In today's video. We're going to talk about using Google slides
to make animation for your videos. So stay tuned.
If you haven't done so already,

Most of the time you won't need to do this if you already use a video editing software
that allows for animations.
I did a video pretty recently where I showed how to add pictures
to video in DaVinci Resolve.
And in this I showed how to animate graphics.
But for those of you that use something a little simpler,
I'm going to show you how you can make a animation
in Google Drive and then just add it to your video.
So to get started you go into Google Drive,
click new,
and go down and hit slides.
This is going to open a brand new slide.
And I'm gonna go ahead and take off
the stuff that's already on there, because I'm not going to need that.
I'm also going to close the themes, because I'm not going to need that either.
This isn't going to make a lot of sense right now,
but you'll see later on in this tutorial,
why you actually need to start with a blank slide.
And hit duplicate slide.
Now, the slide you're actually going to work on is slide number 2.
And I'm going to do all the animation on this one slide.
So let me start to fill this in to show you how it works.
First, I'm going to go ahead and insert a background.
I go up here to background,
and I'm going to choose an image.
Now that I have the background uploaded, I'm going to start to throw in different animations.
I decided to go with a darker background so that I could choose white lettering to go on it.
It's best to choose one that's either dark or light.
So that your letters and your pictures will show up.
I'm going to start out by bringing out the text.
And click up here on the text box,
and then to add text,
I just left-click and drag.
Now, I'm going to go ahead and change my font.
I'm going to use impact.
I'm going to go ahead and put it up to 30.
I'm going to change it to white.
And I'm going to Center it.
As you can see it says this is a demo. I'm actually going to highlight that.
And let's go ahead and make that a bit bigger.
There we go, that's a bit clearer.
Now, before I go any further,
I'm going to click on this,
I'm going to insert,
animation.
So, the first thing I want to do is I want to animate this word.
I'm going to go over here,
and I'm going to click
fly in from the left.
So that when the slide starts is going to fly in from the left.
I'm not going to put on clicked,
because I'm going to click
that very first white square.
And so, I want to put after previous
and that way it starts automatically.
And you can change whether you want it to go slow, medium or fast.
I'm going to put this one on medium.
Now let's click play and see how that looks.
That looks pretty good.
So I'm going to click stop.
Now the next I'm going to do,
is I'm going to insert
an Image.
And I'm going to upload one from the computer again.
I decided to try this cute little robot picture.
I'm going to just stick it in the center.
I'm going to click on it, and I'm going to click add animation.
Now, this one I want it to fade in,
After the previous animation.
And then actually I want it to fade in,
let's say about two seconds is good. So let's go two seconds.
And then I'm going to add another animation,
and I'm going to have it fade right back out.
I'm going to have it fade out in two seconds.
So let's play that and see how that looks.
So as you can see, the little robot went in and then it went out.
Now, let's click stop.
Now here's the really fun part.
I'm now going to upload another picture.
I'm going to choose this little arrow right here.
And I'm actually place it over the robot picture.
Because if you'll remember, the robot picture fades out.
So this one I'm going to have come in afterwards, but I'm going to make one other change.
I'm going to add text.
So I create another little text box.
And this text I'm going to
change everything the same way I did on the first one.
I'm going to go ahead and leave it to left justification.
And I just wrote thanks for watching.
It's hard to see because it's over to the side.
But I'm going to scooch it over here. So it's halfway over the robot.
Now with that highlighted,
I'm going to push down on my shift key,
and click the arrow.
Then I'm going to go up here to arrange,
and click group.
Now these two are together.
And I'm going to add an animation to them.
I'm going to have them
fly in from the right.
After previous.
So let's take a look at how that looks now.
As you can see because the robots faded in and out,
there's nothing interfering with these two on the bottom.
So you can keep going like this
and layer several different things. You just need to keep in mind
what your animations are doing.
The next trick is to get this into a video.
So we're going to stop this.
And we're going to turn on a screen recorder.
Now, I'm not going to do this part because I'm using my screen recorder to actually film this.
But you would turn on your screen recorder,
go back to number one,
and then you're going to click present.
Now the thing at the top and bottom, we're going to give it a minute to fade.
Now this is where you're going to start your video.
It's already going to be recording before you pop it up to present.
Once the bars are fading away and you no longer see your cursor,
you're going to hit your left arrow to start the presentation.
There we go. And then this hit escape.
And that would be where you stop your screen recorder.
Now, I already made one of these in advance.
And so now I can go and open something simple like
Windows Movie Maker.
And I'm going to grab the little video I made in advance,
drag it over to Windows Movie Maker,
and this is just going to take a couple seconds for it to load up.
This can be done on many simple software.
Now that I have it in Windows Media Player,
I'm going to grab this, and I'm going to drag it over.
Through that shot until I see the first of that video.
Right there.
I'm going to go into edit and split that.
I'm going to click this first section and then hit delete.
Now, this will play through.
There we go, I think that's a good place to stop it.
So I'm going to split it again and then take this end part,
and delete it.
Now, all I have is this little video right here.
It's basically seven seconds and I'm going to click play.
And everything looks good.
Now, the best thing to do is go ahead and save this. Especially if you're using it as a bumper or a stinger.
Or an end card on any of your videos.
You can go up click
save movie
and I'm going to go with recommended for this project.
And now that's done.
I'm going to actually hit play and we can watch how it looks.
So that's it.
So I just took a normal slide in Google slides.
Use screen capture
to catch it during the presentation.
And then I used Windows Movie Maker
to trim it down so that it was a little bitty video.
And now I can put that into any of my videos,
as a bumper, a stinger or an end card.
I hope this video was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to drop them down below.
And we'll catch you next week. Thanks for watching.
