Google just updated the iPhone Google Maps application, bringing to iOS a brand new feature

that might change the way you eat out.

Called "match," the feature was unveiled back at Google I/O 2018 in May and is already

available on Android, which is naturally where Google debuts many of its new features.

But it was only a matter of time until Google brought it to the other mobile operating system

that matters.

The match feature lets Google suggest restaurants that you might enjoy based on all the data

Google has on you.

That's right, the feature is a bit creepy since it only works well if you let Google

collect plenty of data about you, including Google Maps location data about places you

visit on a regular basis.

But you won't have to manually search for new restaurants, or for restaurant reviews

to see whether that new place you just found might be something you'd like to try out.

Or that's the general idea, at least.

Here's how Google explains match for Google Maps:

Our new "match" feature will help you find your one true love.

And by love, we mean your next favorite cheeseburger.

Tap on a food or drink spot to see how likely you are to enjoy it based on your unique preferences

– so you can spend more time eating and less time searching for places to go.

If you're already comfortable with Google collecting all that data about you in exchange

for smarter features like match, then you have nothing to worry about.

Just update to the latest Google Maps version for iPhone to get started.

If you're choosing not to share any data with Google, including Google Maps location

data, then you obviously won't be able to really take advantage of the match feature.

P20 Pro vs Pixel 2 XL: In-Depth Camera Test Comparison - Duration: 10:01.

Hi guys, it's MTG here, and today I'm going to be comparing the cameras found on the Huawei

P20 Pro and the Pixel 2 XL.

Many people still consider the Pixel 2 XL as having the best smartphone camera out right

now, so I wanted to see how it compared to the P20 Pro's triple camera system.

I'll be comparing the cameras in various lighting conditions, and I'll also look at the video

and audio quality of both phones.

Make sure to stick around to the end of the video to see how the cameras perform in more

challenging lighting conditions, and to see what the P20 Pro's night mode is capable of.

Let's get right into it.

The Pixel 2 XL has a single 12.2 Megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture.

Using Google's image processing and machine learning, it can achieve portrait style pictures

on both the front and back cameras.

The camera can record up to 4K at 30 fps and 1080p at up to 120 fps.

It has both optical and electronic image stabilization.

The Pixel 2 XL's front camera is 8 Megapixels with an aperture of f/2.4.

It can record video at up to 1080p at 30 fps.

The Huawei P20 Pro has a triple camera setup with Leica optics.

The main camera is 40 Megapixels, the monochrome camera is 20 Megapixels, and the telephoto

camera that allows for 3x optical zoom and portrait mode pictures is 8 Megapixels.

They have apertures of F/1.8, F/1.6, and F/2.4 respectively.

The camera can record 4K video at 30 fps, 1080p at up to 60 fps, and 720p at up to 960

fps.

The main camera has optical image stabilization, but can only utilize it at 1080p at 30 fps.

The P20 Pro's front camera is 24 Megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture, and can record video

at 1080p at 30 fps.

I'm going to start off by looking at the pictures shot in great lighting.

Know that I turned off intelligent AI on the P20 Pro because the pictures looked like someone

put fake filters on the images.

This first side-by-side will begin to show how good the Pixel 2 XL is even in auto mode.

The P20 Pro's shot is still great, don't get me wrong, but the harsh lighting caused a

light streak across the top of the picture and caused the image to appear slightly washed

out.

In this instance, both phones did an excellent job.

The P20 Pro tends to produce pictures with higher saturation to pull out more of the

colors, whereas the Pixel 2 XL tends to produce images with higher levels of contrast to pull

out details.

If we zoom into the "Mamma Mia" poster, we can see that despite the P20 Pro having the

much larger Megapixel count, the Pixel 2 XL is able to show a comparable amount of detail.

Here, the Pixel 2 XL's image is slightly brighter overall, but the P20 Pro is able to capture

much more of the gradient of blues in the sky.

As the side-by-sides continue, begin to notice the different ways the phones process images

in different scenarios, and that will help you decide which phone's camera system will

be right for you.

Here, again, the P20 Pro is able to pull out more of the colors in the sky and on the buildings,

but it is also overexposed in some areas.

The colors don't pop as much on the Pixel 2 XL, which isn't a bad thing to many people,

and the shot is perfectly exposed throughout.

The Pixel 2 XL's portrait mode had blown people away from the very start because of how great

they turn out, so I was interested to see how the P20 Pro's portrait mode compared.

The P20 Pro takes the much wider angled portrait shots, so in order to match the framing, I

had to take a full step forward with the P20 Pro.

In this scenario, I think the lack of a telephoto lens for depth information on the Pixel 2

XL lead to it struggling with differentiating between the foreground and the background.

Whereas, the P20 Pro does a great job with edge detection, dealing with the harsh lighting,

and pulling out the colors in the sky.

In this image of me, the lighting was harsh again because there were no clouds in the

sky, but both phones still handled their shots well.

The Pixel 2 XL is able to pull out much more detail on my face, neck, and shirt, whereas

the P20 Pro seemed to really soften the details in the same areas.

Both phones also take high quality selfies.

Similar trends as the rear cameras hold.

The P20 Pro has more saturation, whereas the Pixel 2 XL tries to capture as much detail

as possible, especially around my face.

The P20 Pro also appears to have more of a noticeable depth of field than the Pixel 2

XL.

Both phones have front camera portrait modes, however, and I think the Pixel 2 XL took the

much better image.

Even with beauty mode turned off on the P20 Pro, the Pixel 2 XL is able to pick up so

much more detail.

As I shift into video, know that the P20 Pro does not let you turn on image stabilization

for 4K or even 1080p at 60 fps.

It only lets you turn it on for 1008p at 30 fps.

The 4K video of both phones show very similar levels of saturation and dynamic range.

Both phones really try to saturate their 4K video.

However, the optical and electronic image stabilization of the Pixel 2 XL makes the

lack of stabilization of the P20 Pro so blatantly obvious that I would never shoot 4K on the

P20 Pro for actual footage unless I was using a tripod or gimbal of some sort.

As I have said before in other videos, this is such a shame because in 1080p, the P20

Pro produces some of the most stable video I have ever seen on any smartphone.

It should also be noted that on both phones, the saturation levels aren't nearly as high

when they are in 1080p.

The colors look a little more natural.

Both

front cameras produce solid video.

Both don't have stabilization so the videos are kind of shaky.

Given the fact that the sun was directly behind me, I'd say that both phones did a pretty

good job of keeping my face clear and in focus for the most part.

In terms of audio, I'd say that the P20 Pro produced audio that was very slightly more

tinny and less full, but in most instances the differences seemed pretty marginal.

I will add that as the sun was in front of me, the P20 Pro did the better job of keeping

my face properly exposed.

But as I always mention in my camera comparisons, phones at this price point are expected to

perform well in great lighting.

So the rest of this video will be focused on images shot in more challenging lighting

conditions.

This shot is challenging because the sun is in the image.

Both did a good job of still capturing the sky, but the Pixel 2 XL was able to capture

significantly more of everything else in frame.

Here, light is coming through the window, and both phones are able to keep the foreground

visible.

But the Pixel 2 XL's auto-HDR capabilities have a clear advantage in this scenario.

On the Pixel 2 XL's image, the sky isn't overexposed like on the P20 Pro's image, and the foreground

is much brighter and clearer.

The sun was setting as I took this image, and although both phones produced very detailed

pictures, the Pixel 2 XL almost completely greys out any blues in the sky, which are

still preserved in the P20 Pro's shot.

Now I'm going to shift to even more challenging lighting conditions, and I'm going to look

at pictures shot at night.

At night, the Pixel 2 XL will automatically try to brighten the image as much as possible,

while keeping image noise to a minimum, and it can usually produce some really solid results.

The P20 Pro's shots produced in auto just looked really dark, and frankly not really

usable.

That's where night mode comes in.

Night mode gives the P20 Pro the information it needs to really brighten up the image and

retain detail, while still keeping noise to a minimum.

In Night Mode, the P20 Pro keeps its shutter open for a full 4 to 6 seconds.

And utilizing AI and image stabilization, it is able to remove any sort of motion blur

caused by hand movement.

Night Mode produces pictures that are objectively better than the Pixel 2 XL's in just about

every way.

Lights aren't blown out, more detail is captured, and more contrast is visible.

But there are some instances like this one where the Pixel 2 XL's image processing alone

can get close to what the P20 Pro's night mode can capture in 6 seconds.

Keep in mind that yes, night mode is awesome, but it does take a full, uninterrupted 4 to

6 seconds to shoot, whereas the Pixel 2 XL is taking all of these pictures almost instantly.

This camera comparison was pretty interesting.

There were scenarios where P20 Pro was the clear winner, and others where the Pixel 2

XL was the clear winner.

It's still very impressive that the Pixel 2 XL is able to do everything it does with

just a single camera on its back.

At the end of the day, people will prefer the camera that performs well in the scenarios

they're more likely to shoot in.

So hopefully this video helped you decide the phone that would work best for what you

want it to capture.

If you're new to the channel, I post a lot of cool camera comparisons like this one,

and I also post some cool reviews.

Make sure you're subscribed and have the notification bell clicked to see them first.

That's all I had to talk about today, thanks for watching, and I will see you in the next

video.

Jeep Wrangler JK FOX 2.0 Performance Reservoir Shocks for 1.5-3.5" Lift (2007-2018) Review & Install - Duration: 14:48.

Hey guys.

Today I'm here with the Fox Performance 2.0 Series reservoir shocks fitting all 2007 to

2018 JK Wranglers with 1.5 to 3.5 inches of lift.

This is gonna be a perfect option for you guys out there looking to improve your handling

with a long lasting and high-quality reservoir shock.

These will be a great option if you're out racing with your Jeep or if you're just looking

for a shock that can handle being worked all of the time.

So these are gonna be a great option if you're looking to pair this with a lift that does

not already come with shocks or are just looking to refresh all four corners of your Jeep since

this does come with the front and the back shocks.

At the moment, these are gonna be just shy of $900 which is actually gonna be your most

affordable option for a four pack of reservoir shocks.

Fox is a very big name in the suspension industry and I think that what you're getting with

these it's definitely worth the price.

Plus you're getting a one year warranty so you get a little bit of peace of mind in your

investment.

Install is gonna be a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter.

However, it's nothing that you can't do in your driveway with some hand tools and a couple

of hours.

So speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.

The tools that we use for this install are a three-eighths inch drive ratchet, a 16-millimeter

ratcheting wrench, a 16-millimeter open-ended or a box wrench, a three-fourths inch ratcheting

wrench or a 19-millimeter ratcheting wrench, an 18-millimeter open-ended or box wrench,

a pry bar, an extension, a 6 millimeter Allen key, a 16-millimeter swivel, an 18-millimeter

swivel, a 19-millimeter deep socket, an 18-millimeter deep socket, and an impact gun.

So our first step for replacing our shocks is to get our Jeep up in the air and take

our wheels and tires off.

So I'm gonna use a 19-millimeter sockets to get off our lugs and take off our wheels and

tires.

So after our wheels and tires are off we can take a couple pole jacks to support our axle.

So now that our axle is supported, we can remove our top shock bolt with a 16-millimeter

ratcheting wrench and a 16 millimeter open-ended or box wrench.

So, there is a chance that this car pole can snap, but the new shocks come with hardware

so that shouldn't be a problem.

So, now we can remove the bottom shock bolt using an 18-millimeter wrench and an 18-millimeter

socket.

I am using a swivel here because of clearance reasons, but if you have a ratchet and a regular

socket that should work just fine.

So after that bolt is out we can fully remove our shock.

After the one shock's out you can just repeat the process on the other side.

So the big difference that we see while we put the two shocks on the table is that our

new Fox shock has a reservoir compared to our standard factory monotube shock.

So a reservoir shock is gonna increase your valving and improve your dampening over time

because there's more oil inside the reservoir shock and it's gonna have better oil displacements

since you have some extra room to work with because of the reservoir.

So compared to a monotube shock, whether it be hydraulic or gas charged, everything's

happening in one chamber.

So now with a reservoir shock, you have some extra room to work with since there's more

oil.

So the gas and the oil will be separated by an internal floating piston.

So that's gonna be really good at reducing shock fade over time from cavitation or foaming

forming inside the shock when it's worked really hard like bumps at fast speeds or excessive

washboards.

So this is gonna be perfect for anybody who does any desert racing, any dune racing, and

just any fast pace Jeeping.

So our new shock is also gonna be a lot more durable on the outside compared to our factory

shock.

And it has a five-eighth inch chrome plated alloy steel shaft that is heat treated.

So this is gonna be able to take a hit on the trail compared to our factory shock that

might not hold up to any of that.

You're also getting a couple of little goodies around the shock that are gonna increase the

durability and the lifespan.

So you have a stainless steel graded line here connected to your reservoir that's gonna

protect your oil from any damage.

You have your nitrile bushings for noise reduction and a longer lifespan over time.

And you also get a clamp with this to clamp your reservoir to your shock body so it's

not bouncing around on the trail.

So enough about our stock shocks, let's install our new ones.

So now we're ready to install our new shock.

I would recommend that you keep the clamp off so you can maneuver the shock around and

then you can clamp everything on at the end.

So you will have to go behind this brake line to get everything lined up.

So once the shaft is in the top hole, you can maneuver the shock body around just like

our stock shock.

So this fitting is not touching the shock perch.

So before we secure down the shock with the bottom bolt we do have to make sure that there's

enough room for hardware up top.

So we're gonna install our hardware starting with the bushing and then the washer and then

the nut.

So before we tighten the hardware up top we need to insert the bottom bolt to keep our

shock body in place.

Now we can install our bottom shock bolt using the factory hardware on the bottom, and we'll

be using the new hardware on the top bolt.

So now we tighten down the top nut with a three-fourths inch ratcheting wrench or 19-millimeter

ratcheting wrench.

So now we can install our clamp to clamp down our reservoir to our shock body, making sure

it's out of the way of any moving parts like our spring on the left-hand side and our brake

line here on the right.

And your line will give you some resilience to get it up and out of the way.

And you can tighten down the Allen bolt with a 6-millimeter Allen key.

So now we can repeat the process on the other side.

So after we're done buttoning up the front, we're gonna take our pole jacks and support

our rear axle in order to take out our rear shocks.

So I'm gonna use an 18-millimeter wrench and an 18-millimeter socket and remove this bottom

bolt.

So now we can remove the top two bolts that are holding in our shock using a 16-millimeter

socket.

I'm using a swivel and an extension because they are up there and I need to get around

the rear sway bar.

So once all of those three bolts are out we can remove our shock.

It might take a little bit of a wiggle to get it out but it should just come right out.

A pry bar can help you get it unstuck and then you can fully remove your shock.

So now we can repeat the process on the other side.

You might have to play around with the height of the axle to get the bolt lined up enough

to come out.

But it should come out pretty easy.

So the back ones are pretty stiff in here.

So we're just gonna take our pry bar again and wedge it out.

So after our rear shocks are out we're gonna lower our pole jacks so we can fit in our

new and longer shocks.

So this is gonna help our axle droop a little bit so we can line everything up.

So now we're ready to install our shock.

So, you can let the shock sit there while you thread in your top bolts first, then we

can thread in the bottom bolt and tighten everything down at the end.

So once those are threaded in we can insert our bottom bolt.

Then we can go ahead and tighten everything down.

So, just like the front shocks, we're going to attach our clamp onto our rear shocks so

our reservoir is not just floating around.

You might have to loosen the bolt a little bit to get it around the reservoir and the

shock body.

After it's in place you can tighten it down with a 6-millimeter Allen key.

Now we can repeat the process again on the other side.

So after everything is tightened up in the rear we can remove our pole jacks and put

on our wheels and tires.

So that wraps it up for my review and install.

Antarctic secrets 'IF' Organism 46-B and Lake Vostok. - Duration: 10:29.

Antarctic secrets Organism 46-B and Lake Vostok.

John Carpeneter's "The Thing" tells the story of a scientific expedition stumbling upon

a lost alien craft.

They release an alien with the ability to change shape which destroys the base and them.

Is This sci-fi spectacular just fiction?

There is a place in the Antarctic that could somewhat match the story and has been the

location of many a discovery.

strange creatures and bizarre conditions.

welcome to lake Vostok and Organism 46B Welcome to if…………………………………………………..

So what is organism 46B and where IS Lake Vostok?

Let's start with the lake, the Antarctic has been popular online topic in the past few

months many videos and articles being posted that claim the continent is off limits.

The military of countries like The US and Russia enforcing a quarantine of the frozen

landmass.

could these rumors and stories be tied to the lake?

what makes this lake so special? the sub-glacial Antarctic lake can be found

hidden under four kilometers of ice, the lake is an inhospitable place.

researchers working at Vostok Station drilled down into the lake and took measurements of

the air and at -89 degrees Celsius they recorded the coldest temperature ever measured on Earth.

The 4 kilometers of ice that sits above the lake put the lake's water under enormous pressure.

Researchers say that its comparable to the surface of Jupiter's moon Europa, the icy

water is also cut off completely from the Sun, the life-giving rays unable to penetrate

the massive depth of ice.

In these extreme conditions finding life would seem highly unlikely, what could provide energy

to an ecosystem?

there is essentially no outside energy input and this has been for millions of years.

But in the immortal words of Dr. Ian Malcolm "life finds a way"

so what was found under that ice, was there a creature as terrifying as ' The Thing'?

Those studying the location confirmed that there was life in this impossible and almost

alien environment with the existence of a Vostok-dwelling bacterium.

This species was new to science and had not been found anywhere else on the planet and

far from being a plucky survivor eking out an existence, it was thriving.

This bacteria was not a lonely organism there were over 3500 species found living in this

impossible lake.

After the years it took to drill down through the ice these discoveries were akin to hitting

a biological jackpot.

What they found was not limited to only bacterial life.

They even found species that are generally associated with mollusks and fish, leading

one researcher to say that the lake "might have fish,"

This researcher quickly withdrew his statement and this could be down to the finding of organism

46B. so What is Organism 46-B?

This creature is an elephantine type of animal which looks like it belongs in the octopus

or squid family.

It is a huge beast Measuring in at thirty-three feet long and weighing almost one ton.

with fourteen tentacles it is truly a beast of underwater nightmares.

Like the Kraken of legend and other sea monsters, this cryptid creature would be a super predator

which if found outside of the lake could easily be snacking on unfortunate sailors.

Organism 46-B has some tricks up its fourteen incredibly long sleeves, it is claimed that

the cephalopod has the capacity to telepathically hypnotize and then immobilize prey.

This ability to control other creatures has a range of over 150 feet, which means getting

close to the slippery behemoth is difficult.

The Russian military first encountered organism 46B while exploring Lake Vostok.

During the first encounter with the animal, it was said to have purposefully disabled

their communication equipment.

This is when the creature attacked, the unfortunate man was reported to be treading water one

moment, then a strange smile came across his face moments before he was torn limb from

limb.

The deep lake monster snacking on the man's body using its long tentacles to feed the

dismembered body parts to its beak-like mouth.

This would have been terrifying enough but then this is when the creature showed abilities

that were truly mind blowing Reminiscent of the creature in 'The Thing'

organism 46B then changed shape morphing into what appeared to be a large school of fish.

Maybe this was an illusion many cephalopods have the ability to change color and reflect

their environment, maybe this monster can morph its body to show images and appear as

something else, the ultimate in camouflage.

Being of a military mindset these divers decide to go after the animal, maybe after some revenge.

They found it and after showing off more shape-shifting abilities a conflict ensued.

The divers all survived as did the Organism 46B but the giant beast did lose one of it

enormous tentacles.

This is when things get very strange, after the limb was hauled to the surface for study

it was said to have still been living, and attacked and killed a female member of the

Russian dive crew!

This is the beginning of the conspiracy, five years the Russians battled the creature or

creatures finally capturing a specimen, this specimen was said to have been housed in a

ship which had been converted into a tank of sorts.

The creature was then taken and presented to Russian officials who were quick to hide

the animals.

The dive teams were orders to never talk of this expedition or the creature again but

Inside intelligence has stated that Putin plans to breed these animals and use them

as enormous weapons if war was to break out.

The Russian authorities seeing the value of this species as a weapon.

A biological bomb that could render an enemies oceans off limits and probably lifeless in

now time.

octopus and squid typically lay about 20,000 eggs in one season.

Imagine if just a tenth of those eggs hatched the sea would become off limits as these aggressive

giant predators searched for food.

The chaos they could cause by disrupting communications would be enormous, and the damage they could

cause to fisheries would be huge.

The mainstream media machine has been quick to debunk this story which has many believing

that it could be true.

The propaganda of TV and internet being used to hide the evidence much in the same way

as they do with the UFO phenomena.

However, with Just a little digging the internet can show that there is much more information

supporting the theory of the existence of Organism 46-B.

So is this a real creature?

Is it an organism that evolved under the ice depths or could it be something from another

world?

At the start of the video, I mentioned how the lake and its highly pressurized conditions

are similar to those found under the ice sheet of Europa.

Are the unique animals of the lake and organism 46B possibly descendants of ancient life seeded

here from a world like the moon Europa?

The team does note that this wide swathe of deep-lake species includes members specializing

in every stage of the nitrogen and carbon cycles, implying that the isolated ecosystem

of Lake Vostok may have fixed, used, and recycled its own limited supply of carbon for several

million years.

If true, this means that evolution has invented the ultimately sustainable green-space.

This ability to self-sustain may show how life can survive on very little energy.

Maybe this shows us life Could survive a trip through space on an asteroid.

Lake Vostok shows us how few environments we really can discount in our search for life

in the universe.

Gerda Taro - Facts about female photographer Gerda Taro famous photojournalist

Gerda Taro – Everything You Need to Know about lady German Photographer Gerda Taro.

The Search Engine Google is celebrating Mount Olympus with a new Doodle.

This "Mount Olympus" Google doodle is displayed in a few countries.

Gerda Taro, nicknamed "the little red fox," is considered to be the first female journalist

in the world to cover from the front lines war and conflict.

She was known for delivering great highly contrasting pictures that would show up in

the French daily paper Ce Soir.

Gerda Taro, initially named Gerta Pohorylle before she transformed it, was conceived in

1910 in Stuttgart, Germany.

She moved to France soon after Adolf Hitler came to control in 1933 and keeping in mind

that in Paris she met Robert Capa who might show her the nuts and bolts of photography.

Capa, who might caution Taro not to go for broke with her work, would help establish

the Magnum Photo office.

Taro's short vocation finished in Spain after she lost her life at 26 years old while taking

photographs on the bleeding edges of the Spanish Civil War northwest of Madrid in July 1937.

Her front line pictures made Taro a commonly recognized name in spite of a considerable

lot of the photographs being erroneously credited to Capa.

Google's landing page highlights work of art delineating a photograph of Taro who is seen

grinning while at the same time holding up a camera.
