Liberal Vegans Protest Meat Loving Chef, So He Gives Them Lesson On BUTCHERING They'll Never Forget. - Duration: 5:36.Liberal Vegans Protest Meat Loving Chef, So He Gives Them Lesson On BUTCHERING They'll
Never Forget.
Militant vegan and animal rights protesters targeted Toronto's Antler Kitchen & Bar
for three months before proprietor Michael Hunter lost his cool.
After months of disrupted business and chants outside of "you're a murderer," and
"you've got blood on your hands," Hunter chose to wage his own protest by butchering
deer meat in the front window.
Antler Kitchen & Bar is known for its wild game-themed menu featuring fares such as boar,
rabbit, deer, and bison.
According to the restaurant's website, Hunter uses "every part of the animal."
Hunter, a co-owner, is both a hunter and forager.
In addition to a pair of antlers that hang from the kitchen window from the first buck
Hunter killed, the restaurant is also decorated with photos of wild leeks and morel mushrooms
foraged by Hunter and his business partner, Jody Shapiro.
Hunter's family lives on meat that is almost entirely wild, hunting deer, duck, and wild
turkey.
Unfortunately, those same meats cannot be served in Ontario restaurants according to
current laws.
Despite this, Antler's menu demonstrates Hunter's opposition to factory farming and
a belief in the necessity of using all parts of the animal.
Tougher cuts of the whole boar are braised and other parts are made into charcuterie
and sausage.
A terrine made from the head and the belly is smoked.
Pasture-raised venison is served as a stew, boasting Moroccan spices, house-made tahini,
and couscous, the roasted rack mounted on top.
Friendly competition exists between the restaurants on the block, most notably the Federal just
a few doors down.
The two businesses have a friendly rivalry where they trash talk each other's burgers
and make food jokes.
The Federal is known for its vegan and vegetarian fare.
Stemming from that friendly rivalry, one day in December and Antler employee wrote on the
sandwich board outside of Hunter's establishment, tongue in cheek – "Venison is the new
kale."
Vegans promptly lost their minds.
Hunter states of the message – "There was no offense meant.
I'm not trying to promote a meat diet.
I have a lot of respect for the vegan diet because I know how hard it is."
Yet offense was taken.
Enter animal rights protester Marni Ugar.
Ugar runs a local dog walking business called A Bark in the Park and she noted the sign
while walking by.
In turn, she promptly arranged a demonstration on December 7 on the block full of restaurants
and a butcher shop just across the street from the Antler.
Ugar claims she targeted the Antler specifically to teach Hunter a lesson, claiming she intended
to debunk the myth that raising animals in pastures free from hormones and antibiotics
is more ethical than factory farming.
Ugar states – "People feel like they're doing the right thing by going there.
That they're eating ethical meat."
Ugar describes the first event as "small and peaceful" with a group of eight gathered
in front of the Antler on a Thursday evening holding signs with varying degrees of the
same message – "speciesism = discrimination = injustice."
Yet this did not end with a single event but instead grew louder and larger with animal
activists and militant vegans chanting with megaphones outside the restaurant and attempting
to block diners from entry over the course of the winter.
Realizing that simply ignoring the protesters was not working, Hunter attempted to promoted
vegan selections also available inside the Antler on his sandwich board outside – offerings
such as mushroom yakitori, sweet potato gyoza, vegan lumpia held no appeal for the protesters
it seems.
After 3 months, walk-in traffic was down and attempts to hold any sort of meaningful discussion
with the protestors failed.
Ugar wanted more and instead demanded the restaurant go fully vegan, stating – "The
goal always is for a restaurant to go fully vegan, to reduce the animals they kill, for
me, isn't good enough."
Hunter stated of the protests – "I've left every time they came because it's so
upsetting.
I just felt helpless.
It's hurting our business.
I hoped it would fizzle out and go away."
But on Friday, March 23, Hunter was fed up and he was at his limit of hearing the shouts
of "MURDERER" reverberate through the restaurant each and every time the door opened.
He then walked to the kitchen and retrieved a cutting board, knife, and a hindquarter
of deer.
He then proceeded to sanitize the table and cut up the deer while the animal rights activists
and militant vegan protestors looked on in horror.
Hunter stated of his decision to butcher a deer in the window and how it came about – "This
is who we are and what we do.
They're offending us; I'm going to offend them.
So I went and got a deer leg.
When I was finished, I cleaned the area down and I went back to the kitchen.
At the time, I felt like I had stood up for myself."
It seems Ugar's efforts have not gone unnoticed and they have in fact made a change in Hunter's
business.
Since videoes of Hunter's protest butchering the deer leg were posted online and have gone
viral, the restaurant has seen a direct impact with a significant uptick in business and
in reservations.
It seems many approve of Hunter's means of standing up for himself in the face of
the militant vegans and animal rights activists with their bullying tactics.

YouTube Ranking is Weirder Than You Thought! - Duration: 3:20.Do you sometimes also think that YouTube's search algorithm is weird?
Ranking in search is not as straight forward as it seems.
We have this simple mental model that we do SEO and then our video gets a rank in the
search results.
In reality though, this mental model can easily break.
Haha, yours is still intact?
Not any longer my friend.
Let me give you three facts that will break yours.
Hey youtubers, Nico here.
If you thought that a video has a single rank in the search results then you are doomed,
haha.
Here are the search results for "how to rank higher on youtube search".
So far so good.
But I did the same search 5 seconds later.
Look at that.
These results are suddenly switched!
Now, I did the same search another 10 seconds later.
Again, a little different.
And when we look at the lower ranks it's all mixed up.
Ok granted, the ranks are fluctuating a bit but that's nothing serious.
Or is it?
These search results are all in incognito mode.
I am not logged in with my account.
Here are the results when I am logged in.
Look at that.
Suddenly Rodney is ranking here.
He has a small YouTube advice channel and normally doesn't have the ranking power
to rank for this super competitive search term.
But YouTube knows that I enjoy his videos.
These are my viewing habits that influence the search results.
Another example: I often listen to music.
Here are the results for "trip hop mix" in incognito mode.
And here when I am logged in.
I started listening to this mix but didn't finish it.
So that apparently gave YouTube a signal that I didn't enjoy it and thus it is ranking
lower for me.
This here is a mix you can't find in the incognito results at all.
Even if you scroll further down.
But I already listened to the whole mix and thus YouTube is showing it to me.
Ok, quite confusing isn't it?
But see that as a positive.
Even if your video ranks low in general it may rank much higher for a few people!
So do your SEO as you always do and enjoy this special boost.
Speaking of SEO.
This is our way to take our success into our own hands.
Or is it?!
Look at my most successful video in search.
It's ranking number one for the search term I targeted.
But this is only making up 5.5% of its total views.
Most of its views are thanks to YouTube doing its thing.
For example 2.8% of the views came from the search term "high volume ranked tags"
and I wasn't even talking about search volume in this video.
YouTube will do its thing.
Trust its decisions and enjoy the promotion you get for your video.
SEO is not a command for YouTube about where and how much to promote your video.
Rather see SEO as a recommendation you give to YouTube.
That's your foot in the door to tap into YouTube's huge promotion engine.
If you do it right you'll be amazed what YouTube does for you when shifting into the
second gear.
And maybe even the third gear.
Check out this video how YouTube does its thing.
What you prepare for when YouTube is still in the first gear is crucial!
Cheers my friends!

The best of the photos from Crystal Palace 1–2 Liverpool - Duration: 3:15.The best of the photos from Crystal Palace 1–2 Liverpool
Liverpool produced a spirited second-half comeback to claim a priceless 2-1 win at Crystal Palace and a huge three points for the top-four race.
Jurgen Klopp's side arrived at Selhurst Park looking to pick up from where they left off prior to the ill-timed international break.
And after a sloppy first half, the Reds fought back to see off Roy Hodgson's Eagles and record a fourth straight win at the once bogey venue to tighten grip on a top-four spot.
It was a special day for Klopp, who marked his 100th Premier League game in charge of the Reds.
The Reds made a controlled start but fell behind to Luka Milivojevic's penalty just 13 minutes in, after Loris Karius clattered into Wilfried Zaha for the spot-kick.
Sadio Mane saw his header ruled out for offside shortly after, leaving the Reds trailing at half-time after a frustrating first half.
Klopp's side started the second period with intent and were quickly level, with Mane not to be denied a second time as he turned home James Milner's fizz across goal.
A scrappy contest continued to play out, but Andy Robertson shone down the left flank all afternoon and played a key role in the match-winning moment.
Indeed, just as the game seemed set to end all square, Robertson delivered a superb first-time cross to pick out Mohamed Salah who…well, you know the rest!.
Cue wild celebrations as the Egyptian King shared the moment with the ecstatic travelling Kop….
The boss also savoured the moment as he marked a landmark game with a third sweet successive victory at what was once a notoriously difficult venue for the Reds.
It was a hard-fought but priceless win for Liverpool, and one that has piled further pressure on chasing rivals as Klopp's side established a huge 10-point cushion on fifth-placed Chelsea.
The Reds will now attempt to bring this winning momentum into Wednesday's mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final first leg with Man City at Anfield.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool: Player Ratings - Duration: 8:51.Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool: Player Ratings
Liverpool werent at their best against Crystal Palace on Saturday, but a ground-out 2-1 win feels huge in the top-four battle.
Loris Karius (out of 10) – 7.
The German has been in good form of late, and he again did well on the whole.
The major error though was his role in the penalty when he clattered into Wilfried Zaha to concede the penalty that Luka Milivojevic converted.
But made an excellent stop to deny the Ivorian and saved a second-half free-kick.
Looks a completely different goalkeeper to a year ago.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 5.5
Not a good day at the office for Alexander-Arnold, but he did improve as the match went on.
The youngster was targeted throughout, much in the way he was at Man United, and Zaha had a field day running off him.
He is struggling defensively at the minute, but some of his crossing was very good.
A foul throw was fairly inexcusable, and it wasnt his first of the game!.
Joel Matip – 5.5
This was another unconvincing performance from Matip, who looks a weak link at the moment and a worse option than Dejan Lovren.
Suddenly its Liverpools right side of defence thats the weakness and opponents are targeting it like they used to the left side.
Matip didnt challenge Christian Benteke in the lead up to the penalty, and lost the Belgian in the second-half.
His use of the ball was also sloppy and one wayward pass left Jurgen Klopp fuming.
Looked better in a back-three, but never filled you with confidence.
Virgil van Dijk – 6.5
The Dutchman was largely faultless, barring one sloppy loss of the ball, in a game that saw Liverpool enjoy the majority of possession.
He was dominant aerially and always exuded class, and while others around him struggled, he didnt drop much below his normal level.
Andrew Robertson – 7. 5 (Man of the Match).
This was yet another good display from Robertson, as he continues to show why he is one of the bargains of the season.
He was forever attempting to make things happen down the left flank, delivering inviting crosses which included the cut-back for Mohamed Salahs late winner – the composure for that assist was exquisite. A brilliant footballer.
Jordan Henderson – 5.5
The skipper started off well, passing the ball with purpose, but he soon dipped, failing to impose himself alongside Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner.
Henderson didnt look comfortable when pressed by the Palace players, and a lack of creativity was on show from deep.
Like almost everyone, he had a stronger second-half, but he has had much better games.
Gini Wijnaldum – 4.5
Mr Invisible was out in force away from home yet again!.
The way in which the 27-year-old vanishes on his travels is now becoming a genuine issue, and he offered almost nothing in an attacking sense.
Admittedly hes just returning from illness, but this was a poor showing and it needs sorting.
James Milner – 6.5
Liverpools entire midfield was disappointing, but Milner was the best of the bunch, at least bringing some attacking thrust to the side.
His inch-perfect cross allowed Sadio Mane to equalise shortly after half-time, and he rarely did anything wrong on the ball.
His experience was key in seeing the game out.
Mohamed Salah – 6.5
By Salahs unbelievable standards, this was a quiet 90 minutes, but yet again he proved to be the Reds match-winner.
Palace defended well against him, offering him little space, but he did look dangerous whenever he had the ball at his feet.
Took his goal superbly with his right foot, producing a finish perfectly highlighting his current levels of confidence.
Moving him to a central area after the change to 3-5-2 ultimately won the game.
Sadio Mane – 6.5
Mane is a unique player at the best of times, and this was a day that saw him produce good, bad and bizarre.
The Senegalese had a header correctly ruled out for offside, but he did equalise with a decent close-range finish, and always looked to make things happen.
He was booked unfairly for diving in the penalty area, but was fortunate to stay on the ball after a deliberate handball.
Not the most intelligent play.
Roberto Firmino – 6.5
Firmino wasnt at his best, but his work-rate was superb, with a number of important tackles made late on.
He couldnt influence things as much as he would have hoped, but he also did nothing wrong, and rarely played the wrong pass.
Even when he is quiet hes effective.
Starting XI Average Rating – 609.
Substitutes. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (on for Mane, 64′) – 7. Offered much more in midfield than Wijnaldum.
Dejan Lovren (on for Lallana, 70′) – 6. Did a solid job and won a few aerial battles.
Manager. Jurgen Klopp – 7.
Jurgen Klopp didnt get a good performance out of his players, but it is testament to the manager that Liverpool are now winning ugly.
He has instilled a winning mentality, with the Reds prevailing in tricky away matches far more than they used to.
You couldnt fault his starting lineup, even though so many werent at their best, and bringing Oxlade-Chamberlain on was a shrewd move.
Thats now five wins in the last six Premier League matches.
