May Allah's peace, mercy and his greetings be upon you!
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds
and may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon the messenger Muhammad
and upon all his family and companion.
Welcome all!
How can we deal with whisperer of doctrine [faith]?!
For instance, A guy comes to you and tells you that he's got some suspicions.
As soon as you answer him and went back home,
he phones you and asks you for the answers for other suspicions.
After your call finishes, he'll knock at your door asking you for other suspicions.
This is called, in Islam, a whisperer not a suspicion.
So first, we must differentiate between a suspicion and a whisperer.
Whisperer is a mental assumptions that are generated and disappear automatically.
But the suspicion is totally different, it's a wrong interpretation for the religious text.
This interpretation generates a problem [issue] that the questioner doesn't comprehend.
At first, we will know the kinds and reasons of suspicions then we'll discuss the matter of whisperer.
There're four reasons for suspicions:
#1: an authenticated Hadith.
#2; a non-infallible saying
a saying of a Muslim scholar that the questioner thinks that this is the Islamic view [opinion].
#3: Misunderstanding of a religious text.
#4: Non-comprehension of a religious text orientation.
The last point needs the longest period to be dealt with.
Because it is related to personal [specific] perceptions of the questioner.
For instance, he sees the religious text through a secular scope
He rejects the Islamic penalty of apostasy .
However, at the same time, he accepts any law for punishing people - who violates any secular law - within the secular law.
He rejects the Islamic penalty of stoning.
But he completely accepts killing illegitimate infants [abort them] who were born outside the family.
he rejects the oath of loyalty and disavowal while he welcomes the concept of citizenship.
For this kind of people need treatments and to adjust some things according to some concepts in his mind.
So the suspicion may last for a specific time
until the questioner finds an answer to it
or it automatically disappears.
Suspicions may disappear [vanish] by acts of worship and devotion.
Prophet Muhammad PBUH says in the authenticated Hadith:
"Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night."
So prompting doing good deeds is a treatment for suspicions.
But the whisperer is totally different.
It increases by searching for answers (for suspicions in soul).
Does the whisperer come at a specific age?
Unfortunately, no.
It may infect a young kid or an old man.
It may last for years and it may vanish at a moment.
Who are the people likely catch [get] the whisperer?
It gets more likely to people who don't have enough knowledge of Islamic laws.
It's like the physical disease that people with low natural immunity catch.
Is the whisperer considered a sin or a misdeed?
On the contrary, the whisperer could be a reward, requital or elevates one in rank.
Prophet Muhammad PBUH says in the authenticated Hadith:
"Never a believer is stricken with a discomfort, an illness, an anxiety, a grief or mental worry
or even the pricking of a thorn
but Allah will expiate his sins on account of his patience."
So the whisperer is a trial [afflication] for the mind.
As the physical disease is a trial [affliction] for the body.
Allah says in The Noble Qur'an; [Chapter 29, Verse 2]:
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
The whisperer may be a reason to efface all of your sins.
And that results in getting all sins effaced after getting infected by the whisperer as clean as the day you were born.
Some people from amongst the Companions of the Prophet PBUH came to him and said:
"Verily we perceive in our minds that which every one of us considers it too grave to express.
The Prophet PBUH said: Do you really perceive it?
They said: Yes.
Upon this he remarked: That is the faith manifest."
Prophet PBUH says to the people who got whisperer:
"That is the faith manifest."
So you, whisperer patient, have a predecessor in the companions.
And Prophet PBUH gave you glad tiding that is the faith manifest.
If your heart isn't filled with faith and love worship,
you won't be upset with those whispers.
So your faith fighting those whispers is considered the faith manifest.
Another one asks: "The whisperer hinder me practicing acts of worship."
Obligatory worships are the foremost, period.
The prayers; Duhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha' and Fajr.
And other Islamic pillars like praying, Zakat [alms] and fasting.
On the other hand, it's known that whisperer hinder patient from practicing voluntary acts.
The he doesn't feel the taste of worship anymore.
He doesn't have the assured certainty to pray religioso [prayerfully].
And that's a normal thing [symptoms] for the whisperer patient.
Just as the physical disease hinder patients from practicing some acts of worship,
whisperer hinders patient from doing some acts of worship also.
We advise the whisperer patients to pray the obligatory prayers as far as possible.
Whisperer patient may say, "I don't feel the taste of worship."
No problem. Just keep the obligatory prayers.
Whisperer patient may say, "I don't feel they will be accepted."
No problem. Just keep the obligatory prayers.
Whisperer patient may say, "I don't feel I'm humble while praying."
All of those are normal things [symptoms] for the whisperer patients.
Unfortunately we don't have any religious justification to leave any obligatory worship acts.
Allah says in The Noble Qur'an; [Chapter 30, Verse 31]:
"and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allah."
Do you hear the warning of God?
The biggest trick that Satan always do is to make you so lazy to practice obligatory acts
on the pretext that they won't be accepted, not feeling humble or even not feeling the taste of obedience.
Fear God and pray again even though you're filled with all kinds of whisperers.
What about voluntary acts and Sunnah practices?
We hope that God will credit you with the equal of whatever good deeds you used to do.
Prophet Muhammad PBUH says in the authenticated Hadith:
"When a slave of Allah suffers from illness or sets on a journey,
he is credited with the equal of whatever good works he used to do when he was healthy or at home".
Is the whisperer a sign of weakness?
On the contrary, the whisperer is a sign of strength.
It's only a sign of a weakness of the Satan.
Prophet Muhammad PBUH says in the authenticated Hadith:
"Praise be to Allah Who has reduced the guile of the devil to evil prompting [whispering]."
This is the Satan's utmost power over you.
When does the whisperer become a misfortune [disaster]?
Whisperer becomes a disaster when one's heart reassures it and his soul gladdens and welcomes it.
As long as the patient hates those whisperers
and tries his best to knock it off,
that is the faith manifest.
Just as the physical disease that may make the patient become desperate [hopeless] of God's mercy,
the whisperers may also make his patient feels so reassured to those thoughts.
So both physical and whisperer disease may become an affliction.
Other than that, whisperer is a trial to elevate your degree and increase your faith and obedience.
Now let's discuss the most important point in this episode
How to deal with Satan's whisperer concerning the Islamic doctrine?!
The first and foremost advice is never searching for any answer to any whisperer or suspicion you think of.
Never ask a sheikh, google or browse books.
Because whisperers appear and vanish automatically.
You'd value those thought if you searched for an answer to it.
And this will results in generating whisperers in an endless manner.
That was Prophet Muhammad's PBUH advice for us
which represents the top of Psychotherapy
"one should seek refuge in Allah and keep away [give up] from such idle thoughts."
So you gotta keep away from such thoughts [whisperers] and ignore them completely.
The second advice is never seek forgiveness because of those whisperers.
When one's mind catches some whisperers, you find him saying: "I ask Allah's forgiveness"
He shouldn't do so because he makes his mind and soul that he's already committed a sin [mistake].
The genius Muslim scholars said:
"Asking Allah's forgiveness from whisperers and Satan's thoughts and considered innovation."
In psychiatry, if the whisperer patient thinks that he's wrong [committed a sin]
whisperers will become much stronger upon him.
On the other hand, if he knows that those whisperers [thoughts] are the faith manifest and elevating his degree,
he will become stronger, face those whisperers and even enjoy them.
They're an easy reward to get.
Those whisperers increase by fear.
And completely vanish by ignoring and stultifying them.
The third advice is to exploit the period of whisperers;
you can work in Dawah [preaching for Islam], increase your social relationships,
start practicing a hobby you like
and make fun of those whisperers.
Those whisperers would vanish automatically if you made fun of them.
You can tell yourself (or the whisperers) that "all Muslim scholars have already answered all points and issues in Islam that people asked for."
"How would you appear again?"
"Shut up, you idiot!"
Indeed, those whisperers will start to vanish automatically.
If you deal with mental assumptions lightly,
they completely vanish.
The best example about this is (Panic attacks).
Panic patients have rapid heartbeat, feat, excessive sweating, stress and annoyance.
Those attacks increase if the patient capitulates to them.
However, it will automatically vanish if he mocks them and make fun of them.
Psychiatrists advise panic patients
to make themselves really scared and make fun of that feeling.
That feeling [panic attack] will feel ashamed and it will be difficult for it to return again.
The fourth advice for whisperers patents,
you must resist [counter] that feeling and continue your reciting.
These whisperers automatically vanish when you neglect and ignore them.
The fifth advice is about some religious texts you can read when whisperers attack you.
you should seek refuge with Allah,
say, "I believe in Allah and His Messengers.",
Read [recite] Sura Al-Ikhlas Chapter 112
Recite the following verse several times, Chapter 57, Verse 3
"He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing."
Whenever you hear whisperers, you say,
Allah, God is my lord. He has no partner.
You'd notice that whisperers people had once OCD in cleanliness
then whisperers moved to Islamic doctrine.
This indicates that it's all about nonsense mental assumptions.
The last advice is you should read a particular part of The Noble Qur'an everyday.
For example; One chapter of The Noble Qur'an with its plain interpretation.
You should read it in a good way of cogitation and understanding.
You should also read ten Hadith everyday with its plain interpretation like interpretation of Sheikh ibn-Othaimeen
Do your best to pray humbly.
Get away from websites of suspicions as they will make whisperers much stronger.
And it will make you think and consider the most trivial whisperers.
The whisperer would automatically vanish as you caught it.
It will vanish and disappear without leaving any trace.
I ask God the Almighty to remove afflictions upon us
and to grant us a good end to our life.
May Allah's peace, mercy and his greetings be upon you!
A woman asks,
"I'm infected with whisperers that attack the basis of religion and doctrine,
and they are a continuous thoughts [whisperers], do not change and yell at my mind that I'm not on the right path.
And that I've gone astray and not Muslim at all.
And I found this as a catastrophic affliction and made my life so tough."
The essence of what she said was this:
"What's the solution for this issue? And I hope you'd pray for me."
I say to her, "I congratulate you for these whisperers as they indicate the good intention
and that is the faith manifest.
As Prophet Muhammad PBUH describes those whisperers that is the faith manifest.
The manifest of anything is the real and pure.
So I give her glad tidings as this is the sign of good.
And never incline to those thoughts, care about them or be sick because of them.
As they're the sign of good.
Satan always chooses the powerful and faithful heart [soul] to attack it.
Satan never shoots his lethal arrows towards a dead soul.
