Today I am not going to show any recipe but i am going to share few important Kitchen tips and tricks
that everyone should know who is the incharge of Kitchen
While working in kitchen we face some or the other problem
as they say every problem comes with the solution
Let's begin and find out what are these kitchen tips & tricks
Many a times this happens that we open up the packet of semolina but don't consume the entire packet
and that open packet allow the insect ifestation into it
to avoid the ifestation
Roast semolina in a pan for 3 to 4 mins on low to medium flame
Once semolina has been roast, let it cool down
Once it has been cool down, transfer it into an air tight container and store it wherever you want
You can even store it in refrigerator
Following this process will make sure it doesn't get infested
When you get fresh curry leaves from the market it starts decaying within a day or two
to keep them fresh for longer time, first wash the curry leaves thouroughly with fresh water
After washing, clean and dry out the curry leaves with a clean cloth or a kitchen tissue paper
Then transfer them into a glass container and cover it tightly with lid and store it in refrigerator
Doing so will keep the curry leaves fresh for atleast 10 to 15 days
While using the eggs if you want to know whether they are fresh or not
To check eggs freshness, just fill half a bowl or half glass with cold water and place your eggs in the bowl.
If they sink to the bottom and lay flat on their sides, they're very fresh.
If they're a few weeks old but still good to eat, they'll stand on one end at the bottom of the bowl. But consume them as soon as possible.
If they float to the surface, they're no longer fresh enough to eat.
the eggshells are porous they allow some air to get through, so older eggs have had more time for the air to penetrate the shells, so they're more buoyant & will float.
In my case all three eggs are fresh as they are lying flat at the bottom
After boiling the milk, it happens that vessels gets burnt or milk scorches at the base of the vessel.
To avoid scorching, first add 1 to 2 teaspoon water and then pour the milk over it
doing so will make sure that your vessel doesn't get burnt
Easiest way to cut an orange. Slice off the top and the bottom of the orange with a paring knife.
Then, make a cut into one side of the orange, until the knife reaches the fruit's center.
Then unroll your orange like this with your hands
you can see, how easily all the slices got separated
as you unroll the orange, all the slices will get separated
this is an easiet way to cut an orange and separate the slices
When you heat the oil for frying and not sure whether it is pooping hot for frying or not
to check, take wooden spatula
and place that wooden spatula in heated oil pan, if bubbles starts forming around the spatula, it means the oil is ready for frying
If your favourite knife has lost it's sharpness and you are not able to cut anything properly with it
To sharp that knife instantly, take any ceramic cup like this, flip it and run the knife like this on the corner of that cup
after running the knife for a while on both the sides, you will be able to see that your knife has been sharpen
you will be able to cut with it
If you want to prepare garlic butter at home, take some plain butter in a pan and keep the flame on low
Then add some grated or finely chopped garlic to it
saute it for a while untill the rawness of garlic is gone
then switch off the gas
Then add another 100gms or rest of the slab of butter you want to use
Along with it i am adding some fresh coriander to it
Now mix everything well
Butter will melt on its own from the heat of the pan
See, butter is now melted completely, mix it well
Once it cool downs, transfer it into an container
Now, to get the butter ready i will refirgerate it
After setting it will look like this, so your homemade garlic butter us ready
You can enjoy it with any toast
Cutting lady finger is always a task as it gets all sticky
and it also starts to release lot of slime and doesn't get cripsy while cooking
To avoid all the stickiness, rub the lime like this on both the sides of knife
and then cut the lady fingers with that knife
doing so will help to cut lady finger easily and it will not release slime
Whenver you want to store any biscuits or cookies, first add some sugar at the bottom of the container and spread it well
Then add biscuits or cookies into it
then cover the lid and store it
Doing so will keep the biscuits/cookies fresh for longer and it doen't get soggy
Take juice of half lemon into a bowl
then add 4 to 5 teaspoon of sugar and then half spoon of salt
mix them well
After mixing it, transfer into an ice tray to set it
today i am using chocolate tray
once it is filled, refrigerate the tray to set it
you can see the ice cubes with lemon juice, sugar and salt is ready
they are looking beautiful
in summer season, whenever you feel like having lemonade, just take out one ice cube in a glass and pour some soda or water into it
and boom, your lemondae is ready to enjoy
Add pinch of a salt in oil while frying poori or any pakoda (fritters)
salt makes sure that your fritter/poori doesn't soak too much oil
and it will not harm your health
you can see these fritter hasn't soaked much of the oil
so whenever you fry anything make sure to add pinch of a salt
While cooking green veggies add pinch of a sugar to it
adding sugar makes sure that color of the veggies stays green and it will also boost the taste of it
In your roti casserole place 3 to 4 ginger pieces
then put muslin cloth over it and then put rotis(Indian Bread) onto it
if you want you can keep the rotis into an aluminium foil also
then cover the rotis with muslin cloth/aluminium foil and close the lid of the casserole
Doing so will keep the rotis (Indian bread) soft & fresh for longer
Sometimes while rolling out the parathas, your rolling pin tends to get sticky because flour sticks to the pin
and that won't let you roll out the paratha properly
solution to this is keep your rolling pin for 4 to 5 mins in a refrigerator
and then roll out the parathan
doing so will not let the rolling pin stick to the flour
If you don't have starter to to make dahi (yogurt)
don't worry, luke warm the milk first as it is you do normally for making the dahi
then we will add two dried red chillies to it
Make sure to add the dried chillies along with it's tip
after adding them, mix it with the help of spoon untill the tip of the chillies get soaked
instead of dried red chillies you can always use fresh green chillies but that too with the tip
Then close the lid and keep it in any warm place for 10 to 12 hours
after 12 hours you will see that dahi is ready
see dahi has turned out just like in the normal process we follow with the starter
Let me scoop out it and show you, look how creamy it has turned out
so if next time you don't have starter to make dahi you can follow this process instead
If sometime your vessel gets burnt add some water into it and then add some tea powder to it
then boil it for 1 to 2 mins
then switch off the flame and leave it aside for sometime
then clean the vessel with any detergent bar
doing so will help you clean your vessel properly and it will shine like just when you bought it new
If you want to get rid of that bad odour coming out of the refirgerator, cut the lemon into half
then keep them in two separate trays
this will make the bad odour go away
if your messy and dirty refrigerator is not getting cleaned easily
here is what you have to do, take some warm water into a vessel and add 1 teaspoon baking soda in it
mix it well
then soak the cloth or sponge (whichever you use to clean your refrigerator) into the mixture
then clean the trays of your refrigerator with it
this will make your refrigerator shine
If your eggs usually get cracked while boiling them, don't worry
before boiling the eggs add half teaspoon salt into water and then add eggs into it
this will not make your eggs crack
you can see egg is not cracked and you will be able to remove the shell easily
