The YouTube player will add pillarbox bars so the 4:3 video fits widescreen. Bars will surround the video.

To fit the player perfectly, encode at these resolutions: 2160p: 3840x2160.

1440p: 2560x1440. 1080p: 1920x1080. 720p: 1280x720.

480p: 854x480. 360p: 640x360. 240p: 426x240.

Hope, this information, is helpful. Thank you, for watching Fawzi academy, Please, like,

My Art Goals for 2018│♥ Alexandra ♥ - Duration: 5:13.

hi guys this video is going to be slightly different as you can see from

the title even though it's been more than a week since the new year started I

took some time off to reevaluate my last year's goals reflect and also plan for

the new year 2017 was a very difficult year for me artistically I got caught up

with work and I ended up not having the time to express myself creatively this

year started great and I'm very positive it will be an amazing artistic journey

so I sat down wrote a lot of things that I would like to achieve and I started

working on them immediately and I wanted to share them with you guys as well

first thing I would like to do is post more YouTube videos and be consistent

I'm happy to say that the past two months I have been doing really well and

I would like to keep it up sometimes the video editing process when it comes to

painting is very time consuming and repetitive that I used to struggle a lot

with concentrating I ended up having 37 videos on my harddrive that I needed to

edit and I was running out of space now I just put on some classical music and

helps me concentrate a lot more

the second goal I have is to talk about my art and theory behind it more I feel

that it's very important for artists and people in general to have an insight

look and understand the ideas the meaning and the struggles behind each

artwork another artistic goal I have is to emphasize on the process of creating

instead of the outcome most of the time while I'm working on a painting I get

caught up with how a piece would look like when it's finished and I end up not

enjoying the process and instead of enjoying it I get stressed about it I

feel that art should be the opposite of stress it should bring comfort if you

think about it I had been doing this wrong all along and this past few days

when I sat down and put all my energy into the process have been the most

joyful and creative days in a long time one of my other goals is to perfect my

digital art ten months ago I purchased a drawing tablet nothing too expensive it

is a little welcoming to us draw just the basic one and it revolutionized my

artwork and confidence before the tablet all my digital paintings were done with

a computer mouse let me show you some examples I personally still love these

paintings but a computer mouse is not designed for painting and it was also

time consuming now I feel more confident my digital art skills have improved a

lot and it became my favorite medium something else I would like to do this

year is experiment with a lot of different mediums for about a year and a

half I have been using oil paints which is an amazing medium but I feel that I

sort of put myself in a box I started to learn how to use watercolors and ink and

I know I don't have a lot of experience with watercolors or ink but it is a nice

change and it helped me get out of my comfort zone another goal I have is to

share my inspiration and behind the scenes of my process I feel that it is

extremely important for artists to be inspired and inspire others this past

few days I feel so inspired by the art community and social media not only from

the artworks but also from the behind the scenes content

I think that by doing that I will contribute even just a tiny bit back to

the community the most important thing that I would like to do is to research

and prepare before each artwork and on the first of January of this year I

decided to start a reference sketchbook in order to prepare for future paintings

and illustrations I want to document my ideas and create archetypal drawings

then I want to keep working on them until I have a complete composition I

wanted to get out of my comfort zone to do this and I started this in an a5

sketchbook which is something that I've never used before I usually work in a4

or a3 sketchbooks and it feels really exciting

lastly I want to actually use my bullet journal I used to have an old bullet

journal that I think I used it once a month which is not really a bullet

journal if you think about it but now I feel that by keeping a bullet journal my

life and art will be more organized and stress-free there is something about

documenting your life and ideas in a simple notebook that is oddly satisfying

and weird but I like it so that is pretty much it for this video I wish you

all a lovely day and a belated Happy New Year and I will see you tomorrow bye
